Nearly a month into his final year at Hogwarts, and Scott couldn't believe how fast the end was coming. It seemed like only yesterday he was a first year, entering the Great Hall with more trepidation than a scared puppy, a third year, balancing a struggling social life with his studies, or a sixth year, finding out just how complicated friendships and relationships could be. Now, as a seventh year, perhaps he still had a lot to learn, but Scott was changed nonetheless by each previous year. Who knew what this year held. He was still no more certain about his future after Hogwarts, but Scott knew he had a lot of options. His grades were decent, his Quidditch fairly strong, and even his skills in the muggle world were notable. Sadly, he hadn't a clue what he really wanted to pursue though. Lucky for him, there was still time to make a plan.
As he toted a few books out to the courtyard to enjoy the evening weather and get some reading done, he saw the familiar blonde hair of Theo Darke. It had been a while since the two of them had talked. Life seemed to have let their friendship drift apart. Not to mention, their sixth year had dealt the two of them, Lori, and Oscar enough drama to fill the restricted section of the library. But, even amidst all of that, Scott still viewed Theo as a friend, even if they hadn't spoken in a while. He contemplated it for a second, but was soon walking toward the bench that Theo was sitting on. Scott owed him a word of congratulations for making Head Boy.
"Theo," he said in acknowledgment, grabbing a seat in the bench opposite the Ravenclaw. Scott plopped his bag down beside him, refraining from pulling out any of the books as he threw his hands behind his head and leaned back comfortably. He let out a small sigh, catching his friend's eye when he finally looked up from reading. "How's seventh year treating you?" Scott had seen Theo in a few of their N.E.W.T classes, but he knew Theo's load was a lot bigger than his. Scott had only kept the subjects that he was best at to help him focus on his strengths. Not to mention, he had Quidditch to worry about, but so did Theo. While Scott was busy in all aspects, it seemed Theo was just a level more involved in everything. That was Theo though, and Scott admired his drive. "Congrats on Head Boy, by the way. Don't think I wished you luck yet." He smiled, hoping that Theo would find it as easy to pick up their friendship after suck a long break in talking.
