It was 1:30pm, and Zoey was free of classes, for now. She sat on a bench under a tree in the courtyard, watching people walk to to their classes, watching the clouds pass by and what kind of shapes they made, and any of the birds or such fly by. The clouds were lame, they didn't make any shapes but little patches in the sky. There were no birds flying right now, probably because it was the middle of the day and it was too hot for them, or something like that. She shrugged. The people were probably the most entertaining.
She kind of enjoyed listening to people talk. Yes, she knew it seemed a little nosy, but she liked knowing what was going on around Hogwarts. She gave up, trying not to intrude too much in people's conversations. Zoey stretched her legs, and then fiddled with her wand. She rolled it between her thumbs and index fingers. Her notebook was on her lap. She quit playing with her wand and pulled out her pencil, on of the many she brought form her home for drawing, and began to sketch a birch tree she saw. She knew she wasn't too good at drawing, but she could be worse.
OOC;; Sorry about the lame title, I couldn't think of one ><

Allie loved the time of day when she could relax in between classes. Usually, she would quickly finish up any last minute homework she had due for her next class and spend the remainder of her time relaxing outside or somewhere comfortable in the castle. She had just finished her History of Magic class and had a solid twenty minutes before she had to show up for Potions. She had had homework for Potions--she needed to gather a few ingredients for her and her partner. Well, Allie didn't bother looking at the list the day the homework was assigned and has since lost it. Oops. Guess she can't find something she doesn't know she's supposed to be looking for. Perhaps on the way back to the castle she could pick up a few leaves and bugs and hope that they would do. Something told Allie that considering the two weeks in which the class was given to complete the assignment, whatever ingredients she needed to find were probably rare.
Sighing, Allie continued to stroll along the path leading to the courtyard. Luckily, her partner was a Ravenclaw, so hopefully the girl had found the ingredients for the both of them. Allie decided that she wasn't going to worry about it. She wanted to spend these twenty minutes completely stress-free. As she passed a group of girls she was friendly with, she smiled at them and waved. They returned the gesture and continued on their way. Allie guessed they had a class to be in, otherwise they would have invited her along on their walk. Allie couldn't make up her mind whether or not she wanted to be alone right now. She felt the urge to go involve herself in some type of conversation, because she hadn't had the chance to do so at all today. So she entered the courtyard searching for somebody to talk to, finding that the square was much less crowded than she had expected.
The closest person Allie saw was a girl sitting on a bench under a tree. She looked to be about Allie's age, so she proceeded to walk over to her and sit down on her right. "Hello," she said, noticing the girl had a sketchbook in hand. She made out what looked like a tree, and Allie had to admit that she's seen better, but has also seen worse. She smiled. "Interesting. Why a tree?"

Zoey looked up to her right, and saw a girl, Ravenclaw by the color of her color of her robes and such. She looked about her age and was friendly. Zoey smiled sweetly and waved. The girl asked her about her drawing, and she silently giggled inside. "Oh, it's just one of the few things I'm half way decent at drawing." Zoey replied. She began to shade in the chunk of leaves she had drawn, that was attached to a portion of the trunk. She silently sighed as she began erasing the leaves. She had forgotten the branch.
She began carefully trying to draw the lines of the branch, as close as she could get to the real thing. Zoey looked up, trying to focus on the one branch she was drawing, but it branch on her paper ended up being a mix of a couple of branches that were on the tree. She shook her head, her wavy hair getting in her eye. She swept it back with her pale fingertip and began erasing again, her brow furrowing in concentration. It wasn't coming out well. She figured, she never drew really good, close to perfect on her good days, and it didn't help with the girl looking at her drawings. She didn't mind people looking at her drawings, she was just kind of shy and nervous, hoping to impress people that looked.
She gave up, closing her royal blue notebook and putting the pencil on top of it. She shifted her fragile body to the girl. "Uh, I'm Zoey." Zoey introduced herself, holding out a hand. Her hint of her German accent came out there, always coming out on her name, but usually her British accent, the dominate of the two, over powered it and most people didn't notice. The gentle breeze blew, blowing her black bangs into her blue-hazel eyes. She brushed her bangs to the side. She took the hair tie on her wrist and tied her hair up into a messy side swept pony tail, that way the wind wouldn't blow it into her face again.
