If one thing was for sure, it was that Drake had never been one to get too close to people. For that reason, he never really took the time to get to know the people who he had spent over six years with living in the same room while at Hogwarts. People like Julian, Pyro, and Caleb- Drake simply tolerated them. To his pleasure though, he never really had any problems with any of them. The four of them seemed to get along just fine, each letting the other three live their lives without much interruption. At the same time, it was impossible not to learn some thing about the people you saw every day. For instance, Drake knew that Pyro had an unruly temper, Caleb seemed quiet and reserved, but there was a lot more under his surface. And then for Julian, Drake had always seen him as the one who most reminded Drake of himself. Julian was, for lack of better words, a womaniser just like Drake was. In fact, there had almost been some sort of unspoken respect between the two of them, or at least Drake felt so. Thus, when Julian went and got married, it surprised Drake more than anything that he knew of Julian. And, even more, Julian's choice of a wife wasn't someone who Drake would have thought he'd pick. Cass was... well, Drake didn't know what Cass was, but she wasn't someone that he figured he'd be chasing after.
Drake had gotten out of the shower and had finished drying his hair before wrapping his towel around him and heading back into the bedroom where he'd get dressed for class. He was half tempted to just skip class today, but he knew that he shouldn't. He'd already been warned enough about having his prefect status revoked, and as little as he cared about it to begin with, it did come with some useful benefits. Drake didn't want to lose those benefits for the last half of his final year of school. Pulling on his class robes, Drake saw Julian was sitting on his bed across the room. Pyro and Caleb had already left for the morning. Despite his better judgment, Drake was curious to ask Julian a few of the questions that had been creeping up every time Julian was around. And so, without much worry or care, Drake asked the questions he'd been meaning to ask. "So, Julian, why'd you up and get hitched anyways? I didn't think you were the type to settle down. Cass is that good, eh?" he asked, a slight sort of sarcasm in his voice as he raised his brow and waited for Julian to respond. Drake knew that even if he had offended Julian that Julian wouldn't be afraid to let him know. And if that was the case, Drake would drop it. It was how the respect between boys their age worked. They offered their words, perhaps threw a punch or two at worst, and then they got over it. They didn't hold grudges like girls. Or, at least most of them didn't.
