Julius opened his eyes in that dazed way that one does after a good nights sleep. He didn't know if he had been quite ready for last night to be over. He was groggy, yet something in his mind was blossoming into surging energy. Wasn't today....yes it was! It was one of the most amazing days of the month. Sitting upright, he was suddenly ready for today, for today was his second most cherished happening of happenings at Hogwarts; the little excursion that was most commonly known as the every-now-and-then-holiday at Hogsmeade. It was a sunny, yet somewhat chilly Saturday, and the wind was only slightly blowing to the East. Still though it was Hogsmeade, a chance to get away from the teacher's watchful eyes, and in Snape's case, their all to strong slaps up the back of the head. Jumping out of bed, he rushed to get dressed.
As he grabbed up garbled assortments of clothing, he realized that he was one of the last ones awake, for the boys dorms were devoid of any other form of human life. This wasn't a bad sign to him though, for a look at his watch told him that it was only nine o'clock. Grinning to himself, he looked at his assortment of clothes and chose his cleanest jeans, a decent, plain black long sleeve t-shirt, and his favorite Winbourne Wasps mesh cap. Looking himself over in the mirror, he laughed and said, " The ladies won't be able to keep their hands off of you." Turning his hat around to wear it backwards, he grabbed an somewhat faded, scarlet red sweater-hoodie and threw it on. Finishing this with some socks and Nike shoes, he gave himself one last fleeting look over in the mirror and left out the dorms, on his way to the Entrance Hall.
Once in the corridors, he could feel the energy that his fellow students held in their excitement to get away once more from watchful eyes. Smiling in sheer delight, he hummed a tune as he walked. He passed a few of his friends as he walked along, saying " Hey man!" and " Hello beautiful!" every now and then as he passed them. Within a matter of minutes, he was off of the seventh floor, and on the first, then into the Entrance Hall, and out into the luxurious refinement of adventure. On his way out he passed Filch, who gave him that 'go to hell' look that he held only for the students that gave him the worst of problems. In a way, Julius felt honored. Seeing an empty carriage not to far away, he quickly made his way to it and jumped in it.
Just as the carriage was about to take off, a group of sixth years got into it as well. As the carriage made it's way to Hogsmeade, Julius passed the time by joking around with the younger students, getting them to laugh at his outrageous misdeeds. Due to the nature of laughter, time seemed to pass quickly, and they reached the little village in no time at all. Getting out, he bid the sixth years farewell, and made his way to The Three Broomstick's. There were a lot of students in the village, so the trip to the pub was slow going, but he reached it in the end. Once there, he entered and ordered a bottle of Madame Rosmerta's finest mead. He was seventeen after all, and could drink what he wanted to. She complied with his order, and Julius paid for the expensive drink happily, telling Rosmerta that she got more beautiful every time he saw her, causing her to blush slightly. With bottle in hand, he left The Three Broomstick's and made his way to the Shrieking Shack for a little alone time.
It wasn't the long walk that it used to be, back when he was just an small Third Year, on his first outing. Of course back then, he had believed that story about ghosts, but now he greatly discounted it. Wouldn't ghosts still be making sounds if they were there? He was at the end of the path in a matter of minutes, and stood in front of the intriguing manor, that had probably once been quite beautiful. Looking at the bottle, he decided that perhaps he would drink it here, it seemed as good a place as any. He silently debated the matter, and walked to sit behind a tree a little to the left of the path, where he wouldn't be seen by anyone that happened to walk up to the shack....
