Hey Everyone!
It's that time again where we check to see who's here and who's not. However, this census will be a little different than normal. With the recent update and revamping of the board, this census will require a bit more effort on the part of the members, as we'll need you all to provide a bit more information that normal to ensure that our site is properly updated! With your help, we're going to make sure all links, lists, etc. are up to date. The little bit of additional work from you will make the staff work for us a lot easier, and we appreciate it greatly. :]
All the following is due by September 4. Also, all year changes should be done by this date as well.
1. Please list all of your current characters that you want to keep, including their house and year like this: Finn Miles H7. If you plan to move them up a year and have not done so yet, please indicate with a small asterisk, like this: Finn Miles H6*. We will assume you are moving them up one year. However, if you plan to move them up multiple years, please indicate what year they will be for the upcoming school year.
2. Aside from listing your active characters, please make a note of any character accounts that you'd like to keep which have 0 posts. Perhaps you created an account for a character and never got around to getting them approved or posting. We normally delete all inactive accounts with 0 posts, so this is your chance to make sure we don't delete any account you want saved!
3. Also, please make a list of all face claims that you want to keep. As you may have known, our face claim list DOES include old, dead, dropped, inactive characters as well. They are shaded in gray. We are in desperate need of updating this list though, so please list all your CURRENT face claims, as well as old face claims that you'd like to keep claimed! (Just remember that dropped, dead, old, charries face claims CAN be used by new characters, but if you ever decide to activate your old character again, you can always use that same person again. For more explanation of the face claim rules, just ask... )
4. Please note any specialties or abilities that your characters may have. This includes prefect status, Quidditch captain/vice status, and magical abilities that you have been approved for (animagi, metamorphagus, etc.).
5. Finally, take this opportunity to REPOST your character's biography if you have not done so already. Our new system makes it that members have the ability to edit their biographies since they are posted through your account and not the staff accounts. Some members have done this already, but some of the older members have not. It's not too difficult, and if you have any trouble, please ask for help! This is meant to benefit the members, so that you don't have to request staff assistance when making small changes to you biography. Just remember that any significant changes MUST BE APPROVED though, and if staff finds that members are abusing this power, we will revert to the old system. I trust that we'll all work together though.
Once you list all of the above, we will make sure that all your listed characters are on all of our lists and that all links to their profiles and biographies are accurate. This may seem like a bit more work than usual, but trust me when I say that it will pay off in the end! As always, remember that you can post all your characters in one post for the list, or if you prefer to keep it a secret as to what characters you play, just login with each account and post at different times. As long as all of your characters make the lists, you will be exempt from being deleted. Remember, only members who are on the vacation list with VALID vacation posts are exempt from being deleted. All other members who do not sign the census will be deleted and must get their characters re-approved.
