A moment’s panic overtook Lenora as she glanced at the clock and read “7.49”. Her alarm hadn’t gone off, she was late, she was really late. They would have started without her. She would be lost. She wouldn’t know what was going on. Would they even let her in? Maybe not, only if she got into London proper immediately… She could apparate… but what if someone saw her… she was supposed to be muggle after all… As soon as her eyes reached the chair where normally her clothing would be laid out Lenora felt her heart slow and finally rest back at it’s normal pace, it was Saturday, her first day Saturday off in a month, in fact. School as taxing that was for sure, but if you wanted the best you had to prove you were the best really…
Lenora felt like she worked 30 hour days now, not only did she work 30 hour days but she paid to do so, or rather her parents paid. The point was that between classes, rehearsals, and everything else that went into her program Lenora only had time to sleep due to the fact that she was gone the moment her head hit the pillow so she could wake up a few hours later having gotten a little sleep. The plan yesterday had been to lounge around in bed until at least 9 or 10 but… that wasn’t going to happen; Lenora was up. Time to go for a jog.
The house was silent, the stairs creaked below her feet, and Lenora silently shushed them with her brain. The last thing she needed on her first morning to herself was her parents starting on and on about what she would do today, and how relieved she must be, and how anxious she must be to start it. Frankly, she was anxious to start her day, so them delaying her wouldn’t be appreciated. Music blasted in her ears as Lenora stopped off at her favourite coffee place, she hadn’t been too into the stuff at Hogwarts preferring orange juice, but it now felt like her lifeblood.
After the jog Lenora went and took a long bubble bath, revelling in the fact that she hid the bathroom clock under a plush towel so she could have no idea how long she was in there. It was later revealed that she had spent an hour getting herself all pruney, during which time Lenora thought blissfully of nothing. She later sang a song from her upcoming class musical as she brushed out her hair and arranged it nicely down, not worrying about being too busy to keep it that way. Today she was enjoying herself and hanging out with her friend Sadie. Lenora hadn’t seen anyone from Hogwarts since their trip to Llanrhystud and she really wanted to share everything that had happened. More than anything, though, she wanted to remind herself that the magical world was out there! Going to muggle school had effectively forced her out of the magical world for a whole month. She didn’t even have time to read the Daily Prophet that was still delivered to her every weekday morning.
The morning clicked on too fast, and soon it was 11, time to go see her friend. With a quick smile at herself in the mirror Lenora took a pinch of the floo powder from above the mantle. Throwing the powder into the fire Lenora took a deep breath and took the plunge. “The Three Broomsticks” Lenora said before being whooshed off into a very familiar place. Suddenly, Lenora found herself back in the babble of student voices on their day off and it brought a huge smile to her face, home at last.
