Wand Shoping (open)

Guhy was exited to finally get to go to Diagon Ally he was terrified that he was alone in such a big sprawling place but interested at all the stores he saw. He couldn’t identify all the items that were in the windows ether because he had never seen anything like it before in his life or a group of people will be at the window talking about it.

Then he remembered why he was there to get supplies for Hogwarts. He looked at his list is stated he still needed quills, ink, a wand, his books, and a cauldron. He picked up his case that had his clothing and a couple personal items in it with his cat panther on top purring. He took his enchanted compass from his father out of his pocket and said very clearly Olivander’s Wands the compass’s needle spun then pointed to the road to the left he walked down the road looking at all the stores and clothing .

He saw a funny store that had spinning and glowing things in the window he wanted to go in but he had to get his supplies first. he kept walking until the compass needle stated to glow brightly he was close he look around him and finally saw the store. It had a big sine on the door saying they were open now he closed his compass and put it in his pocket he did not want to lose it was very useful. He walked in and saw an old man giving a another kid a wand he walked in then saw a small pot in the back fall over the old man crinched and said well that has broken more then once . He laughed and pointed his wand at the vase and said reparo suddenly all the pieces put them selves together and the pot was back how it was. he picked out another wand gave it to her and she waved it and it had purple sparks come out of it that made Guhy’s cat stand up with inquisitive eyes . He petted his cat on the butt and he started to purr again. He walked over to the desk and said I am looking for a wand and Olivander smiled and said ahhhh another first wand always the most fun the girl paid him a couple of gallons said thank you and left .

He looked Guhy up and down and said I think you might like this dragon horn one here try it on the coach he waved it at the coach and instantly the coach started to float then it got set on fire the old man went woops he waved his wand and said Finite and the couch fell to the ground and the fire went out he said reparo and the couch was fixed. He said lets try again. He looked in the isles and picked out another one brought it to Guhy. And said nine inch unicorn hair core made of perch wood should be perfect try again on the couch. Guhy waved it again and the couch stated to levitate and this time it didn’t get set on fire.

Getting school supplies was a depressing affair at the best of times, but for Jez, wand shopping was probably one of the worst aspects of that event. A stick of highly polished wood was not a particularly interesting finished product. Seeing what went into the highly powerful magical object would have been interesting to Jez - for example seeing the Veela's hair inside his own wand would have fascinated the seventeen-year-old. But since he couldn't see the wand cores, he wasn't terribly interested in the dimensions and other statistics that Ollivander liked to quote. He'd have been more interested in knowing what sort of wood it was made out of were it still a living tree. But such were the limits of his curiosity - the herbs, powders and dried slugs in apothecaries were still very much organic, whereas wands were almost mundane in comparison.

In actual fact, Jez took good care of his wand and he didn't need a new one. He had no need to be stepping into the confounded shop. Unfortunately, he was today charged with helping a younger member of his family to get everything he needed for his first year at Hogwarts. Who exactly the young boy was, Jez wouldn't have been able to say with utter certainty; had he been asked, he would have hazarded that it was the grandson of a great-aunt. When he'd first met the youngster, he'd weighed up his options between making him into an amusement, or treating him as he normally treated members of Junior Charms Club. The younger relative - Cecil, he was called, poor thing - wasn't a brat by any means (evidently the scar of the terrible name had made him meek and mild, rather than the negative impact Jez's first name had made on him), so Jez had quickly decided on the latter approach. Cecil had been satisfyingly appreciative of Jez showing off his special tricks and advanced charms, so it hadn't been too bad. Jez entered Ollivander's with high hopes, at least, of getting this part over and done with quickly.

Another boy was busy testing out a wand already and was busy causing havoc. That was another reason to hate going wand shopping... it was so dangerous in a way that was completely unnecessary for those already initiated into the wizarding world. Ollivander got danger pay in the form of the high profits he no doubt raked in, but no one was paying Jez for this! Actually, that wasn't strictly true. In fact, it wasn't true at all. He was getting paid for this. So maybe he shouldn't complain. Well, he wasn't complaining. Only in his head. Jez nodded to Ollivander, and would have taken a seat on the couch to wait while the old man simultaneously unsettled Cecil and found him the right wand. He would have done that, had the couch not been a couple of feet up in the air. Jez frowned. They'd been walking the streets of Diagon Alley all morning, it was nearly lunchtime and he was ready to sit down.

"Hey, do you mind?" he asked the other customer lightly. "You're monopolising the furniture." He used 'Mobiliarus' to seize control of the couch and manoeuvre it back down to Earth. Having done this, he sat down in it with great satisfaction. "Have you finished choosing your wand yet?" he asked the boy. "I might need a seatbelt otherwise - I don't much like the idea of being airborne without one."

Linda walked through the cobbled streets of Diagon Alley. Yes, she was officially a witch and was set to get a few belongings on a list which had arrived along with her acceptance letter. She had gotten most of her things including a cauldron and a set of quills and some ink and it was now time for her to get her wand.

She was completely alone, being that her parents were both Muggles and hadn't any idea how to get through to Diagon Alley. They dropped her off at the Leaky Cauldron in London, anyway, quite a way away to go just to drop off your child, but, still, it was worth it.

Linda looked in the shop windows, seeing things she could never have dreamt, things on a much grander scale than perhaps you might have seen in the Muggle world. She looked up at the tall buildings before seeing a sign that said "Ollivander's Wands" and with that she braved it and entered the shop. She had noticed a young boy being served and demolishing the furniture. A flash of light had repaired it and it made Linda jump.

The shopkeeper turned to the young girl and took a brief glance at her before turning away, as he began rummaging through boxes of wands. He grabbed one and handed it to her. She gave it a slow wave and, before she knew it, she was flat on her back at the other side of the shop, shards of glass surrounding her. "Sorry about that," she apologised, getting to her feet. He quickly used a repairing spell and the windows were back as they were. Linda made her way back to the front of the shop and tentatively lay the wand on the table. 'Possibly not,' she said to herself.

Linda had tried many wands after that, though none of them seemed to be the one for her. The man handed her one, 12", unicorn tail hair, beech wood and with that came a sky-blue ring of light that surrounded her. He had instructed her to make an attempt at levitating the sofa the other students had been casting at. She did so and, safely and smoothly, it levitated and slowly made it's way back to the floor again.

The man packed off her wand, handed it to her, she paid 8 galleons for it and left out onto the street thinking about her family and what they would have been doing at that moment.
