Jason Blade laid on the bed in his high-rise apartment that he had rented out for the week, in the middle of downtown London. He had taken a business trip to get some supplies for his restaurant, Magical Delights, in Wales, and Jason had decided to spend a bit of extra time there, relaxing before he made the trip back to Wales the next week. He wanted to avoid the daily grind as much as possible until he had to get back. Darcy was with his parents for the week, undoubtedly having way too much fun and a bit too much candy. But his mom and dad were great grandparents, and he had no problem leaving her with them for a week. Even though they may have not been too happy with some of his decisions as of late, particularly the restaurant choosing, they respected him because he was of age now. He was no longer just a simple Slytherin boy. He was a grown man, with his own job, his own daughter, and a life he had pretty much settled into quite nicely in the past few years. Morgan, his wife, was out of the picture and it appeared that things were just the way they both wanted them. Morgan hadn’t been ready to settle down with Darcy, and she had had enough. It had broken Jason’s heart, but he found a new love, in his own daughter. He loved her more than anything in his life right now, and he intended on giving her everything she could ever need.
Jason loved London, every bit of it. He got some of the best ingredients for his signature meals at some of the suppliers in the city, and enjoyed visiting the place as well. The night before had been interesting, however. He had been walking from his own favorite restaurant late back to his apartment, and had seen a man attack a woman with a knife. Or at least he had thought it was a knife. All he had seen was a flash of the man’s face even though it was dark and the man pushing something shiny at the woman. She had screamed, and he had called out for the man to get away. The man had turned around at him, showing his face for a brief second, and grabbed the woman’s purse and ran off. Jason wasn’t about to run after the man. He only carried his wand, and he couldn’t be sure if the man was a wizard or not. Either way, he wasn’t able to use magic in the presence of muggles, and if the man had attacked a muggle woman, he likely would have used some kind of spell to get her purse rather than threatening her with what looked like a weapon. Instead, he had run over to the woman and asked her if she was okay. She had been cut, apparently, badly(as much as it seemed, from it being dark) so he pulled out his cell phone and quickly called the London police, who called for an ambulance. They got there pretty quick, and after he gave a short statement, even though he wanted to stay to see if the woman was okay, he left. He felt odd, because his hands had some blood on them, from the woman. He got back to his apartment and washed the blood off, but it was still quite the experience.
The police had said they would be sending someone by if there was more they needed from him, but he had been out all day, so he hoped they would have waited until the night to come see him. Jason hoped that the woman was okay, and as he was thinking about the situation, he heard the buzzer go off. Someone was at the door down below and he assumed it would be the police asking him for some more information, even though he didn’t have much more to give them. He walked over to the intercom and asked who it was. The woman asked if he was Jason Blade, and if he had witnessed the crime the night before, then identified herself as a police officer, particularly a detective, and he buzzed her in. As he waited for her to come up, he tried to rack his brain more about the night before. After all, he had just seen the man’s face for a brief moment, he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to pick anyone out if the officer had pictures to show him. He threw on a jacket and sat down on the bed, waiting for her to knock on the door. His mind flew threw all that had transpired last night, and as he mildly began to go through the entire situation. He was halfway through the recreation in his mind when he was awoken from his dream by a rapping on the door. He quickly went to the door and peeked out. Jason saw what appeared to be quite an attractive woman, but pushed that thought from his mind. He opened the door fully, greeting her. “Good evening officer. How can I help you?”
