It was cloudy day with a nice breeze and Kelvin didn't know what to do. With all the classes he had done and over with and still the rest of the day with nothing planed he went to his dormitory and opened his trunk, As soon as he opened it his frog jumped out and down the common room. Kelvin just laughed watching it hop off. " I guess he's got more plans then me." He said laughing going to his trunk. Kelvin pulled out his wand then an old spell book he got when he was in Diagon alley a long time ago. He never really had time to read any of the spells, with being gone and then with all the make-up work for class while he was gone.
Kelvin went to the common room but it was filled with people talking and doing there class work. So Kelvin went to the student lounge but that was just as full so he decided to go out side the courtyard couldn't be as full as the other places. He made it to the courtyard and he was right it wasn't as full. There was still a few people around but it was still kind of empty. Thomas took a seat right by the entrance to the castle and opened the book starting to read where the bookmark was placed. He finally found something interesting in the book besides the spells he already knew. Kelvin pulled out his wand and muttered a few words and did the wand movements then the book flew out of his hands landing at a boy's feet. He walked over quickly hoping it didn't hurt him.
"So sorry about that I didn't know what was going to happen." He said smiling. "Hi I'm Kelvin and sorry again about that."

Dear Devon,
I have just arrived at Greenland. Your concerns were unneeded, because I’m managing quite well. I did burn down my tent once with a weird muggle gadget, but nothing that a repairing spell couldn’t fix. I expect I shall not be able to communicate with you for a while, as I doubt whether Shadow could fly here. I will write again as soon as possible. I’m very proud of you.
Love, Father.
Deon smiled as he read that letter. Only a burned tent…he’s managing quite well . The Courtyard, the students, even the gargoyles looked doubly beautiful as he contemplated the proof that his father was, indeed, safe. Still smiling, he crossed the Courtyard, touching his spiky air gently to make sure they were intact. Suddenly, a book flew at him out of nowhere, and he jumped back just in time for it to catch him on the leg and not on the…Growling, he pulled his wand out, searching for the attacker when he found himself facing one of his classmates, Kelvin. Kelvin was not someone he had particularly cared to notice, but he did seem genuinely sorry.
Still wincing slightly, he pocketed his wand and smiled. “Hi I’m Deon. We go to classes together remember?” Lucky for him, the letter had put him in a good mood. He pulled out his wand and pointed it at his swollen leg, whispering a spell so that Kelin couldnot hear it. Thank god he had learned all those protectie spells back in India. “So,” he continued, standing straight again,”What were you trying to do?”

He smiled kind of embarrassed about what happened. Actually that boy got a kind of swallon on his leg. but that boy used a spell to get rid of that. "Wow", Kelvin exclaimed. " So now, I hope you are okay. So well, it’s just an old book I got in Diagon alley before the attacks happened." He said thinking back for a second. "It just has a lot of spells in it, most of them I already know." he said smiling normally again finally getting over being embarrassed. "You can look at it if you want it's the lest I could do.” He said laughing a little. "You would probably know some of the spells anyway too, but there are a few new ones that I've heard of so it’s good to read from time to time." Kelvin looked at him and couldn't remember seeing him around the school. But when that boy introduced himself as Kelvin's classmate, he exclaimed," Oh yes. I remember you Devon. Sorry for that, actually my whole attention was toward that spell. I was not expecting for this. I just used voar obxecto, & see, book started flying." "So besides almost getting hit with random books, what brings you out here?" He asked looking at him.

Woodrow winced slightly as he felt a spasm of pain shot through his head. It was so sudden that it actually caused him to stumble in mid-stride. Regaining his balance, as well as his composure, he continued on through the secret passage to the courtyard. The passage was concealed behind an fountain in the courtyard so that you had to actually know that it was there. It was dark and dank as well, but it got brighter and drier as you reached the end. This didn't bother Woodrow though; what bothered him was that he had just been the main target of an barrage of bludgers. He was bruised all over, except for his face. He grinned though, despite the pain, for he had scored on Edward even though he had been battered and beaten.
He reached the exit of the passageway, then cautiously checked that no one was watching, and exited out into the sunny courtyard. Now back out in the sun, he looked himself over. He was still in his Quidditch robes, which covered up his bruised and battered body. " No pain, no gain is what they say. If it's true then I just became the best player ever." he joked aloud to himself. He walked through the courtyard to stand in the middle where the big fountain was, hoping to be mesmerized by the stunningly clear water that shot out to form an small cascading waterfall.
As he neared the fountain, another wave of pain shot through him. This time though, he was unlucky. He stumbled into a boy he had just passed, which put both of them off balance. Woodrow's new course would send him into the volumous fountain as well as the boy he had bumbed into. A glance at the boy told Woodrow that he was an fellow Ravenclaw. Not able to catch himself, Woodrow landed in the water with an almighty splash that threw water over the sides of the fountain. Not one to panic, he calmly sank into the water. Under the water, Woodrow's body felt a soothing sensation, relieving quite a bit of tension that had been coiled up inside. He sat up quickly in the water, wondering what had happened to the other boy.

((This post was written while I was supposed to be getting ready for a bridal shower...it's not very good))
Hayley sighed. She had been staring out a window in the library for what felt like forever, not knowing what she was doing. From time to time she would apply a little more lip gloss or style her hair differently. Finally, her eyes rested on the grey grounds outside...it honestly didn't look like a good day to be outdoors. But who really cares...? Hayley thought.
Hayley was having a very insecure moment, and not to mention she was depressed. Some times these moments were worse than others.. and other times, an onlooker would have no idea Hayley Blake's mother was dying in St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.
Deciding she might find some entertainment outside, she left the library and headed in the direction of the courtyard. She tried to maintain her usual strut, but was not successful.
Entering the courtyard, Hayley saw a little commotion by the fountain. It appeared as though a fellow Slytherin fourth year, Kevin or Kelvin or something..Hayley was not good at remembering names of people she had never really spoken to before.., had thrown a book at a Ravenclaw fourth year, Devon..Something. What had made the Slytherin mad wasn't evident; the two were now talking calmly with each other. Hayley rolled her eyes. Yeah. That was interesting...., she thought sarcastically.
Hayley started toward the two when something slightly more exciting happened. Woodrow Winchester, a third year Ravenclaw, bumped into Devon, sending them both flying into the fountain. At this time, Hayley was close enough to get sprayed with water from the spash. Blinking in shock, Hayley realized the water wasn't that cold. She preformed a quick spell to get herself dry, and her bad mood seemed to disapear with the water.
Acting on some unknown whim, Hayley offered her hand to Woodrow, then to Devon. When they were out of the water, she looked at them with an eyebrow raised and said, "You don't have to swim in the fountain, you know. We have a lake for that."

Devon sighed, and was about to reply to Kelvin when suddenly, a blue streak fell against him. Desperately trying to regain his balance, he stuck his foot backwards to lean on the fountain wall, and missed. Arms propelled wildly and he bit into his tongue as he finally lost his footing and went tumbling into the fountain. God it's cold he yelled into the water, but nothing came out except some bubbles. He wasn't exactly angry with whoever did that. He welcomed every chance to get into the water, and this was a good but. But...he also had his Potions homework rolled up in his pocket. I am so deadAs soon as that thought entered his mind, he rolled up straight, eyes wide with terror, only to find a hand enter his field of vision.
Spitting water out of his mouth, he looked up, and saw that it was another Slytherin fourth year, Hayley.Just my day...injuries, a soaking, ruined potion paper...why don't i kill who's responsible... he thought and took Hayley's hand so that he wouldn't appear rude. He relied on his own strength to pull himself upright. "Right...who did this," he said out loud, his green eyes flashing with such rage that some second years got frightened and ran off. He whipped around and grabbed the one responsible, lifting him off the ground easily. "Ruined my Potions homework, you-," he cut off when he realized that the boy was from his own house, and was also a Quidditch player.
He let go and took out his wand, muttering a spell. Dad was wrong...survival spells used the the wild do have practical use in school the thought detachedly as he completed with a flourish, turning dry instantly. The same could not be said for the Potions homework, which was soaking, the ink blurred and washed off in many pages. He took it out carefully and just looked at it, with the hopeless look of one who was completely lost. All those hours in the library he thought and came as close to crying as he could remember. The wand took the opportunity to mirror his feelings and squirted water into the air. He glanced at it, with a mixture of anger, sadness, and....insanely...laughter.
He kept everything from his face, and started, flint-like, at the one responsible for all this, Woodrow Winchester, a third year student. Then, suddenly, he remembered Hayley and Kelvin. I wonder what they think about all this he thought with a twinge of embarrassment, and turned to Hayley, just registering the question she had asked at the beginning. "Thanks for the help," he said, preferring to ignore it. He was in no mood for jest, and this question was for such a time.

As Devon was going to reply, suddenly a boy in his quidditch robe stumbled to Devon & both of them fell into the fountain with a splash. Other boy was a Ravenclaw, as his robe was referring, & he seemed wounded. Ofcourse the reason was Quidditch.
Meanwhile, when the whole accident was going on, a girl came to fountain, glaring at Kelvin. She was a fellow Slytherin which was seen around by Kelvin in their common room. She became wet by the spalsh of water. Why were the spells for? She used it to make herself dry.
She seemed a helpful one, as she offered her hand to the two boys swimming in fountain. Kelvin felt laughing when she joked that fountain was not for swim. But, he didn't.
Devon was looking angry. But despite, he thanked to Hayley. Kelvin was watching all that. How was it possible that he was saying nothing? He said to them," Hey, someone talk to me also. I can help you people." Then he asked to other Ravenclaw," How are feeling now?"

Woodrow saw that the boy he had knocked into the fountain with him was angry. He had every reason to be, but Woody couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance. It wasn't really his fault....well maybe it was, but what had caused it had been the flicker of pain. He sighed though, simply deciding that he would explain the reasons for what had happened. As he was about to speak, he saw a hand reaching torwards him. It was a much smaller hand than his, and when he saw the owners face, he recognized her as Hayley Blake. She was a fourth year Slyth, but he didn't hold that against her. Despite the fact of being an Slyth, she appeared to be an alright person, not to mention a cute girl. Taking her hand, he felt an unfamiliar whoop in his stomach, and pulled himself out of the fountain.
Once on solid ground, he flashed Hayley a smile, and took his wand out of his pocket. Using the drying charm he had learned from his studies, his clothes were quickly dry. He finished and was about to say hello to Hayley, when the boy he had knocked over began to round on him. His potions homework had been ruined....that was no problem, Woodrow was a wiz at potions, literally. Looking a bit apologetic, he said, " You said your potions homework is ruined right? I can help you with it if you like, I'm tops at Potions." He then realized that the boy was somewhat familiar......that was it, he was Devon McKon, a fellow Ravenclaw and fourth year. He had just been accepted to the team hadn't he?
Turning his attention back to Hayley, he laughed at her statement, flinching slightly because it hurt to laugh. He replied saying, " Ah, it's like they say.....well there's not really a saying for it, but if there were," he paused for a moment, " it would be something like, 'when one swims in a fountain, one is truly at peace with oneself', yeah that makes sense." It was an extremely odd situation that he had landed himself in, yet it was one that seemed to be okay. He turned just as he heard another voice. It was the boy who had been standing next to Devon before the accidental swimming spree. Replying to the boy, he said, " Oh I feel a little better. When you become target practice for the best Beaters at the school, you're bound to get banged up sooner or later. Honestly though, I would have preferred later."

What's going to happen next? Devon thought, almost despairingly, as a third year offered to help him. Hell no, he might be weak at Potions, but he wasn't going to let someone else do his work for him. Just do it an annoying voice told him, tantalizing him with the prospects of not having to sweat - and sleep - over a dozen books of minute scripts while a thin, bird-like, woman hovered over him, hissing when an extra large gust of air escaped his nostrils and ruffled the pages of her 'precious little babies'. Babies which often weighed more than a hundred pounds, raised clumps of dust which put a Persian carpet to shame, and often bit, snapped and wailed like waifs in pain. Covers which looked mangled and -
Whoa thought Devon, as he jerked himself out of his fascinating speculations, and Woodrow laughed at what Hayley had said before. Now he was feeling sheepish at getting so worked up over nothing. After all, he should have left the homework in the tower and not in his pocket. Suddenly, he turned to Kelvin and said," Hey, Kelvin, o you mind looking up in that book of yours about anything to restore my homework,"he asked coolly, determined not to sound desperate. Keep in the thought, give out the confidence was his father's motto for dealing with reporters. Of course, this wasn't exactly... he grinned inwardly at the thought of his father looking poised and cool in front of the smelly bags calling themselves reporters.
"So, since we're all here, how about going out to the lake? With luck, something in Kelvin's book can help. Or else," he shot a wicked grin at Woodrow," You can write eight pieces of parchment on the Properties of Moonstone in Connection with the Full Moon when used on Mandrake Root.

Now that Hayley was outside, the weather was pleasant. Or maybe it was the fact that Hayley was not alone anymore. Either way, now, the brilliant sunlight reflected off the fountain water that the two Ravenclaws had just fell into. It wasn't too hot outdoors, nor too cool. It wasn't exactly a perfect summer day with the sun beating down on the Courtyard, but it could do for spring. There was a slight breeze in the air that made Hayley's hair blow peacefully around her face.
Hayley returned Woodrow's smile and heard him mention something about someone swimming in a fountain and being at peace. He always says the oddest things..like something you would hear in a Shakespearian play, Hayley thought. Good things Hayley enjoyed that kind of thing, poetry and whatnot, or Woodrow Winchester might not have been such an easy person to get along with. "Yeah, that does make sense," Hayley said to Woodrow. "Have you ever thought of writing stuff like that down?" She had no clue how or why she was socializing (if helping people out of a fountain could be called socializing) with Ravenclaws, but it was sort of nice. Maybe that was the only good thing about her mother being in St. Mungo's: Hayley was actually giving people out of her own house a chance. Maybe Hayley was actually coming out of her 'antisocial' stage.
Hayley glanced over at the other Ravenclaw, Devon, and saw him seem to snap out of something, like a daydream of some sort. When he proposed to go down to the lake, Hayley felt uncomfortable. Her? Hayley? All these people? What? Two Ravenclaws and a Slytherin she has never really spoken to? Well, these days, Hayley didn't really speak to anyone...The world didn't really make sense anymore. She fiddled with her hair for a moment before looking at Kelvin and Woodrow, deciding to let them reply first.

That third year seemed quite okay after that 'strange' accident as he told too. Meanwhile, Devon turned to him & asked if Kelvin's 'old book' was having any kind of 'homework restorage spell', so that his spoilt work could be completed. But when Kelvin was gonna reply to him, he again related his idea to Kelvin's dearest book. He offered a visit to the lake to us. Kelvin was happy, afterall it was a fabulous idea. But, what about that 'transfer magic' which would be able to 'transfer' all of them from here to the lake?
He had to see that old one for the solution. Then he smiled & thought, couldn't they go by their-self? But, it would be fun when using magic. He was sure none of them had ever used such type of spell. So, he quickly flipped over few pages. Yes, he got it!
There was a spell with description that "One will be there, where he wants...just flick your wand & say Iemelians.....". Sounds great, he thought. Then he told it to everyone & asked if they should have used it or not. If yes, then who should be the volunteer?

A drip of water ran down Woodrow's face as he finished talking to the other boy. 'Silly me,' he thought, 'I forgot to dry my head off.' He shook his head, making his longish dirty blonde hair whip about his head, throwing droplets of water into the hair. A boyish grin was on his face as he finished. He loved doing that with his hair, he really couldn't see how people got around with only having short hair. He felt they were truly missing out from the wonderful aspects of being able to whip ones hair around in all kinds of manner. One could pull off an windmill of hair by whipping it around and around, or simply rock out causing it to switch between the back of the head and the face. Truly, it was quite a way to pass the time.
Ah but wait, why was he thinking about that? He was in the middle of an small group of students that included himself. It wasn't a rare thing, yet it had been awhile since he had been in such a gathering outside of Quidditch. Yes, this could be a good day he decided, despite the fact that he was just about out of it thanks to Quidditch practice. Ignoring his fatigue, he decided to stick it out and see where the rest of the day might lead. Perhaps he would gain two new friends, for he considered Hayley his friend already.
He was shaken from his thoughts when Hayley spoke to him. Write his thoughts down? He did that quite alot actually, but only when he felt inspired by them to write them as songs. He voiced these aloud, saying, " Well Hayley, I actually write them down as songs, and indeed the phrase I used on our earlier meeting is the name of one of my songs." As he finished, he remembered why they had met up on that day, and was inwardly pierced through the heart by the icy cold arrow of despair. However it passed, quickly and silently, only a brief falter in his grin had showed any sign of such an occurence. Now he was surrounded by his peers, who seemed to be good people, so he would not let his own issues invade the day that would be sure to hold some sort of joy for him.
His attention turned back to the Devon as the older boy suggested an outing to the lake. Laughter in his eyes, Woodrow replied, " Well, it does seem the logical choice, seeing as you and I just swam in the fountain, it only makes since to swim in the lake as well. After all, one does lead to two." He laughed out loud when Devon said something about the essay being eight pieces of parchment long. " That's all? You mean Snape actually let you off that easy? Eight pieces is a piece of cake!" his voice rang with sincere enjoyment as he spoke. His eyes still held that mirth and mischievous fire as the boy who was named Kelvin suggested an transfer magic spell to get to the lake faster. " I don't that would work Kelvin. If apparition and disapparition don't work in the school grounds, then I doubt that the transfer spell would work as well. Even if it did, I think walking would be safer, seeing as none of us have a lot of experience with things like that." he said, trying to not look high and mighty about saying it. He didn't want to burst his bubble, but logic dictated that the spell would not work all that well.

((I expect i shall not be able to reply for a few days. After you three take a turn, please wait )) Piece of cake? Devon glared at him suspiciously. How could he enjoy Potions with the Black Bat teaching? In any case, he wouldn't have been much good at it otherwise, but he would certainly have tried harder and perhaps even enjoyed it a little. After all, the combination of bangs, smells and sudden flashes, and the effects that followed would have made it a very pleasant class - although perhaps not for the one affected - if it hadn't been for a certain walking grease ball. Whoa, hold it there thought Devon frantically. He wouldn't put it past Snape to try and sort through his mind. Those beady eyes were slightly frightening, but Devon had never looked down, until he found out that eye contact just made Snape's task easier. From then on, he would studiously look at Snape, but not in his eyes, a trick which only succeeded in making Snape angrier than before. Transportation to the lake? "Umm...Kelvin, like Woodrow said, it might not work that well. SO i think we'll just walk there. It's slower, but we'll get there in one piece," he looked at him pointedly before turning to Hayley. She looked visibly uncomfortable, as if the idea of company was...detestable? Or was it just the idea of his company? Whatever it was, he needed to ask her for her opinion. Strangely, he felt as though he would miss her company. He had been like that for the first two years, isolated and cold, until two of his classmates had pulled him out of his shell, taught him how to laugh, and how to feel like the world was always fine. It wasn't but feeling otherwise was a boon indeed. He would try and break Hayley out, but he wasn't going to dedicate anything. "So, Hayley, what do you think?" he asked, glancing at the other two. They seemed ready to go. I wish Kelvin would search for the repairing spell already...
