((This post takes place on Halloween night)) Wynd was having second thoughts about his costume. He shivered. He took out his wand and pointed it at the fire. "Incendio." It immediately roared a little larger and more importantly, warmer. He then placed his wand in the only available place. His underwear. For that was all he was wearing. He had taken an old pair of well fitting underwear and changed its colour to be flesh toned. Then he had found a leaf on the grounds (there was about a million this time of year) changed the colour to green and enlarged it. Then he stuck the enlarged leaf to the front of his underwear. That was his entire costume. A leaf. And he was cold. As long as he didn't wander too far from the fire he should be all right. The fire was warm and it gave a warmth to the rest of the room. It was just hard to leave. Wynd himself was waiting for his sister. She hadn't told him was he was going to wear and he was anxious to find out. Mostly Slytherins were not known for 'parties.' After the Halloween Feast with the rest of the school, the Slytherins and the rest of the students were asked to return to their respective common rooms for a surprise. Surprise! A poorly decorated common room with candy and refreshments. In the prefect meeting where this idea was discussed, Wynd thought it was pretty lame. But whatever. If this is what he had to do as a prefect so be it. He wished that Ruby would return from her room in her costume soon so that he would have someone to talk to. Maybe Dylan would stop by the fire so that they could chat. Wynd heard noise beyond the door to the corridor which meant that the non-prefects were returning from the Feast. He looked around and rolled his eyes. Oh well, he thought. He forced a smile. "Happy Halloween!" ((Feel free to attend the party and leave the party at your discretion. Also please describe your fabulous costume in great detail so that people can vote on the best one. To vote, send a PM to Mary.))

Dakota smirked at her appearance in the mirror. She was late but she didn't care. After all, it was best to make a delayed entrance with a bang when people least expected it. That would mean she would have the centre of attention for longer than if she went at the beginning of the party. So many people entering the Common Room would mean she'd only get one minute of fame. This way she could get five minutes. It also meant her costume was a surrpise to everyone, especially her dorm mates. She didn't want those sneaky girls to copy her, no sir. Dakota was too competitive to share with anyone her plans, too secretive, too distrusting. Right now her dorm was empty and she could hear the music pulsating down the stairs. Dakota couldn't wait to join them, but she had to pace and time herself correctly; one step wrong could be fatal. Smiling at herself in satisfaction again, Dakota added the final touch to her costume - a fake nose piercing - and admired the outcome of her hard work.
Dakota wore a very revealing outfit; her dress was one-piece, blood red, and made out of lycra that clung to her curves. A crimson silk cloak with a hood covered her bare shoulders, falling to the floor like an evening gown. She wore a pair of matching leather boots with killer five-inch heels to propel her short height. To decorate her Red Riding in the Hood outfit she wore lots of jewellery and piercings. Along with the nose stud she also wore large silver hoops in her ears, many different rings, and a large chain around her waist; the object she was most proud of, though, was the spiked collar around her neck and the matching bracelets. Her gloves were black and fingerless, and she'd used a special spell to draw temporary tattoos on her arms. Her make-up was even heavier than usual, her eyes rimmed with so much black she looked like a true goth. To finish off the costume Dakota had a wickerbasket filled with joke sweets from the Weasley brothers' shop in Hogsmeade. The silly boys who came after her tonight would be very sorry by the end of the party.
Five minutes later Dakota gathered herself - making sure her cloak was on properly and taking the basket. She slipped the hood over her hair, which was pampered to perfection in beautiful curls around her face but with one difference: her tips were dyed bright red. Smiling at her reflection for the last time, Dakota descended the staircase leading from her dorm to the Slytherin Common Room. When she entered she was hit with a wave of music and laughter, but people soon grew silent as they caught a glimpse of her in the doorway. Dakota basked in her glory and spent the rest of the night flirting with boys, gossiping with the girls, and receiving many praises about her costume and invites to dance. Dakota normally didn't celebrate Halloween, but if it was an excuse to have a party then she certainly wasn't going to complain.

Post by Ruby Lehane on Oct 24, 2008 20:11:15 GMT
Ruby Lehane was a brilliant 6th year Prefect, twin sister to her brother and fellow 6th year Prefect, Wynd Lehane. It was a star worthy achievement for the two siblings and of course their father was equally proud of them. As a Prefect their duties ranged from nightly patrols to hosting House events…like the one on this Halloween night. Ruby hadn’t objected too much to the idea, but finding herself forced to play dress up wasn’t something she found all too exciting. So with that thought Ruby took her time in her dorm room, the rest of the students, or most of them were still down at dinner heading their way, but Ruby wasn’t too concerned as she slipped on the black fishnet stockings of her Halloween outfit. The smirk falling on her face as it rolled up her long legs. If there was one thing Ruby wasn’t afraid of it was what people thought of her, especially her fellow Slytherins. She was too far out of their league to care one way or another about them. Sooner or later she would gain their respect, if she hadn’t won it already. When the fishnet stockings reached her thighs she slipped the buckle straps from the stockings to her garter belt, connecting them so the fishnets would hold in place. From there she shimmied into the little pinstripe dress, the pink tie and collar attached to the fabric giving her the desired look of the stereotypical muggle gangster. The added pink cuffs to each wrist and the black fedora hat set off the outfit perfectly, her blonde hair curly as ever and her make-up think and beautiful. All in all she was a sight to be had. The outfit she had had designed for the event was rather stunning…mostly due to Ruby’s desire to never come off looking as low class as half the girl population tended to do, but Halloween was always the exception, where every good girl could dress up as a tramp without being called out on it. With that thought in mind she smirked a little as she slid her feet into the black stiletto heels, brushing her dress down a bit she nodded at herself in the mirror before grabbing her wand and heading down to the common room. It took Ruby only a second to spot her brother, knowing he’d go for something a little more “revealing” than she had. Her clicking footsteps took her through the small gathering crowd, a few looks headed in her direction as she smirked and found her brother. “Don’t look so glum brother. I think you won in the category of the person with the least amount of clothes on that still constitutes as a costume.” Just then the sound of another entrance and dead silence told her that Slytherins ‘princess’ had arrived. Eyes rolled as she glanced to the stairs and then back at he brother, arms crossing over her chest. “Honestly, I don’t understand what the whole of men see in her. There’s only emptiness behind those blue eyes.” She glanced over at her brother, her hand moving out to strike his chest to make sure he was paying attention to her and not the blonde walking down to the common room.

Post by Pyro Blackfire S5 on Oct 26, 2008 9:49:04 GMT
Pyro hated Halloween; the holiday had been perverted by muggles. All the muggle children would giggle as they put on costumes of ghost, goblins, witches and wizards, if only the little insect truly knew what those things that go bump in the night were. Pyro usually had a habit of not joining in on any of the Halloween festivities, but this year he had been called out, or more accurately, dared. Pyro didn’t loose a bet, especially not one created by his cousin; there were certain laws of nature that just had to be won. Pyro looked at the mirror one final time, making sure that everything was in place. He couldn’t help but be amazed at the image that faced him, he kind of like the image. He would have to make a mental note to hold on to this outfit and wear it during formal occasions. Pyro wore a pair of black dress shoes that were already starting to kill his feet, he would probably not be wearing them for the entire night. Of course you couldn’t wear dress shoes with white socks, which is why currently there was a dark pair attached to his feet. His pants were dark tight fitting slacks, his mobility was unhindered by them but they still looked nice and snug against him. His white dress shirt was un-tucked, top button un-done with the collar only loosely flipped down; this was to add a bit of “Off-duty” look to the costume. A red tie was loosely tied around his neck. Pyro turned a full circle, admiring the look. “Definitely have to do this outside of Halloween.” Pyro picked up the black overcoat, complete with a red rose pocking out of the chest pocket, and slipped it on. The final touch, and Pyro’s personal favorite, was the black mobster hat hanging from the wall. The hat had a white band around it in which another rose was stuck into. Pyro hadn’t done his traditional braid today, instead choosing just to go with a loose pony tail. He quickly placed the hat on his head and the image was complete. He once again admired himself in the mirror. “I make a damn good mobster.” Pyro grinned and headed down to the common room. Guests were just starting to arrive in their own crazy and outlandish costumes. Pyro moved through the gathering throng to the snacks table. Cass’s terms only indicated that he had to show up and dress up for the party, not to co-mingle with anyone. Pyro’s eyes scanned the gathered guests, noticing the Lehane twins near the fireplace. Pyro smirked at Wynd’s costume, no wonder the boy was hanging by the fire, the Slytherin common room was never a place of warmth. There was a slight hush that fell over the room and Pyro followed the gazes to the stairs as Dakota fox entered in her own costume. Dakota was a beautiful girl, a beauty only enhanced by her costumes. It was a game that Pyro had seen before and after only giving her a single glance he turned his attention to other matters, grabbing himself another glass of pumpkin juice. ((I just felt I had to post this pic. I wasn't even going to join the party but this pic inspired me to join. So here it is: Pic))

Post by Kailyn Valak S6 on Oct 31, 2008 5:00:02 GMT
Kailyn loved Halloween! Ok... scratch that. She loved attention. It just so happened that Halloween was the perfect holiday to get attention. While everyone was donning their craziest and most creative costumes, it was only natural to pay attention to others and see what they wore. For Kailyn, it was the perfect opportunity to parade around as others admired her costume. This year, she was particularly happy with what she had chosen. It was elegant, perhaps a bit sexy, and most of all attention grabbing. Pulling the gold dress over her head, Kailyn adjusted the fabric which centered around her hips until it was straight. Then, she fluffed out the ruffles, the many layers of glimmering gold fabric. It was a short cut dress, falling just above her knees. On her feet, she wore a pair of open-toed high-heel shoes which were covered in gold sequins. Every step that she took caused a flashy sparkle around her feet as the light bounced off of each individual sequin. The top of her dress was strapless, and from the waist up, the material alternated between stripes of golden satin fabric and then while velvet. It was a beautiful dress, one that she might wear for any special occasion, but this one was meant for something more. Grabbing the delicate pair of wings which would complete her outfit, Kailyn slipped them on and looked in the mirror. At first, she found that she simply looked like a golden fairy. She wondered if people would know she was meant to be a Snitch? Then, she had a brilliant idea as she rushed over to her desk and grabbed her wand. She took a piece of paper and then used a spell which she had learned that let you write on paper in any colour that you wanted. Writing with a wand wasn't easy though, but Kailyn took her time to make sure it looked neat. Stepping back, she admired the flashy gold letters on the paper. Catch me if you can! "Perfect!" she said with a pleased excitement in her voice as she held he sign in one hand, her wand in the other. With that, Kailyn was ready for her grand entrance. She was ready to charm the boys and do what the Snitch did best.... play hard to get. ((I'm not going to actually RP her at the party. I just had this idea for her costume and really wanted to include it. )

Aline stood by the mirror, wand in hand. She knew that she was already late for the party, and yet she still didn't know what to wear. She continuously flicked her wand at her body, but none of the costumes that appeared on her caught her interest.
Her cat, Cardammon, was criticizing her, and he was doing really well. As she ironically put on a French maid costume, Cardammon hissed at her. Finally, she came across a black belly dancer's costume, and Cardammon purred in affection.
Aline automatically agreed with him, for the costume was both sexy and beautiful, something difficult to come across.
The costume was black and silver. The bustier was leather, revealing (the one thing that bugged Aline), and had silver chain link belts coming off the center and looping somewhere else. The black underwear that came with it was also leather, with silver intricate designs. Then, there was a scarf that tied around her waist so that it covered her right leg and tied at her left. It also had silver coins that clinked and dinged when she walked, and practically created music when she tried to belly dance.
Cardammon had something to say, but Aline couldn't tell if it were good or bad. She waved her wand at him, and he started to talk to her.
"Alright, so you mostly look the part. But there is something about your hair that we must fix. Try making it longer and curlier."
Aline did so, and she noticed that that had been the missing piece to her costume.
"Now that that's taken care of, you need to be able to play the part."
Aline knew where he was going with that. She used her wand to give her knowledge of belly dancing, and believe it or not, it would come in handy later.
"Oh, and one last thing. It seems as though the party started 45 minutes ago. I know that Dakota Fox has already made her 'grand' entrance, so now I want Lady... um... Lady... alright, we need to come up with a new name." he said.
"Lady Shara!" Aline blurted out.
"I quite agree with that. Tonight you are Lady Shara, and now that you are fashionably late, You will steal the spotlight from that girl. I am proud to call you my Lady. Good Luck!" Cardammon said.
Aline whooshed out the door and saw Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs, and Gryffindors running to their parties. It seemed as though she might be the only Slytherin for now. She ran down three flights of stairs and started belly dancing the last. She had silver finger cymbals, courtesy of her wand, and was putting on quite a show that caught some attention.
She heard whispering, and one guy that she knew, Wynd Lehane, was certainly entertained. She was curious as to what other people were saying, but she didn't let that damper her night.
