Raina picked through her book, Quidditch Through the Ages, like she was trying to pick the good parts out. She had probably read the book a million times over the course of her life, but she still took the time to pick through the old standard found in most wizarding households. You never knew what interesting fact you might have missed the first time, or notice one of your favorite players flying through a picture. The book always held a different surprise. Even though her hopes of becoming a quidditch player were dashed long ago, she still loved the sport. How could she not? It was the family business what with her brother and father both being professional players. At the moment, Raina was waiting for her older brother, Finn, to get done with quidditch practice. Finn seemed to be following in her father’s footsteps. He was the captain of the Hufflepuff team, and wanted to play professionally as well. Raina just hoped his dreams wouldn’t be dashed. Even though Finn wasn’t as good as her brother, Wyatt, on the fiend, she was pretty sure the last name Miles would land him on a team somewhere.
It was actually a pretty dismal day, and she worried that Finn might catch a cold. That was the problem with quidditch players. They were willing to play in any weather condition, and it sometimes led to unpredictable problems. Raina’s patience was starting to wear thin when she saw several people in yellow robes walk down the hallway looking very wet. It had apparently started raining while the team was on the pitch. Finally, she saw her brother come around the corner. Finn looked water logged, but a huge grin had plastered itself across his face. The Hufflepuff team must have performed well at practice. “I see that you are happy,” called Raina down the hallway. She felt a smile cross her face. Finn’s smiles were always infectious. “So, big brother, are you going to tell me why you’re so happy?”
