Sophia stepped down off her chair as she stuck the last paper chain to the ceiling of the common room, and looked around, impressed at the progress that had been made throughout the afternoon. At the time most of the other students were getting ready for the party, so she decided to join them and went to find her costume...she'd packed it away somewhere in her trunk on the way down here, assuming there'd be some sort of Halloween party. It didn't take her long to see the bright orange material, now towards the bottom of the case. Yes, she was a pumpkin. Of all things. it went against her general thoughts of "stay in the background, away from being the centre of atention" as it was a rather bright costume-complete with black felt mouth, nose and eyes, as well as an orange hat with a green stalk on top. She felt rather silly wearing it, but it helped bring her out of her tortoise-like shell...
As she sorted out her hair in order for it not to look completely awful with the hat, she heard the music start to play in the common room-the party had started. This year there was a competition for the best costume, so she expected to be rather impressed by what some people had chosen to wear. Hearing the words of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" blaring from someone's muggle CD player and speakers especially loudly as she opened the door to the room, she was not let down by the range of costumes , despite there not being too many people already there. She had a feeling that it would be a good party, and very difficult to choose the best costume!
((The party has officially started ;D Have fun everyone!))

"Because, Kael, your dear sister is going to the Ravenclaw party as Sailor Venus, and we can't let her down, can we?" Aurora patted down Kael's suit with a cheerful smile. "You can't complain. We were going to make you go as the purple jelly baby, you know. Maybe we should've. I'm sure everyone would vote for you then." Laughing, she flicked a piece of lint off Kaels' jet-black costume and stood back, admiring him from afar. "You look brilliant," she declared, a broad grin adorning her lips. "Just like Tuxedo Mask. And this way no one's going to know who you are. They'll never guess it's you." After making sure Kael's mask was on properly and that his billowing cape wasn't too long as to be stepped on by fellow partyers, Aurora looked over her own costume, designed to match Kael's, in the male dorm's shared long-length mirror. She wore a dress, white on the top, and gold, red and navy blue ruffles for the skirt. Her gloves were long and pearl coloured, patterned with red, and the short-sleeved top had bubblegum-pink puffed edges. Her knee-length boots were bright pink with white rims, which matched the large ribbon broach in the middle of her chest. To decorate her Sailor Moon costume Aurora wore a red choker around her neck, a fake gold crescent moon stuck to her forehead, and red and gold clips to accessorise and hold up her hair, which had been dyed more brown so that it looked like dark gold, extended to her waist with some help of her magic; it was held in two pigtails as the girl who Aurora was mimicking did. To finish off her look she had a pair of beautiful white wings, fluffy and large on her back. Aurora's costume was of Sailor Moon, the main character in the hit TV series that originated from Japan. It was well-known in western countries as a programme for children and Aurora had grown up watching it as she loved Japanese cartoons. When Lynne had mentioned that she was going to the Ravenclaw Halloween party as Sailor Venus, Aurora had jumped on the idea with enthusiasm, and eventually they had decided she and Kael would attend as Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask from the Sailor Moon R second series. The idea was perfect, because now Kael couldn't complain about ruining his 'bad boy' reputation, as no one would recognise him under the mask - or expect him to come to the party. And Aurora could fulfil her wish for her friend to join them. She remembered last year when Kael had briefly turned up to her bash and she had made it her plan to get Kael to attend this year's too. And somehow, through much persuading and forceful words from her and Lynne, Kael had finally been wrestled into the costume. "We're not going just yet," Aurora told Kael as he looked ready to dubiously enter the Common Room dressed as a fictional character from a Japanese cartoon show. "Most important of all we need to have..." she darted to Kael's bed and brandished an object triumphantly, "photos!" Beaming in delight and mirth, Aurora grabbed Kael before he could make a desperate run for it and shoved him beside her, turning the camera lens around to face them. "Oh come on, spoilt sport," she chuckled, noticing the evident grimace of distaste beginning to spread so familiarly on Kael's face. Oh how Aurora took pleasure out of teasing her friend. At times like these he was like a fifty-year-old trapped in a five-year-old's body. After a few glaring flashes, big smiles and comical faces, Aurora turned around and took photos of Kael on his own. "Don't look so grumpy. These are for your girlfriend, you know," Aurora warned with a lingering smirk. Seeing the look of horror on Kael's face Aurora immediately took her wand and banished the camera back to her room. "Sorry Kael, too late. I'm sure Adrina will be delighted with your costume. "Now c'mon, Tuxedo. We're going to be late." Aurora grinned, taking a disgruntled Kael's arm in hers. "It's party time." ((The link given in the post is the costume Aurora is wearing. It is a special costume Sailor Moon wears in the second series of the anime. This is the five main sailor senshii in their usual costumes - from left: Moon, Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Mercury. Venus is who Lynne has dressed up as.))

Post by Seth Wright on Oct 26, 2008 19:20:13 GMT
"How do I look?" Seth pulled at the collar of his costume and grinned at Chace. He wore a one-piece suit that clung to his thin figure; it was all black with white skeleton patterns in the shape of a human. However, it wasn't just a normal skeleton costume - it had a magic twist. He and Chace had managed to cast a spell on it that made it glow all sorts of different colours, from crimson red to golden yellow to lime green to aqua blue. Seth looked like a rainbow - a skeletal one. It was a simple costume but he wasn't too fussed. Seth wasn't going to this Halloween party for the competition and he doubted he'd win. There were bound to be other people who were much classier, much more imaginative than him. Seth had resigned himself to a good night with his friends and Willow and that was all. Halloween was for having fun, not about competing or winning. Seth was glad he wasn't in Slytherin right now. The competition there must be fierce. Then again, he supposed it would be the same with the confident and competitive Gryffindors and clever and smart Ravenclaws who never lost an intelligence and beauty battle. Thank goodness for Hufflepuff. There were the odd competitive streaks, but generally everyone was so friendly in the yellow-coloured house. Seth felt privileged to be part of it.
The two boys checked their outfits once more in the mirror and descended the stairs to convene with their housemates in the Common Room. Already the music was playing - Michael Jackson's 'Thriller', Seth recognised with a grin; perfect music for Halloween! - and the food and drink was displayed around the room. Seth made a beeline for the Coke and stood in the corner with Chace for a minute, both looking for their girlfriends. Eventually Willow and Lara descended the staircase that led to the girls' dorms and Seth eagerly pushed through the costumed crowd to meet his girlfriend, who was dressed as... "Miss Matched," Willow stated proudly, twirling around for Seth on the spot. "Do you like it?" Seth said of course - of course - and immediately swept her off for a dance to the blaring music. "I like your outfit, Seth. Pretty neat," Willow complimented with a fond and amused grin as she traced the flashing coloured bones on his costume. "And it's pretty tight-fitting too. I won't complain."
Seth laughed at Willow's wink and hugged her closer. They spent much of the evening dancing and talking with Chace and Lara. A few times Seth was stopped by fellow housemates congratulating him on his costume, and he began to feel quite happy with himself. The idea had actually been his rather than Chace's for once. Seth had always been described as too thin, too 'skeletal', and so he had used those words, played on them a bit, and anyway, Halloween often had skeletons hanging around, right? "Seth, you look fabulous!" Aurora Chan waltzed up with him, and he laughed and pointed at her in delight. Before he could say anything, though, she had grabbed him and made him take a photo with her with a glaring flash for a camera. "Thanks, Seth," she enthused happily. "Can I have one of you and Chace? Oh, and you and Willow? And all four of you now. Yes, lovely, that's just great." When the photographing had eventually finished Seth turned back to Aurora and pointed at her costume again.
"Sailor Moon?" She nodded and laughed. "I love it!" he yelled enthusiastically. "I used to watch it as a kid, it's amazing, you look amazing!" Aurora hugged Seth and thanked him again, saying she was ever so glad he was also a fan of Sailor Moon. So that probably wasn't the best thing to admit to a classmate, but Aurora was open and friendly like that; you could tell her anything and it would be safe with her, and she would never judge people. "Where's your Tuxedo Mask though?" Seth asked, handing Aurora a Coke as he took a new one for him; his throat was parched. With obvious and barely concealed excitement Aurora looked around, and spotting who she was looking for darted across and grabbed them to join their conversation. Seth stared at the Tuxedo Mask lookalike with a broad grin, but he had no idea who he was. He asked Aurora this question, and with a wicked smirk she told him. "Kael?!" Seth exclaimed, staring at the suit-clad figure. "Dude, I... I love it! It really suits you!" He tried to stop chuckling. Eventually Aurora explained about Lynne going as Sailor Venus and Seth laughed along with the other two. Yeah. He had more friends in Hufflepuff and in Hogwarts than he had originally when he had arrived - many, many more.

((*stares at Aurora unhappily* I can't believe you're making my poor Kael actually dress up. Not to mention that your picture is of Eternal Sailor Moon, from the Stars era. *huffs playfully* Talk about attention to detail! )) “I don’t know,” Kael looked at his reflection doubtfully, having had the discussion far too many times to raise the energy needed to be disgruntled. “I don’t really think it suits me. I don’t even know why I have to go at all. Isn’t it enough that I inadvertently attended the party last year?” At least he was allowed to wear a mask. That was possibly the only saving grace of the entire night. Of course, it did help that Kael was pretty certain that he wouldn’t be voted as the winner of this inane contest for most creative costume or whatever the requirements were. If he had thought that there was even the slightest chance of him being voted for then Aurora would never have made it within five feet of him if he could help it. Plus, it was a fairly simple costume; nothing elaborate in any way. A long-sleeved white shirt, white waistcoat and bowtie, black tuxedo jacket and trousers and black shoes; all of which he had acquired easily. The black cape had been harder simply because of the red lining and the sheer length of it but Lynne had made herself useful with her stubborn refusal to take ‘no’ or ‘it’s not available’ for an answer. The red rose he had been forced to carry was made from silk, at Lynne’s demand. Kael would have been satisfied with a cotton rose – or no rose at all for that matter! – but his sister liked to have the best, just as she always had. Kael shook his head slightly and then immediately caught his hat as it toppled from his head gracelessly. Bloody top hat. Kael scowled at it. It was more trouble than it was worth, that was for sure. “I suppose I’m grateful that you didn’t make me dress up as a jelly baby,” Kael admitted grudgingly, unconsciously twirling the black wooden cane he had transfigured from a stick of wood in his hand. Anything was better than being a purple mass of gelatine, surely. Even a fictional character that strutted around in a tuxedo, carrying roses even though he had a perfectly functional cane to whack people with was better than a jelly baby. It still wasn’t entirely fair that Aurora and Lynne had ganged up on him to force him to attend the party. And then he had seen Lynne’s costume. Kael grimaced at the memory, for the first time wishing that he and Lynne were in the same party so that he could glower at any idiotic male who dared to approach his twin while she was looking so indecent. Did her skirt really have to be so short? Kael truly doubted it. It couldn’t be practical. If this Sailor Venus person really was a superhero and a protector of the innocent then she couldn’t possibly move very quickly while in a miniskirt and heels. Half the city probably died before the girl was even turning onto the next street. He wasn’t likely to get out of being forced to attend the party – though he did have high hopes of sneaking away once Aurora found some of her other friends – so Kael sighed and looked toward the door dubiously, wondering how long he would have before he was dragged to what was likely to be, for Kael, his doom. “Photos?” Kael groaned, grimacing with distaste for a moment before submitting to Aurora’s will without many complaints. He just couldn’t win against this girl, so he didn’t even bother to try anymore. Aurora just seemed to get her way too easily. Slowly, Kael raised an eyebrow, his scowl already emerging. “For my... Aurora Chan, I forbid you to show those to anyone!” Kael protested fervently, instinctively reaching for the camera and deepening his scowl when she banished it before he could grab it. “I thought the point of restricting this event to Hufflepuffs only was so that only housemates could witness the monstrosity you’ve dressed me up as,” Kael grumbled under his breath and Aurora pulled him along with her. The stupid rule about boys not being allowed to enter girls dorms – which really wasn’t fair when Aurora had obviously proved that she was able to skip into his dorm quite merrily and without any fuss – meant that he wouldn’t even be able to get the camera back. Maybe he could summon it, Kael mused thoughtfully. “Who are you?” A younger Hufflepuff squinted at Kael, trying to make out his facial features through the mask and Kael huffed discontentedly before swirling his cape dramatically as he turned on his heel. “If I wanted you to know that, I wouldn’t have worn the mask, would I?” He snapped rhetorically as he rolled his eyes. Third years could ask the most ridiculous questions. Aurora had dashed off a while back and Kael had toyed with the idea of retreating back to his dorm but guessed that he would just be dragged right back down again anyway. Which made him wonder just when Aurora had started dragging him around, especially since she reappeared at his side and pulled him over to Seth. “Nice costume,” Kael nodded with a slight grin. It was very...Seth. Yes, that was the best way to describe it. “Aurora.” Kael turned his stare to her disapprovingly. “I agreed to come because I was wearing a mask. Doesn’t telling people who I am defeat the entire point of wearing the mask?” Wryly, Kael turned back to Seth and lowered his voice slightly. “I didn’t agree to come; she forced me to. Even broke into the dorm,” he confided light-heartedly. Lynne had, in no uncertain terms, told him to be nicer to Seth because apparently he was scary. Personally, Kael had his doubts about that. If he was so scary then Seth wouldn’t have felt safe sleeping in the same room as him for seven years. But Lynne wouldn’t allow herself to be dissuaded and Kael had no grudge against Seth anyway so he was trying. In his own way. “Yeah, Lynne is this Sailor Venus thing. She wanted me to stick a crescent moon thingy,” Kael waved a hand at Aurora’s forehead to indicate the golden crescent moon there, “on Pluto’s head and call him Luna like she’s done to Jupiter, who is now apparently Artemis, but I wouldn’t put my poor kitten through such torture. She tried and he’s been cowering under the bed ever since. Which reminds me, she wants someone to be a monster so that she, Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask can defeat it amidst much applause. I don’t know where she’s going to find a monster but I know that she’ll kidnap us if she does.” His sister was such a child sometimes. Maybe his parents had gotten confused with dates and Lynne was really younger than him by many years. It certainly seemed like it.

She looked pretty! Sita twirled coquettishly in front of the mirror and felt pleased with herself. She was dressed as a decent version of an Amazon princess, but the outfit wasn't quite complete yet. At the moment, she had already slipped on her long, pale pink dress made from a rough linen fabric, quite low cut and snug-fitting round the upper half of her body, but much more generous in the skirt, falling in heavy folds down to mid-calf level. It swirled out as she spun round, revealing the tops of the dark-leather high-heeled boots that she was wearing. Her hair, still with a good deal of red tinge about it since she'd dyed it at Llanrhystud, was loose and kept back only by a thin strip of leather tied around her forehead. The leather headband had brightly coloured scraps of cotton dangling off it, the colour standing out against her dark hair. Time for the finishing touches. Sita slipped a homemade necklace round her neck: shells from Llanrhystud beach, small wooden beads inset with mother-of-pearl, and tiny blocks of cold marble. She hesitated a moment, and then picked up her painted cardboard helmet. No warrior princess would be very sensible to go into battle without one. She'd judged that a round shield would be a bit too cumbersome, but she did have a jewelled dagger (not real jewels of course, and the dagger blade was made out of wood) secured in the leather belt that she fastened round her waist now. She slung a long hemp bag, containing a couple of wooden sticks with papier-mâché heads on them (they looked quite a lot like javelins), over her shoulder and head so that it was held diagonally across her back, the strap cutting across her bust and passing underneath the opposite arm so that it was very secure. She intended to dance, so it needed to be! The helmet went on, and she was ready to go to the costume party, transformed into a fearsome Amazon princess! The heels made her walk a little more like she actually was one - she threw her head back a little in a proud attitude. However, she wouldn't start looking confident facially until she'd spotted one of her friends (bearing in mind that that friendship group had changed) and been accepted into conversation with them. The first friend that Sita noticed as she entered the room was Sophia. It would have been hard to miss her, considering that she was virtually luminously orange what with being dressed as a pumpkin. The only difficulty was in recognising that it was Sophia beneath all the costume. Sita grinned happily and ran over to her friend. "You look like you've been drinking a lot of Sunny D!" she joked to Sophia. ((Sita's helmet here, but made a bit more cardboardy than that picture. The rest I've hopefully described clearly enough!))

Harmony smoothed down her frilly dress with a small smile. It reached just past her knees, falling outwards from the waist, the colour of dodger blue; the top was buttoned with a cute rounded collar and the sleeves were puffed in an adorable fashion. The underlayer of the dress was soft and pale aquamarine in colour, floating around her legs. On top of her simple dress she wore a pristine white apron-looking piece of cloth, tied around the waist in a large bow. Her tights were matching, and her flat shoes, magicked to be the same colour as her dress, were like slip-on ones, only with a strap to keep them securely in place. Her simple appearance was finished off with a ribbon in her hair that matched her dress' underlayer. "Tonight, Dori, I am Alice from Wonderland," Harmony smiled eagerly at her pet cat sitting patiently on the bed and staring up at her in what she assumed was admiration. "And you will be the Cheshire Cat!" she laughed. Because tonight, instead of wearing her usual shiny black overcoat of fur, Dori was a much brighter colour - purple. And not just one shade of purple! She was striped in lilac and fucshia, from her neck to the tip of her flickering tail. Her face was purple in colour, but Harmony hadn't the heart to magic her cat's eyes gold or yellow. After all, Dori might just frighten all her friends away. "You're not really quite fat enough to be the Cheshire Cat, Dori," Harmony chided jokingly as she picked her up and settled her colourful cat into her arms. "But I daresay you will suffice tonight. I'm sure you'll be the Belle of the ball. You'll steal all my thunder." Rubbing Dori's head and giggling to herself, Harmony left her dorm to arrive just on time for the beginning of the party. It wasn't too long that she saw Aurora, who was dressed as Sailor Moon, Kael by her side as Tuxedo Mask. Harmony had already known about Aurora's intricate plans for Kael, so she'd known who he was as they had approached. However, without prior knowledge even Harmony would've been fooled as to who Aurora's Tuxedo Mask. She complimented her cousin on her handiwork, though Aurora and Kael soon moved off elsewhere - not before Dori had received much attention and admiration from Aurora, of course. Harmony flitted around the party happily, glad of her dress choice; it was not too overstated but it was original enough that no one else had the same costume, thankfully - that would have been embarrassing! Harmony let Dori wriggle out of her arms at some point and let her go, knowing she couldn't subject the poor cat to an entire evening of her chatter. She wondered absently what Rex was doing - what costume he was wearing, as no doubt he would attend the Gryffindor party. It was a shame they weren't in the same house. Harmony couldn't even get Ari to spy on Rex for her; of course not. Ari would have a fit! And she'd never be caught dead attending a party, even if she was the one who had to organise it and collect the votes for the best costume. (( Here is Alice and the Cheshire Cat, aka Harmony and Dori! I changed the colour of Harmony's hair ribbon, because black wouldn't show up against her black hair. And there's the Mad Hatter thrown in for good measure, because I know how much Kia worships him. ))

Post by Billy Brady H6 on Nov 7, 2008 23:44:32 GMT
Billy left Rex with a grin that afternoon, as they made their ways to their own common rooms. Stace had, obviously (being a girl), left earlier, to spend more time working on her costume, leaving Billy and Rex alone to create mischief, as usual. Being Halloween, it was the perfect opportunity to pull some great pranks. They’d spent the afternoon terrorising younger students, in more ways than he could remember properly, but now it was time to prepare for the Halloween party that evening. He did enjoy these parties, but unfortunately with them being in their separate houses this time he couldn’t spend tonight’s with Rex, and would have to make do with his Hufflepuff friends. Despite there being a costume competition, Billy hadn’t really thought much about his costume. In the end he’d decided to go as a “cool devil”…basically a red t-shirt, with a leather jacket red trousers and accessories…flashing devil horns (and trident), a fabric tail, and shades, for the all-cool look. He was well aware that he probably looked like an idiot, but he didn’t care. He wasn’t expecting to win any prizes or anything…he just wanted to have a good time. In the common room, most of the preparations had been done by the time he arrived, and most people were already getting ready. The other guys in his dorm were mostly all there already, in varying costumes…from a mummy to a Prince Charming (the latter of which he didn’t understand, for a Halloween party, and also didn’t understand why a guy would willingly dress up as a prince. Unless he was hoping to find a princess, at long last). Billy had already found his costume earlier in the day, so the various garments and accessories were there on top of everything else in his trunk, so he changed fairly quickly. Meanwhile, he heard the music start in the common room, and students talking, for a good 10 minutes before he was ready to join them. He couldn’t tell what the music was, and the song that was playing when he arrived wasn’t familiar to him at all. He looked round for some familiar faces…firstly Seth, living up to his reputation for being rather skeletal, along with Chase and their respective girlfriends. There was a guy dressed in a tux with a mask, but he couldn’t tell who that was…maybe something to do with the girl dressed in knee-high boots, short skirt and frilly top? It took Billy a few seconds to realise that that girl was none other than Aurora, Harmony’s cousin. Where was Harmony anyway? He looked round for her, wondering what she’d come as. Just before he saw her, dressed as Alice in Wonderland (along with Cheshire Cat), he noticed Sita, dressed as some sort of ancient warrior or something (he couldn’t tell what she was supposed to be), talking to an unknown girl dressed as a pumpkin. It wasn’t long before Sita saw him herself and, as he should’ve expected, started walking towards him, with a big grin on her face… (sorry it's late! At least it's finally done...)

((G-moding of Sophia's response in fact written by Sophia so not exactly G-moding. )) Sophia's laugh was far was far from being a satisfying response to such a hilarious joke, and Sita's face fell. Apparently it hadn't been as funny as she'd have liked it to be. Stacey was much better at wit than she was. "I only meant that you're very orange," she qualified her statement. "Haha, well, it IS a pumpkin, it's supposed to be orange! And can drinking Sunny D actually make you turn orange? It'd be rather funny if it could..." Sophia gratified her with a verbal response, her words reassuring Sita that she had in fact got the joke and found it sufficiently amusing. Sita beamed and was immediately off on a spurt of information divulgence. "Oh yes someone did turn orange, you know! I mean they turned a snowman orange, I remember that. But that was just the advert, there was a girl as well, I think it was because of the food colouring that they had in it. She drank sooo much of it that it turned her orange. And that actually happened. The snowman wasn't real, but I always remember the snowman before I remember about the girl. My mum wrote a paper about it all - she's doing research into Muggle culture and parallels with the wizarding world. Oh look!" she broke off. "There's someone from my year, he's one of my friends now. Do you want to come and meet him?" Sophia seemed about to agree, but then someone came up from behind her (apparently not deterred or indeed deflected by the bulky, rotund pumpkin costume), and requested that she take a photograph for them. So that was Sophia gone... never mind. It wasn't such a big loss for Sophia... Billy looked like a bit of a prat anyway. Red didn't suit him. Plus he might not have bothered to make an effort to socialise with Sophia properly - she didn't think he made much of an effort with her, since it was always her who ended up having to make all of the conversation. Never mind, she'd still go talk to him because at least he was actually a friend, rather than a let-down. Let-downs were friends who went off together all the time to do sappy romantic things and somehow, incorrectly, seemed to think that was reasonable grounds to ignore and leave another friend out. Oh, but wait, she actually didn't need to feel too hurt anymore. In truth, she did still. Ingrid had been her best friend for so many years and... it was probably never going to stop rankling. But at least she was an accepted part of another group of friends now, she didn't have to worry about that. And perhaps, just to show that she didn't need them, she could flaunt the fact that she, too, had a male friend; they need never know that actually Billy was a bit boring, dogmatic and - since he'd shown very little interest in Sita or any other girl, and she didn't think he was gay - apparently asexual. Sita strode over towards Billy, her high heels clicking on the floor. She grinned at him expectantly, but apparently he didn't get it, so she frowned and put her hands on her hips. "I thought you liked this song!" she complained as a track started. "Aren't you going to ask me to dance, then?"

Billy sighed as he saw Sita walking over towards him. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her – he did, she was a good friend, and had been for a while now. It was just…she was…clingy. Yes, that’s it…clingy. Admittedly he couldn’t blame her, since her old friends had gone their separate ways, leaving Sita lost and alone, with not much of an idea what to do…and he’d been the one she decided to be her friend. At least she was better than Stacey, jumping all over him and not giving him any free space, like Stace was with Rex. But…whenever Sita saw that Billy was alone, and she was alone herself, she always came over to him, and after a few months he knew what to expect. Not that he didn’t enjoy her company, it was good to have a non-Stacey girl around that he could talk to and get a female perspective on things. And he hoped that she got the same out of their friendship, getting a male view of the world…
He’d heard a few times that girls often enjoy the company of boys more than other girls, for reasons he couldn’t understand. Boys were…well, boy-ish. They liked getting muddy, they liked cars and sport and technology, whereas girls liked girly things, like staying clean and clothes, and pretty pink things that he (and he guessed most other males) couldn’t stand. Maybe it was purely to get a male-eye view on the world, maybe it was the advantage of having a friend you didn’t fight with over stupid things, and could act as somewhat of a confidante with certain issues. Realising how much he’d just thought about the issue, Billy realised that maybe he knew more about girls than he originally thought, though they’d still remain a mystery to him. He just hoped that the other statement he’d heard on the subject wasn’t true…boys and girls can never be friends without one falling for the other… because that could only mean one of two things…either he would end up falling for Sita, or she’d fall for him…either of which could be disastrous.
Billy didn’t want a girlfriend. Not just yet anyway. Unless said girl happened to be a certain Miss Chan, and not one of the ones in 7th year. He was only 15, still a kid, with his whole life ahead of him-why bother with girls when you could be having REAL fun? That last thought, about boys and girls being friends, had made him worry…what if it had already happened? What if Sita HAD fallen for him…at least it would explain her clinginess, despite it having the opposite effect, if that was the case. But as far as he knew, Sita didn’t want a boyfriend either, so he hoped there was nothing to worry about. She was a good friend, but her bounciness and eagerness to see him were slightly worrying, in an odd way. He hoped she just valued him as a friend who had accepted her when everyone else seemed to have brushed her aside, but…he didn’t want it to be any deeper than that, as he feared a bit.
By the time he’d finished this thought process (which happened to be much more involved than he was used to…why did girls have to be so…confusing!?), he’d subconsciously managed to finish his drink, smile, and wave at Sita as she approached him. It wasn’t until she mentioned that he liked the song that he noticed it had changed, and to one of his favourite songs (though he didn’t like to admit it) – “livin’ la vida loca”, by Ricky Martin, which had been very popular the previous summer…and he couldn’t help but hope that Sita was nothing like the girl the song was talking about. “yeah, I do quite like this song…not my usual taste though” he said, in answer to her question He was more into more what many people would call “hardcore” music…with loud drums and brilliant guitar riffs. But he didn’t mind listening to the cheese coming out of the speakers at that moment…typical party song that he guessed would still be popular for many years to come.
Sita’s next statement almost made him either spit out or choke on his drink…she asked whether he was going to ask her to dance. His immediate reaction was more like one of complete horror than anything else. Billy Brady? Dance? No way would he ever be caught on the dance floor…especially with a girl that wasn’t his girlfriend…not that he wanted a girlfriend, and especially didn’t want Sita as a girlfriend. What on earth was she thinking, asking if he was going to ask her to dance? Surely she must be kidding, surely? “Are you being serious?” was what those thoughts translated themselves into, “you want me to get up there and dance with you??” he couldn’t help but take a small step back, almost bumping into the table…thank God Rex wasn’t here…he’d never let him forget this! What worried him most was…Sita wasn’t likely to be joking. Or, rather, she would be being serious, even if it was in a jokey way. He raised his eyebrows “…you ARE being serious, aren’t you?”
He just hoped this wasn’t confirming his fears…Sita hadn’t given any direct indication that she liked him in that way, unless she was trying to be subtle, apart from the clinginess, which could purely be due to her…insecurity, he guessed, over her previous friends. What’s more, the song had now changed, to something much slower, much more appropriate for dancing to – he could no longer use the music as an excuse to avoid it, and it would have to be a slow dance too. He silently cursed Ronan Keating, with “when you say nothing at all”, which was popular at around the same time as the last song. “ummm…do you want to dance…to this?” he said, with a hint of fear in his voice…what was he letting himself in for? "Billy Brady, you…idiot!” were his last thoughts before Sita responded…

“Mirror, mirror! Tell me!” “Oh! This joke is so old, baby!” replied Mia quickly. “Oh! I know, I know.” Eugene turned quickly to her. She was wondering what she thinks about her costume. It was a dark angel costume. But already, it had a magic twist. The costume can begin to greaten when the owner become angry. But now, she was feeling better and pretty. This state could reverberate to her pretty face. “Wow!” said Mia to her. “You look like a pretty angel, not a dark angel.” Eugene giggled and Mia mouthed, not understanding why Eugene smiled at her. “And I know,” Eugene stopped to smile. “But the costumes’ wings are magical. They can change to a both of large wings when I feel so angry.” Lowered her voice a little. “So large wings!” “Oh! I would see them. May be you will be angry for something in the party!” And Eugene louded. “No!” Continuing, she mouthed. “I don’t want. I said to the owner of costume shop, but there was nothing to do for my costume. ” At that moment, Mia stood up to next Eugene. “No! You must not say this. Your costume is wonderful for me and I am wondering its’ large way. So amazing! Large and wonderful wings!” And both of them began to giggle. Eugene turned to the mirror touched her hair. Looked herself for a minute. And she looked Mia’s reflection on the mirror, she mouthed again. “Why aren’t you coming and joining us?” “Oh! I told you, Eugene!” “Okay.” She cut in. “You dislike parties, like Yoora.” “Who’s Yoora?” “Never mind!” She dogmatized. Eugene checked their outfits once more in the mirror before she went to ‘the place of party.’ When she went out her dorm, came to the party place in the common room, she had begun a bit excited. But two or three minutes later, she indulged, beginning to move her body slowly listening the party’s music. One boy was drinking next helself and suddenly, he poured out his drink to Eugene’s collar. However, suddenly, she became angry. She could not block her about that. “What are you doing?” Eugene shouted. And suddenly, her wings became to be large and large. She didn’t notice it, at first. But someone said, “Wow! Look at her wings!” shocking. Eugene didn’t hear him either, because she was trying to clear her collar with an handkerchief. After she dried her collar she had felt her wings. Calmed down. Slowly, both of them began to become small. Bit by bit…
