Halloween Costume Party!



To celebrate Halloween, there will be a special costume party on 31 October, where all Gryffindor students can convene in the Common Room for a few hours of fun and games - and dressing up. To make the night more interesting, your costumes will be judged by your fellow housemates; therefore, please make them as interesting, wacky or exaggerated as you can. The party will be begun by Scott Ryder, 6th Year Prefect, or myself. Once this happens, it means the party has started, so get posting. Then, everyone can vote for the best costume, which should be sent to me by 7 November (see here for more details about voting). Thank you, and see you there.

Dear all Gryffindors,

Please ensure you arrive on time for your classes, as losing points for such a foolish mistake so early in the school year would be disastrous for Gryffindor winning the House Cup. Please do your best to attend your classes, work well in lessons, and hand in your homework diligently. I have no doubt we can to surpass our adversaries this year.

Dear Gryffindors,

To be frank, I expected more than twenty points by the end of the first term - most of which I had to strive to earn because no one appears to care about the House Cup. I have no qualms, so much, about Hufflepuff winning at the end of this year, but I refuse to be beaten by Slytherin; I refuse to come last out of all four houses without trying harder. If I can answer a question in class, then all of you, with mouths bigger than your egos, can answer a question in class. If you expect me to sit on the sidelines and pretend I can't see Gryffindor losing pathetically to Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin, you are sorely mistaken. Points had better start pouring into the Gryffindor jar; otherwise there will be consequences: such as suffering the know-it-all, we-are-better-than-you expressions on the Slytherins' faces at the end of this year. If that isn't enough to motivate you, you may as well not call yourself a Gryffindor. We may have won the first Quidditch match of the season due to some talented playing from the team, but for the rest of you, your contribution has not been nearly enough these past few months.

Once again, may I remind you that you are Gryffindors, and we can be better than everyone else - especially Slytherins. So, go and earn some points. If anyone even so much as loses us five points I will personally see they are punished and regret everything they had ever done to tarnish Gryffindor's pride.
