Cheers kept falling on his ears and threatened to take him away from the task at hand. While the whole school was at the Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor game, the Lehanes were not. A week ago Madam Hooch had approached them and asked them if they would be willing to commentate at the game. Although Wynd liked neither Hufflepuff nor Gryffindor, he had signed up to be a commentator and therefore had to be present at the games he was less than interested in. Still, Quidditch was Quidditch. It would be interesting how the brand new Hufflepuff captain and the newly appointed Gryffindor captain would handle their respective teams. Before Wynd was able to form a thought in his head how to respond to Madam Hooch, Ruby pleasantly thanked her but declined. Wynd knew better than to rebuke his sister in front of someone so he just smiled and nodded.
After Madam Hooch muttered something about having to find someone else and left them in peace, Wynd turned sharply toward his sister. She was ready with a response. She would have felt his surprise even if Madam Hooch was unable to discern it from his face. This brought them to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom while the school was attending the game. They both sat on either side of one of the desks. Between them sat a book. The book they had inherited through Pyro Blackfire. It was their seventh year. Soon they would be out of school and would be able to put their plan into action. However, they still needed to unlock the secrets of the book. Pyro had been successful in unlocking some of its secrets but the Lehanes had planned to unlock it fully.
This was much more important than any silly Quidditch game. Much much much MUCH more important. So why then, did he have to keep telling himself as much? Surely the outcome of this game would not affect him in the long run. This object, this book of knowledge would help shape his life. Not Quidditch. NOT Quidditch. He heard a loud roar from the crowd, he couldn't help it, his eyes flicked toward the castle grounds. Surely Ruby could feel his impatience. They were always good at sensing each other. She was intent on doing this now. It needed to be done. They had to gain knowledge from this mysterious object. They had to. Focus, he told himself.
