The Great Hall

[Headmaster Dumbledore]

Albus Dumbledore sat in his office reading files from the Ministry. The added security to Hogwarts was immense but despite Cornelius Fudge's guarantee that it would be enough things didn't seem quite right. As he studied maps of where the aurors were to be stationed he wrote down several notes. As he wrote he stopped and listened. A sensation in the pit of his stomach told him something was wrong. Standing up he walked over to his window and looked out towards Hogsmeade. There down by the gates were several Death Eaters battling with the aurors!

"Fawkes, I need the owls, all of them" Dumbledore said as he turned back to his desk. The phoenix nodded it's head and soared out of the open window and off to the owlery. He then waved his wand and a cupboard opened and out flew 327 parchments and dozens of quills.

"To all students" Dumbledore began speaking as all the quills began to write down on the parchments what he was saying. "The castle is under attack. All students are to go to the Great Hall immediately! These are Death Eaters, they will show no mercy to anyone they meet, do not try and be a hero and venture forth to face them. You are safest in the Great Hall."

By the time he was finished, a mass of owls were hovering outside the window. Several at a time the owls flew in and the parchments were magically tied to their legs. "Find every student, deliver these letters" Dumbledore instructed the owls. Owls fluttered around the room wildly as they flew out the windows to find students and then quickly return. In a few short minutes, owls had delivered letters to every student as well as all the professors and aurors on the school grounds. Several owls had also been sent to the ministry.

Dumbledore then picked up his wand and quickly made his way down to the Great Hall. At the two main entrances stood aurors who were letting in students while keeping a watchful eye. Several ghosts had also come into the Great Hall. "Sir Nicholas" Dumbledore said as he waved over the Gryffindor Ghost. I'd like for you to organize the ghosts, sent them out to explore the castle we need to find out how many there are and where they are. By the Hufflepuff table were a couple of House Elves who were busy cleaning. "We will need sweets, many sweets" Albus said as he approached the elves. "I should think that will help ease the students of some of their anxiety right now." The pair of elves then hurried off to the kitchen.

Albus then turned and walked up to the high table and waited for all the students to arrive. While he waited the tables began to fill up with all sorts of cakes and pastries as well as pitchers of butterbeer.

Dawn was in her dorm room sitting, drawing on a loose piece of parchment. Humming to herself an Owl came throught her door. "Dear Merlin!" She yelled as she threw her paper off her of her, a bit scared. Standing up she grabbed the letter attached and send the owl off. After reading it Dawn grabbed her wand and went throught Everyone girl's dorm Demanding everyone to go to the Common Room. After a few minutes Dawn held every Slytherin in the Common Room. After a Head Check she Yelled over man voices. "Everyone Listen Up, If you Dont want to be Killed a Slow and Painful Death!" every voice stopped. "Good! Alright you!" She pointed to a boy in 5th year. "Stay last make sure you are the last one else, or your head will be thrown into the fire with the extra wood!" she exclaimed as she walked toward the Porthole. "Everyone Follow me! When we reach the Great Hall and someone's missing I wont go looking for you, and I will tell Dumledore someone killed you on the way!" Dawn shouted at everyone making sure they followed her.

Walking out of the Slytherin Common Room she shot a Confundus, spell down the hallway. Walking up the stairs many people ran around confused. Not caring who they were Dawn lead the Slytherin house to The Great Hall. "Sit Down and Stay there!" she yelled as she found a seat herself.

[Cole Waters]

Cedric was sitting in his common room reading "Quidditch through the ages" for the twentyith time that week. Just then a giant barn owl flew into his window and dropped a piece of parchment on his lap. Cedric read the parchment and with worried yet confident "Oooo" Cedric grabbed his wand out of his robe pocket and headed down to the common room.

When he got down to the common room he noticed that Dawn had gotten all of the Slytherins together. Most of the Slytherins hd the ussual "Every man for himself" feeling and would do anything to get away. Cedric looked around at everyone else worried. Just then Dawn started off towards the great hall.

Cedric started to follow her but then saw a first year girl sitting in the corner crying. Cedric walked up to her and said "Come on we have to get out of her." The girl looked up at him in tears and said "My sister is in ravenclaw and Im afraid she wont make it." Cedric looked at her and said "She will be fine. There will be someone watching her. Now get your wand out and stay close to me." Cedric grabbed the girl by her shirt and began walking out of the common room.

Cedric got into the halls and watched as people ran around in confusion. With his wand out in front of him and his other hand on the girls robes he kept walking at a fast pace towards the great hall. Finally when they reached it Cedric walked in and let go of the girl. "Sit down and you can look for your sister later." Cedric said looking at the girl. "Thank you." the girl said. "No problem" Cedric said looking around. Then Cedric walked over to Dawn and said "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Sitting down Dawn took a deep breath and tryed to relax, but re occuring thoughts of the last attack still shot around her mind. Putting her hand on her forehead she started to get a fever. Closing her eyes softly she shook her head. Opening her eyes, she took two pony tails out of her pocket and begain to put her hair into two buns.

Controlling her breathing she saw Cedric walk toward her and stand in front of her. In reply she said, "Umm.. Not quite sure. For now everything is fine." she said knowing it really wasnt. Death Eaters were comming back into the school. She wasnt afraid its just, she didnt know what to expect. Leaning over she pulled up her knee high black socks, which were falling to her ankles. Looking up to Cedric she said. "Turns out there is a Slytherin out there who is nice to other houses. How sweet." She shot him a smile of amusment. "I deffinatly dont know many people who would do that. Expecially for someone younger." She nodded as she knew it was the truth.

[Cole Waters]

Cedric watched as Dawn put her hair in two buns. Then she pulled up her socks. "Well if there is anyhing you need just tell me." Cedric said. When she talked about him being nice Cedric said "Well she needed it. And I wasn't about to let her sit there and get killed by a bunch of death eaters." Cedric looked at Dawng and said "Well I think I will let my Niceness extened to you. Are you ok?" Cedric asked.

Cedric pulled up a seat next to Dawn and looked t her. Her face was starting to turn red and she looked really nervous. Cedric then looked around the hall and saw people panicing. Then he grabbed two butterbeers and gave one to Dawn. "Here it will help." Cedric said.

Justin was sitting in the Gryffindor common room ,when all of a sudden he heard cries of panic and terror outside. All of a sudden his owl Fiery flew in and dropped off a note. Justin picked the note up and read it. It was a order for all students to go to the Great Hall and some Death Eaters we're there. Justin picked his wand up and ran out the prtrait hole and down the many flights of stairs. He saw some people he recognized ,but did'nt stop ,he wanted to see if any of his friends we're hurt.

As he entered the Great Hall he saw Dawn and Cedric ,both Slytherins ,so he headed torwards them and said "Hi Cedric , you're back I see. Anyways ,have either of you seen any of my fellow Gryffindor's?"

[Kim Sullivan H4]

Kim was walking down the hallway in no particular hurry. In typical fashion she had set out to go somewhere but had forgotten long ago and now she was simply wandering around while a song played over and over again in her head. "I'm Kim Kimmy! Yes! I'm the real Kim Kimmy! all you other Kim Kimmy's are just Kimmitators!" She sang as she looked around the hallway at the portraits. Straining her brain she tried to figure out where exactly she had wandered off to, and secondly she needed to remember where she was supposed to have been going. Obviously it was important because she had set off to go there so naturally she should think hard and then it will come back to her. Shrugging her shoulders she turned and headed back in the direction from which she came all the while continuing to sing.

"Oh I'm Kim Kimmy yes I'm Kim Kimmy so won't the real Kim Kimmy stand up yes please stand up Kim Kimmy cause I'm Kim Kim Kimmy Kimmy Kim Kimmikens! oooh cause I'm ...." Kim then stopped as an owl landed right in front of her. "Do you know where I'm supposed to go?" Kim asked the owl who only blinked his eyes and hooted at her. "Guess not" Kim said as she picked up the owl and took off the note and read it. She didn't read the whole letter however, her eyes caught the words "Death Eater" and "Great Hall." Dropping the parchment Kim turned around and sprinted down the hallway towards a staircase she had seen earlier. Upon reaching it she frantically asked the portraits "Where is the Great Hall!?" After several portraits pointed down the stairs, Kim bolted down the steps at an alarming rate, in some cases she jumped three steps at a time.

As she scrambled down the steps she ran smack into a group of Slytherins that were all going somewhere. "Might as well join them" Kim thought to herself as she squeezed her way into the group. Luckily in short time they arrived at the Great Hall. Squishing against the wall, Kim managed to squeeze into the Great Hall before most of the Slytherins. All around the room people were running around. Walking into the hall, Kim's eyes were drawn to something amazingly spectacular on the tables. "CAKE!" Kim exclaimed as she skipped over to the Hufflepuff table, grabbed a plate and piled it high with several pieces of cake. "Oh Butterbeer too!!" Kim smiled and clapped her hands with delight as she took hold of a bottle and opened it. As she happily feasted, Kim had now completely forgotten the reason she was now in the Great Hall.

Julie Rosewood was in the library returning a book. She was just about to take the book from Madam Pince to put it back on its shelf when her little owl flew towards her with a piece of parchment. "Not now, Yarda," said Julie, surprised the owl should come into the library just to give her a message. Madam Pince was looking from Julie to the owl in annoyance when suddenly a group of owls flew into the library towards all the students. Madam Pince closed her mouth in surprise before saying anything to Julie, who was sure she had been about to reproach her, when Yarda nipped Julie sharply on the shoulder. "Ouch! Really Yarda there was no need to-" began Julie, but she did not continue the sentence. Death Eaters? Again! What were those Aurors up to? Hadn't the Ministry sent them to stop more attacks on the school?

Julie ran off with the others to the Great Hall, fear building up inside her. She did not know where any of her friends were right now and just wished they were safe. Two Aurors were at the door of the Great Hall, and it was all Julie could do not to look at them in disgust. Her fear and worry only increased when she entered the hall to find only a few students inside, and Julie went over to the Ravenclaw table and sat down on a chair and just started staring at the door, hoping more students would arrive before the Death Eaters reached them. There was some food on the table and drink, but Julie did not really notice them as she awaited the arrival of the others.

Dawn merely nodded her head in a -thank you- to Cedric. As Justin Lionheart quickly jumped over to the two. Dawn's fever was still there, and personially she didnt care much for Justin. But it seemed like him and Cedric were aquanted before. Hearing his question Dawn spoke normally and said, "I think they will be arriving shortly. Be patient." she said. Turning away form him she shook her head. She was being nice to him! Planning not to talk to him again, she took a sip of her butterbeer and slamed it down on the table, in anger.

[Cole Waters]

Cedric saw Justin come over and Cedric let out a sigh. Him and Justin weren't really on the best terms and now was not the time for Cedric to go and satrt a fight. Cedric looked at Justin and restraining himself Cedric said "Yes Im back." Just when he was about to answer Justins question Dawn did it for him. Cedric looked around the hall and saw that many people were starting to fill in and the hall was filling up quickly. Then Cedric heard the bottle slam on the table and Cedric knew that Dawn was in a bad mood. Cedric looked at Dawn and said "Eat something it will help."

[Evelyn]

Evelyn looked up at the red and gold banners in the Gryffindor Common Room and saw people minding their own buisness walking around quite busy actually. She wondered if she really belonged here. "What do I do now?" Evelyn whispered. She felt alone, so she walked over to one of the couches and sat down and watched every very quietly wondering who was nice or not. A few moments later she walked down to the great hall to read the daily prophet, so she placed herself down on the steps comfortably and started to read.

[Sydney Rawson H6]

Sydney was asleep in her dorm, having an evening nap when she felt an Owl nipping at her ear. "OOw! Chester! Come on now! Ew know not to wake me up while I be sleeping!" she exclaimed in her strong Brittish accent. Sitting up she saw a letter on her dest next to her bed. "So ye wake me up for a letter, eh boyle?" standing up she walked over to her desk. Reading it a look a bit frightened came on her face. "Oh dear." she said as she slipped on her shoes and grabbe her wand. Faltening out her skirt she grabbed her cloak as she went to the Great Hall.

Walking down the many stairs she saw many people walk into the great Hall. Running through the Slytherin House she went to her table. Finding a seat she sat down. Food was placed all over the table like a fest. "Must be here for awhile." she muddered as she grabbed a bunch of grapes and started to eat.

Gram was in the Library when a few owls came into the room. Toab flew quickly toward Gram. Noticing him before he stopped he reached up to grab the letter. Toab flew like he was going to land on thetable but instead of landing he slid on the top and threw all of Gram's books to the floor. Madam Pince quickly looked at Gram and Shhhushed him. With a smile he stood up and picked up his books along with the letter. Reading it he shook his head. "Again.. cant theres Aurors do anything?" Gram mudered as he put the letter in his pocket and went towards the Great Hall.

Reaching the doors everyone jamed into two doors ways. Waiting patiently to get throught the crowd finnally thined out. Walking into the room Dumbedore sat the at the table in the front. Wondering why he wasnt out looking for the Death Eaters Gram walked to the Hufflepuff table and waited for his house to arrive.

[Evelyn Shaver]

Evelyn looked up slightly from the daily prophet and waved with two fingers at Sydney and then went back to reading, hopingto make a few friends today.

[Evelyn]

Evelyn then walked down to one of the tables and stared at the cieling and wondered if everything was going to be okay, somewhat worried

Justin listened to Dawn and then listende to Cedric talk to her ,so Justin headed over to the Gryffindor table and sat down. He then saw two other Gryffindor's come in and walk around so he headed over to Evelyn first. As he walked up to her he said " Hi Evelyn ,any sign of the other Gryffindor's yet?" His was anxious , and yet he was calm. He then waited for her reply.

[Evelyn]

"well I do not quite know, since i have not talked to any of them yet." evelyn said in a calm voice, yet some thing inside her, made her excited, like she wanted to talk to Justin forever, but she did not even know him. She then asked, "do you want to go outside and walk around?" She awaited his relpy silently.

[Copenhagen]

Justin was thinking about taking her up on her offer , but then the current events started to come back to him and he said " We ca'nt right now the school is being attacked , and we might ,be killed." He was however on the edge of saying yes , but he could'nt put her in danger. So he picked up two butterbeers instead and handed her one saying" We can talk in here. It's safer and we can see if any of our friends are safe."

[Evelyn]

"I guess you are right." she said, "well, do you want to go to the library and walk around?" Evelyn asked, hoping he would say yes

Justin was again on the verge of saying yes , but he remembered the Headmasters letter and so he said" Professor Dumbledore said to stay here and if we wnet i might not be able to protect you. We ca'nt go until the Headmaster gives us the ok." he really did'nt want to say that , but the Headmaster has given all the students a direct order.
