Man, it was gorgeous today! Too bad she had been stuck inside all morning doing homework. You'd think exams were around the corner. Ashanya paused, were they? Huh, she'd have to look that up. She felt like she'd been running in five hundred different directions lately and her head was about to explode. So putting away absolutely every books Ashanya tromped outside. She wasn't exactly dressed for cooler weather but it was all right. She was just wearing her customary jeans and a blue shirt with her favorite Quidditch team!
The whooole day had been wasted, it was already getting onto evening and she hadn't even had any fun yet. Grumbling under her breath she determined to go to the lake. At least she could throw stones at it. Umm skip rocks right, that's it.
As she approached the lake she saw another girl who looked about her age. Ashanya didn't know if she wanted to be disturbed so she walked closer to the shore and started skipping stones across the surface. She kept glancing over her shoulder at the other girl wondering if she should say something. Ashanya wasn't generally shy but tonight she seemed unsure of herself.
