And how can a story be ended, when it didn't hardly begin?
Rae had decided, the night before, that she would pay her other best friend a visit. She hadn't wanted to choose sides in the whole Dixie/Adam divorce disaster, but she had allowed Dixie to lean on her and hadn't spoken to Adam at all. It was unfair of her, and while she was more on his "side" than Dixie's, she figured it would be a good idea to talk to him - just so he knew she didn't hate him. She had a busy week, and found it was difficult to pop in and out to have a nice chat with Adam, but toward the weekend - she was granted a little mercy and her schedule eased up..with the help of Weetzie. The younger girl had offered to take over producing some of the artists, and because Rae trusted Weetz and because Weetz wasn't in the middle of cutting an album, she allowed it. Hopefully Weetzie wouldn't let her down. The girl could do wonders with musical talent, but her people skills with people who were stuck up and self righteous weren't so wonderful. Rae loved the girl, she was a constant friend in her life, but sometimes Weetzie had no filter - she didn't watch what she said. And that got her into trouble. Especially with musicians who don't think they answer to anyone.
"He's so infuriating!" Weetzie groaned as she collapsed into one of Rae's bright yellow arm chairs in her office. They were at SplatteRecords headquarters and Rae was packing up some of Maddie's things before heading out to get some lunch and surprise Adam. She still wasn't certain a surprise would be a good thing, but she figured it would be better than him rejecting her with some weak excuse about something that Rae would roll her eyes at. Weetzie rested her feet on the stone coffee table in front of her and groaned again, seeing as the previous sound hadn't gotten Rae's attention - or at least, it hadn't appeared to get Rae's attention. Rae was really just trying to ignore it. "You're not listening, but I'll continue to talk anyway," Rae smirked and shook her head, packing up a stuffed animal into the bag she carried with her everywhere she went. Maddie was asleep on the couch, and Rae would have been worried about Weetzie waking her up if she didn't know the 2 year old slept through everything. "I don't understand why he just doesn't take my advice, Rae...I do know what I'm talking about, don't I?"
Sure she did. Weetzie was one of the best people to ask for musical advice, but sometimes people just didn't want to hear advice if it meant that they had to change the way they did things. Rae had seen it before, dealt with it, and she understood it now. Weetz would have to learn just as she had to. It wasn't that difficult. "Don't worry about it, Weetz. Mikayel is a good artist, he knows that if he wants to stay onto SplatteRecords, he will have to do what you say," Rae zipped up the bag and moved to gather her own things now, putting them into her purse, "That's why I placed you with him first. Because I knew he wouldn't leave no matter how much you pushed him, and because you need to see how the artists might be like if you're going to work here full time. Don't give up." She smiled at Weetzie and then grabbed the bag with Maddie's things, put it on her shoulder, and then put her purse over the bag strap. "Besides," she moved to pick up Maddie from the couch, holding the girl gently, "there's a whole load of sexual tension between you two."
Rae awkwardly grabbed her wand off her desk and smiled at Weetzie's astounded face before apparating away to Hogsmeade. It would be different being inside the Greene cottage without Dixie there, but she knew it would be where Adam was on the weekends. Unless he spent his weekends at Hogwarts, doing teacherly stuff. Rae stood in front of the little cottage and shook her head. Dixie wouldn't have allowed it to get to such disarray. She would have to do some work and make it look up to par again. With a sigh, she situated Maddie in her arms more easily and headed up the walk to the front door. The toddler stirred in her arms and started to whine, letting Rae know she was awake and wanted down; so before ringing the doorbell, Rae set Maddie down beside her and held tightly to the small hand. Was she insane for visiting Adam? Eh. No. Rae rang the doorbell.
