Physical Description:
Of Asian decent, John has the typical dark hair and dark eyes. He's average height and build with slightly pale skin. His hair is medium in length, covering most of his forehead and often his eyes. He wears fairly simple clothing, not wishing to draw a lot of attention to himself. Overall, his face is quite handsome yet simple.
Biography:
Born to a single mother, John was adopted as a baby by a middle class couple from London. The couple, unable to have children, were more than thrilled to welcome the newborn into their home. They cared for him to the best of their abilities, always providing him with the essentials and a loving environment. John seemed to fit well with the couple, and together, they made a nice little family.
However, at the age of eleven, life as he knew it would never be the same for John. He got a letter from a school, but not just any school. It was a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. John was a wizard.
During that same time, when his parents were tying to figure out if they would let John attend the school, a man showed up at the Wesley household, claiming to be John's uncle. His name was Hae-Jin Pak, brother of Han-Me, John's mother, and he wanted to take John with him back to Korea to study magic.
At first, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley were not fond of the idea, but after much convincing, Hae-Jin was able to make a deal that would allow him to have John for most of the year, providing occasional week long visits back to London.
In Korea, John learned all that he knows today about magic by studying with his uncle. Most importantly, he became an expert of magical creatures which was his uncles specialty as well. During that time, John developed a very close bond with his uncle, almost viewing him as a father figure.
It was during one of his visits home that John decided to visit Hogwarts, the school he was meant to attend years ago. While at the school, he found out about the opening for a COMC professor. With hesitation, he applied, not wanting to leave his uncle. However, he was offered the job, and after much consideration, decided it was an opportunity he couldn't pass up.
Personality:
John is an average guy on most fronts. He takes life seriously, but not too seriously. His job is important to him, but most of all, he values the few that he calls family. Aside from his uncle and his adoptive parents, John has a few cousins and other close family that he would do anything for. He is a very selfless person, often putting the interests of others before his own. He can tend to be a little obsessive when it comes to cleanliness, but he doesn't let that control him.
As far as social skills are concerned, John is more introverted than extroverted, but doesn't lack the ability to interact with others in a social situation. He's somewhat reserved, but loves having fun and being able to relax and enjoy life. When he is passionate about something, he might tend to lose his temper slightly, but it's mostly resolved with a few choice words and then quickly forgotten.
John's interests have always been centered on magical animals, but he also enjoys much of the muggle technology that he grew up with when living with his adoptive parents. John spends much of his free time alone, but that doesn't mean that he's not interested in finding someone to eventually share that time with.
As far as his teaching style is concerned, John is patient, yet firm. He expects his students to take their lessons seriously if they are to be able to learn all that he has to offer. He's more than willing to help a student in need, but expects respect in return.
