The Great Hall!

[Headmaster Dumbledore]

(( All students who were not able to get into their common rooms are to come to the Great Hall! Drusilia and Valerie, I've moved your posts here. ))

Drusilia made her way quitely and quickly down the hall away from the Ravenclaw common room. She had been told along with a bunch of other kids to go to your common room but she couldn't get in! Drusilia new the password hadn't been changed resently or anything, but her password wasn't working. She new something was wrong she had seen all the adults running around hurriedly with uneasy expressions on their faces and new she shouldn't be wondering the halls by herself at the moment.

Wand clutched in her hand Drusilia peaked around the corner and didn't see anyone so stepped out and made her way towards the main hall. Nearly having a hard attack when Professor Snape litterly flew past her out of the entrance into the dungeons, what in the world?!

Taking that as a good suggestion to find other people she ran the rest of the way into the main hall. Making her way into the dinning hall she made her way over and sat at the very end of the Ravenclaw table. From her spot at the Ravenclaw table she could see out the windows facing the front of the school though seeing as she was near the end of the table and saw spells flying outside the windows and a large burst of light in the sky and the slight outlines of people mostlikely professors on the front lawn. "What is going on?!" Drusilia held her wand more furmly in her hand ready to defend herself if need be.

Valerie walked into the Great Hall a little before 8. Late in the evening was perhaps the best time to come for desert. Most people were out of the Great Hall at this time and one could pick what one wanted from all four tables! It was odd that the house elves would rotate the deserts every day. After a short search, Valerie found her strawberry cheesecake, they had been given to the Gryffindors today. Grabbing a plate, she took two slices of cake then returned to the Hufflepuff table.

Valerie had barely finished 1/2 of a slice when she started to hear a lot of shouting in the main entrance. Not paying much attention to it she returned to her cake. Soon again more shouting was heard as students began to run into the Great Hall. What on Earth was going on!?

Raidon made his way inside from a walk through the courtyard. Raidon's head popped up when he heard raised voices and running? "Huh? Since when do professors yell and run for them braking the rules should be ten times worse!" Ignoring his own comment Raidon ran down the hall so that he was standing just a foot away from walking into the great hall and listened. "Huh well thats not helpful I missed all the professors so how am I supossed to know whats going on?!"

Making his way over to the front doors he was about to walk out when some one probably a prefect told him to go to the great hall, letting out an exasperated sigh he made to go to the house tables then turned to go back out to the courtyards and around the school only to be yelled at again. Knowing he had no chance Raidon walked over into the dinner hall and over to one of the windows and looked out not seeing much anymore.

Turning he saw Valerie and Drusilia. He wondered who could give him more information on what was going on.
Walking over to the hufflepuff table he sat down on the side next to the Ravenclaw table near where Drusilia was sitting. Facing Valerie he asked, "You wouldn't happen to have any information on what the bloody hell is going on now would ya?!"

[Head Girl Andi]

Catalina sat reclined in her favorite chair in the common room while she read her latest edition of the Pride of Portree Unlimited. Sitting next to her was a large box of chocolates and resting upon the table sat a bottle of butter beer. Nothing better than this! Catalina thought as she sipped her butterbeer and ate her sweets while she read an article about a new seeker the Prides were trying to sign. Trying to suppress a yawn, Catalina stretched out and closed her magazine as a gentle breeze flew in from the open window. Looking lazily over to the clock which read 8:15, Catalina tried to muster enough energy to get herself up off the couch, but it proved useless so instead she simply stretched out on the couch and watched the embers in the fireplace pop.

Catalina was nearly asleep when she heard the flapping of wings as an owl entered the common room looking to deliver mail. With one eye half open, she saw the owl was not Jupiter so she closed her eyes. She however got very little rest as the owl landed on her leg and began to hoot wildly and peck at her feet. "Oww!! Gobdaw!! I'm awake ye bloody eejit!" Catalina said as she quickly sat up and looked at the owl "Why ye got ter......" she suddenly grew quiet as she stared at what the owl had attached to his leg. Her eyes went wide as she stared at the bright pink strip of cloth and she knew exactly what it was. Before the year had started, the headmaster met with all the prefects and went over their responsibilities as well as emergency signals. The pink cloth as this owl had was the very worst.

Quickly, Catalina jumped up from the couch and spun around looking towards the common room exit. Two little 1st year girls were about to leave the common room! "Aye! Ye can't go out tere!" Catalina yelled at the two girls as she ran over to them and grabbed the pair by the back of their robes. "Ye can't go! Ye haf' ter stay 'ere! Both o' ye, go up ter te' girls dorm, tell all the girls to come down now! Tis' an emergency!" Catalina then spun and found a couple of 3rd year boys. "Aye, ye b'ys! Go up ter' te b'ys dorms! Tell t'em to come down now!" Nervously, Catalina waited by the doorway with her wand out and ready. In less than 5 minutes she was assured that every Ravenclaw in the common room was with her. "OK, we 'af ter go ter te Great Hall! I dun know why, but Dumbledore says tis' an emergency! Follow me! Keep up to! Wands at te' ready!"

Catalina then turned and led all her Ravenclaws out of the common room and silently they all made their way from their tower to the ground floor. In short time they reached the Great Hall. Pushing open the door, Catalina and the other Ravenclaw prefects ushered in all the Ravenclaws. Looking out the main door that was wide open, she saw bright flashes of light that could only be spells being cast outside. Turning around, Catalina entered the Great Hall and shut the door behind her. Making her way over to the Ravenclaw table, she sat down and waited anxiously.

[Professor Pomona Sprout]

Pomona stood in the back of the school where the dungeon exit was, where she was stationed earlier by Dumbledore. Standing with her wand she got a not from Fawkes. Reading it her eyes skimmed the parchment. "Report to the Great Hall to watch over all the studnets." Slipping the letter into her pocket she made her way to the Great hall.

Walking in the Main hallway she went up the stairs to get her Hufflepuff students. After a few stair cases she reached the Hufflepuff Common Room. Voicing the spell she went inside. "Come on! Come On Everyone, Prefects lead the students to the Great Hall. Come on! Chop Chop, no time for dilly dalleying!" she said in a calm but strick tone. Waiting for all the worried students to stand up and gather she turned around and made her way down the stairs.

After a the bonbardment of students and Pomona made it to the Great hall she pointed toward the Hufflepuff table. "Everyone sit down please." She walked to the front of the hall as she flicked her wand. All of the candles lit and the fire grew in the fireplace. "Oh dear." she thought to herself. Seeing the Ravenclaws already showed up she smiled everything was working out, for the time being. She kept her cool infront of the students as he waited for other houses to arrive and her further instruction.

[Professor Minerva McGonagall]

Minerva stood by the door which led to the dungeons at the south end of the castle. Pomona stood nearby, yet Xiomara had still not arrived. With a nervous look she watched Fawkes enter and drop two notes. Picking it up, she quickly read it. Without a second of wasted time, Minerva quickly climbed the stairs to the top of the tower to where the Gryffindor common room was. Giving the password she entered the Common room. "Parvati!" She said as she spotted her nearby. "Quickly, go up to the girls dormitory, I want everyone down here now. You've got one minute! Mr. Finnigan! You to, get all the boys here on the double!"

In two minutes all the Gryffindors had arrived. "There is no time to explain right now, we have an emergency, we are all going to the Great Hall. Prefects stay to the read, keep all the stragglers with the group."

In about five minutes, the Gryffindors had arrived in the Great Hall. "Take your seats at the tables please" she said as she walked up to the front of the Great Hall.

[Professor Severus Snape]

Making his way to the entrance of the Slytherin common room he spoke the password and entered. Automatically he senced something amiss by the uneasy expressions on some of the younger slytherins' faces. Snape called for all the Slytherins to gather at the entrance of the common room, he wanted to know what was going on but right now he had to get them all to the great hall.

"Well is everyone ready? Stay together and remain quite!" Looking around Snape spotted a 7th year lounging on a couch, "Do remain at the end and be sure that no one falls behind or tries to wonder off!" With that Snape led the Slytherin's out of the dungeons and into the great hall and directed them to sit down at the Slytherin table.

Walking over to where Minerva and Pamona stood near the front of the hall he inquired, "you wouldn't happen to have any more instructions would you?"

[Savannah Johnstone R7]

Savannah was busy drawing a picture as usual. Sitting in her normal chair, a lush blue cushion chair near the fireplace, Savannah barely noticed what anyone was doing in the common room. In typical fashion, Savannah had chosen to isolate herself and submerge herself in her writings and drawings. Despite it being fairly early, the common room was pretty crowded and it was only getting more crowded as every minute went by.

Savannah's precious concentration was abruptly canceled when she heard Catalina yelling. With a frustrated sigh, Savannah looked up to see Catalina was yelling at an owl that had landed on her. Picking up her quill, Savannah attempted to go back to her drawing but was again stopped by Catalina yelling again, this time at two 1st years. They couldn't leave the common room, yea ok past curfew or something, seriously Catalina had to lighten up on the rules. She then began to yell some more and this got Savannah's full attention. The Great Hall? Emergency? "Catalina what the bloody hell are you talking about!?" Savannah said as she got to her feet and was soon joined by just about every other Ravenclaw.

When they entered the Great Hall, Savannah saw that only a handful of people were actually here. Within minutes though the Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors arrived and the atmosphere became very tense. Sitting down at the Ravenclaw table, Savannah looked up to where Professor McGonagall and Sprout were standing.

[Harry Potter]

Harry sat on a couch in the Gryffindor Common Room staring at the fire with nothing to do. Soon a sound boomed from the porthole. Professor McGonagall stormed in and told everyone to go down the Great hall after her. "Emergency!" he thought as many things ran through his head. Standing up he went toward McGonagall as he held his wand tight in his hand. Looking at her he noticed a sence of worry in her voice. Listening to her he followed her down to the great hall.

Reaching the Great Hall, the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuffs where already there sitting and convesing amongst themselfs about what is happening. Sitting at the Gryffindor table with everyone else in his house he took out his wand and held it on the table in front of him. The Slytherin House arrived as Harry listened to many stories that were being told to around the hall. Voices echoed. Harry wanted to know what exactly was happening. Standing up with his wand in hand he walked up to Sprout, McGonagall, and Snape. Looking at all three teachers Harry Spoke. "Professors, what exactly is happening? What is the Emergency?" He asked as he noticed most of the Great Hall was silent and awaited the Professors responce.

[Professor Pomona Sprout]

Soon after the Hufflepuff house arrived so did the Gryffindor and Slytherin. All houses sat as voices chattered through the Great hall. Overhearing some conversations some were worried. Some where extravigent in stories. Some were exclaiming how it was a drill. Pomona stood in the front of the hall with her hands by her sides tapping her cloak.

A student caught her eye as he walked to the front with Pomona and the rest of the Professors. "Yes, Mr. Potter?" she asked and listened to his question. When he was finnished he looked at the students behind him. Most were quite and looking right at them, and some were whispering wondering what to answer was going to be. Pomona looked at McGonagall as she spoke up. "Well first off everyone has to stay calm." She said as her hands motioned for everyone to relax. "A few minutes ago, and still going on, the Dungeons were invaded. We Do not know what exactly happened, at this moment. For right now we got instruction for everyone to Stay in the Great Hall. The Headmaster will tell everyone soon enough what you need to know. Just relax till then." She said in a loud voice so everyone in the Great Hall could hear her.

[Professor Severus Snape]

Snape stood inpatently waiting for an answer. After a moment Harry Potter walked up to them and asked about what was going on. The distracted Snape paid the boy even less attention then he normally did which was very little as he turned towards the other two professors. "I'm going back to the Slytherin Common room, something wasn't right, I also can't seem to find a couple students who are usally the first to retire to the common room." With that Snape went back down into the dungeons.

Walking into the disurted common room he looked around and then made his way over to the stairs to the boys dormitories. Starting up the stairs he was startled by what he found a few steps up. Horror struck he nealed down next to the boys body and felt for a pulse but the boy was dead. Making his way along the stairs and through the dorms he found 3 bodies in all.

Making his way back down the stairs he went up into the girls dormitor and started to check the rooms. He didn't find anyone in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th years' but found both Pansy and Ophelia dead in the 6th year and Paige in the 7th.

Shaking his head Snape began to make his way towards the stairs when something caught his eye. Walking back into the 6th year girls dorm room he saw Dawn's body half covered by one of the beds. Making his way over to her he knelt down and felt her throat to find a pulse, she was still alive! Pulling out his wand he pointed it at the girl and exclaimed, "Enervate!" Then pulled the somewhat groggy girl towards the stairs and then down them quickly and out of the common room hoping she hadn't seen the dead girls knowing Pansy was her friend while also hoping she had seen their attacker.

"Come Miss McGrogan we must get you to the main hall." Snape commented as he pulled the girl along beside him up the dungeon stairs and into the main hall and walked over to Minerva and Pamona still stood along with Harry Potter.

Dawn layed lifeless in her dorm room when the next thing she knew she was being pulled up off the ground. "Mmmuh.." he moaned slightly as her eyes were squinted open. "whht?" she said as her words seemed to be slurred. "weeeeww?" she said as she rolled her head up and noticed it was Snape. Bending her right leg she put her weight on to it. Collapsing under the pressure she tryed again with help from Snape.

Getting to her feet she held on to Professor Snape's shoulder and the wall as she walked down the stairs. "Whuuu hhhaappen eww Ansy?" she asked as she slightly regained thought about the situation that was previously played out. Walking up the Dungeon stairs Dawn grabbed the hand rail to help her. "URG!" she roared as her left arm seemed to fall limp to her side. "Ib ooken." she said as she forced her feet up the stairs. Walking into the Great Hall she noticed many people look at her through her hardly opened eyes.

Dawn knew she was in the Great hall but everything seemed hazy to her and in a dream. As Snape set her down at the Slytherin table, Dawn set her right arm on the table as she layed her head on it. He left arm was at her side as she quickly fell back into a very deep sleep in her spot.

[Professor Juliette Vector]

Juliette walked into the Great Hall and found it packed with students as well as several professors. Walking to the high table she stopped by the others. "Severus, Melantha Aradia was killed in Hogsmeade." she said in a low voice. "The attackers got in through a secret passageway by the woods. There are many aurors in Hogsmeade now as well." Juliette then slumped down into her chair exhausted and waited for Dumbledore to arrive with further instructions.

Kimi stood in the entrance hall watching all the action taking place outside. She had walked out of the kitchen and saw someone run outside fallowed by a couple professors. Kimi had wondered what was going on so stepped to the side of the door near a window somewhat out of site just in time to see her own head of house run by. Interests peeked she watched as the spells flew then as it stopped. "Well that was interesting, can't recall seeing them move that quick in quite a while."

Kimi just stood there watching to see if anything else happened as eventually kids started entering the great hall she also saw her cousin Raidon trying to get outside only to get caught every time, "haha you baka!" Kimi laughed as she herself walked into the great hall nothing else was gonna happen that she could see outside so she made her way over to the still empty Slytherin table.

Kimi watched as the professor's began to lead in the houses. Kimi looked around as the Slytherins were lead in, not spotting anyone to talk to she just rested her head in her hand waiting for info on what was going on. But when Snape walked off to return a while later dragging a loopy looking Dawn and deposit her at the Slytherin table she jumped up and moved down to a seat next to her and sat down. "Hey Dawn? You ok? You don't look so good. What's wrong?" Kimi asked in surprised worry for her friend.

[Jaquin Prokenstien]

Jaquin was glad that he had kept his bag of advanced magibiology, biology, genetics, and care of magical creatures books with him. It looked as if the school was under attack. He tried to get into the Ravenclaw common room, but, like many others could not get in. He clandestinely crept down the stairs, unsheathing his wand at the same time while running a prodigious quantity of spells through his head, keeping the dueling spells and anything that was related to winter or ice. Jaquin simply loved the element of ice.

He reached the Great Hall to see many other people there. "Wonder where Perseus is?" thought Jaquin jokingly. "Hope he's not in trouble!"

[Perseus Feynman]

Perseus was at the entrance hall when he saw Snape literally fly down to the Dungeons. He was lucky to have gotten away from the d**** Death Eaters who had attacked several fellow Slytherins. Perseus had clandestinely slipped out with his trunk full of advanced calculus, physics, chemisty, potions, alchemy, and etc. (you got the jist) books, his Firebolt, and all his other belongings just before the fighting began (he was invisible at that time). Perseus looked out some of the windows and saw streaming lights that were unmistakabley spells. "Good luck, Professors," Perseus thought.

When he reached the great hall, he met up with Jaquin and asked, "Do you think that the DE's have reached all the common rooms?"

[Kim Sullivan H4]

Kim sat in the common room doing nothing at all but doodling on some parchments that were supposed to have been her charms homework. She couldn't quite figure out what exactly she was supposed to be writing about for her essay and she lost her notes earlier that morning. While she busily drew what was supposed to be a cat she didn't notice Professor Sprout's arrival until she began to call everyone over. Looking over the back of her chair Kim saw that the professor looked flustered. "Where we going professor?" Kim asked as she got up and walked over and joined everyone else.

Before she knew it she had entered the Great Hall and nearly the whole school was there already. Something was going on for sure. Some people were saying that a dragon was attacking the castle, others said that the ogres were loose in the dungeon. Kim simply shrugged and looked down the tables. Finding Valerie she went over and sat down next to her and her plates of deserts. "Hey Valerie, that looks good can I have some?" Kim asked as she grabbed one of Valerie's plates and began to eat her cake. With her mouth full of cake, Kim noticed that there was a Hufflepuff boy sitting next to her, how rude of her , she had taken the cake but not offered any. “Woob oof ikk suubm?” Kim said as she grabbed another of Valerie’s plates and pushed it over to Raidon.

Raidon looked up when a second year hufflepuff sat down next to him and started taking cake and offered in some with a few muffle words. "Oh don't mind if I do!" Raidon laughed as he excepted a plate from the younger hufflepuff, that she had taken from Valerie. "Little early for a midnight snake party so I guess we're all here for our own safety, how boring!"

Taking a large bite of cake Raidon swallowed and commented, "did you see the spells flying outside? The professors were trying to apprahend someone or something, it doesn't take a genius to see that." Taking another bight of cake Raidon looked over towards the windows he was still a head above most people even sitting down so his vision wasn't blocked that much but now there was nothing to see. "I think thats all we're going to know for a while cause the professors aren't gonna tell us anything only what they see is inportant for us to know which is of course practically nothing."

Raidon let out a sigh as he finished the rest of his cake in one bite and looked down at the girl sitting next to him, "oh sorry my names Raidon and yours is Kimi right? I think I heared another kid call you that before?" Raidon thought on that for a moment he deffiniatly new to many names and people, the problem is he had a hard time putting the names and faces together at times.

[Valerie Rice]

Valerie looked anxiously around the Great Hall as more and more people came in. Very soon nearly the entire school was there as well as several professors. Valerie paid little attention to all the rumors that were flying around the room though, soon they'd find out why they were here, why waste time in silly rumors. Valerie was soon joined by the rest of the Hufflepuffs. Watching in horror, Kim grabbed one of her slices of cake! "Hey...." Valerie started, but Kim soon took her other piece of cake! "umm..." she again started but Kim wasn't listening. Instead Valerie pulled her plate of cheesecake closer to herself so that Kim couldn't make a grab at it.

Looking up towards the teacher's table, there were quite a few professors now. Maybe soon they'd find out what was going on.

"Oh....uh..." Raidon looked from Valerie protecting her strawberry cheese cake to Kimberly still eating the peice she swiped to his empty plate. Looking somewhat abashed he questioned or rather stated "Um that was yours wasn't it?" Raidon rubbed the back of his head and then stood up quickly, "excuse me for a moment!" With that Raidon walked quickly over to the Gryffindor table and asked a 3rd year something.

About a minute later Raidon reapeared at the hufflepuff table with three plates louded with strawberry cheesecake levitating infront of him. With a wave of his wand the plates came to rest on the table. "Here you go," Raidon moved one of the plates infront of Valerie, "for all your stolen cake!" Raidon then moved the second plate infront of Kim, "and thats for you and this is for me." he finished pulling the last plate closer to himself.

"Depriving someone of their cake is wrong there for I had to make up for that. Besides the Gryffindor the cake was sitting infront of didn't even like strawberry cheesecake so I wasn't depriving him of any cause he was mutalating a peice of it out of bordom."

[Headmaster Dumbledore]

Albus Dumbledore walked down the hallway towards the Great Hall with several parchments in his hands and a couple of house elves at his heels who were carrying other parchments, books and scrolls. Every few steps he'd stop as Fawkes or an owl would arrive with a note from a professor or the Ministry. At long last he arrived at the Great Hall and pushed open the door. Walking through the hall he found nearly all the students were here, the key word was nearly. The students had to know what was going on and they should know from the school staff, not the Daily Prophet.

Stepping up to the podium he cleared his throat for silence. "Much has happened tonight and I am now going to inform you of the night's events. Earlier this evening in the village of Hogsmeade, an unknown number of death eaters attacked. Melantha Aradia, a Slytherin was killed behind the Hog's Head. Cassie Harper, a Hufflepuff was also killed in Madam Wells' Pet's shop as well as Madam Wells herself and a number of animals. The attackers then found a way to Hogwarts through a secret passageway. Presumably they tortured either Melantha or Cassie for that information. Once here at the castle, the Death Eaters killed our caretaker, Argus Filch along with Mrs. Norris, Jeselle St. John and Emily Greenlawn, both from Gryffindor, Giselle St. John from Slytherin, Madeline Brighton and Marcus Anthony both from Hufflepuff in the main entrance way. In the dungeons in a potions labratory, Sean Hawley, Symon Zalk and Vo Spader all from Gryffindor were found dead. Bianca De La Foe from Ravenclaw was found nearby on a stairwell. From there the attackers gained access to the Slytherin common room. Apparently that was their target as it was the scene of much destruction. Paige Spinnel, Pansy Parkinson, Ophelia Moon, Vincent Crabbe, Cedric Wood, Damien Walker and Jennifer Clark were all found dead."

Dumbledore paused a moment and shuffled through some parchments before continuing. "As this was such as serious breach of security, I've been told that the Ministry of Magic will post aurors on the school grounds from now until further notice. Also, students will no longer be permitted to leave the castle without proper supervision. I must also press everyone, if there is someone here who knows anything or possibly a location of another passageway, please tell a staff member immediately, we must make certain something like this can never happen again. Slytherins will be staying in the Great Hall tonight while their common room is inspected by aurors. All other houses are to go back to their common rooms right away, no wandering around tonight." Dumbledore then waved his wand and close to 100 sleeping cots appeared by the Slytherin tables.

Dumbledore then turned to the other professors. "I've sent Hagrid along with some aurors, they are going to close that passageway and begin searching for any others. I don't need to tell you to stay close to your houses tonight, your students will certainly need us tonight."
