Scott normally didn't mind Charms class, but today's lesson seemed to be dragging on forever. Perhaps it was the fact that he hadn't slept well the night before that made this class seem to last longer than normal. If it weren't for the instructions to practise some of the spells at their seats, Scott was worried he might fall asleep. In fact, a few times, he found himself nodding off for a second, only to wake up when the weight of his head falling jolted him from his sleep. He could have sworn that the person behind him was laughing at the fact, but Scott was too embarrassed to turn and see who it was. He just needed to keep trying his best to pay attention to Professor Flitwick and manage to stay awake for the remainder of the class.
What seemed like hours later, but was only ten minutes or so, the bell chimed, indicating that it was time to move to the next portion of the day. Scott was happy that he had a free period so that he could go to his room and nap. Rarely did he take naps, but he was in desperate need of one today. After his nap, he assured himself he'd be able to get all of his homework done for the next day. The students around him began to pack their things, and he did the same, stuffing his book in his over-packed bag. Scott wasn't the most organized person when it came to keeping things neat. He could think in a very organized and logical way, but it didn't carry over into the way he kept his room or his belongings.
As the line of students filed out of the room, Scott noticed the group of Slytherins that had given he and Theo a hard time a few months back. That was one thing Scott hated about Charms class: there were a lot of Slytherins in his class. Most of them though didn't seem to cause as many problems as Gary and his gang though. Scott lingered back for a bit, waiting for them to exit so that he wouldn't risk another encounter with them. It wasn't worth his time or effort to have to deal with them again.
As he slowed to wait for Gary and his cronies to exit, Scott saw another Slytherin who was on his way out drop a paper from his bag. The boy didn't seem to noticed though, and so Scott walked to retrieve the paper, tapping the boy on the shoulder to get his attention. "Here, you dropped this," Scott said simply. When the boy had turned so that Scott could see his face, he recognized him from the recent Quidditch match. He was one of the new players on the Slytherin teamd; a Beater if Scott remembered correctly.
"That was a short game the other day against Ravenclaw," he said. Scott wouldn't normally open conversation so willingly, but he was desperate to look as though he was doing something so that he could wait a little longer as Gary and the rest of his Slytherin crew left. "It felt like it barely lasted a few minutes compared to the Gryffindor/Hufflepuff game." Scott smiled, refraining from making any comments that might sound like he was bragging about catching the Snitch in the match. In fact, he really didn't feel comfortable when others would bring up the subject either. It didn't anger him or anything, it just made him feel a bit uncomfortable, as he wasn't always sure what to say.
