So what was her real point for being here? She wasn’t really sure. She had tried to convince herself a few times that she needed to get something from one of the stores. Or that she just needed to stop into the three broomsticks and grab a drink to get away from things for a while. But even those answers she had given herself weren’t true. She was still trying to come up with a reason for her coming down here.
When you leave a place behind and don’t even have a reason to do it…what excuse do you give yourself? Ashanya's brows knitted as she concentrated on a good enough answer to feed herself so her conscious would stop picking at her. It wasn’t like she was really running from anything. She just needed time out of the castle and away from the people who were terrified and depressed. They were killing the happy mood that she tried to keep around her all the time and it was also hurting her concentration on other things. Like classes and meditation.
Ashanya shrugged her coat on a bit more as she shivered into it. Since last two days, the temperature had definitely dropped a lot lower than she liked it and as if that didn’t kill her mood enough she had all this other stuff as well. So she was starting to think that the reason she was out was simply to brighten her mood. She hoped that was possible but she was starting to doubt it on a very high scale.
Her eyes traced over the path into Hogsmeade. Sure she would probably run into more than one person that she knew here but she could live with that as long as they weren’t crying or had the whole zombie terrified stare going on. People with that look scared her. But the one that she hoped to god she wouldn’t encounter the most was the smile that never reached the eyes and really showed just how hard people were trying to be happy. That was the one that killed her the most.
She sighed heavily and shook her head trying to push all the thoughts out of her head. What good did this trip out of the school do her if she was just going to dwell on it any way?
