Dylan's mind began to slowly spin as he continued down the deserted corridor. Thoughts of possible outcomes of what he had just done tried to make their way to form a clear picture in Dylan's mind, but he didn't let them. Theo was a cool guy. So what if he's gay. It's not like he cared what any of the idiots around here would say when they saw Dylan and Theo hanging out next Hogsmeade visit. But, Dylan knew whole heartedly that once they were seen together, word would spread throughout the entire school just like hot gossip usually did at Hogwarts; at light speed. Whether you were the most popular of the popular, or the king of the losers, you were talked about. Even a nobody like Dylan who would go out of his way to be invisible to people heard new rumors about himself every week. But, Dylan didn't care. Let them talk, as long as they didn't talk to him.
But, this year was a new year, and very, very different circumstances. Come to think, it was a very, very different Dylan. He was alone in the most literal sense of the word. This year, as much as it made him want to turn his wand on himself, Dylan wanted to talk to other people. He wanted, friends. Not alot, just one or two. He already had Mary, so, one down. Theo was definitely a potential candidate, but it was way too soon to think about that. Wynd, well, that was just out of the bloody question. Dylan shook his head and ran his hand through his hair. It didn't matter. He wasn't about to force anything. Like he did everything else, he would just let things run their course, and deal with the outcome; whether good, or bad.
Coming out of his thoughts and into his surroundings, Dylan found himself in the Courtyard. It was no surprise, considering this was where he would go to do most of his thinking, but he turned on his heel and went the other way. He wasn't sure if he wanted to think about anything too hard right now. He just wanted to, wing it. To just, do and not think. Maybe even be a little reckless. Not that he wanted to do anything crazy; he had way more sense and self control then that. He just wanted, change. He wanted different. He wanted something more than what he was used to here.
Once again he was walking without any real destination in mind, and a few minutes later he was standing outside the Library door. He looked in and saw it was fairly empty, but he didn't go in. He didn't know what he wanted to do. He was restless. But then he thought back to where he left and what he was doing, and realized that he had been so disconcerted by his conversation with Theo that he packed up his essay without finishing. Sighing, he walked into the Library and went to his usual table in the back. He threw his school bag down casually onto the table, and lazily plopped down in the chair. Dylan loosened up his tie, and undid the first two buttons on his shirt. He leaned back in his chair and pressed his hands into his face and kept them there. He felt like he was in limbo. In between what, he knew not. He sat up straight, and began taking his schoolwork out of his bag.
