A fire warmed the hearth of the fireplace, and it was exactly what was needed on a finely cold evening such as todays. Julius was sitting in his favorite chair, beside the fire, not facing the entrance to the lounge. He had been bored all day, and with nothing to do he had spent at least half of it here. Although it was boring, that didn't mean nothing had happened. he ha received a letter from his father telling him his mother was doing fine, and what was more, she was pregnant, with twins, girl and a boy! At first the thought of having a little brother and little sister, was unappealing, but then he realised he wouldn't have to live there. It wasn't that he didn't want a little brother, it was just that he didn't want to change them. He pushed those thoughts out of his head, as the fire reflected in his eyes, and sparked an appealing idea into him.
From where he sat, he placed a super sensory charm on himself, and then a charm to throw his voice. He would wait for someone to enter the room, and would then proceed to badger them, possibly making them think a ghost was harassing them. Awaiting his first victim, he wondered what type of person it would be. His sensory charm went off shortly, and told him it was a short person, a girl, and not young, possibly sixth or seventh year. As she entered the room, he said " Hey shorty, where's the meeting for lolipop guild?" The voice would be coming from right above the doorway, and he didn't say it in a mean way, rather it had a certain giddy fun to it.

Mikayla giggled to herself as she glanced over her shoulder, expecting to see Filch come running after the crash. Sure enough she thought she heard him in the distance, though she couldn’t be certain. Warm brown eyes were full of laughter as she tried to quicken her pace to get away from the ‘crime scene’. This time she had decided to wreck havoc on the suits of armor. Really she hadn’t meant it to be so loud….okay that was a lie. The familiar fray of voices began to travel down the hallway in search of the culprit. She jammed her hand into her mouth to try to keep from giggling as she slipped through into the boys lavatory…yes the boys lavatory. On the 6th floor, where she was located, the boy’s lavatory contained a secret passageway that she had accidentally found her 2nd year…it led up to the 7th floor which was far enough away right now that she wouldn’t get into trouble fore being the one that set up all the suits of armor in a row and then knock them over like dominoes. No…that had definitely not been her.
Mikayla had to stifle another giggle as she slipped through the passageway and then up to the 7th floor. She looked around quickly as she stepped through the secret door behind the painting and then continued down the hall. She thought she was home free until the distinct voice of Filch made her stop dead in her tracks. He was coming up the stairs seeing if anyone was close enough to be caught. Mikayla winced to herself…she was not in the mood to sit in Filch’s office a second time this week. Her eyes flickered over to the door of the student lounge and she quickly slipped through the door to keep Filch from seeing her.
As soon as the door shut behind her a voice sounded above her making her jump in surprise. She turned quickly, her mouth opened to say something, but…no one was there. Mikayla looked around the room…she didn’t see anyone in there…her eyes drifted up above her and around her trying to find the source, but there didn’t seem to be a source. “Just because I lack in height doesn’t mean I don’t make up for it in spirit…” Mikayla said out loud…think, or assuming there was a ghost or some prankster yet to reveal himself or herself. “And call me a munchkin again and you’ll be dealing with the Wicked Witch of the West instead.” Her words didn’t hold much threat, as the comment actually amused her more than sent her into a fit of rage. What could she say really…she was still having an adrenalin rush from the incident with the suits of armor? “Who are you?”

He could hardly contain his laughter as the girl jumped with suprise. Maybe this day could be saved with humor after all. He heard the girls reply to his disembodied voice, and it was evident that this was becoming the funniest event that had happened all week. She had gotten his reference to the Wizard of Oz right away, and what's more, made her own. She had spunk, all, was it maybe five feet, of her. Smiling to himself, he pondered what to say next. The girl however made up his mind for him, asking who the voice was. Grinning mischievously, staring at the fire, he took a moment to collect his thoughts.
It took only five seconds for him to reply, " Okay, how about I call you a moderately inconvenient, drastically graceful, emphatic treasure?", in the same amused voice as before. This was of course an anagram; when you take the first letter of the words, it spelled out midget. He had come up with that surprisingly quickly, and knew that it had been a very good joke on his part. He then decided that maybe he ought to answer her question of who he was. " I am a ruggedly handsome wizard, my real name you will have to guess, it starts with a J. For now though you can call me Leo." he said. She had two hints, one for his first name, another for his house and last name. In his mind, he thought, ' This could get interesting.'

Okay so now this voice was starting to sound like the Wizard of Oz…which meant that he must be behind some sort of curtain…hopefully, maybe. He was good…that was definitely one way of putting it. He was already spouting some sort of answer to her question, which she was sure was some derogatory comment…she just wasn’t exactly sure which part of it was. Mikayla would be the first to admit that she wasn’t as logical as she needed to be, but that didn’t make her stupid…she had wit…lots of it. So as she took a few seconds to try to figure out what he had called her she took that time to glance around the room. She was taking notes of everything…she knew someone had to be in there, or maybe they had the room rigged to go off and this was merely just some amplification from another room and she was indeed just talking to herself while the man behind the curtain was down the hall or in a dormitory? Okay…so maybe that was a little far fetched, but at the same time…this was a magical school.
Finally she gave up on what he had called he, determined though to figure it out later she memorized the phrase quickly while he continued on describing himself. She was trying to think, searching through her mind for anything that could possibly give away who he was. The fact that the charm was so clever led her to believe he was probably an older student…one that took pride in being a prankster, which meant he had a high probability of being in her own house…that should narrow things down. “Ruggedly handsome eh? So you’re probably 6 foot…or taller, work out, probably a Quidditch player…am I right? Your name starts with a J…and I can call you Leo…?” The smirk fell over her face quickly…that last clue had been his undoing…it was far too easy and Mikayla was definitely not in the mood to win the game yet. She took a few steps into the room, her eyes falling across the tables and then over to the windows on the other side of the room. “Jason maybe? Or how about Jake? Joseph…Jared, Jacob, Jerome? Am I getting close?” She was smirking ear to ear as she slipped he way around a set of chairs toward the front of the room, before continuing on.

Julius knew he would be caught with the clues he had given her. His surname was solely unique to the whole lion franchise of names. If the girl was Slytherin, then Leo would undoubtedly be linked to his name, due to most of them wishing to turn him into chum, and if she were a fellow Gryffindor, then Leo would be just as easy to figure out. Awaiting the conclusion of the who facade, he wondered to himslf whether she had figured out his anagram. His thoughts were interrupted however as she began to list back everything he had said, which brought yet another grin to his face. She was undoubtedly figuring it out, for she was describing him in his entirety.
As she listed off names, he laughed, the sound being thrown behind the girl. After he had ceased, he said, " I have a cousin named Jason, but alas that is not my name. As for the others, Joseph was the closest, it having six letters in it, and being cosest to the later letters of the alphabet." This was beginning to be quite an interesting time, and he hoped that possibly the girl was appreciating his joke. The supersensory charm didn't tell him if the girl was smiling or not, but he hoped she was. He loved making others laugh, smile, and especially shout for joy. His mind raced to a question for her though, for he kept calling her girl in his head. Shaking with anticipation, he asked, " Since you're ever so inquisitive, who are you?" He could hear her footsteps getting nearer, and so he sank deeper into his chair.

Mikayla grinned wide when he laughed. That was good…she knew then, without a doubt that she was right on who he was. It was obvious now to her. The prankster attitude, the game playing…the cracks against her height…She didn’t need the confirming clues about his 6-letter name to know who he was. She smirked to herself as she continued the game, her feet moving quietly, or what she hoped was quietly. “You have a cousin named Jason? Interesting…but your name isn’t Jason or any of the ones I’ve already listed off…however Joseph is rather close to your name, because it has six letters in it. Hmmm…then is it Justin? Jessie? Julian?” It took all of her self-control to keep from laughing at the last name she said, the game was getting to be far more entertaining than she thought it would be at this point in time.
Feet brought her around another table and chairs, her whole form turning around as she found herself near the center of the room. Warm brown eyes were still searching the voice out…and now he had another question for her, this one more entertaining than the last. “I’m neither tall, nor young, but find no problem with either one. I have a habit of getting into trouble when I should be on my best behavior. Some call me Shorty…Some call me Smiley…Some call me Munchkin, but that one I consider a sin,” Mikayla said, the humor in her voice obvious now as she continued past the table she had stopped in front of, he eyes focused now on the fireplace and the chairs in front of it.

OOC: ( I love that you used Justin ) IC: Julius' grin broadened as she continued her list of names. He could tell after the last name she said that she knew exactly who was the man behind the voice. The fire in front of him wasn't as intense as it was before, yet it still had the glowing pride of a fire that wouldn't go out, and it caught his gaze as he was once again lost in his thoughts. He knew that she was getting closer, and that she might well be popping up next to his chair within a matter of minutes. How best to handle the situation, he wondered, absentmindedly putting his hand in his pockets. Feeling an object in it, he realised an answer to his dilemma, and pulled out the object. He stiffled his laugh as she answered his question in as much the same manner as him, with a hint of amusement in her voice....... amusement in her voice! That was it, she was short, and obviously appreciated his prank, perhaps she was.... but maybe not, best not to get to far ahead of himself, he thought. Looking at what he had pulled out of his pocket, he used his wand to inscribe his name onto it, just Julius though. It was one of his newly patented silent fireworks. They offered all the usual aspects of fireworks, except without the deafening bang. It was a simple combination of materials, and it only required one good silencing charm. Lighting it, he waited, and threw it above his head, where it exploded with an disturbing silence. It spelled out his name in letters the size of a house-elf.

OOC: Couldn’t help myself. ;D
IC: Mikayla smirked, as she seemed to draw closer to the fireplace. She knew now that this had to be where he was hiding himself. There was no other place possible, unless he really had taken to hiding behind a curtain in the lounge, but still she didn’t see any feet sticking out at the bottom of them. The game was fast coming to an end it seemed as she drew nearer. Her mind had completely forgotten why she had dodged into the Student Lounge, now completely focused on the backs of the chairs that sat before the fireplace. Her small form trying to make out a figure in them from behind, but that didn’t seem to be happening at all as she took another step closer.
One foot in front of the other and then suddenly they both stopped as a silent, but brilliant firework appeared from one of the chairs…it’s explosive lights spelling out the name Julius, as if she hadn’t already guessed that one. She laughed and clapped her hands in amusement, before she took the final step and slipped between the chairs, her eyes traveled down to look at him in the chair. “Nice fireworks. Don’t happen to have any more of those do you? Or do I not need to spell my name out?” She grinned wide at her fellow housemate. It was a pleasant surprise to say the least…out of everyone that could have been cranking her she was glad it was someone she at least respected as a fellow troublemaker.
Just then, the door to the Student Lounge burst open and there stood Argus Filch…Caretaker. ”It was you, wasn’t it Moon…You were the one who decided to play dominoes with the suits of armor. McGonagall will hear of this…my office…now,” Filch growled out his form hobbling into the room. “Sir, I have no idea what it is you are going on about. I have been in here studying for charms for the last two hours…” Mikayla said with complete confidence and reassurance, her eyes flashing down to the still hidden figure of Julius only once. “Honestly…I haven’t touched any of those suits of armor.” Really it was a feeble attempt to try to get away with…but with Filch he didn’t catch the slight inflection that could determine she was lying…truth was he always that she was lying and today was no different…that’s probably why he merely growled before jerking his head back in the direction of his office. “Detention Moon…if only we could resort to the old punishments maybe that’d teach you a lesson.” Filch mumbled a few more unintelligent words about the old days of Hogwarts and the torture that was allowed to go on back then. Mikayla merely rolled her eyes. “I have proof, Sir,” she said her eyes flickering back down to Julius, hoping he’d understand the desperation to help her get out of this situation.

Julius sat up straight as the girl clapped at the display he had created. He still held the wonderment as to who she was, but he would know soon enough. Using his wand, he added another log to the now dying fire, and waited patiently for the girl to appear. He didn't have to wait long as she appeared as if out of nowhere right next to his chair. It was, as he thought, Mikayla Moon. She was a fellow Gryffindor seventh year, as well as an ardent prankster, perhaps that was why she had come in so suddenly earlier.
She asked a few questions, but he hadn't fixed his voice yet, so he couldn't reply. He was about to end his charm, when suddenly the second most disliked man in the castle appeared, Argus Filch. Scowling, he slumped in his chair, just as he drew near to Mikayla and himself. Listening to Filch was like listening to a broken record really, a lot of ' you did this..', ' if only we had torture like the old days...', really he ought to have given it a rest over the years. He listened intently as Mikayla tried to state her case, and then said she had proof. He could tell she needed his help, but if he appeared there, Filch would just say they both did it. However, a stroke of inspiration struck Julius as he remembered his charm was still working. Donning his best immitation of Peeves, he said gleefully " What's the matter Filch, you can't catch zilch. T'was Peevsie it was, oh it was such fun." He then followed his impression with one of Peeves' infamous cackles, that seemed to fade away into the distance, which was actually just the charm wearing off.
With an almost inhuman growl, Filch turned around to chase after the voice. At the doorway, he stopped, and said, " Maybe it wasn't you this time Moon, but I have my eyes on you." With that, he hurried off muttering about Peeves, closing the door behind him. Looking at Mikayla, Julius said " Now that was close, what did you?" His voice was gleeful, for anything that bothered Filch was bound to be humorous, or dangerous, or dirty.

Mikayla couldn’t have been more impressed with Julius’s impression of Peeves as Filch seemed to explode with both anger and humiliation. He knew better than to go around accusing poor students of being the culprit to some elaborate scheme that had Peeves written all over it. The look on Filch’s face truly was priceless as he scowled and headed out of the room, intent on tying to catch Peeves before more damage could be wrought. Mikayla’s attention however turned back to Julius. “Peeves eh? Very good impression…probably one of the better ones I’ve heard,” she said with a smirk as she dropped down in one of the empty chairs, her small form pulling up and fitting into the chair with room to spare.
Mikayla grinned at his question… “I lined up all the suits of armor on the 6th floor and played dominoes with them,” the amusement in her tone was priceless, as was the look of pure joy on her face at the memory. It had truly been one of her more amazing pranks; as of late it was different and exciting. Of course she still had every intention of carrying out her greatest prank of all time…but that would be reserved for her last day at Hogwarts. She didn’t want to be getting expelled before she was finished, or did she? Mikayla giggled to herself softly as the huge smile lit up her face. “You should have heard him when he found the mess. I thought he was going to murder the one who did it. I’m not sure if even Dumbledore would have been able to stop him if he were still here. Funny though…It wasn’t that bad…not like last weeks redecoration of the statue heads, or the week I turned all the paintings upside down.” The grin was still prominent on her fact as she looked over at Julius. “So besides fireworks and supersensory pranks what have you been doing? Anything exciting? Like transfiguring all the spoons in the great all into bats…….huh that’s not that bad of an idea now that I say it outloud.”

Julius smirked at the praise for his impersonation of Peeves, and would have bowed had he been standing. It really had been fun to mess with Mikayla upon her entrance, but tricking Filch had been the best of all. It really was one of the best activities that Hogwarts could offer, even if it wasn't one that it listed. He looked at Mikayla as she sat down, and grinned. She was small in terms of size, and the chair was big, so there was some room left in the chair. ' Joking aside', he thought ' I can't believe that this is really the first conversation he had ever had with Mikayla.' It was odd, seeing as they were in the same year house. They had talked before, but mainly small jokes. It was a little easy to explain though, as most of his friends in school had always been older than he.
Julius laughed out loud when Mikayla told him of he deed; it was no wonder at why Filch was so mad. He even wished he had thought of it himself, but maybe he could do something a little more ellaborate.... he would think more on the matter later. Mikayla continued with he talk, and Julius nodded his head in agreement, for Filch might well murder someone before his Caretaker days were over. He laughed again as she described some other pranks she had pulled, saying, " So those paintings were your doing, man some of those potraits were po'ed." Still chuckling, he heard her ask what he had been up to. Gathering his thoughts, he replied, " Well I've been creating other objects for mischievous use, as well as pulling some small pranks. I didn't transfigure the spoons to bats, but I did put a sticking charm on the Slytherin's benches the other day, did you see that? Oh and I found out I have a pair of younger siblings due in a few months." He said the last bit without much enthusiasm, but was still undecided whether or not he disliked the idea of being an older brother.

Mikayla had pulled her legs up to sit cross-legged in her chair, her hands in her lap as she listened to Julius. It was surprising really…over the last seven years the two of them had seen Filch’s office probably just as often as the infamous Weasley twins, but yet they had never spoken with each other about it. Sure Mikayla had seen the results of Julius’s pranks, just as he had seen the results of hers, but some Mikayla was sure she hadn’t heard about. For example the sticking charm on the Slytherin benches… “That was you?” she asked in amused praise. “I nearly died laughing when one of the girls ripped her robes in an attempt to get off. I assume you never got caught for that one?” Mikayla had watched the 7th year girl throw an absolute fit about it to Professor Snape, who in turn had set off after the culprit…Mikayla assumed Julius had not been caught though, seeing as how Snape probably would have tried to expel him like he’s always trying to do to certain students.
Mikayla leaned forward at his last sentence. “You’re going to become an older brother? That’ pretty exciting wouldn’t you say?” Mikayla asked, she hadn’t missed the less than enthused tone of voice Julius had taken on. If that had been the situation with Mikayla she would be ecstatic at the possibility of becoming an older sister. She’d always wanted a little sister or brother to hang out with…it would make her days away from Hogwarts a little less lonely. As it was though, she was not an older sibling and she never would be. “Really, you ought to be excited…or if you want we can trade relatives for a while…” Mikayla said with enthusiasm, her grin wide. “I’d love to be an older sibling for a while and you can try to convince my grandparents that you stayed out of trouble at Hogwarts this year. Just be careful Filch sent a letter to Grams last month over some prank I’ve forgotten about. Grams probably won’t be too happy.” She laughed lightly at the prospect of having to sit that conversation out, while she flipped her hair back out of her face. “Sound good to you?”

Julius saw her cross her legs out of the corner of his eyes, such smooth...... what was he doing noticing her legs. He wondered at this, but knew it was normal for guys his age to notice things like that. Shaking his head, he tried to keep his eyes to himself, if it was possible. He had known that many of the Slytherins would be hunting for the culprit, but his identity had remained hiden, although a few Slytherins had believed it was him. Turning his thought to speech, he replied, " Yeah, the Slytherins had no clue as to how they got into thier sticky situation." He grinned with gleeful inhibitions, never able to resist one when he remembered a well planned prank.
He listened intently as Mikayla conveyed her thoughts on the situation of his family. Yes, he had to agree that it was indeed exciting. He loved the idea of being the role model for the boy, as well as the over protective big brother for the girl. He realised shortly however that he shouldn't have mentioned family. He had heard about the unfortunate accident that had involved her parents. Taking a glance at her, a flicker of pity crossed his face. He had sounded less than enthused about the twins, but Mikayla hadn't even gotten the oopurtunity to even feel that way. His face had only showed his feeling for a moent, and then donned it's usual look of relaxed amusement.
He composed himself before he answered her suggestion. Happily, he noted that his voice was unchanged as he replied to her , " I don't know about trading, for I've become quite attached. They have grown used to the usual reports of misbehavior and wrongdoing. I think that my father was much the same as me when he was here." He paused a moment, for he had to consider his next proposal, and continued," However, if you would like, I believe you could visit every now and then. The only ones who had ever been there were Perseus and Jaquin, and it's been awhile since they had been around. I'm usually there alone, with only my guitar and my broomstick to keep me company." He knew that most people that had just met wouldn't have invite someone to thier homes right away, but he loved it when people visited, especially friends. It was at times like that, that he trully missed his old friends.

Mikayla thought she had caught sight of a flicker of pity in Julius face…and for a split second she blushed. It was so fast though she may have imagined it…truth be told she hated to be pitied. She lived a good life…a poor, but good life. Her grandparents had done well by raising her, spending all of their money just to see her go through Hogwarts. They gave her everything she wanted…yes, it was disappointing to not have a mother or father, but at least she had family to take care of her. Some people didn’t even have the luxury, which was rather sad if you asked her. There was a time when she was younger when she saw the injustice of it all, but that time had come and gone rather quickly…thanks to her grandparents who showed her how truly blessed she was to grow up in a world where magic still existed.
Mikayla didn’t let the pain get to her…she hardly felt it anymore, her bubbly personality far too wild to really dwell long on the negative aspects of life. She was an eternal optimist and as such she smirked wide at his response. “I don’t think Grams will ever get used to my pranks. Granda seems to enjoy hearing about them…he went to Hogwarts once upon a time and was in Gryffindor I think. He doesn’t talk about it much, but he enjoys my stories,” Mikayla laughed softly to herself as she recalled the latest story she had told him about. Her grandfather was definitely her hero in more ways than one. She loved him like a father and to her he truly was her father, the only male figure she remembered.
“But yeah I’d enjoy hanging out. I tend to drive Grams nuts over the summer…but then I guess I really don’t have much to worry about anymore now that Hogwarts is nearing its end. Just a job and all that jazz,” Mikayla smiled at the thought…it was both a happy and depressing thought. To go on with her life would be a grand adventure, but to leave Hogwarts would be to leave a great part of her life…a part that she would truly miss. It was heartbreaking to her in a way, but she knew it would all be okay…it always was. Mikayla’s eyes flickered over to Julius as he mentioned his guitar…she didn’t know he was into music. A smile grew on her face as she adjusted herself so she could see him properly. “You play the guitar? Me too…though I’m not very good. I’m better at singing or playing the piano, but I’ve been trying to teach myself the guitar for a while. You don’t happen to be a pro at it and dream of giving lessons for free are you?” The grin was wide and sly as she waited for a response, hoping he would at least consider helping her out.

OOC: Sorry, I have this song stuck in my head and must type it. This looks like a job for me, so everybody just follow me. Cause we need a little controversy, cause it feels so empty without me.
IC: Julius smiled as she described her grandfather, who sounded like he would more than likely get along with his father. However it reminded him that he hadn't known his grandfather, yet he was told that he was like him in more than looks. Raising his left hand to his necklace, he absentmindedly stroked the individual chain links. He still had his grandmother though, which was a great thing, for she was the best grandmother in the world.
His attention returned to the present when he heard Mikayla's voice through the fogginess of thoughts. He smiled as she mentioned that life at Hogwart's was almost over, and he certainly knew the feeling that she undoubtedly felt about it. He was happy to be going on, but would miss the lazy afternoons spent with friends near the lake, at the pitch, and especially one significant night when he and his older friends had snuck into Hogsmeade. A grin had appeared on his face from these reminiscences, but it was short lived, he couldn't live in the past. Shaking the cobwebs of memories from his head for now, he focused all his attention once more on Mikayla.
He noticed that she seemed to perk up at his mention of the guitar, and knew that he had found a kindred spirit in the love of music. At the suggestion of guitar lessons, he laughed, saying " A pro you ask, well I'm really more of an aspiring star." He then proceeded to do the proverbial check up on an potential guitar player. He did all the necessary looks, and then clapped his hands together. It would appear amusing, if she had seen any other guitar teachers do the same. He smiled, and said " Lessons would be fine, but you'd have to give me piano lessons. I too like to sing, and perhaps I might try and work my way into the music industry, if I don't succeed with Quidditch first."

Mikayla couldn’t help laughing lightly at the mimic of the guitar teacher persona…which was to a tee she might add. She had seen that once before, though admittedly it was on a movie as opposed to any real life experience. Her grandparents couldn’t afford to give her lessons or anything so she was forced to learn all on her own, though she had picked up a job two summers ago in an attempt to earn some extra cash in order to get a professional teacher, but as her luck would have it that money would need to go to her grandfather’s failing health and to keep the household running.
“Learning to play the piano is definitely easier than you probably think it is. I taught myself…sorta, Grams is the pianist in the family and she was gracious enough to teach me what she knew. I’m not as good as she is, but I do try,” Mikayla said with a smile that warmed all the way to her heart as the memories of her grandmother attempting to teach her when she was little. Truth was…she didn’t have pianist hands, her fingers were short, long, but short, which any teacher would have told her flat out that she would never be a good player. Now she could charm anyone that walked in on her playing…she loved it, sometimes more than she loved magic…hey maybe she could use magic to make her fingers longer?
The thought drifted off as her attention returned to Julius, his words making her smile. They had a lot in common, so much more than Mikayla had thought possible. “What team do you want to play for?” she asked, her form bouncing up a little on the chair as she sat her elbows on the arm of the chair so her chin could rest on her hands. She felt like she was five years old again listening to the piano for the first time. There was so much to take in and it was so unfamiliar, yet strangely comforting and deeply satisfying. It was comfortable and Mikayla was absolutely enjoying herself.

He saw her place her head on her hands, and knew she had realised wht he had. They had undoubtedly missed out on a lot of years of good friendship that would have been fun. Yet, life wasn't over, in fact they were still technically in the training wheels part of llife, still in school. He listened to her talk, and it was hard not to laugh as she described her learning of the piano. It was similar to his learning the guitar, except he had taught himself solely, and was now shredding like the lead guitarist of Darker Arts. He could even play their song, 'Raging Dragon Blood', which was no small feat. He piped up, and said, " I'm sure it will be just as hard as learning the guitar, well depending on the type of songs you want to play. I'm much more of a rocker than anything." This was one of the things his parents did however not like about Julius' personality, his sudden change of wardrobe and taste in music.
He thought of his parents for a moment, but at the question Mikayla had produced, he beamed with child like innocence and glee, This was the one aspet of the magical world where he stood out with exceptional skill, well besides DADA, but that was a given. Looking her in the eyes, he replied with great enthusiasm, " I plan on playing for the Winbourne Wasps, Ludo Bagman is about the only noticeable player from the team in their history, but they have talent. I will make my mark there by leading them to the World Cup." This was his most desired of dreams, but he had only ever told four people as such, and now a fifth person knew. He was being quite open with himself for his first true conversation with Mikayla, yet it was his way, and she was much like him, not to mention pretty. Still smiling, he asked, " What do you plan on doing after the year is through?"

Mikayla would have assumed someone had set her up, that this meeting was planned and carried out to prank her in some form and fashion. Why did she think this? Because Mr. Lionheart here was just too much like her. There were so many similarities between the two of them and she was having a hard time remembering that they had just met, well not just met, but having their first conversation. She felt absolutely comfortable there with him, like they were old friends. Mikayla began to laugh lightly at his mention of being a rocker. “I’m afraid I don’t know much about rock music and the piano…my grams wasn’t one to teach me that, though I’m sure I can jazz up a little Mozart for you,” she smiled wide in good nature.
Mikayla found her smile turning into a smirk at Julius’s absolute glee to talk about Quidditch. She loved the sport as well, but he seemed to truly enjoy it. “Of course they have talent. Haven’t they won the League Cup 18 times?” Mikayla said with enthusiasm. “I think it’s awesome that you want to do that. I would have gone, personally for Puddlemere United…but it’s only cause I like the colours better.” She smiled slyly before laughing. “But no really…I think you’ll do great with the Winbourne Wasps. As for me…honestly I haven’t thought too much about the future. I want to be an Auror really…I get into trouble so much it’d be nice to have some immunity, somewhere.” She grinned. “Really it’s between doing something with music and leaving the wizarding world like my grandfather did or becoming an Auror…I haven’t truly decided yet.”

Jumbled words flew around Julius' as Mikayla talked to him. He had heard everything she said, so it wasn't her words, they were simply random thoughts that had felt the need to escape. Of course, first they had to bunch together so that a thought of randomness would become an exclamation of randomness. However, the words seemed to quiet down as Mikayla spoke once more. She didn't know much about rock music she had confessed. Smiling, he replied," Not many others at school here listen to rock either, which is a shame. It has an explosive energy in it that once abosorbed, could make your soul dance with ecstasy." It might sound odd to certain people, the remark he had just made, but it was true none-the-less, at least for him it was.
When she mentioned the Wasps league record eighteen cup wins, he was caught off guard. Not many people were aware of that fact, for the Wasps had played abismally the last three years. Yet, Mikayla had spouted off this tidbit of information as if it was common knowledge. Here was a girl who knew her quidditch. Puddlemere United, she said, what a wonder she was. Puddlemere was a good team, no doubt, but he had seen her play, and thought she could play for a better team. Although, maybe she was like him, and flying was good anytime, and for any team.
Hearing her say that she wanted to be an auror, he grinned. " If you are interested in becoming an auror, then talk to my parents. Both are aurors, and very respeted in the profession." he said aloud, with a hint of pride in his voice. " Becoming an auror is also on my list of possible job oppurtunities. It doesn't hurt though when your parents press you to join the ranks of wizards and witches whose sole purpose is to catch wrong-doers." he had said, continuing his train of thought. He would have wanted to become an auror even without his parents pressure, but flying was in so many ways much more appealing. He still wondered what his career path would be after Hogwarts. He brushed a strand of hair out of his right eye, peering at Mikayla curiously.

Mikayla laughed softly, “Oh it’s not that I’ve never listened to rock, I quite enjoy it actually. It’s more that I’m not sure I can actually play it on the piano. When I think about playing the piano I just think classical muggle music, since that’s all I’ve ever played on there before. I have to admit though…I’m a punk rocker myself. Growing up in the muggle world has its good moments,” Mikayla said, her sly smile glowing on her face. Truth was that Mikayla loved the muggle world as she did the wizarding world. She had the best of both worlds and for that she was very grateful. “But I do have to admit rock music does have some unearthly quality to it that just causes mass amounts of energy. I, especially, enjoy it when I’m out skateboarding in York.”
Mikayla’s smile turned to one of shock at Julius comment about his parents. “I had no idea your parents were aurors. That must have been quite interesting to grow up around…and frightening with Voldemort…er…He-who-must-not-be-named…or whatever,” Mikayla corrected herself. She didn’t see the point in not saying his name like a lot of other people, that coming from her muggle personality probably. She failed to be frightened by what he had done, though she certainly did celebrate when he was destroyed, even though it took the life of a housemate she had come to admire. “So what do your parents think about you wanting to become a professional Quidditch player?”
