[/size]After an international Quidditch scrimmage between Britain's own Ballycastle Bats and the Quiberon Quafflepunchers of France, officials are investigating the possibility of illegal tampering on the part of the Quafflepunchers. Having spent the majority of the match being chased by a raging bludger, captain of the Bats, Finbar Quigley, claimed that "The bloody bludger had it in for me. I couldn't even go for a minute without having the blasted thing on my tail."
Granted the fact that bludgers are designed to target the nearest player when not previously directed elsewhere by action of a Beater, some bludgers have been known to go on sprees in which they will chase one player or a few different players in particular. However, there has never been an instance quite like this that hadn't been tied to faulty tampering.
No person in particular has been questioned by either the British of French ministries at this time, but all members of the Quafflepunchers team are expected to undergo interrogation. Any person found guilty is subject to immediate suspension or even worse.
Though losing the match, the Bats say that they are simply relieved that Quigley had managed to avoid any serious hits, only having the tail of his broom smashed by the worst of the bludgers attacks. They hope to reach an answer soon, and are looking forward to the start of their regular season.
