{Everyone remember, two practice posts counts towards one in game post towards your Xp points. So be sure to post as much as you can! As we won't be rolling any dice for this match, the seeker can decide when he catches the snitch, and the beaters can decide when they hit someone. Try to be fair and not be successful with all of your attempts. The same counts for August and myself, he can decide whether the goal is scored, etc.}
Roger woke that morning, squinting at the sun's rays that flickered through the wispy, white clouds and spilled its warmth into the Ravenclaw common room. "Sun and fluffy white stuff on the ground?" he thought to himself, as he tried to sort out this unusual sequence of events. Perhaps it would start getting warm again soon, or perhaps it was just a one off. The past month had been cold and frozen, and despite the occasional days in which Roger had followed Matthew outside the castle to play happily in the snow with him, the majority of the Christmas holidays had been spent, for himself at least, curled up comfortably on the large squashy armchairs that surrounded the roaring, flickering fireplace in the common room. Whatever the case, the sun had woken him from his peaceful slumber, and now that he was awake he would most certainly not be able to sleep again, mainly because of the bright light that now filled the room and also because of the smell of freshly cooked food that met his nose from somewhere in the castle. "Breakfast!" he thought, as he jumped off the couch he has been sleeping on, and carried his tiny body upstairs to the dormitory in which Matthew slept.
"Oh come on!" he thought to himself, as he bounced up and down on Matthew's bed, trying but failing to wake him up. So far all he had received was a long and confused yawn, before he had rolled over and the loud snores started to get up again. "So I get woken from my amazing dream of kippers and warm fires by the dratted sun in my face, and you get to stay in your bed?" no, this was most definitely not fair. Action would have to be taken.
"OW!" Matthew woke that morning with a sharp pain rising in his ear. Roger had decided to wake him, yet again. "Next time can't you just wake me up by bouncing on the bed or something Roger, honestly, I don't know why you have to scratch my ear to wake me every morning" He rose from his bed, pulling on trousers, socks, shirt and jumper before he located his Quidditch robes and broom and set around the dormitory attempting to locate his shoes. Today was Quidditch practice, and like any responsible Vice Captain, he had spent the entire of last night finishing and perfecting his plans for the session today. At last locating his shoes deep underneath his bed, Matthew lifted himself up and walked out the room, calling Roger after him.
"Alright everyone listen up!" Matthew called, standing next to their captain, August, they both stood in front of the other three players. "Now, we only have five players on our team, so listen up! The next match could be either us or Slytherin, so we need to be prepared. We don't have a full team, but that is no reason not to train. We've got to focus hard on getting as good as we can get, and leave the recruitment of new players to August and myself!" He hoped they would listen, he was an incredibly young vice after all. "Now, I've created some exercises we can practice today, it has been specially adapted to suit the five of us, but it will still test and strengthen the skills that we need. At this, he held out the team's roster which he had acquired from August.
Chaser - Empty.
Chaser – Matthew Dorm R3
Chaser - Empty.
Beater – Ephraim Eades R7
Beater – Celes Sorrenson R5
Seeker – Williard Thoth R3
Keeper – August Reid R6
After he was sure the team has all understood the new lineup, he moved onto explain the exercises they would be doing today. "The first exercise today will allow us to practice how quickly our seeker," he smiled at Williard, "can locate the snitch, and how many goals I can attempt to score withing this time. We will have one chaser, myself, attempting to get goals past our keeper August. Ephraim, our beater, will keep the pressure on me with one of the bludgers and try and stop me from scoring as many as goals as I can. At the same time, we will have our seeker, Williard, try and locate the snitch whilst our other beater, Celes, keeps the pressure on him with the other bludger. Once the snitch is caught, the amount of goals scored will be recorded and this our target to beat next session. Our second exercise today will test our seekers skill under pressure, allow our beaters to work and coordinate together, and August and myself to practice one on ones and passing. We will have August and myself practicing one on ones, whilst our seeker attempts to locate and catch the snitch and both beaters keep the pressure on them with both quaffles. As we only have one chaser at this moment in time, after August and myself feel we have practiced enough one on ones, he will switch to chaser and allow me to practice passing sequences."
Matthew, looked around at the team, making sure they understood, and glanced at August, wondering if he approved. "Right then, let's do this everyone, and beaters we don't want anyone injured, so be careful, exercise one first!" With that, the brooms were mounted, everyone flew to their positions and Matthew yelled to initiate the start of the practice. Heading towards the large hoops with the quaffle firmly grasped is his hand, he shot forwards, keeping a wary mind out for the bludger that was no doubt flying towards him.
