Hi everyone! I want to get us organised again because I have been deplorably lax! Anyhow, a not insignificant number of our team members have upped and abandoned us! Our old Vice (Randy) is no more as a character, the exciting part of which is that we now have a new Vice - Chace Coxen! So... yey! *applauds Chace* We've also lost Harmony... who was a starting Chaser; Charles... who was a starting Seeker. Randy was a starting Beater. So the upside of this is that we can now move the majority of the reserve team to starting positions! Below is what I'm hoping will be acceptable for everyone: Team HufflepuffCaptain - Ivy Tunstall H7Vice Captain - Chace Coxen H7Chaser - Chace Coxen H7Chaser - Sophia Hallington H6Chaser - Ivy Tunstall H7Beater - Carson McGreggor H6Beater - Sydney Rawson H6Seeker - Finn Miles H6Keeper - Kael Collins H7Reserve Team Seth Wright H7I've moved Chace to a starting Chaser position, Carson to a starting Beater position and Finn to the starting Seeker position. Finn, I know that Carson really doesn't want to play Seeker which is why you're left as stating Seeker, but if you're not happy with that, we could put you in as Starting Beater (in place of Carson) - I intend to audition Sita for the team as a Seeker-Chaser so it wouldn't be a problem. Just let us know what you want and we can fit round it. Seth - sorry that I can't put you in the starting team! It's a shame because you now don't have a starting player on the team and you are an excellent asset in my opinion, but since you have Keeper as your main preferred position for Seth and Kael has been a Keeper for ages now, there unfortunately isn't any space on the starting team, I will try to organise that you'll be able to play a bit - hopefully quite a lot - in each of the games, either by putting you in as Chaser or switching Kael to Chaser/out of game for a while so that you can go in as Keeper. Hope that'll be all right for you. As far as our standings go... well, the situation is a bit dire, I have to admit. We're in fourth place with 0 points... and we need at least 180 points to draw even with the other teams as things stand at the moment... hum. There wasn't really much that we could do about the last match. Next match, we are up against Gryffindor who have some scary looking players, such as Melody with 6 experience points and Cassie and Scott with 5 experience points... but... we'll do our best! I am very determined. ;D I would suggest a practice before the match, but looking at how many posts people need to bump up their experience points, it doesn't seem like it would be very useful for the majority of the team - we don't have all that much time and posting in practice is always a bit slow. From a Hooch point of view, it would probably be a good idea to get the next game going so that it finishes before I go on my organ course at the end of March, so that's what I'm going to suggest to staff. So... can I check how many of you are going to be able to play? Please let us know any dates when you're not going to be around as much in advance as you can.

Hello all! Firstly, congrats to Chase . And It's sad we've lost so many team members recently, but...such is life I guess. Looks like we'll have to do lots of recruiting for next season... Secondly, I'm around till the end of March. I won't be here on the 24th or 25th as I'm in Durham (well, actually, I may be able to post on the evening of the 25th as I won't be getting back too late) but I think it should all be over by then. 4 weeks is quite a while. If it drags on that far, I won't be around as much from the beginning of April, given that I (and Izy, Viv and probably some others too) have really important exams this summer, and over Easter I plan to start studying for these exams. But I hope it'll be over by then, as I won't be around much till the 18th of June (last exam, woo!) once we're in April, and no idea what I'll be up to after then. That's just an advanced warning for a potential 3rd game of the season. But given that Izy is in the same boat as me, if not a worse one, I'm guessing there won't be any games in that time. Having a practice sounds like a good plan, to up the experience points, if nothing else. But I inderstand Izy's urgency to get the game over and done with ASAP.

I had already concluded the same as you. ;) So I've had plenty of time to be okay about it. It is a shame, though. I am, at heart, a Hufflepuff, and I do really want a main-team player. *sigh* Oh well. I've got to work to my characters. I only have two Quidditch-playing charries now, and I wish I could participate in the Gryff team. ;) I felt at a loss when Zara was dropped, but then Theo got the V.P. and I feel rather protective of Ravenclaw now... If that wasn't obvious enough already. :P
Anyway, go Hufflepuff! :D And yay for the people who have made the main team, and well done to Chace too, of course. ^^ I hope Hufflepuff manage to claw their way back in the next match!
As long as the match is before May (:P @ Izy & Kat) Seth will, of course, be participating if he gets put in. Yes, Izy, that should be good, please. :) I want to play as much as possible, even if Seth's against it. xD;; Then again, it depends on his stat rolls...

Indeed it does all depend on stat rolls. Thanks for the prompt replies, you two.

*salutes Miss-Captain-Izy and Sir-Vice-Chace* I can't think of a time I realistically should be banned from the computer because of school, so the only possible problem might be the imminent death of my internet. It happens far too often. Exams don't start till May and the only exciting thing on the school calendar is the retirement ceremony so, yes, Kael will be ready whenever you want him, Cap'n.

Theo's terrible habit of appearing where Oscar appears has seemingly spread to Aurora! :O Not that she stalks Oscar, no no no, I mean Kael. xD
Aurora wants to say GO HUFFLEPUFF! and she believes in all of you. She's also very apologetic about being a klutz that has no skill for Quidditch whatsoever. xD;;
Blah. Aurora's just happy Kael's face as made an appearance somewhere. *rolls eyes and laughs*
I think my RL loneliness is making my charries' possessiveness worse... :/

Yes, well. Kael might appear more often if Aurora would stop flirting with random boys. *huffs* For a Hufflepuff, Aurora has no loyalty at all. (But we all love her anyway, even though she's flirting with Stephen while Kael waits faithfully/hides from the socialness of the party in the Hufflepuff common room.)

Oi, I already said that she is not in any way flirting with Stephen! The thought is quite... well. Weird. xD;;
Nonono. You can blame her for flirting with Ian and AJ and Finn and Bryan, but never Stephen. Ooooeeer. xD
Aurora doesn't flirt anyway. She doesn't really know how. Her charm is natural and it's not her fault! Honest! :O

Here, here! Ready for a game, and I'm fine with being starting Seeker. Finn actually prefers it. I just made him Beater bc it was what was needed most at the time. Since Charlie left though, now it's Seeker. So... neither myself or Finn minds this switch.

Righty. People who have replied are in yellow. Please do reply if you're going to be able to play, Sydney/Carson. (Sydney, I do realise that you're busy - don't worry. Firstly, Sita has spoken to/pressurised Billy ( ) so the two of them are going to be auditioning together, I believe. Horaay! No new um... actual members on the team, unfortunately, but new charries will be helpful I'm sure. Unfortunately we don't have too many Huffles nowadays. And secondly, me and Chace have now received the stat rolls for the following game from Madam Hooch. I have to say, they don't look bad - which is not because I've fixed them, promise. I have better morals than that. But I'm still pleased with them. Kael Collins H7 3-5-5 Chace Coxen H7 4-6-5 Sophia Hallington H6 3-5-5 Carson McGreggor H6 6-6-6 Finn Miles H6 5-4-4 Sydney Rawson H6 2-5-1 Ivy Tunstall H7 6-5-3 Seth Wright H7 5-4-3 And the experience points that need to be assigned: Sophia Hallington H6 - 2 experience points Ivy Tunstall H7 - 3 experience points Seth Wright H7 - 1 experience point Starting line-up (for the moment). The asterisks show that exp. points need adding: Chaser - Chace Coxen H7 (4, 6, 5) Chaser - Sophia Hallington H6 (3, 5, 5) *Chaser - Ivy Tunstall H7 (6, (5+1=)6, (3+2=)5) Beater - Carson McGreggor H6 (6, 6, 6) Beater - Sydney Rawson H6 (2, 5, 1) Seeker - Finn Miles H6 (5, 4, 4) Keeper - Kael Collins H7 (3, 5, 5) Reserve Team Seth Wright H7 ((5+1=)6, 4, 3) So, tactics! Well, it does depend on whether our current Beaters turn up. It also depends on what rolls Sita and Billy get once they've auditioned. Obviously Carson's rolls are pretty fantastic, and Sydney's aren't bad either... but if they can't play then we're going to have to move some people around. If Gryffindor keep the starting line-up on the House Roster - they may well not do! - then they're going to have some pretty scary Beaters so I don't want too little firepower there or else we're going to get battered. Even one stat point difference seemed to make the Ravenclaw team more vulnerable to Bludgers. Keeper-wise. Kael's Dex isn't that wonderful and that's what matters far and above the most for Keepers. Seth with his experience point can have maximum Dex so... to be sensible then Seth will probably be substituted into the game pretty early on. Kael's Str and Dex combination will make him an okay Chaser though, so Kael, you should still get to play! - most likely because Chace will be needed as a Beater at some point; with his good Str score that seems quite likely. Righty. I shall stop talking for now because we don't have the full picture without Sita and Billy's rolls. Hopefully everyone will get to play - certainly I will try to make sure that everyone gets to play one of their characters as much as possible. Any thoughts welcomed! Sophia and Seth - please assign your experience points! Carson and Sydney - speak up if you're here!

*salutes*
Yay for good rolls! :D
Sorry, I can't be bothered to sign out. ;)
Anyhoo. Um, it depends on what you think, Izy... I need a good Str to pass back to Chasers, but obviously saving is kinda important so (as long as I keep that Quaffle out of the goals, lol)... I would be inclined to say Dex because my Str isn't awful. What do you think? If you agree, then yeah, Dex please. :)

Saving and Passing are both Dex, so since you're asking for my advice, I would say pretty definitely max. out Dex... you're probably going to be in as Keeper for most of the game, since Kael and Seth are our main Keepers and Kael's Dex isn't looking too good.

Ooooh. Yes. Um. Yes.
Sorry. I got rather confused with the Keeper skills just then... I'm so used to playing Chaser. ^^;;
Yes yes. Dex it is, then. :) Thanks.

Golly Jeepers! This thread as built up in one day! hahaha. Yes, I'm for sure around for Quidditch. ;D Honestly, Like i said to you the last match, Izy, that if you need me somewhere else- put me there. I don't mind play any position when I'm needed. & I like the idea of posting practice before the match. I only need 3 more posts to bump my points up! & for practice, just tell me when & i'll be there.

Oh excellent, Sydney! I wasn't sure whether you'd be around because I'd seen your other owl, but I'm really glad you are. It'll make things much easier with Beaters, which is definitely what you're going to be playing as whenever you're in the game, because your Dex roll is too low to realistically play as a Chaser and we do still need Beaters. The match is next Wednesday, 4th March I think next Wednesday is. So we don't really have enough time for a practice unfortunately. Sydney is the only player who would have any chance of getting to the next experience point level by practicing, so since I didn't think you were around I'd concluded that there probably wasn't much point. I do think that we will have a team practice though, maybe in April? Straight after this next match I hope we can try to fit one in.

(Pretend this is Finn rather than Drake ) I think a practice after the match would be great! Seeing that Gryff will have Scott and Melody next year as super powers, we need to get all of the non-7th years to have a lot of experience so that we can contend!

*throws rotten tomatoes at Slytherin, then cleans off with hosepipe and offers chair* Won't do to be unwelcoming, I s'pose. We could indeed do with some more experience points! What's the cap on them?

I don't think there is a cap on how many you can earn. You simply can't go beyond 6-6-6 for any match. So... I guess the most you would ever really need is 15 in the case that you roll 1-1-1, the worst possible roll. 15 would take you to 6-6-6.
