Name: Sophia Hallington
Blood: muggleborn
Age: 17
Year: 7th
House: Hufflepuff
Pet: Snowy owl, named Crazy
Wand: 9.5 inch Beech. Unicorn Hair.
Sophia has waist-length, wavy, strawberry blonde hair, with bright blue eyes. She is fairly short-just under 5 foot, and is slightly overweight, and has a baby-face! She could easily pass for a 1st year.
Sophia lives in one of the quiet, peaceful suburbs of Manchester, where she has lived all her life, with both her parents, James and Rebecca and her older brother, Aaron, who was born in March 1974 and never got the chance to go to Hogwarts. She was born on 24th December 1983.
Sophia is fluent in French, due to relatives in France, and having spent all of her holidays since she was 4 there. She loves learning foreign languages, and knows the basics of Spanish, German and a tiny bit of Italian. She is a competent ballroom/Latin dancer, and was most dissappointed when she had to stop lessons to come to Hogwarts. She also reads a lot, all sorts of books, but her favourites are fantasies and ‘realistic fictions’.
She enjoys practical jokes, and playing wizard chess, although she's not too good at it! She likes to think she has a good sense of humour, and that she is generally a nice person, although she can be rather annoying! Hence she only has a few close friends! She is also rather shy, and until recently wasn’t very comfortable when meeting new people. However, in the summer before her 4th year, she decided that she would try to be more confident.
She has generally had a rather good and comfortable life, with no major events. She was never top of her class in anything at her primary school-a small school, a 5 minute walk from her house-except maths, and she was also quite good with plants and animals. Thus her 3 favourite subjects are Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology. She is very weak with the Dark Arts, and pretty weak with Potions too. She struggles with the late-night Astronomy lessons too. Charms and Transfiguration are middling, and she is fairly good with History of Magic, surprisingly finding it interesting.
She has never been bullied, except for on the Hogwarts Express on the way home after her 3rd year, when she was tormented by Vincent Crabbe, but she didn’t let that get to her too much, seeing as he was then a 7th year, and not coming back. She came back to Hogwarts a more confident and assertive girl, and will no longer let as much phase her.
When she got her letter, everyone in her family was surprised. They had no idea that Hogwarts existed, and they didn’t even know that Witches and Wizards existed, even. However, Sophia gratefully accepted the invitation, and has had a happy 4 years at Hogwarts, as a keen Hufflepuff. She's not the most academic of students, nor is she very social, but Sophia enjoys her time at school, despite often being disorganised and slightly behind with homework. She hates getting into trouble, hence why she aims to do her best and be helpful in all her lessons.
