“Hey Zeak! Wait up!” Zeak grinned and turned around; he didn’t need any of his usual tricks to recognize that voice. He waited patiently and listened to the running footsteps as Angel quickly weaved in and out of the other students to reach him. He didn’t have to wait long, when Angel decided to get somewhere in a hurry, she made it. Zeak heard the final running step plan in front of him and felt the slight breeze that her momentum had caused, playfully licking across his hair. Zeak arched an eyebrow and once again waited while Angel caught her breath. “I thought you weren’t going to Hogsmeade this weekend?” He asked her; usually the two were inseparable, though they did have their moments of separatism. “I’m not.” She answered and Zeak felt her hand on his arm and allowed her to lift it. He felt a small piece of parchment being slipped into his hand; he obliged and took a hold of it. “I need you to pick up these things for me. You will right? Thanks.” Zeak sputtered in surprise but as always Angel managed to move past the subject before Zeak was able to voice his opinion. He felt the quick kiss on the chick, the small sting as her hair whipped his face as she quickly spun and took off back toward the castle.
Zeak regarded the note in his hands and couldn’t help but chuckle slightly. It wasn’t the first time that something like this happened; the situation went both ways since Zeak always asked Angel to fulfill favors also. A chuckle from the side was the only warning Zeak received as a arm snaked around his shoulders and gently but firmly turned him around to face Hogsmeade again and began to lead him down the road. Once again Zeak didn’t require any of his tricks to identify the culprit. The burly arms of a Quidditch Beater are hard to miss, and only one was friendly enough with Zeak to so casually throw his arm around him. “You know Zeak, doing errands for the woman is how it starts. I give it two years before your whipped enough to finally propose.” Came Troy’s thick voice. Zeak couldn’t help but laugh at the thought, though he couldn’t quite dispute it. He and Angel had been growing quite close, much closer than their bonds of friendship could contain. “Troy, the day I find a woman to marry me is the day that I transfigure your Beater bat into a bouquet of flowers and turn your Quidditch robes purple.” He responded with a grin.
The burly 7th year roared with laughter, and since Zeak was still tucked closely to the boy’s side he was shook quite furiously. Like a slight alarm, some sub conscious force dinged in Zeak’s mind telling him that they had just reached the Hogsmeade village boundary. Troy’s laughter finally died away. “Ok Zeak we-“ “Are here.” Zeak quickly interrupted with a grin. Troy removed his arm, “You always amaze me kid, how do you do that?” Zeak couldn’t help but laugh at that. “Easy, I don’t let Bludgers constantly knock knowledge out of my head.” He stuck out his tongue in a childish mocking manner, ripping another laugh out of Troy. “I guess that makes sense. Hey I’m heading over to the three broomsticks, wanna get a Butterbeer with me?” Zeak thought about it for a second and then shook his head. “Not at the moment, I got a few things to do first. If your still around I’ll catch up later.” The two said their farewells and then split up. Zeak once again turned his attention to Angel’s note. Hooking his cane into his elbow he unfolded the note and traced his fingers over the raised lettering.
Zeak couldn’t help but grin in amusement as a fast amount of the list was dedicated to sweets from Zonko’s. “Well, at least your tastes run along the same line as mine.” Honeydukes was one of the destinations on Zeak’s current errand path. His own stores of candies and sweets was running low. He sighed and quickly ran through everything mentally. Honeydukes for treats, a few new ink bottles and quills, and then a quick stop by the animal emporium for some owl treats. A quick check of his mental map and Zeak new the direct path to take. He sometimes laughed at this talent, he always pictured one of those maps you find in the mall that has a bright yellow dot and a sign saying “You Are Here” Only this time the yellow dot moved depending on where Zeak traveled. A quick walk brought him to the doors of Honeydukes.
The bell tinkled as Zeak stepped in, though the sound was drowned in the clamor that was Honeydukes. Honeydukes was always full of students diving for sweets and talking excitedly. This was an added benefit to Zeak since sometimes the candies were moved around depending on popularity and Zeak only had to tune into the conversation around him to find out what type of candy he was standing next to. With a slight grin Zeak grabbed two bags and began to navigate the shop filling up the bags. One for him and one for Angel.
