Biography:
Billy was born on the 15th June 1985 in Dublin, Ireland (where he still lives), to parents Michael Brady, a muggle and Shelia Faraday, a pure-blood witch. He is an only child, but he is not lonely, as he made many friends while at primary school which he sometimes still keeps in contact with, and he has made many friends while being at Hogwarts.
Michael came from a family that had been in the same town in Dublin as long as the censuses and older family members could tell them, going back to the 1800s. Michael is fluent in Irish Gaelic, and Billy knows a fair amount, having learnt it in primary school, and having been spoken to it by his father at home. Billy was brought up with Roman Catholic teaching from his father, although his mother, being a witch, wanted him to be brought up an atheist, as there was a great chance that he would end up becoming a wizard. However, his father believed that Billy would be a normal boy, and go to a standard school.
His mother had attended Hogwarts in her school days, and had been in Gryffindor, like the rest of her family. She’d lived in London until she’d finished school, then she decided to go and live in Ireland, where she’d visited several times before, and loved. While there, she met Michael, married him after 3 years, then 2 years later fell pregnant with Billy. She now works for the Ministry of Magic in the “Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures”, working in the “Centaur Liason Office”. She was convinced from the moment he was born that Billy would end up going to Hogwarts, and hoped that he would be a Gryffindor, although she didn’t mind what house he ended up in.
Billy himself is a very friendly boy. He finds it very easy to make friends, in all houses. His best friend (though he also has several other friends in his own house too, and a couple of Ravenclaw friends), is Gryffindor, and the two of them have got on very well since the day they met. Over the past three years, they have gotten themselves into many bouts of mischief. Both of the boys are very outgoing and cheeky, though Billy is sweeter and cuter than his friend, and often has to hold him back, as he stops at nothing. He is more of a flirt than Billy, but secretly Billy has a crush, and has done since he first saw her, on Harmony Chan, a Hufflepuff girl in his year.
In his spare time, Billy likes to make mischief, whether alone or with a friend or group of friends. He knows his limits, and although he likes causing trouble, he’ll only go so far, and he hates actually getting into trouble for things he does, unlike his best friend. He loves joke shops, both muggle and wizarding, and whenever he goes out to the shops the joke shops are always his main priority, and he never leaves them empty handed. He also loves skateboarding, and spends a fair amount of time at the local skate park with some of his old friends when he’s not in school.
He hates being bored when at home, and always makes an effort to go out somewhere almost every day. When he can’t go out, for whatever reason, he spends a fair amount of time trying his new practical jokes out on his parents, which they don’t appreciate at all, and heb also likes playing video games, like many boys of his age. Although he doesn’t enjoy it, he often ends up doing household chores for his parents, who tend to be quite strict with him, making sure he does his fair share of work, and to a good standard.
Billy has always been a lively boy, and he enjoys sports. Aswell as skateboarding, he enjoys football and hockey, and he played for his school teams when at primary school. He has a keen interest in quidditch, although he isn’t a particularly strong flier. He can play the game, but he prefers just to watch from the sidelines, supporting his housemates, with his strong Hufflepuff pride!
Billy is pretty average academically at Hogwarts. His strengths lie in Transfiguration, Defense against the Dark Arts and Divination, which he chose as an option from his 3rd year onwards. He is also fairly good at Charms and Astronomy. He dislikes potions, and finds it difficult, and he rarely passes History of Magic exams as he finds it hard to concentrate in the extremely dull lessons. He enjoys working outdoors, hence why he chose Care of Magical Creatures, but, as with Herbology, he finds it hard, He is determined to get passing grades for both of them in his OWLs.
Now entering his fourth year, he hopes that the next few years will be as enjoyable as the past three, and he hopes that although the workload will greatly increase, he will still have plenty of time to spend with friends, and make mischief.
