Maryn sat on her bed placing her clothes in her trunk. For once, Maryn was not late. She was rather early actually. Maryn had decided days before not to be late for the train. She was always missing things and she hated that. When Maryn missed thing, she usually missed exciting things. Maryn was packing almost everything she owned. She sighed placing her socks in her trunk. She really didn't want to go home. Maryn's family live in a small house on a busy London street, but Maryn liked Hogwarts a lot better. She had never thought of her London house home. Hogwarts was always her favorite place to be. She hated going home for several reasons. One being she felt her parents didn't love her. They always hated that she was in Gryffindor and never understood her ways. Maryn always felt they were trying to control her. They never thought she was good enough. Maryn never understood why they viewed her like that. Did they think she was going to make the family Prophecy come true? She hated that stupid thing and wished in had never been said.
Maryn looked around her dorm. No Elisabeth in site. She wasn’t even sure if Des was going to sit with her and her friends, but she might. Des might sit with Thomas. However, Maryn hadn’t seen him around lately. She used to see him frequently, but not anymore. They shared many friends and during the summer, she saw him several times. But, he seemed to be missing in action. Maryn finally finished her packing and stood up her tall trunk. It wobbled a bit with everything in it. She laughed a second until she remembered something, her owl, Morgen. She walked over to her barn owl and smiled at her. Morgen loved Hogwarts and didn’t seem to want to go home. Maryn, opened the cage and patted the bird’s head. “You don’t have to go on the train.” She said nicely. Maryn reached for some parchment. “Here, take this to mum and dad and stay there until I get home.” She said as Morgen replied with a screech. “Good owl.” She said. Maryn then opened the window and watched as Morgen flew out and soared with the letter in hand. Maryn smiled, picked up her trunk and left her dorm with her jeans, and favorite pretty red hoodie on.
After arriving at the Hogsmead Station, Maryn help but feel butterflies. The last time she rode the train was when it was attacked. She didn’t want to relieve that again. Maryn and Elisabeth were hurt during the last attack. Maryn had severe glass cuts and Elisabeth had a sprained ankle. The whole event was not something Maryn wished to relieve ever again. The worst part of it was the four year that died. There was no reason that a Hufflepuff should have died. Maryn thought about that day a lot. Ever moment played around in her mind. From when Elisabeth first got hurt, when the glass shattered all over Maryn, and when Thomas came to help. Everything was so clear in her head, but she wished it would just go away. She wanted every event of that day to disappear forever. Maryn placed her luggage in the correct compartment. She sighed walking to find a seat.
Maryn walked through the train trying to find a compartment. She didn’t exactly know where to sit. She decided to walk towards the back, but when she reached Maryn turned around. She looked at the compartment where she and Elisabeth had been. She just couldn’t stand looking at the place where she almost met her fate. Just thinking about it made her sick. A lot more could have happened to her and her friends. Maryn was grateful most everyone turned out okay. Except for that Laura Pennington and an auror. Maryn hated to even think about them. She had seen Laura around school before and Maryn couldn’t process that she was gone forever. That day changed Maryn. She was even more determined to fight against the Death Eaters than she was before. She didn’t want her friends to end up like Laura. Maryn wasn’t going to let that happen. She found an empty compartment towards the middle of the train. It made Maryn more comfortable. She opened the compartment and sat in the middle away from any windows. She put her hands in her lap. Maryn was trying desperately to forget that day, but some how she knew she never could. Maryn just waited for her friends to show up. She knew they would make her feel better.

Cougar woke one morning from the chills. He leaned over and pushed him-self upright. He looked around, still half-asleep until he remembered that he'd be late for the train. He got up with a start, started gathering things, and checked his muggle watch to find that he had nearly two hours. He slowly picked his things into his trunk. He would dearly miss Hogwarts. He then thought, however of his dad and of seeing Maryn again after their last unusual meeting. He still needed to ask her what that was all about, but he could do that if he saw her on the train. He had to keep his mind on the matters at hand or else he would forget something. He packed everything, and stuck his wand into his pocket. He walked to where the train would be boarding, and it hit him how early, as no other students, hardly, were here. He walked aboard, and walked up and down the compartments trying to find a seat. As he was passing, he noticed two first years of different houses. He walked on a few compartments and saw Maryn looking slightly worried. He decided to join her.
Cougar slid the compartment doors open, and asked nicely, "Hi, d'you mind if I sit?" Cougar stood a minuet before it hit him like a bullet train into a brick wall. This was the place, only a few compartments back, where the death eaters attacked at the beginning of the school year. Cougar then also realized that Maryn had been one of the ones injured. He couldn't believe that she could bring her-self to even lay an eye on this train again. He waited patiently and cautiously for an answer.

Humming a muggle Christmas tune, Flo tossed the last of her things into her trunk. "Cold..It's cold!" Flo had forgotten that it wasn't a bright shiny warm day, but a chilly, icy day. Not that Flo minded. She got to wear her beanie! Flo grabbed her beanie and put it on her head. She had worn her hair in plats on the sides that day, and she had tied them with little hair ties with butterflies on them. Smiling, Flo made sure she hadn't forgotten anything. The cat. Flo giggled and called for Squibbles. She spotted him looking out a window, watching the birds fly past. Picking the cat up, Flo blew a few pieces of hair out of the way of her eyes.
When she got to the station, Flo spotted her brother, Tim, playing with his rat, Scoobers. Flo's eyes narrowed and she walked onto the train. Stupid rat. Flo thought to herself. She looked around and winced. It was scary being back on the train. Nope, It's not going to happen again. It's all in my head. Flo told herself. Finaly she got to the compartment where Cougar was standing at the door of. She looked at Cougar, and then into the compartment, to see Maryn. Flo smiled. "Hi Maryn!" Flo said happely. Flo tilted her head. Maryn looked sad a little. "Whats up? You look a little..." Flo searched for words, but couldn't think of any. So instead she Shifted her feet, so she was leaning on the other leg. She spotted Tim walking the other way, and Flo was relieved that he didn't walk her way.

“No Zaphani! Stop it! Arrrghh!” Leon screeched at his cat loudly, disturbing a few couples nearby having a last embrace before one left the other for the holidays. Looking down again, Leon scowled at his cat. Since his meeting with Flo by the lake, Zaphani’s evil attitude had turned almost happy, and he was now hyper all the time. Forever bouncing off of Leon’s dorm rooms at night, he continued to annoy him in the morning by jumping onto Leon’s stomach with all his weight. After returning a hiss from his black male cat, Leon stuffed him into a cat carrier, ignoring the cat’s protests. His bag was packed and almost ready to explode, so after setting another closing spell onto the trunk Leon pulled it and the carrier down the Ravenclaw stairs and out to the train. Although his moody attitude to his cat, Leon was very happy that day. Although he dreaded seeing his baby brother and parents again, he did feel a little happy about having a break from Hogwarts’s long corridors and floating ghosts. His sister, a first year, was staying in Hogwarts, though Leon didn’t really mind. She had spent years with the dreaded Harrow family while he was having fun at Hogwarts, and he did agree it was now the time to swap that around.
Pulling his luggage onto the train, he searched around for a place. Most of the compartments were empty, and he heard a voice he recognised as Flo’s, and headed towards it eagerly. He was right- it was Flo. He smiled widely at her, saying hello in a bright voice. Looking into the compartment she was gazing into, he saw his room-mate Cougar and Maryn. With a grin at them all, he stepped into the small ‘room’ and sat down beside Maryn, after chucking his case onto the racks above him and letting Zaphani sit on his lap, though he kept him far from Maryn’s owl. “So, how are you all? You don’t mind if I sit with you, do you?” Smiling as he waited for an answer, he stroked his cat slowly and gently, the cat purring like a machine.

Maryn gave out a weak smile as Cougar entered. She hoped he wouldn't ask any questions, but Maryn knew she couldn't give an answer. There last meeting had been very odd. Maryn had finally found the thing she had been avoiding at Hogwarts for three years. She knew the document was somewhere in the school, but Maryn never thought it would be in the courtyard. What if she didn't want to fulfill its wishes? She didn't. Maryn wished that whole thing would just go away. However, Maryn knew it was just like the the train ride at the beginning of the school year. She would never forget it and it would never leave her brain. It was stuck in her memory forever with no way to leave.
"Yea, sit." She gave the same weak smiled and then looked at the ground fidgeting her fingers. She couldn't stop them from moving. They just kept fidgeting. Maryn was afraid that something would happen again. Yes, Maryn, the Gryffindor rebel was nervous. It was odd for her to be that way as she often never was. Maryn then looked up as Flo entered. "Hey, Flo." She said feebly. "I'm, I'm fine." She let out. Maryn did want to talk about it,b but it was a hard thing to talk about. Many of her friends almost died. Maryn didn't know if she could handle life without them. She didn't particularly care about her own fate. She was more concerned for the people who were always there for her. Maryn looked out the window for a moment. It was icy cold outside. The the weather seemed to go along with the occasion, sad. It was a sad day because it was the first time to board the train since the attack. Maryn thought about that day in silence. Not leaving a single detail out.
Maryn gave out the simple little smile when Leon came in. "Hey, you can sit." She said nicely. Maryn looked at all of them. None of them had really been involved in the attack. As much as it hurt everyone, no one knew the pain of the people who had actually been in the back of the train. It was a scary day that Maryn had told her self never to relieve. She looked at all her friends calmly. "So, what are you guys doing for the holidays?" She said hoping they wouldn't talk about the train attack. Although, Maryn knew they probably would. She looked at them waiting for an answer.

Cougar took a seat opposite of Maryn. He was burning to ask her about what happened that one day. Cougar, however. thought better of it seeing the mood she was currently in. They sat there in silence. It was quite awkward, but Cougar could think of nothing to say. It wasn't long before Flo walked in closely followed by Leon. They both came in nodding their greetings. Cougar also greeted each with a "Hey". Maryn quickly asked the group a question to which Cougar replied," I'm going to stay with my dad in London. He's a muggle, but it would be nice to wind down a little, i guess. What about you all?" Cougar sat waiting for replies. His curiosity growing all the while

Leon smiled reassuringly as he noticed Maryn's almost sad expression. He didn't know everything about the attack Maryn had been caught in, but could tell she was remembering the tragic moment now. He listened as she and Cougar bot hspoke, then thought hard. How best to describe what would happen that Christmas? After a while of thinking, he spoke in a robotic tone, showing nothing on his stoney face.
"I'll be caught in the middle of my parents all the holiday long, them asking me questions about why I'm so stupid or why I'm not top of all my classes. Then they'll try to put me down as much as possible while my baby brother spills gravy over my cat, broom and clothes at the christmas table. And then Mum and Dad will laugh as Matt sets fire to the end of my broom, while Matt's owl scratches Zaphani to pieces." He smiled coldly, picturing the image in his head. "Yep, that's all my holiday will be. I won't be allowed out either, my parents will make me study all the time. Or babysit Matt while they by more toys for him." Scratching Zaphani's black ears, he smiled a little more joyfully, trying to make the atmosphere in the small compartment a little happier.
He didn't feel the slightest bit sad about the thoughts of being at home, even though he knew he would be miserable the whole time. He would just think hard of Hogwarts again, of quidditch and of chocolate, and ignore what terrible thing Matt was doing at that moment. Taking some a huge bag of Bertie Bots Beans from his bag he took one and offered the rest to his friends. "Gross!" He yelped loudly as he popped the bean into his mouth. "Mushroom! Just my luck..." He grinned and took another, breathing a sigh of relief as the taste of fresh Roast Lamb rushed through him.

Alyson threw a heeled shoe into her trunk her eyes traveling the room looking for the piar of earrings she had gotten for her birthday. Finding them behind a trunk she sighed knowing she was done packing. Her party only lasted a few seconds as she rembered she had to carry all seven to the train. Sighing again only with with disbelife this time. Hearing voices outsdie the dorm she saw a few first year boys and very sweetly asked them to arry her trunks. They instantly agreed and she gave the trunks to her.
As they entered the train she spotted a ompartment with her friends. Couger, Flo, Maryn, and Leon. She let the boys know she had it from there and let the go. Knocking lightly she opened the door and let her self in. " Hey people. I know ya'll are not haveing a party with out Alyson." She said playfully.

Flo had been i her own little land, her mind just empty. She was snaped back to rality as she heard someone come through to the compartment, and speak to everyone. "Huh? What?" She asked, looking around the compartment. She then looked at Alyson and smiled. "Hi!!" She said cheerfully, and moved over so she could sit."So...what were we talking about?" Flo asked everyone else. She had forgotten that Maryn had asked about everyones holidays, and had missed what everyone else had said, completly. Flo looked around at everyone. She had a feeling she had missed something. "Sorry, I was off in my own world." Flo told everyone.

Rosaliz was out of breath. Her face was extremely pale with rosy red cheeks. She felt as if she was going to be sick in the stomach. Her hand was clenched on one of the train compartment door handles. She was gripping on to it hard so she wouldn't lose her balance on the moving train. She had been exhausted from running all mourning since she got on this train. She was furious that she hadn't even had time to pack her trunk correctly. She then heared hard panting quick foot steps coming from behind her. "UH-oh" she screamed running down the train's hall again. Her heart was pounding heavily and quickly. Every breath she took was heavy. "I gotta hide" she thought. "I gotta hide" The thought of her getting tortured by Monica again wasn't a very pleasant picture for her. "what does this girl want?" she thought. All of a sudden she tripped over her own shoelace, falling hard onto the floor, face flat. Rosaliz had no time to rest. She quickly scrambled onto her feet and continued running. "Leave me alone!!!" Rosaliz yelled. She continued running until she couldn't hear the panting of Monica's "Finally I lost her" Quickly she opened the compartment door she first grabbed and budged in.
She sat down in one of the chairs catching her breath. Not knowing who was in the compartment. She then looked around. She knew almost everybody there. She then said catching her breath "Sorry for coming in like this." She stopped and coughed. She then continued her sentence. "I was running from not getting hurt of Monica. But I think she's gone" After a few minutes that she finished catching some air. She looked around she was happy to see everybody she knew. She gave them a grateful smile and then introduced herself to Leon. "Hi. I'm Rosaliz Gryffindor second year." She then looked around. Guys I'm sorry for me coming in rude like this but here is where I can hide from now. Is it okay?" she asked. Rosaliz took a large gulp.

As Alyson wandered in, Leon grinned at her, and welcomed her in. Leon was then just about to answer Flo in a cheerful tone and a smile at her dozy form, when the doors burst open. In strode another girl, who looked out of breath and extremely scared. Calming Zaphani as he jumped up to sniff the intruder, Leon wiped the smile off of his face.
As Rosaliz introduced herself, Leon did the same and offered her one of his Every Flavour Beans. He looked up in shock as she spoke about being hurt, and looked out onto the train corridor. A small first year boy ran past, his large shoes making him sound louder and Leon guessed this was who Rosaliz had thought was chasing her. Returning to the compartment and calming Rosaliz, he tried to comfort her and seem friendly.

Flo blinked as she gathered what had just happened. Flo, had asked what everyone was talking about, because she was off in "La La Land" and it looked like Leon was about to reply, when Flo heard a crash, and someone had burst into the room. Last time someone had done that, It was Monica. But this time, it was Rosaliz. Flo was a little surprised of what ha happend. She was pretty sure evreyone else was shocked too. Flo and Rosaliz were the only ones in that compartment, that were there when Monica had come storming into the compartment.
"Rosaliz!!" Flo cried, suddenly standing up. "Are you ok?" I mean of course, sit!" As Rosa sat, Flo sat down too, hoping that she hadn't been running from Monica again. As Leon and Rosaliz introduced themselves, Flo looked at everyone else in the carrige. She hoped they weren't mad at Rosaliz. She had been Running From Monica, probably ever since she came to Hogwarts!

Rosaliz looked at Flo. "This was the first time I was able to sit since we go into this train." she said trying to calm down her breathing. She then continued "Monica's been after me, chasing me. She said I can't hide from her since she is going to search every compartment." With a worried look on her face she asked "has she come in here yet?" Obviously Rosaliz didn't want to get anybody hurt but how can she take up a fourth year slytherin?" She then looked around nervously, her body was practically shaking in fear.
Rosaliz stood up again. She could have sworn she heared Monica's voice shouting in rage. immediately Rosaliz staring crying. She didn't want to get caught nor hurt. How embarrassing it was for her to be crying in front of a boy she barely knew. She then took out her wand quickly out her pocket. "There's only one way to finish. If she wants to be like this then I'm gonna have to face it" Then she started heading for the compartment door shaking in fear.

Alarice made her way through the Hogwarts Express to the middle of the train. She needed a place to sit for she had gotton on late and the train was about to start. It was right before the Christmas holidays and Alarice was going home to her family to celebrate. Her mother, step-dad, and step-brother and sisters. Oh joy... She would rather shove her head down one of the u-bends in moaning myrtles bathroom lavatory than spend an entire break with them. Well, if her mother wasnt going to be there she wouldnt have even considered coming home. But since she was, and was looking forward to seeing her daughter, Alarice had to come home. Alarice began to turn into a compartment at random, and was about to ask if she could sit down when Rosaliz, another Gryffindor, appeared in the doorway, clutching her wand and looking scared half to death. "Are you okay?" Alarice asked.

Maryn gave a weak smile at the group trying to look normal. Cougar replied to her question and she looked at him thoughtfully. Maryn gave a little laugh at Leon’s long list of what he would be doing over the holidays. He was always so descriptive and Maryn liked that about him. She shook her head when he offered them Bertie Botts Beans. Maryn wasn’t particularly hungry. “I’m going home in London.” She said. Maryn then gave another sad smile when Alyson walked in. “Hey, sorry.” She said softly. Maryn looked out the window a bit and then back at the group. Flo seemed to drift off into another world and Maryn couldn’t help but give her signature giggle. She looked at all of them. They were great friend and Maryn was glad to have them. She was particularly glad no one had yet mentioned the attack. Just then, Rosaliz came in saying something about getting chased by Monica. She looked very tired and worried. “Rosaliz, are alright? Did she just chase you are hurt you?” She asked angrily remembering her encounter with the Slytherin. Monica had wanted to fight her just because Maryn bumped in to her. She didn’t mean to or anything. It was an accident and she apologized. However, Monica didn’t seem to care. Typical Slytherins Maryn thought. “Sure, it is Rosaliz. We can’t let Monica hurt you! I don’t care if she is a year older!.” She said abruptly. Monica was a total snob and Maryn wanted to hurt her. Rosaliz was nervous and even though Maryn wasn’t in a very cheerful mood, she was still going to protect her friend. She looked as Alarice appeared, but she just pushed past her to get into the corridor. Maryn was in a sort of weird trance. If she hurt Monica then her memories would be gone for awhile. Maryn angrily took her wand from her pocket. “Monica, get your Gryffindor hurting, spoiled bottom out here!” She screamed turning around at every angel looking for the Slytherin. Maryn seemed delirious, but she knew what she was doing. (Hey, sorry it took me awhile. Monica can come in if she would like. Then, Maryn doesn’t have to talk about the train attack or her strange run-in with Cougar. )

Monica was furious. She couldn't find that little gryffindor anywhere. She started searching from compartment to compartment searching for this little first year. As she went threw every compartment she slammed each door harder than the last one. Clenching hard on her wand she thought 'when it get this little first year I'm going to make her wish she never lived....where in the hell is this gryffindor?' suddenly she heared a voice calling her name. She looked down the train's hall. She say a girl she looked very familiar. Then Monica's temper raised even more wen she realized this girl was Maryn the one who bumped into her in Hogsmead during the summer vacation.
Monica came stomping down the hall. Towards this girl. Was she challing her? "OH NO YOU DIDN'T" she yelled. She then noticed Rosaliz was there. I see you both want to fight me, well you better watch out because you're playing with fire and when you do you BURN!!

Cougar accepted some of Leon's Bertie Bott's with a smile and a nod of appreciation. He then listen on to the other's conversation listen for a point for him to cut back in. He thought about how his dad would react. Probably enthusiastically, but who knows he might try to act all cool. After Rosaliz came in talking of some fourth year Slytherin trying to fight her, Cougar snapped back to reality. He listened to their conversation, and decided not to drift off again. Wow she really wants to do bodily harm to her. After to burst of an older Slytherin in the compartment. Cougar stood up almost as if he was watching him-self from another's perspective and corrected the girl, "That would be all seven of us." Cougar felt sorry now that he had dragged all of them in it, but if they had any heart or was any kind of friend they wouldn't mind helping this girl out. He waited wondering what would happen.

Flo sat silently, as Maryn started yelling for Monica to get inside the comparment. But as Monica burst into the compartment, Flo's eyes grew big. Monica looked mad. What was her problem!?! Flo had never seen someone that mad. Flo stood up slowly, still looking at Monica, Rosaliz and Maryn. Obviously, Maryn and Monica had come between each others paths. As Cougar Told Monica that it would be all seven of them facing Monica, Flo nodded. She wouldn't stand aside and watch as other hurt her friends. If they had something against one of Flo's friends, they had something against Flo.
"Monica, What IS your problem?!" Flo asked her, not really caring if she decided to throw insults at Flo. She wanted to know why Monica had been hunting Rosaliz all this time.

Leon was just about to comfort Rosaliz when Maryn yelled about the Slytherin, calling her to the compartment in anger. Shocked, Leon watched as the Slytherin did just that- striding in as if she owned the whole train. Everyone seemed to stand up for Rosaliz, Cougar including them all. Leon nodded, and, as Flo stood up, he stood with her. "God, not another one of those attention-seeking Slytherins! I've had enough of them! I'm with you, Flo." He scowled at the Slytherin, then smiled at his friends. He had, when he had boarded the train, expected a quiet ride. He was clearly very much mistaken.

Maryn held out her wand. She would never be the one to first cast a spell, but she would however threaten to. Maryn looked as Monica approached her. "Yes I did!" She yelled angrily at her. She watched as some of the others took her side willing to fight for Rosaliz. Flo asked what was Monica's problem and Maryn stared her straight in the eye. "I don't understand you Slytherins. You hurt people for what reason? Do you not understand that you are the one who looks like a fool not Rosaliz? I'm guessing you wanted to hurt her and make her look stupid well it turned out the total opposite." She said harshly. Maryn was tired of everything and her current issues were probably the source of all the anger. She continued to look Monica dead in the eye.
Maryn's wand didn't move one bit. It stayed stationary the whole time. It was sort of a threat, but Maryn was certain Monica wouldn't care. she would surely not be afraid of a Gryffindor, but perhaps she should be. "Why do you act this way? It's not helping anyone including you!" She screamed now angry. She didn't understand why someone would hurt Rosaliz for no particular reason. It was stupid and had no purpose at all. Maryn just looked at her waiting for someone to say something.
