Let's all welcome Adam!
Who has been role-playing for 5 years.
And currently plays a lot of charries.
ADAM JAMES GREENE
Professor of Arithmancy & Ancient Runes
The Basics:
Blood: Pureblood
Age: 20
School Attended: Hogwarts, Slytherin
Pet: Black Owl - Ebon
Wand: 11 inches, Bloodwood, Phoenix Tail-Feather
Physical Description:
Adam has a slender build and stands at an average height for his age. His short length medium blonde hair is usually quite messy, and his face looks somewhat long and narrow. His eyes are a dull blue color and his skin is fair. When he smiles, there are two distinct dimples on his cheek with the left being more prominent than the right. He often has a light layer of scruff on his face, a result of his busy life and lack of time to pay too close attention to his appearance.
Personality:
Overall, Adam has a kind nature and a quiet demeanor. However, throughout his years at Hogwarts, he found it tough to fit in socially. His shy social skills paired with his unlikely personality for a Slytherin made it tough for him to find people who would accept him for who he was. His favorite classes while at Hogwarts included History of Magic, Muggle Studies, Arithmancy, and Potions while his least favorites were Herbology and Divination. In his spare time, Adam likes to read and draw, although his art skills are not the greatest. He also enjoys physical activities, but mostly those that are independent like running and hiking. As a teacher, Adam is quite laid back, yet head strong. Being that he was recently a student himself, he knows the many different tricks and games that they play, so he doesn't tolerate those who are not there for learning. He's quite observant to detail, and he likes to make sure that people understand things before moving onto another topic. As for homework, he doesn't assign a lot, but he expects that what little he does assign is done with the the appropriate amount of effort needed to do well.
History:
Adam James Greene was born to James and Tressa Greene on August 4. Both James and Tressa came from rich, pureblood families. Adam was their first child, and five years later they had a daughter, Sierra Dawn Greene who is also a student at Hogwarts.
Being born into the Greene family had many affects on Adam's life. Since the Greene's were very wealthy, neither his father or mother had jobs. Instead, the often traveled or spent their time with random groups of other rich purebloods. For this reason, Adam grew up as a very distant child. He was quiet and reserved. Oddly, he was well-behaved and often exhibited exceptional kindness. Being responsible for Sierra when his parents were away, Adam quickly developed a maturity level that was well beyond his age. He and Sierra didn’t always see eye to eye, yet they knew that they were all each other had for the most part.
When Adam turned eleven and got his letter of acceptance from Hogwarts, he was quite excited. Ready to escape his redundant life at home with his apathetic parents, Adam was looking forward to a change of environment. Most importantly, he was happy to have a chance to make something of his life. His ambition to break away from the style of life that he grew up knowing was strong.
Adam was sorted into Slytherin, as part of him feared he might be. In ways, he knew it would make his parents proud, but in others he knew he was nothing like the stereotypical Slytherin that he had always heard of. Knowing it was his ambition and drive to succeed in life that landed him in the Slytherin house, he vowed to do his best to make the most of his situation.
Approaching his seventh year, Adam was mostly concerned about finishing his time at Hogwarts on a positive note. He had a job lined up at the Ministry of Magic where he hoped to advance through the political positions and someday reach his ultimate goal of being Minister of Magic. However, many events in his seventh year of Hogwarts were unexpected to say the least. After quickly falling for a peer by the name of Dixie Holden, Adam had his world crash around him literally when he was in a car crash that left him without his memories of Dixie. Shortly after, Dixie left for Paris and a confused and frustrated Adam turned to very person who caused the car accident in the first place- Raelee Gray. Emotions and feelings soon became complicated as Adam found himself falling for her as well. To top it all off, Adam received news of his parents' arrests just before his graduation. With the mix of his memories of Dixie, his feelings for Rae, and the responsibility of caring for Sierra, Adam approached his life outside of Hogwarts with his hands full. Suddenly the thought of working at the Ministry seemed hopeless as Adam struggled to pull his life back together.
Eventually, things started to work out for him though. He did take his job at the Ministry, while purchasing his own flat. As for his relationships, Adam managed to heal things with Dixie when she returned from Paris, and he realized that it was her that he loved all along. Lucky for everyone, Rae seemed to know this and so when Adam told her that he needed to be with Dixie, she understood. Relationships were reconciled on all accounts, and for a while, life seemed to be going smoothly. Then, Adam started to hate his job at the Ministry. It ended up being nothing like he had expected. In a last minute decision, he decided to apply for the Arithmancy teaching position at Hogwarts. It was a class he always loved, and he was desperate to find what his dreams really were since he realized that they didn't exist within the Ministry. He got the job, but had kept it a secret from everyone until Christmas. During a party that was hosted by Rae, Adam both announced the news of his new occupation while also asking Dixie to marry him. He bought a small cottage in Hogsmeade where he and Dixie would live.
It wasn't long until life threw Adam a variety of curves. Lessons in life and death would be learned by himself and all of those around him. A tragic accident killed his friends Clayton Daniels and Bryce Alexander shortly after Adam found out that he was going to be a father. He didn't take either of the incidents very well, and his doubt about being a father only drove he and Dixie apart. Eventually though, he came to his senses and accepted the fact that together he and Dixie would work to be the best parents they could be.
It didn’t take long though for things to get crazy again, and when James Greene (Jamie) was born, Adam found that being a father was harder than he imagined. Dixie again moved to Paris, leaving Adam alone for the second time. This time, there was no Raelee for him to fall back on. As well, he picked up an extra responsibility at work through an additional class as he became the professor of Ancient Runes as well as Airthmancy. Though he and Dixie tried patching things up again, they both came to the conclusion that it was best for them to live separate lives. So, while she pursued her dream to be a fashion designer, Adam continued his teaching at Hogwarts, getting to spend summers and the occasional holiday with his son Jamie.
