The usual busy streets of Diagon Alley were surprisingly quiet as the rain poured down from the dark clouds above. Most people kept themselves confined to the shops, but every now and then someone could be seen running through the rain from one shop to another. Leaving a potions shop, a lone figure turned and began walking down the alley. With his black cloak on and his hood covering his head and face Cole Waters walked at his usual pace through the down pour. Unlike other people he wasn't afraid to get a little wet. His black shoes keeping a steady rhythm as the tapped against the cobblestone, Cole thought about what he had left to do that afternoon. I went to the potion shop and picked up ground moss, he thought to himself, and I stopped at the book store and got Jeremy his book. Now all I have left is to stop at the junk shop to see if they have anything good in. Walking a few yards more Cole turned and stepped into a small shop on his right.
As he came in dripping wet a bell rang above his head. Closing the door and stepping to the side as he dripped water on the floor. Taking off his hood, Cole shook his head shuffling his hair around. His face was as pale as ever, which made it easier to see the scar above his eye and the one across his neck. Taking a deep breath the scent of mildew smacked him right in the face. The junk store was a place where people took old items to try and salvage some money for them. It was full of broken wands, lopsided scales, holes with cauldrons, and pretty much anything else people were trying to get rid of. Cole wasn't the kind of person who liked hammy downs, but every now and then he came across a treasure that someone else didn't want. One time he had found a book full or curses that he wasn't allowed to learn at Hogwarts. Unfortunately his mom found it a week later and gave him a good beating. Another time he found a bag that hid items that were stored in it from anyone other than the person storing.
Beginning in the front corner of the shop he began to walk in and out of the aisles looking for anything good. Every now and then he would see a person go around a corner, but it was very quiet in the shop. Making his way around he saw a lot of the usual things, books, bottles, hats. And every now and then he would see something worth looking at, like a lamp made out of a dragons tale. He also saw a self brushing hair brush that he thought of getting for Dawn, but when he tried it the brush took three strokes then fell to the floor.
Making another turn around a corner Cole noticed another person in the aisle, a boy, rather a young man standing and looking at something. Minding his own business Cole began to look at the things on the shelves. Slowly he walked down the aisle as did the young man in front of him. With his eyes on the shelves Cole noticed to late that the aisle was to narrow for the two of them to pass walking normal and they bumped shoulders which in turn made Cole's other shoulder hit a glass bowl and knock it off the shelf. With his natural keeper instincts Cole quickly reached out with one hand and grabbed the bowl. Instantly after grabbing it he turned around and said "Watch it would you."
