“I’m fine, honestly.” Theo’s protest was weak and forced as he slipped on his trainers, keeping his eyes firmly turned away from his roommates. He heard Lori protest, expected it and again made his excuse – “I’m fine,” he tried for the fourth time with increasing exasperation, knowing full well if he exerted himself properly Lori would have to give up. "Lo, I'm fine," he repeated and turned to flash a falsely bright smile. "I'm just going to go for a walk. I'll be back soon. I've been getting in yours and Scott's way; I know when I'm not needed." Attempting a nonchalent shrug Theo gave Lori a calming pat on the shoulder before hurriedly heading for the cabin door, desperate to leave the oppressive atmosphere he shared with her and Scott. He managed to look to them once with a small smile before shutting the door behind him, leaving only either of the two to shout, "But the rain--!" Theo barely registered the warning though, or the sweeping clouds against the grey sky as he headed aimlessly through the woodland area, arms across his chest and his blonde head down and staring at the grassy, leafy floor. He wore a mere plain blue shirt, a grey cardigan over it, and a pair of loose jeans, a muggle clothing that was easier to wear around the Llanrhystud campus.
An image of Scott sitting on one of the beds beside Lori and staring after his fading figure moments before flooded Theo's mind. Scott. And guilt. That was what he associated his classmate with nowadays. Besides Lori, anyway. Theo stifled another self-pitying sigh and continued trekking at a steady pace forwards, barely noticing where he was heading. The Welsh forest was large and expansive; one could easily get lost, as the intructors had informed them the first day they had arrived, which was the day before yesterday. Theo had been here for forty-eight hours and already he was regretting sharing a room with Lori and Scott. It was just so difficult. It made him nervous and uptight, and Theo hated acting anything but himself. He couldn't relax, couldn't become comfortable, and the best parts of the trip was when he wasn't even with his friends, when he had interesting classes to attend and avoided Lori and Scott religiously... Like now. Guilt. Yes, Theo felt terribly guilty when he thought of his two closest friends. He looked at Scott and felt his heart lurch. He glanced at Lori and felt his heart fall and land painfully in the dust. They were wrong feelings, but they existed and Theo had learnt to cope with them... sort of. His escape was these woodlands, this beauty and fresh air and lack of oppression. It was freedom. Delicious freedom.
Breathing in the chilly air that signalled sunset about to start, since it was nearing 7 p.m. and the students had already had their dinner, Theo again failed to notice the faint smell of rain lingering. He continued to saunter across the woods, large trees shading his path overhead, though the clusters of blustering leaves didn't completely obscure the view of the sky from Theo's ground position. When he finally gazed upwards he could see the dazzling rays of blood red streaming across the sky, letting him know the day's sun was disappearing over the horizon, not to be seen for another twelve hours. Theo allowed himself a small smile until he remembered what the colour red was constantly reminding him of, and he lapsed into an even heavier silence of solitude. Oscar. Anger. Red. Those were things he associated with the other Gryffindor, the other boy who had crept into Theo's life and made a big hand print all over it without his permission. Theo wished he could blame Scott, but that was impossible, and he thought he could blame Oscar too, and yet... after their argument a few weeks ago Theo had deflated and couldn't find the energy and willpower to continue hating Oscar - which he had never done anyway in the first place. Just, in the heat of the moment he had been so angry...
Theo hadn't seen Oscar since then anyway. He hadn't wanted to. And thankfully God had been kind and the two of them hadn't met. However, Theo had completely forgotten that Oscar would also be attending Llanrhystud (something he'd tried to get out of initially anyway due to the Lori and Scott issue, but had failed because Theo did everything with Lori and their parents were confused to why this had to change). He'd only remembered when he turned up in Wales with Lori and lo and behold, there was Oscar, just a few metres away, chatting to someone with a completely relaxed and friendly aura. Theo had almost tried to hide behind Lori, but fortunately for him Oscar hadn't seen him and Theo and Lori were given the keys to their cabin very soon so they left. Theo heaved a long sigh as he contemplated him and Oscar's argument for the hundredth time. He regretted some of the things he said, and they hadn't been controlled or appropriate. However, when he recalled Oscar's words Theo's heart ached so painfully... Did the Gryffindor really mean what he said? He sounded so heated and harsh... His words must reflect some of his real thinking. And Oscar wasn't gay. Theo could barely believe that. But if he was, what would he do about it?
It began to rain. Not that Theo really noticed, not until his hair was leaking droplets and his shirt was soaked through he began to shiver from the cold. But he didn't care; he couldn't go back. It was irrational, but the older Theo got the more irrational he became, which was ironic. He continued to walk through the rain at an even brisker pace, but the stormy weather just became worse and soon he was drenched through and just as uncaring as before. He watched a curled, wet leaf float across the grassy carpet as he finally came to a stop in the middle of a clearing in the woods. Nature... it reminded him of Oscar too. In frustration Theo attempted to block out all thoughts of the Gryffindor, knew it was just unhealthy to continue thinking about him when their friendship was evidently over. Theo's eyes trained on the leaf and he tried to maintain focus on it, his entire attention on the one object. However, when the leaf stopped before a... a shoe, Theo started visibly, and that's when he heard the crunching of soaked leaves pronouncing footsteps he hadn't previously noticed. Someone was with him. Alarmed, Theo's eyes spun up to see who the feet belonged to, forgetting the leaf, until his gaze landed on the one person he had been hoping to avoid for the entire trip. "Oscar."
The dark haired Gryffindor stood before him, also wet, also quiet. Theo felt his nerves twist and he stood stock still for several long minutes, both silent and awkward, until he knew he had to break it and make light of the situation. "Oscar." He forced a genial smile. "What a coincidence, seeing you here." Theo made himself walk closer to Oscar, keeping his eyes trained on anything but the Gryffindor's eyes. However, he stopped when he was a metre from him with only a stretch of ground and the heavy rain separating them. The water continued to soak Theo's hair, the blonde locks trailing down the side of his face, his forehead, to leave more droplets trickling down his cheeks, from his eyes, as though he was crying. Finally Theo said, "Fancy seeing you here. I didn't think I'd see you so soo--" And that was when Theo was cut off and got the biggest surprise of his life.

Theo Darke. Did it stand for anything? Theodore, maybe? Oscar didn't know. He'd thought about it for a moment earlier in the day, and now the question returned to him just like so many others about Theo. The mysterious Theo. Oscar thought about him constantly. Everything he knew about Theo had gone through his head at some point during the last few days. He'd realised, as if he somehow already hadn't, how little he knew about the Ravenclaw. And how much he regretted not giving Theo the chance to show him everything. After their fight Oscar, surprisingly, hadn't actually thought about him. For a day or so he'd dispelled any hint of Theo-related thought from his head. But it was different now. It had been different ever since he'd seen the other boy in the queue for cabin keys. Oscar had been on a greeting and meeting mission, saying hello to all of his friends and basically anyone in general. He'd dropped in on a few of Elsie's friends to see if she had arrived, before rembering he and the younger Ravenclaw hadn't actually discussed her going to the center. Oscar was determined to get back into his old self in Wales; which meant making friends with everyone, attempting new things, and probably flirting with some the girls he liked that had shown interest in him before the holidays.
But... it wasn't right. It was as if he were living in a dream. Floating through everyday tasks with the same smile, the same greeting ready on his lips. In that queue on the first day he'd been with a seventh year who had once given him Quidditch tips in his second year. They'd had a brilliant talk about the new chaser for the seventh's year's favourite team, the Montrose Magpies. But despite the lively conversation available it had been impossible to ignore the blonde hair that had caught his eye. He hadn't looked at Theo. He hadn't even given the slightest indication of having seen him, merely continued chuckling at whatever nonsense the Montrose Magpies supporter was saying. But he had seen him. And that had jolted everything in his mind. It had triggered the switch that released all of his thoughts on Theo Darke.
Sitting now with his knees pulled up to his chest on a stone bench in the Llanrhystud woods, Oscar surprised himself by not wishing away the thoughts on Theo. That argument had been wrong. He shouldn't have let the anger he'd managed to control for so long take over. Oscar had thought that by confronting the situation the best way he knew how- head on- he could fix it. But Theo hadn't backed down like he'd expected. He hadn't admitted to playing with Oscar which only made the Gryffindor feel guilty for thinking that he had been doing so; because of course, Theo had not been playing a game. At least he knew that now. Instead they'd had a fierce fight which had destroyed Oscar's comfort zone completely, hammered through the walls of his mind's protection, and all in all shattered everything the boy's had held between them. But during it, Oscar had noticed something in Theo's eyes. It was an emotion he only saw in his own father's eyes and he couldn't give it a name. But seeing it was enough; seeing it made him confront, finally, the emotion he himself held for Theo. Because somewhere along the way Oscar had become muddled with Theo. The fight had made him grow-up in an odd manner. He now wasn't afraid to admit it: he, Oscar Flynn, supposedly straight, had feelings for Theo. Feelings that yearned for more than friendship.
He was completely alone on the stone bench and was glad for it, for if someone had spoken to or looked at him he would have felt as though they somehow knew about his new-found affection for... a guy. What did that make Oscar now? Was he... was he gay? This was hard to believe as he knew he'd felt for girls before and often still did. Oscar felt a bit like a small child, with his knees up so tight and his arms wrapped around them tightly, unable to figure out who he was. But he wasn't a small child. He was almost seventeen and he couldn't ignore what he wanted now.
A rustle sent his train of thought careering from the rails. It wasn't late; it had been half six when Theo, Jez and Sophia left their cabin; Jez and Sophia were visiting friends in other areas of the camp. Oscar had said the same but could tell that Jez knew it was a lie, although he didn't ask any questions. The weather was getting steadily worse to the point where Oscar was only protected from rain due to the large tree above him. He hadn't expected anyone to come out into the woods. He set his knees down and squinted through the rain at the figure. A flash of grey stood out from the dark greens and browns of the woods. A slim, male form. A slightly ruffled head of golden blonde hair... oh, f**k.
In his black winter coat over an equally dark woollen jumper and dark grey jeans Oscar certainly didn't stand out as much as the Ravenclaw. He walked slowly towards the clearing in which Theo now stood and remained at the edge, hidden by the shadows. Clearly Theo was freezing; Oscar found it hard to push down the urge to place his own fur-lined winter coat over his shoulders. He felt the need to protect the other boy, or at least attempt it. Theo seemed... lost. Oscar stepped from the shadows slowly. He now faced Theo.... it was impossible not to look him in the eye. It was impossible to move, impossible to talk, impossible to do anything but look the Ravenclaw in the eyes and sink into them. Then... Theo began talking. His voice slid over Oscar like the rain which was only just beginning to fight through his first thick layer now. Theo wasn't looking back at Oscar before but now, as he spoke meaningless words, his eyes flickered to Oscar's brown ones for a moment. The distance between the two had somehow got smaller. It was impossible not to shorten it even further and take that last step to Theo.
It was impossible not to gently push Theo backwards until he touched the hard surface of a large oak. It was impossible not to murmer, "Shutup, Theo." And then Oscar joined Theo in leaning against the oak. They were now sheltered only a small bit by the branches above them but this still didn't stop rain leaking through and pouring down Oscar's face, wetting his hair, his lips. It was impossible not to lean forward confidently and, with his hands holding Theo's arms against the oak, kiss the Ravenclaw hard on the mouth. His eyes were open for a moment to see the flash of surprise in Theo's blue eyes before Oscar closed his own. And then Oscar poured everything into the kiss. His emotions, his feelings, his apologies for starting up that stupid fight. It was more aggressive than he'd planned but he didn't soften his press against Theo's lips for a few moments, unable to break free of the impulsive need to show how he felt in the best way he knew how. When, finally, he drew back, his eyes were alive and bright as they ran over Theo's face. His hands released the other boy's arms as he realised he'd been grasping them quite hard. The rain dropped from his lips as he spoke, breathless.
"I'm sorry. For the things I said, not for what I just did. I didn't mean it, Theo. I don't hate this; how could I? It's just... I needed time. I still do. But I can't fight it anymore. We can't fight it anymore..." His voice trailed off with a croak. He supressed the urge to kiss Theo again and leant back just a bit. Only now did he realise how fast his heart was beating, thumping beneath his chest with a power he hadn't felt before. His eyes didn't look away from Theo's face as the rain fell harder and faster around the two.

"Shut up, Theo."
The first thought that made it to Theo’s brain was a puzzled “Eh?” – where was Oscar’s anger now? Where were his stinging words and painful remarks? – before he was pushed gently against what he assumed was a tree, his back hitting the bark and coming to rest there. Overhead, dripping leaves showered more raindrops down onto them, and Theo noted how wet Oscar was too, brown hair clamped to his cheeks in such an adorable way… No, no, no such thoughts. Remember what will happen to you if you think of Oscar that way, Theo reminded himself. Oscar was straight, that was obvious. So why was he pushing him against a tree…? Theo didn’t struggle; he was too surprised to struggle, too mesmerised with Oscar’s eyes as he stared in bewilderment at the Gryffindor. What was going on? Was Oscar going to hit him now? Before Theo could ascertain this or protest Oscar was leaning over him, his tall figure coming closer and closer until Theo could see the raindrops on his dark eyelashes, the glittering emotions in the other boy’s eyes. Theo’s breath caught in his throat; for a moment he couldn’t even breathe. He barely noticed Oscar lacing his fingers through both of his hands and pinning him to the tree, his entire body exposed to him. Theo didn’t struggle one single bit; he just let Oscar have his way with him.
And that was when it happened. Oscar leaned in that inch further to close the tiny distance between them and—holy—kissed, yes kissed Theo on the mouth! A thousand words – mostly expletives he would never utter aloud – ran through his head as his eyes widened in surprise, Oscar’s own ones staring straight at him and conveying something Theo found difficult to believe was happening in real life. Oh, this had to be an illusion, a dream. But it was so real, and Theo could feel every inch of Oscar’s mouth pressed against his, warm, so warm compared to the stinging cold of the rain. Wrapped beneath Oscar’s body and pressed against the tree, Theo felt safe, secure… as though every single piece of wrong was falling into place to make right. It took Theo several seconds – and by this time Oscar had closed his eyes and was kissing him hard, could he even say passionately, as though this one kiss was the most important of his entire life – before he responded, shutting his eyes and letting instinct take over, kissing Oscar back with just as much fervour and desperation. He could understand what the Gryffindor was trying to convey through his need and he accepted it – “I forgive you, everything’s all right. Everything’s going to be OK.” Theo wanted Oscar to understand him too, and he kissed him back with the most passion he had ever kissed anybody.
Not that Theo had kissed many people before, and all of them had been boys. He had never kissed a single girl in his life and he didn’t have any inclination too. Theo’s first kiss was with his first ever crush, the boy who had made him realise he felt much more towards his own sex than to the opposite. It had frightened him, his own feelings, but that person, they had taught him it was OK to feel this way, lots of other people were like him too… He wasn’t alone. And when he had kissed Theo, Theo had finally understood… This was him. This was Theo Darke and he couldn’t be anything or anyone else. Him and the older boy had never seen each other again – they had met on holiday before Theo’s fifth year – but his memory lay with him ever since, and he was thankful to that boy for what he created and found in Theo. The real him. Since then he had kissed only a few select people… boys around his age, all on holiday, all out of sight of Lori and his family. Just a few innocent kisses, nothing special or passionate or needy… not like this kiss with Oscar. It was the first time Theo felt a rush of blood to his brain, an excitement tingling in the pit of his stomach, awakening all his senses. He pushed his body closer to Oscar’s, could feel the other boy’s heart beating faster and faster as they continued to kiss with the rain showering around them, and he pressed himself more into the warmth that was Oscar, savouring it all… savouring him.
Finally the dream ended and Oscar pulled away, staring avidly at Theo’s face for a reaction. Panting heavily, Theo remained speechless as he looked openly back at the Gryffindor, waiting for a response from him first – a worded explanation perhaps. He felt Oscar letting his hands go, barely felt how hard he had dug his wrists into the tree bark, and they fell by his sides, forgotten. It was as though Theo had no control over his limbs, so frozen and numb from his experience. At last, Oscar decided to speak, and his voice, so familiar, sliced through the silence, through the patter of rain against the earth. Theo listened intently; his eyes only had room for him, for Oscar, and nothing and no one else. Oscar was all that mattered; Oscar, not Scott. There wasn’t time for Scott any more but Theo didn’t notice his absence. He took in the other Gryffindor – this Gryffindor, not the other Gryffindor – his words and his face and his eyes, everything about him, from the soaked hair to the honesty of his tone of voice, and felt his heart melt. It was cold and freezing and stormy, but Theo’s heart felt warm and safe and happy. Because of Oscar… Oscar and his words. Finally, when he had finished speaking, and Theo had absorbed all he had to say, he found his own words, and carefully began to talk, cautious and hesitant, because he didn’t want to sound weird or get it wrong. It was more difficult than ever to be perfect with Oscar, but Theo liked that… he liked it a lot.
“You don’t have to be sorry,” he started quietly, looking up at Oscar with as honest a gaze and tone of voice he could find. “You don’t have to be sorry, because… if you’re really like, you know, me.” Theo flushed at this point, but resolutely continued. “Not everyone gets it right the first time. Not everyone finds it easy to accept it the first time round.” He implored Oscar’s eyes to search for any trace of doubt. “So if you really mean it… No, I know you mean it, I believe you. It’s just so hard to… comprehend at this stage.” Theo couldn’t help a chuckle of disbelief. “I can’t you just… we just…!” Shaking his hair and letting more rain cascade over his eyes, Theo’s blue orbs grew soft with fondness and he let his hand travel to Oscar’s coat collar, fingering the wet material with gentle affection. “I believe you, because… no one has ever kissed me like that. Ever.” Theo was making himself completely open and vulnerable, more so than ever before. “And I loved it. Honest.” A grin was blooming on Theo’s face; he couldn’t help it! He was so ecstatic now that it had all sunk in. “I wasn’t ever really fighting you… Like you said; how can I fight this? How can I fight you?” Smiling broadly, Theo’s finger tugged at Oscar’s coat, pulling the Gryffindor closer to him, his taller body shielding his smaller one from the thickening rain he barely took notice of. “You’re impossible to win against, Oscar Flynn,” Theo murmured softly. “And I hate fighting with you.” Just when Oscar’s lips was a centimetre from his own, so close he could feel the other boy’s breath along his jaw, their eyes set on each other and each other only, Theo paused and gave a delighted smile again. “Kiss me again.”
Without waiting for an answer he captured Oscar’s lips once more, feeling the now familiar rush of euphoria wash over his freezing yet warm body. Kissing Oscar softly, Theo let the Gryffindor take it where he wanted to, since he felt he was the more dominant one. Oscar was a hard kisser, Theo a soft kisser, but both were passionate and both felt the same way. Theo felt like he was in heaven, even if the world was crashing down around them, because it was as if only they existed, and only they mattered this moment in time.

Theo had given in to Oscar immediately. The kiss… afterwards, as he spoke, Oscar hadn’t been fully aware of his words; his mind was still on what he had just done. How had he even done it? It was amazing. Sure, he was confident. Brave, even; he was after all a Gryffindor and there was that clichéd fancy that all Gryffindors had the boldness to do anything; ever. Of course that was not the case. You didn’t have some sort of special, natural valiance just because you joined the Gryffindor house. Oscar knew many Gryffindors who were scared of things like spiders and innocent little wasps. (Oscar himself hid a secret fear of mosquitoes; it was that incessant, eerie whining that could set him squealing like a small girl…) But that kiss had come so naturally and so easily. He hadn’t needed to call upon any sort of boldness, hadn’t needed to muster all of his inner strength to do something so unlike his normal every-day activities. And he, for some reason that was unknown to him too, simply hadn’t been anxious about Theo’s reaction. Obviously the Ravenclaw would be surprised. Oscar was even surprised in himself above almost everything else he had felt. But he had just had that need, that need to kiss Theo with everything he could possibly put into a kiss. He hadn’t cared about what Theo’s reaction should be, should it have been negative. The kiss had simply happened and Oscar had triggered it… and Theo had responded.
His response had filled Oscar with so much hope. Just to feel a need against his lips that mirrored that of his own want was something wonderful. And although the kiss had been completely due to spontaneity initially, what drove it on was the realization in Oscar that this was right. This was meant to happen and in the end, it was inevitable. The odd love-hate relationship between himself and Theo that had been storming in his mind that morning was blown away like a leaf in a breeze, simply because of that love-hate kiss. And the response… not only had it awoken these wild emotions in Oscar but it was so, so good in it’s own right. It was Theo; Theo’s lips and Theo’s touch, Theo’s pressure and ultimately everything Theo beneath Oscar’s body. Inwardly Oscar smiled. For the kiss had been so perfect, so irresistible and very, very sexy. That Oscar would even think of kissing a guy as sexy was amazing. But this didn’t worry him right now. Instead it actually pleased him as he acknowledged the topic that had for so long been a weight on his mind. Now, he couldn’t get angry because of the chemistry between himself and Theo. He couldn’t flame up like he had not so long ago and almost ruin everything in the blind temper he’d hidden deep inside him for so long. For he accepted the situation now. This was obvious and he didn’t need to think about it; he wouldn’t have kissed Theo like he did if he hadn’t accepted the fact.
His words hadn’t needed much thought but he could tell, after speaking them, that Theo was choosing what he said carefully. This was odd; it was as if the two boys had switched positions. For now, Oscar was not the one who couldn’t pick the right words but the one who somehow had gotten something right. And Theo… his words obviously weren’t wrong. They weren’t wrong at all. In fact that fed Oscar’s hope until it grew to an almost unimaginable size. But they were a little less sure of themselves, in a sense. Oscar didn’t reply to Theo’s first comments about getting it right. He did not want to think about such things… he just wanted to envelope himself in Theo’s very presence. And what Theo was now saying seemed like something that Oscar would say too; almost child-like with that joy which was adorable. It took everything Oscar had not to interrupt Theo’s talk with another deep kiss. And that grin! It mirrored itself on Oscar face and told the Gryffindor that surely Theo was feeling just as he was; exhilarated and above all, very, very happy.
He didn’t have to wait long to kiss Theo for the second time when he asked for it. But this time Theo met Oscar in the middle and it was so, so perfect, exempting any clumsiness. He took more time over showing his affection in this kiss. While his first had been pure need and want, this was warmer and a little gentler; although the passion was certainly still very much there. Oscar hadn’t held Theo’s arms this time, but instead his hands came up. One rested gently and yet ever-presently on the back and side of Theo’s head, with Oscar’s thumb just in front of the other boy’s ear. He was still oblivious to the onslaught of rain that attacked them still so relentlessly.
After a moment of this bliss, with great and obvious reluctance, Oscar pulled back. His eyes were fresh and bright. He leant back slightly and an almost mischievous smile played across his lips. Now, finally, he noticed how wet the two had become as a result of all of the rain. He took a step back- but not before giving Theo another fleetingly harder closed kiss. And then he stepped back again away from the shelter of the tree. One more step… now he was in the midst of the rain. It poured around him and there was really no escape now; he was soon soaked through. But he didn't care. For some reason that was unknown to him he had this strange urge to be in the rain now. He took his eyes away from looking at Theo's, where they had so far been gazing it. Instead he cast them upwards. He threw his head back to go with this. Soon, his arms were raised into the sky and everything was suddenly alive. The rain pelted him but no longer as an attack; it seemed to float around him and yet still at him. He was able to watch each droplet fall through the air as if in slow-motion. The water filled his eyes but he was still able to keep them open. It was beautiful, seeing the rain coming down upon him through the trees and the oncoming darkness of night. For no reason at all he began to slowly turn in an anti-clockwise circle. After a moment of this he laughed; a deep, bellow laugh that came from inside him and rose in a bubble of happy and joy. And then Oscar beckoned Theo to him. Soon the Ravenclaw was by his side once more and Oscar, unable to stop himself, kissed him again before laughing out loud. It was like a dream, a rain-filled, very wet but very perfect dream. But it was not such a thing. It was all so real and that made it even better. The rain continued to pelt down on the two as Oscar continued to grin and both of them continued to get wetter and colder.
This too soon became apparant to Oscar. And Theo wasn't wearing as much as him. He shrugged off his coat smoothly, as if the movement was a dance in itself, and pulled it over Theo's shoulders. And then he pulled the Ravenclaw closer to him until their noses were almost touching. Another kiss. A grin. Another kiss. Now, a laugh as an idea flew into Oscar's delirious mind. His cabin... it was empty, was it not? And would be for a few hours yet. The two were soaked and no doubt would soon catch a serious cold if they stayed out in the rain; it was time to get a little warmer. After suggesting they move into the cabin and get on some clothes that weren't soaked through, Oscar held the boy close to him and grinned on.

Melting. That was the only word to describe how Theo felt as he and Oscar kissed again, meshed together in sparking emotions and raging rain. Theo was only semi-aware of the trickles of water running down his neck, soaking the already drenched collar of his cardigan. His flimsy clothes, dripping in rain, became glued to his skin like a second layer, that was how wet Theo was, but he paid it no heed, because his only focus was Oscar, the way Oscar's lips moved against his own, the faint taste of Oscar mixed with rain, the warmth of Oscar's body leaning into his. They moved as one and Theo had never felt quite as whole as he did now. It was as if he had been travelling in a circle, a long, arduous journey, and finally the two ends had connected and everything was complete. Theo smiled into the kiss as he felt Oscar's hand slip to his head, fingering through his damp hair, a thumb caressing his ear. If he hadn't been glued mouth to mouth with Oscar, Theo would've burst out laughing, because despite it being so tender it made Theo's heart ache, it was also one of his sensitive spots and it was a slightly ticklish sensation, coupled with the rain criss-crossing his cheek. Finally Oscar pulled away again, and Theo found himself catching his breath - every single kiss made his heart pound and his breathing catch. Oscar didn't say anything, and Theo didn't want him to. Only silence and the pounding of the rain filled the area. They didn't need words... words were unnecessary now. Neither boy wanted to kill the moment that was theirs and theirs alone.
Oscar began stepping backwards and Theo watched him curiously, still panting and shaking rain off his shoulders. Oscar was just as wet as him, though not as wet through. His coat was much more waterproof than Theo's. A tiny part of him wondered again why he hadn't brought a coat - then it remembered Scott or Lori had reminded him to, but he had ignored them. However, the recollection soon faded away again. Lori and Scott? Insignificant. The rain and being completely drenched? Insignificant. Theo wondered if he was being irrational, but did it really matter? When he was with Oscar all rationality flew out of the window. Theo wasn't perfect any more, but he liked it this way. He was human with Oscar and he was more alive than ever. He accepted Oscar's next, shorter kiss eagerly, feeling his blood rush through his head at how hard and passionate the other boy was. Theo was glad Oscar was the more dominant of the two. He himself didn't have much experience with romantic relationships and although he could be a leader figure, Theo preferred to take the back seat and not the lime light position (even though people enjoyed shoving him into those roles anyway). It was nice to feel protected and looked after, Theo thought as he watched Oscar step back some more, a beautiful grin still lighting his face in the gradual dark that enveloped the Welsh forest. He decided then and there that if Oscar ever wanted it of him, he would follow him anywhere... Theo had never felt that strongly about anyone or anything before.
Theo watched Oscar spinning in the rain with unhidden fondness and joy. He could tell the Gryffindor was happy, and he was happy that it was he himself who had made him happy. The rain poured onto Oscar and continued to seep into his skin, but he didn't seem to care, and neither did Theo from the shade of the tree. He just kept smiling broadly, feeling delighted but a little shy too. Oscar was like a little kid, but it didn't make Theo see him as a child. It just showed an aspect of Oscar that Theo admired and loved - his ability to be so carefree and open and warm and... lovable. Theo was annoyed he couldn't find a perfect word to describe Oscar, but he supposed it didn't matter. Oscar wasn't perfect, words weren't perfect... They had each other. That was all that mattered, right? A playful smile danced on Theo's lips as Oscar eventually looked at him again and he approached the Gryffindor in the rain unflinchingly, barely hesitating as he stepped again into the downpour. Water trickled down his back and he tried to resist a shudder from deep within, because there was no Oscar to shield and protect and keep him warm any more. Theo wrapped his arms around his chest and couldn't help but chuckle; here they were, standing in the middle of a huge summer storm, with pelting rain hitting their heads and soaking them to the skin, and they couldn't care less. Oscar actively drew him to his side again and captured his lips once more, and Theo submitted without protest, enjoying revelling in the sensations that were Oscar and due to Oscar alone.
Oscar's warmth was back but the rain seemed to want to drown them, but Theo's usually extremely sensible mind only minutely acknowledged this. Oscar seemed to notice Theo was cold though, and immediately slung his own coat over his shivering form. "You're going to get really wet as well now," Theo murmured as Oscar pulled him closer again, their noses, with raindrops falling off of them, gently touching. Theo kissed Oscar gently but chastely, an unworded thank you. Oscar didn't seem to get enough though, and was back for more, delving for another kiss, and another, until Theo sent him a pointed look that clearly said, We're in a thunderstorm with rain lashing down on us, maybe it's time to get inside and continue this. Theo's brain activity was returning to normal, not hindered by happiness or euphoria or other such passionate emotions. Oscar seemed to get Theo's message and immediately suggested his cabin that was empty. Theo was grateful not to have to return soaked, with an equally soaked Oscar, to his hut that he shared with Scott and Lori. He'd have a heck of a time explaining that one! Grinning, Theo nodded his assent and the two moved towards Scott's cabin. "You're sharing with Jez and Sophia, right? Where are they?" Theo asked as they neared the cabins area. Every huts' curtains were drawn and no one was out. Theo felt gleeful - he had done something completely out of character, completely wild and spontaneous by kissing Oscar in the stormy rain. And it was absolutely worth it, to be different and rebellious for once.
Theo's hand gripped Oscar's as he was pulled into the empty cabin and into enveloping warmth. Theo let out a sigh of relief and contentment at the welcome heat and immediately looked to Oscar and laughed, seeing water dripping off his long brown hair. "You're soaked," Theo chuckled. He smiled into Oscar's eyes and planted a brief, amused kiss on his lips, before letting his hand go with some reluctance. He needed to get rid of these rain-soaked clothes. Quickly, Theo began to strip off Oscar's coat, his grey cardigan and his shirt, piling them on the floor in a wet heap. His shirt peeled off his damp skin and Theo chuckled out loud again, letting it fall to the floor to join the rest of the building pile of clothes. Before he took off his trousers as well, Theo glanced at Oscar questioningly. "Do you have a pair of trousers I can borrow?" he asked with a slight blush dusting his cheeks. He took the pair Oscar handed to him gratefully and eventually managed to slip them on. They were a pair of baggy but comfortable sweatpants, black in colour and much too long for Theo's shorter legs. He laughed as he moved around in them, showing them off to Oscar. "It's OK, I can survive without a top. It's pretty warm in here anyway," Theo couldn't help but grin playfully as he turned down also borrowing one of Oscar's t-shirts. Waiting for Oscar to finish changing also, Theo approached him again with a growing grin. His hand went to Oscar's chin, pulling it down to meet his own face due to the height difference. "Now, where were we...?"
They kissed fervently for a while, one of Theo's hands coming to rest on the dip of Oscar's waist, the other on his chest. When they finally drew apart Theo sat down on the floor by one of the bunk beds and motioned for Oscar to join him. The Gryffindor was in his usual playful mood though, and the two boys tussled until Theo gave in and sat between Oscar's widespread legs, the other boy's arms around his waist. It made sense though, since Theo was the smaller of the two, and he leaned back into Oscar's warmth eagerly. "You know," Theo said after a short, comfortable silence. "We're going to have to keep this a secret from everybody." He said it without reluctance but amusement, turning his head slightly to nip at Oscar's ear and cheek because he couldn't turn fully to take his lips.

Oscar had felt so good in the rain like that, on his own. But that emotion had just intensified a million times when Theo had joined him. There was something so brilliant about this new found feeling that Theo had pulled up from inside him and awoken- and who knew if it would ever sleep again now? Oscar didn’t want it to. With all his heart, he really didn’t want it to. He’d never felt so… so comfortable in himself before and so, so happy. What with all the confusion earlier, it was no wonder he was comfortable and a little more sure of himself. He’d finally settled his mind- at least, for now he had. But he couldn’t be bothered to think about the future just yet. Theo was here. Theo was now. And if Oscar didn’t grasp him quickly he might be out of reach forever. Oscar was not prepared to let that happen. He tried his best to show this as he clutched Theo to him in the rain now. That smile… Oscar had noticed it when Theo had come to him from the shadows beneath the oak. It was playful, teasing even. But more than anything it understood. What it actually understood Oscar wasn’t sure, but it made his feeling of indescribable comfort grow that little bit more. There was an amused expression on Theo’s face (at least there had been until Oscar kissed it away) and the Gryffindor loved that. This wasn’t all serious and boring; it was fun, it was alive. It was Oscar and Theo.
Had Oscar been a cat his ears would have twitched, alert , to Theo’s words. But he was just a human and instead he followed a more dog-like manner and cocked his head slightly. He’d just given Theo his coat… he’d just kissed Theo for the first, second time ever. And Theo spoke about Oscar getting wet? He didn’t care! He didn’t care if he got wet. He didn’t care if he fell into the Llanrhystud lake right now. He didn’t care if his mother walked through the trees with her silly fashionable umbrella above her and saw the two together. He didn’t care if Jez or Scott or any other student strode up to them and saw… well actually, maybe he cared a little about that one. But anyway; the point was there. “I don’t care!” He grinned, muttering a reply softly. All he cared about was this Ravenclaw. This beautiful brilliant Ravenclaw in his fur-lined winter coat. (that was far too big for him; Oscar would have laughed if they were in any other situation.)
But, perhaps Theo did care about the weather and onslaught of rain. This was evident from the look that the other boy threw Oscar after their kisses. It was amusing however and not so troubling; Oscar’s grin did not subside. The look Theo had given him had been almost motherly. Oscar’s suggestion of moving to his cabin was accepted and the two proceeded slowly, Oscar now and then ducking to avoid the odd branch. It was strange, but he hadn’t noticed the trees that were in their way now when he had first walked into the woods. He had taken much the same route. His head had been so muddled and full of crap, maybe he’d just sub-consciously avoided everything in his way. Once again, much like a dream.
“Yeah, Jez and Sophia and Ryann Taylor. They’re inside, waiting…” He grinned, teasing. Even now he couldn’t resist joking lightly with Theo. “Nah. All visiting friends. They invited me, but, well…” He smirked lightly and didn’t look at the other boy. They had invited him, but his head had led him elsewhere. And just look at the result. He was indeed soaked, as Theo told him once they were behind the door of Oscar’s cabin. Oscar didn’t need to look into a mirror to know that his head of hair was dripping as if carried the clouds that were above the cabin now, raining endlessly. He didn’t think about this long however- another kiss was planted on his lips. The electricity ran through his mouth, his jaw, along his throat, only to then spread to every part of his body and fill each corner with alive, buzzing energy. This passed and Oscar inwardly shook himself as he watched, with a small smile, the scene now in front of him. He wasn’t hesitant which surprised him; he was so new to this. But all he wanted was to take Theo in his arms again. Especially now…
His thoughts were broken as Theo stood, completely topless, asking for some trousers. For a moment Oscar was very tempted to deny his request. But soon he rummaged in his drawer for a pair of comfortable and thankfully very warm and dry trousers, handing them to Theo. He didn’t say a word as he did so but a mischievous smile tickled his lips, although he suppressed it enough before it grew and took over his physical actions. This was replaced with a laugh as Theo pulled his trousers on, a delighted grin appearing on the Ravenclaw’s face at the length of the trouser-legs. This grin was soon mirrored on Oscar’s own face. It didn’t take long for Oscar to offer Theo a shirt, which he then turned down, and shrug off his own jumper and top. He kept his jeans on; unlike Theo’s trousers, they hadn’t gotten very wet as his winter coat had covered most of them quite successfully.
The two were now topless, in an empty cabin, and full of emotions and physical tension- what else was there for them to do but kiss? And kiss they did. Oscar was taken over by the situation and the boy before him. It was madness- only days before, Oscar had been straight! And now… what was he? Once again, he didn’t know. But, opening his eyes just for a second, he was reminded of the fact that he was kissing- with obvious lust and passion- Theo Darke… very much male. So he couldn’t very well be straight now could he? Even he knew that. After a bout of playing, mostly on Oscar’s part, the two retired from their antics, Oscar very reluctantly. He was still a little breathless, his head still a little mad and his cheeks still a little flushed, when Theo spoke softly. Keep it a secret… yes, Oscar thought. He didn’t really know why; he just knew. It would ruin multiple relationships and situations if they told people. Once again, the reason and explanation for this didn’t come to him- he just knew it to be true.
“Oh-kaaay-” Oscar spoke slowly and thoughtfully, his voice different from the normal deep tone he held. What could he say? He didn’t care! Once again, he really didn’t care at all. For he would have said more but he was alerted again, although he’d never really forgotten, to the fact that Theo was in between his legs. Half-naked. Half-naked Theo. Half-naked Theo sitting between his legs… Tucking one leg around Theo’s form and beneath himself, Oscar twisted gently and was soon sitting beside Theo and leaning slightly down upon him. Placing his right hand on the Ravenclaw’s shoulder he pressed down softly and leaned forwards. Although Theo wasn’t overally muscular, he was obviously looked-after and Oscar took a moment to run his eyes over his torso cheekily. He himself did a lot for his body and knew he looked good, although didn’t care about it at all. Once again he kissed Theo, this time more forcefully. He didn’t want to talk about keeping things a secret. Why should he? He’d just found this new feeling, new want, new need and he would not let it get away. He straightened out his arms either side of Theo’s head and ducked down again. Softly he bit Theo’s lip before capturing it in a deep kiss. His mind almost ignored the tiny part of him that told him to stop and slow down but lingered on the thought for a second. Once again- why should he! He wanted this. Theo wanted this. For all Oscar knew, the whole bloody world wanted stuff like this. Love and feeling, physical and mental connection. Now Oscar had it and he refused to give the world the chance to snatch it away from him.

"I'm glad you didn't." Theo's words were soft agains the pelting rain, but he was sure Oscar heard him as he squeezed his hand gently to convey his affection. What would have happened if Oscar had accompanied Ryann, Jez and Sophia? Where would he be now? No doubt standing in the pouring rain... alone. Thinking about Oscar... about kissing Oscar and holding Oscar and then denying he ever felt that need at all. Instead he was going to Oscar's cabin with said boy himself, hands interlinked and mirroring grins on their faces, having just shared several passionate, breath-taking kisses he wouldn't have in his wildest of dreams imagined. Theo was glad there was no one out to see them. This was their moment... and he'd hate to think someone would ruin it. "They're not going to come back soon, are they?" Theo found himself asking, a little distracted, just as they entered the cabin. "Because I want you all to myself for a looooong time," he joked, then eagerly stepped through the door and into welcoming warmth.
Theo could swear the heat in the cabin went up a couple of notches after some long, steamy kisses, now they were both dry and warm. Oscar was also bare-chested, and Theo could tell the other boy worked out a lot. He'd said so the first time they'd met, Theo remembered with an unfading grin. His fingers ran down his smooth chest, silently admiring Oscar's physique. He was beautiful, and yet Theo didn't really want to say it out loud. It wasn't that he couldn't acknowledge he felt this way, but he was a bit embarrassed. Theo wasn't the most romantic person ever, but he wasn't exactly stony when it came to love. It was just because everything was so new - Oscar was so new. He didn't know what to do with himself but follow Oscar's lead and let his instinct take over. Oscar obviously didn't want to talk, and so Theo, in a rare moment of hesitance, chose not to voice his thoughts and let his body continue to enjoy Oscar's pressed against his own. "Don't ever let this stop," Theo thought a little drunkenly, as though high on Oscar's kisses. "I don't want this to stop, right?"
By the time Theo was sitting down he was flushed pink from their activities. He took a glad breather as he lay against Oscar's chest, feeling skin rub against skin and his nerves tingle as though Oscar had set them on fire... well, metaphorically, he had. Theo smiled, unseen to the other boy, then buried the back of his head into the crook of Oscar's neck. After a few moments he turned his body around to kiss the Gryffindor's smooth skin slowly, his nipping lips a gentle ghost against his pulsing neck. His changed position allowed Oscar to shift their arrangement though, and before Theo knew it he had been pushed over and Oscar was lying above him rather than behind him now, grinning down at his smaller, vulnerable, half-naked figure. Theo's back lay against the cold floor, Oscar's radiating body lying over his like a predator observing his prey. The Gryffindor looked over him cheekily for a moment, as though admiring his catch. Theo's smile spread into a similar grin and he laughed, but Oscar immediately shut him up by bringing their mouths together again, swooping for another passionate kiss.
Theo could sense the urgency and forcefulness and desire behind Oscar's kiss and returned it without any doubt or thought. His body was just reacting to Oscar, just acting on pure instinct and lust... Because Theo had never gone quite as far before, and he was drunk on the silly delight the entire situation bled to his head, intoxicating his calm, cool mind into a melted mush of... nothing, nothing but wanting to kiss Oscar until he they were both senseless. He'd never lain on the floor whilst someone kissed the living daylights out of him. He'd never let them plunder his mouth so passionately, or submitted himself with so little regard, or had noses brush tingling emotions down his back as they meshed as one. It was all novel and Theo was welcome to it. Oscar retreated before dipping down for another kiss, this time gently nipping at his bottom lip. Theo felt a ripple of enjoyment across his body, and as Oscar kissed him his hand automatically travelled to the back of the Gryffindor's exposed neck, running his fingers into his hair and playing with the long, soft strands subconsciously.
The two boys had been kissing for about ten minutes, ten rapid, intense minutes, before Theo felt Oscar's hand tickling his bare side, his smooth fingers trailing invisible marks along his skin. It both excited and unnerved Theo, a turn of doubt in his stomach, and he paused in the kiss, only for Oscar's tongue to remind him of his mouth's actions. Theo returned the kiss again fervently, but not without his mind clearing some of the blinding fog. It wasn't long before Theo broke off the kiss, panting heavily, and immediately raised a finger to Oscar's lips, ready to pounce onto his again, stopping the Gryffindor's confused face in midair. "S-Stop," Theo breathed heavily, pushing the words out of his mouth and at the same time sitting up a bit, his other hand going to Oscar's chest and carefully pushing him back too. "I..." he began, looking earnestly though a bit disorientated at Oscar, who was sitting over him, his legs spread over his own and staring at him in confusion, searching for an explanation. "I'm sorry," Theo finally managed to say miserably. "I want this, I promise you, don't get me wrong..." He looked away, not able to stare Oscar in the eye. He felt embarrassed, nervous, wary... Not of Oscar, but...
"I just think it's all a bit fast. I'd just rather take things slowly. It was OK at first, but when it gets past that..." Theo shook his head a little shamefully. "I think I got scared, that's all. Just... scared. Nervous... I'm not used to it. I've never... done anything like this with anyone before. I've kissed people, but not in the same way, because you're different, Oscar, and I..." Theo trailed off again, frustrated he'd lost the ability to speak clearly, comprehensibly. He tried an edgy laugh. "You make me all tongue-tied, you know. You're probably the first and only person to make me do that. And I like it, but I want to tell it to you straight and I can't." Theo smiled apologetically as his hand dangled by Oscar's own, tenderly caressing his fingers. "I don't want you to think I don't want this," he began after a short pause. "Because I do. A lot. I want you and I want us and... I've never wanted anything so badly. But I don't really know how to go about it, and I trust you to lead me, but it was all so fast... One second we're not talking, the next we're doing this, and... It's amazing but it's confusing too. I don't want to do the wrong thing and mess this up, but I can't just not say anything."
Frowning a little, Theo continued, "And I... I suppose it's always going to be on my mind and it won't go until I've asked you properly, but..." He blushed even redder at this point, which was very un-Theo like. "Will you be my boyfriend? I mean, I don't know, I've never been in a relationship before, if this, this thing, if it meant we were officially together, and it worried me. I don't want to do this because, well... I know you're not using me or anything like that, I'm just so nervous and..." Theo buried his head in his hands. "I have no idea what I'm doing for once in my life and it scares the hell out of me," he finally admitted in a quiet voice, closing his eyes.

Oscar paused as Theo commented on wanting him for a long time. He did so because a new feeling had overcome him- just for a second, and then it was gone. It was the knowledge of being wanted. Appreciated. Needed. Although he certainly was loved very much at home Oscar knew that this feeling was different. He didn’t think he could get any happier; but he realised he was wrong as the emotion stretched his lips into a soft, lingering smile. When it disappeared he mentally shook himself before continuing. “No, I don’t think so. Jez will end up doing something we’ll hear about around campus tomorrow, and Sophia and Ryann said they wouldn’t be back for hours.” He didn’t want to imagine Jez Cuthbert’s face if he walked in on the two… and so he didn’t, but stepped through the threshold into the cabin swiftly.
“Oh, god, Theo- that tickles!” Minutes later this comment erupted from Oscar as the two lay together and Theo’s fingers drew invisible lines up and down the Gryffindor’s chest. Being ticklish was something that had always been a weakness of Oscar’s; and now Theo would know about it. He didn’t have time to think about this before his sensitive skin was again alerted to the feeling of the other boy’s fingertips, softly trailing up his torso. How was it even possible that such a simple, small movement could cause such a reaction? This time, despite his wriggling at the ticklish sensation, he wasn’t just referring to the tickling. The movement of Theo’s fingers had also caused a silent rumble deep inside him, awakening some sort of beast. Oscar could tell that beast was hungry for something it really, really wanted… Theo. Dispelling even this notion took only a moment as Oscar was soon wrapped up in more kisses, more feelings and most importantly, Theo’s arms.
When Oscar moved down so Theo was beneath him the Ravenclaw responded swiftly and without hesitation. Oscar could do this forever… The passion and speed of their movement delighted and excited him so. He hadn’t thought it was possible that two people could be so in tune with each other when doing things like this… it was like… like a dance. A beautifully choreographed dance. And although certainly not the dancing type, Oscar couldn’t help but notice how well the two flowed with one another. Although Oscar took control Theo matched his movements faultlessly. It really was odd; only a few days ago Oscar was not only straight but on awful terms with Theo. And now they were lying with each-other topless, kissing as if each kiss was their last. He felt Theo respond to everything he did perfectly. The whole situation- kissing another male, that is- was completely knew to Oscar. He hadn’t even thought for a moment that he would have been able to adjust so easily to it all… but he had. And now even the notion of replacing the form beneath him with- shudder- a girl, no matter how beautiful, made him feel almost angry. It was not that he was no longer attracted to females or the female form. But what he had beneath him and inside him now was just so perfect he couldn’t imagine having the same thing with anyone else.
The time passed with the two in this manner and to Oscar it felt like seconds, though he knew it had been at least ten minutes. The old saying ‘time flies when you’re having fun’ jumped into his head and he spent a little second mentally grinning at it. This certainly was fun. But something had changed; something had been replaced. A little comfort with… uncertainty? What was it? The new intrusion of the feeling had come from beneath his body and from Theo. Had Oscar done something wrong? He froze this thought in his head- of course not. This was what they both wanted! How could it be wrong? He leant down for another kiss but didn’t reach the Ravenclaw’s lips. Instead, a finger blocked his way. Had Oscar been in a different situation he would have pondered that simple action. The way the finger stopped everything. It all halted for a moment; his kiss, the movement of his eyes, his travelling hand. His thumping heartbeats. Now, sure there was an error on his part, he drew back, struggling to keep the bewilderment from his eyes.
Stop. The first word came from Theo and Oscar took a second to tune into the syllable. But… but he didn’t want to stop. He was having so much fun. Any thought to react was dispelled from his mind as Theo’s hand came up, softly coaxing Oscar back. Away from Theo. Obediently, much like a reprimanded dog would have done, Oscar drew back completely from the Ravenclaw. Soon they weren’t touching as the Gryffindor sat opposite Theo. He was completely silent as he waited for justification. It came slowly, hesitantly, and Oscar’s heart ached as he listened. "God… no, Theo. I’m sorry. I didn’t realise. Well maybe I did but you- you’re- we…” He gave a half-hearted, sheepish grin before noticing Theo’s lack of eye-contact. Almost fiercely he took Theo’s shoulder and looked into his blue eyes. “Never say sorry for something that’s not your fault.” His voice was insistent. He needed Theo to feel comfortable with him… he’d just found this boy, this feeling. The thought of losing it so quickly made him crazy. He hesitated in speaking again and let go of the other boy’s shoulder gently as he continued. Theo was scared? Oscar made him scared? Fire rose up through his head as, inwardly, his anger was directed at himself. How could he do that! In wanting so badly to hold on to this new-found love with Theo he’d almost destroyed it. Furious with himself, Oscar didn’t reply to Theo for a moment. He didn’t trust himself.
Instead he continued to listen and feel the tone in Theo’s voice. It was so delicate. It sounded almost vulnerable. His intent expression changed swiftly at Theo’s next words. “Tongue-tied? Oh Theo… you make me bloody tongue-tied.” He resisted the urge to make a joke about tongues as he laughed. It was a sad laugh, as if at something lost ironically. But the words coming from Theo astounded him. That he, averagely-academic Gryffindor Oscar Flynn, could make someone feel the way Theo appeared to be feeling now. It was so… new. Completely and utterly. He continued speaking after Theo’s words. “I don’t want you to not say anything. I don’t want you do feel as though you’re doing the wrong thing; everything you do is right, Theo! Can’t you understand that? But one meaningless wrong thing could never mess this up anyway. It’s too damn good. Plus, it’ll take a whole lot than a few mistakes and words more to chase me away.” Oscar attempted a reassuring smile to follow his reassuring tone, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. Sure, he could hold on to Theo if anything happened. But could Theo hold on to him?
Theo’s next comment told him that at least he would try. It was so innocently spoken, and the blush which crept up the Ravenclaw’s neck was positively adorable. Now, Oscar’s smile really did reach his eyes. With one finger along the bottom of Theo’s chin he leant forward slowly. “Nothing could make me happier.” He replied before planting a light peck on Theo’s lips. It didn’t linger long and soon he was back in his original position, facing Theo again. His smile soon vanished. Theo’s last words lingered in the silent air and again, Oscar felt an ache in his chest. More than anything he wanted to take Theo in his arms now- not to kiss him like before, but just to hold him close. Despite this, he didn’t. His before anger at himself hadn’t faded and he didn’t want to cause further doubt in Theo’s mind.
His words came quietly at first but soon they grew more assured. “Theo… hardly anyone knows what they’re doing in life, or with their life. The fact that this is your first time for such a thing is amazing. But you… you shouldn’t be scared. I don’t want you to be scared...” This is new for me, too! Oscar wanted to add this but stopped himself at the last second, his lips parted slightly. Yes it was so new to him also. But thinking about the new change would awaken scared feelings and confusion even in the bold Gryffindor, and that didn’t even bear thinking about. If he didn’t think about it then it couldn’t affect him- right? “The point is,” He hesitated. “-I’m here. Seriously. There’s nothing you can do to budge me now. I’m staying put. We’ll go through whatever confusion and question this all causes later, and when we do we’ll go through it together. You aren’t alone in this.” He finished, worrying that he sounded like the cheesy American soaps his mother like to watch. Whatever; Oscar didn’t care about that. He knew what he said was from inside him, and that was all that matters.
A glance at the darkening sky outside reminded Oscar that perhaps, should any of his cabin mates wander in a little early, they should at least be ready to throw their clothes on. Snatching his wand up from nearby Oscar turned to Theo’s pile of wet clothes and his own jumper and shirt. He didn’t rise from where he sat opposite Theo, merely twisted around until he was facing the pile. Then he hesitated for just a moment as he sought the right incantation before muttering it gently and throwing a careless wand-flick in the direction of the clothes. After a pause of nothing at all, a slow gust of hot air blew from the tip of his wand. He directed this over the clothes and soon they were relatively dry- although not perfectly so. Charms wasn’t Oscar’s best subject and that was the best he could do. With a grimace at the musty wet-clothes scent that now reached his nostrils, he turned back to Theo.

"Ooo, Oscar's ticklish," Theo teased with a widespread grin blooming on his face. He watched the look on Oscar's expression before leaning forwards and capturing the Gryffindor's lips in a short, sweet kiss. It wasn't long before Theo was sprawled on the floor under Oscar, their lips fused together again and his hands running through half-dry, long brown hair. In the back of Theo's mind he remembered his previous concerns - that Oscar hated him for who he was, that he and Oscar would never speak again. It was as though that was a hundred years ago; all swept away in a heartbeat. Theo's own heartbeat matched Oscar's as he felt the warm skin of the other boy press against his own, chest to chest, heart to heart. It was a fast, thudding rate, and it excited Theo, drove him wild with the thrill and the feel of Oscar pressing down on him. Theo liked it, submitting to the Gryffindor completely and utterly. He didn't mind not being in control. There was no control left with Oscar.
But Theo knew it had to stop at some point and so he did stop it. He felt stupid for halting their activities; what if he'd ruined everything? The moment and all? But Theo never believed in keeping quiet and so he'd had to say something. Otherwise he wouldn't be Theo Darke. When Oscar demanded he not apologise, a small, wry smile broke over Theo's features. "People seem to be telling me that lately." Scott, Dylan... was Theo really that much of an apolgetic person? "And the same goes for you. It's not your fault either, Oscar, so don't apologise." Theo said it menaingfully, pleading for Oscar to believe him. He hadn't stopped their kissing because of Oscar; he just thought it was all going a bit too fast for his liking. He quirked another smile when Oscar said he also made him tongue-tied, but didn't say anything. The simple words made his heart warm though. "It's not your fault, Oscar," Theo tried explaining again. "It's because I've never been in a relationship before. I'm not talking about this being messed up. I'm not scared about messing it up. I'm just worried about... Oh, I don't know what I'm worrying about. I think I'm just being stupid." Theo shook his head. Oscar's expression was somewhat distraught, and that made Theo's own heart clench in pain. "Please don't look at me like that."
Theo's heart fluttered happily, a little waif in the wind of his insides at the Gryffindor's words, and he pressed his lips against Oscar's, resisting a shudder at the brush of the other boy's fingertips along his jaw. But it was over as quickly as it started, with Oscar pulling away. Theo regretted not drawing him back again, but he knew he wasn't done talking. He needed to sort this out. He believed in talking about feelings properly, unlike other boys. Oscar seemed to catch his jist and did a small speech about staying put, which Theo smiled at. "I was never worried about you leaving me or something," he confirmed a little more cheekily. "Not after you kissed me like that." He let a hand find Oscar's and curl around his fingers, squeezing supportively and apologetically. "I know you don't want me to apologise, but I still want to do it. Because I'm not as brave as you Gryffindors and I like to take things slowly. I'm sorry for you having to put up with that." Theo blushed a little but controlled it expertly this time, only a hint of pink surfacing across his cheeks.
Oscar stood up next and Theo watched him on confusion. The other boy tried to perform a spell on their forgotten clothes, and it both made Theo amused and sad. He found it funny that Oscar was obviously not very good at Charms. Theo would have to help him with that. But he was also a little sad; did Oscar want rid of him? Theo glanced out of the window and noted the dark falling. He wondered what time it was; when would Ryann and Sophia return? Theo didn't want to be caught half-naked with Oscar. But at the same time he didn't want to go... he didn't want to leave Oscar. Theo was sure when he did he would feel a gaping hole in his heart. "Here, let me help you with that," Theo said softly as he picked himself up and approached Oscar. He found his wand in a pile of damp clothing and expertly performed the drying charm. In moments Theo had them hanging on one of the bunk beds, literally dry. "They'll be ready for wear soon," Theo informed Oscar, putting his wand down and looking up at the other boy. "But..." He took a breath. Theo wanted something and he would say he wanted it. "I really, really don't want to put them on any time soon."
Theo's hand reached up to the back of Oscar's neck and pulled the taller boy down so his lips crushed against his in a soft but heated kiss. Theo took it slower this time, and it was a lazy and loving kiss. When he drew back just a centimetre, he whispered again, "How much time do we have? Because I want this, Oscar, I really, really do. Believe me. If we go a bit more slowly, I think I couldn't stop all night." He chuckled against Oscar's mouth. "And I swear it's not your fault, so stop looking so gloomy." Theo's former perky personality had returned, along with his confidence. He knew Oscar wanted this, he wanted this, and as long as they were on the same wavelength then they should be OK. Theo looked up at Oscar fondly, his eyes lovingly tracing his face. His fingers caressed the Gryffindor's cheek, drawing him close again. "You're mine now, Oscar Flynn," Theo whispered, and closed that tiny gap again to kiss Oscar, slow and steady. This time it was Theo that drew Oscar to the bed, not Oscar pushing him to the floor. They collapsed onto the bottom bunk with little grace, and it drew a laugh out of Theo's mouth, before he shut it again against Oscar's. The two boys lay there in the growing dark, arms around each other and kissing gently, but still passionately. Theo's fingers danced playfully along Oscar's bare waist as his lips went to lick at his neck, sucking softly on his skin. "I don't think you're getting rid of me either," Theo uttered through his gentle kisses.

It’s not your fault either. Inwardly, Oscar smiled at Theo’s reassuring comment. Of course it was his fault. He couldn’t imagine Theo doing much wrong in the way of what they had been doing; he was so… Theo. But Oscar knew people made mistakes and when he did do something wrong accepted the blame without trouble. He never defended himself when he knew that he was in the wrong. He also couldn’t understand why people did so- if they didn’t want to be accused why commit the thing they were blamed for? It irritated him when people didn’t learn from their mistakes, too. But of course if Oscar was ever accused of doing something wrong that he hadn’t actually been a part of that was another matter altogether. Than could awaken his temper quicker than almost anything.
Listening to the words that next came out of Theo’s mouth, Oscar leaned forward slightly. “I’ve never been in a relationship with this much feeling… it’s amazing. And it’s not just because we’re both, err, male. There’s something else.” He smiled reassuringly again, this time with more strength. For he knew his words were true. There was something else between the two that made the new ‘relationship’ oddly sacred. If Theo had thought that Oscar didn’t realise that because of the passion and urgency to kiss earlier, then there clearly was a mistake. For Oscar knew that what they had was different. His urgency for physical contact with Theo was just… the way that Oscar knew to show his feeling? He didn’t know. “And you only being stupid by thinking you’re being stupid.” Oscar chuckled. “What you feel and how we act now… it decides everything, I guess.” He frowned lightly. “It doesn’t matter how stupid we might feel reacting to something. If it’s what you want to do and how you want to take things then just do it, or take it there.” He wasn’t sure if his words made sense. The whole situation, with awkward words and hesitant sentences, reminded him of their first meeting.
Moments later the feeling of Theo’s hand gently squeezing his fingers and clutched them tightly with more pressure, although gently as he did so. Theo’s words reassured him slightly; he was so, so glad that he recognised what he couldn’t put into words and had to put into his kisses. But here- here was that clichéd theory of the Gryffindor always being braver than the other Hogwarts houses. With a wry smile Oscar looked up at Theo at the comment, their fingers still touching lightly. He wanted, more than anything, to again tell Theo not to apologise. But he knew that the apology had been as much for Oscar as it was for Theo himself and so held the slight indignation he felt back without a word. “I’ll take this anyway you want it, Theo. I’m in no hurry.” He smiled lightly. “You make it sound like you’re a burden; for a Ravenclaw you’re getting quite a few wrong ideas.” He teased gently. “I don’t care if we have to stand five metres away from each-other for a month before anything else.” Oscar pushed down the thought that told him this was partly a lie as he continued. “As long as we are together I’ll be happy. I-” He broke off, lips apart. What was he going to say…? A wall in his mind had been thrown up suddenly. “-really like you and love spending time with you. That won’t change.” He finished lamely. Hopefully Theo would be a little reassured.
Oscar trick on the clothes must have been an appalling piece of magic; for Theo obviously found the need to dry the clothes again. Oh well; Oscar knew he was awful at Charms. Nothing he could do. But he did turn to Theo with his brows raised, a half-smile twitching in the corners of his mouth. “Thanks, show-off.” He teased again. He stood beside Theo and twitched his hip softly, so his side nudged Theo’s playfully. Oscar had an urge to do some more magic; sure, he wasn’t great a Charms. But in Transfiguration he excelled and knew it. Oscar and Transfiguration went together hand in hand. He wished that he could have the chance to show this off, although didn’t know why. He was never normally much of a show-off apart from the competitive Quidditch comments and reactions to opponents.
His smile faded, only to be replaced with a softer and more subtle expression of happiness when Theo made his next comment about putting the clothes on. “Me neither.” He murmured, barely audible. Soon his words were taken from him as his lips were caught by Theo’s, just as gently as the Ravenclaw’s touch on his hand minutes before. Oscar didn’t take control or put much of his own pressure into the embrace, but let Theo lead. He enjoyed the feeling of being led despite the rarity of such an occasion. He really didn’t want to upset Theo again- before it had been because he had led the kisses and taken it too far, not because of Theo. He was determined not to ruin the moment again. After a few moments Theo drew back and Oscar’s head reluctantly parted a few millimetres too to answer the question. “Uhh…” Not much of an answer. But Oscar reached over slightly, still in Theo’s embrace, and snatched up his wand again. A little flick and a murmured incantation soon followed. He looked at Theo with a cheeky smile. “Little trick I picked up from Jez. Any intruders will be able to get in, but will find it harder to open the door for some reason- like misplacing their keys for a minute. We’ll be able to know they’re there earlier…” No doubt Jez hadn’t expected to have the charm used against him. This little spell had been one that Oscar had needed to use many times in the past and so it worked well with him, unlike the drying charm.
Returning his gaze from the door to Theo’s face he was taken in again by the boy’s lips. Theo’s whisper made Oscar’s heart want to burst from his chest and the heartbeats it had been steadily giving out for the last seventeen years quickened. Oscar wouldn’t have been surprised if Theo had noticed; the two were so close. He didn’t reply but to respond just as softly to Theo’s kiss. And then- then he laughed along with the Ravenclaw, playful again, as they stumbled to the comfort of the bed. He wanted this so much. Not like earlier; he had wanted that but this was different. This was them together, as one in people and not just in their kisses. In an almost girl-like movement Oscar arched his back slightly beneath Theo as the smaller boy went to the Gryffindor’s neck. This was followed by something the very opposite of girl-like but that Oscar was unable to resist. It was as though Theo knew every little spot on Oscar that could make him react so. Instead of looking embarrassed at a the inevitable reaction to Theo’s passion Oscar ignored it and softly wrapped his arms around Theo’s shoulders. He didn’t care how little time he knew they had left. This was the beginning- the beginning of something that he should have accepted from the start. Although ignorant to his emotion before, Oscar now embraced the situation just as he embraced the boy beside him. This was right. This was Oscar. This was love and passion so unlike anything he'd ever known before.

Theo smiled wryly. “I’ve never been in a real relationship before, end of. I’m completely inexperienced and that’s why I was scared. I’m not scared of you, Oscar. I’m just scared of this thing, it’s so new. But I’m getting used to it. I just needed a bit of time. I know I like it. I know I think it’s amazing too.” He flicked a teasing smile onto his lips, which grew as Oscar assured he wasn’t stupid. “Well, I know I’m not stupid stupid,” he said with some modesty. “But I feel stupid when it comes to relationships. It’s something I have no idea about.” Theo gave a small nod at Oscar’s next words. “Yeah. I’m just going to act on instinct and let my body do the talking.” He bit down a laugh and gave an amused smile instead. Then he looked Oscar honestly in the eyes. “I will. I promise. And promise me you’ll do the same. I want you to be honest with me, Oscar. If you want to try to take it further, you don’t have to ask, and if I think it’s a problem I’ll say so. Just like now. There’s no need for politeness or anything like that.” Theo grinned wistfully. “I know, I can’t talk. But I don’t believe in holding anything back in relationships, even if I am clueless.”
Theo cast a humoured but cynical glance at his boyfriend, a smile curling at his lips. “Five metres apart for a month? Ouch.” His fingers trailed gently across Oscar’s larger palm. “I don’t think I could do that,” he murmured quietly, meeting Oscar’s eyes again and staring intently in them. He could see emotions glittering under the surface of his dark eyes, so different to Theo’s own glass blue ones. In appearance Theo and Oscar were so different; Theo had bright blonde hair cut short, and Oscar chocolate-brown long locks, and their physiques differed too, with Oscar much taller than Theo, and Theo’s build athletic but not as muscular as Oscar’s. It showed how opposite they were, but it gave no notion of how attracted to each other they were either. Right now, Theo wanted to kiss Oscar again so much, but he quelled the desire as Oscar continued to speak. He could’ve laughed at the awkward, embarrassed expression on his boyfriend’s face as he trailed off with words he’d obviously plucked out of his head and couldn’t find better ones to replace them with. Theo sent Oscar a soft, appreciative smile, and concluded their first discussion with “Me too.”
Theo smirked playfully as he stood beside Oscar, eyeing the almost dried clothes, and laughed when Oscar nudged him and called him a show-off. “It’s not my fault you’re not a Charms whiz like me,” he teased. One of Theo’s best subjects was Charms, after all. He wasn’t as skilled at Transfiguration or Defence Against the Dark Arts, but Charms came extremely easy to him. “It’s my best subject, actually,” Theo decided to inform Oscar softly, smiling. “So don’t think you’re no good. I’m sure you better me in loads of other things.” He smiled warmly and turned to his quiet boyfriend, eyeing his taller figure in wonderment and, in all honesty, infatuation. It wasn’t so obvious with Theo, but he was genuinely infatuated with Oscar – well, as much as Theo could be infatuated with anybody. He looked at the Gryffindor with a certain sparkle in his eyes, as though he was gazing upon the most special being in the whole world. Theo heard his conscience give a small sigh of hopelessness. “Too late. You’ve totally fallen for this guy, Theo.”
Theo buried his head in the crook of Oscar’s neck as the other boy seemed to do something over his shoulder. He breathed in deeply and savoured Oscar’s scent, fast becoming familiar to him. He chuckled when Oscar explained what he had done with the door, and instead of congratulating him on his brilliance, turned Oscar’s head again so they met in another gentle kiss. Their chests, warm skin sliding against warm skin, became red and hot again as their heartbeats merged as one, even though to Theo’s knowledge he wasn’t kissing Oscar with any more passion or desire than before. It was so much slower and languid, but just, if not more, loving.
Lying atop of Oscar on the bed, Theo leaned back to observe his boyfriend for a sneak moment, smiling widely at his sprawled figure, completely vulnerable beneath him. Then he bent down again, pressing his body closer to Oscar’s in both an effort to preserve their burning warmth and to feel their skin brush against each other once more and ignite electric nerves. Theo’s lips pressed to Oscar’s quick-beating pulse, smiling against it as he realised with dizzying happiness that he was doing this – it was all his doing. He felt Oscar’s hand feather his naked side and resisted a laugh, before moving his mouth down and letting his tongue trail at Oscar’s collar bone. He stopped though at Oscar’s sudden action, and then a big smile spread across Theo’s lips. “Someone’s sensitive,” he murmured in a husky voice teasingly, a lazy smile on his lips as he leaned back up to capture Oscar’s again in a more heated kiss. His boyfriend’s arms snaked around his smaller body, and Theo pressed closer and closer, wanting to draw Oscar into doing it again. That was, until Theo was alerted to the fact that there was someone trying to enter the cabin.
“Damn!” Theo tried not to swear – not his style – as he literally leapt off Oscar, almost regretful but his fear of being discovered driving him to grab his clothes and throw them over his head, stripping of Oscar’s sweatpants and flinging them onto the bed as he slid his own dry jeans on. Just before the door was opened, Theo switched on the light to see Oscar standing in the middle of the cabin, dressed but messily, his hair at odd angles. Theo stifled a laugh and moved to him to sort it out as quickly as he could, in the process leaning up and kissing him passionately, as though to say, There will be another time, I promise. And then the door was flung open and Theo stepped away, looking at the intruder. “Hi Jez,” he smiled genially, greeting the older Gryffindor. “I was just saying hi to Oscar. See you both later, yeah?” Theo kept smiling until he reached the door, where Oscar came to see him off. “I’ll see you later, OK?” he whispered softly, reaching his hand up to caress Oscar’s cheek for but a moment. “I’ve got to get back.” Stepping backwards, Theo turned around and made his way back through the forest. He was reluctant to leave Oscar behind, but a smile adorned his lips as he knew it wouldn’t be long till he had those lips on his again. He was almost annoyed with Jez, but knew they couldn’t have had forever. “Next time will be different,” he vowed with a smile, and entered his cabin.

Oscar was reassured when Theo spoke and his own lips crept into a smile as a teasing smirk came across Theo’s. He resisted the urge to kiss the lips as they formed the smile, but couldn’t resist his glance at them. Theo’s words were so honest and Oscar’s heart thumped as he listened. He adored this… this comfort. Knowing that Theo felt comfortable enough to speak from his heart like this; a rare thing for most Ravenclaws, as most he knew ignored their heart to follow their head and the logic it gave them. Oscar didn’t reply to Theo just yet. He didn’t feel like the words needed an answer as his opinion was so clear, and what he wanted even more so. But Theo’s words about acting on instinct and letting his body take over brought a chuckle from the Gryffindor that he was unable to suppress. Hmm. He liked the sound of that, he thought, eyes twinkling. To his boyfriend’s next words he did give an answer. His tone was quiet and soft, but the strength that was ever-present with Oscar was still there. “I will always be honest.” He promised. The seriousness of the topic Theo spoke of reached his mind and he nodded, understanding. It seemed fair; although Oscar had never felt for a man before and was inexperienced in that sense; it was obvious that he had a little more trouble keeping his wants and lust to himself. The assurance that Theo didn’t mind this as long as Oscar stopped if he willed it strengthened the blanket of comfort around the two. Hearing Theo speak of no need for being polite, Oscar grinned. He didn’t think he knew anyone more polite than the Ravenclaw before him. It made him feel something strange- was it pride?- to think that he could bring about such a comment from Theo. Oscar’s silence was so strange now. He was normally such a chatterbox, as Theo had once pointed out. But just being with his new boyfriend now brought him such pleasure. And the memory, the lingering feel of their kiss in the rain, was still in his mind. That alone made him a little lost for words every time he thought about it.
“Nor could I.” Oscar whispered. His eyes looked back into Theo’s, captivated. The touch of Theo’s fingertips on his palm made Oscar bite his lip gently, a corner of it disappearing for a moment. He was oblivious to how sexy this small reaction could be; he only felt the tickling sensation on his palm. Merlin, how he wished he wasn’t so ticklish! He could only imagine how Theo could use this for his own entertainment in the future. Hopefully he could find out a weakness of Theo’s to counteract with… All thoughts of this were cast from his mind as he fell into the depths of Theo’s eyes. Oscar was never one to avoid eye-contact. Whenever his mother scolded him in the past he knew it always unnerved her a little to see her son looking back at her with unblinking eyes. It was normally she who looked away first; but Theo was different. He stared straight back into Oscar’s eyes with an intensity which caused strange sensations in Oscar’s stomach, which he guessed were what some described as ‘butterflies’. Poor little butterflies, trapped in my belly… The random thought swam into his mind and he giggled inwardly at it. But the feeling didn’t feel to be made up of butterflies really; it was a bigger, bolder sensation. Like massive bubbles rising through him and exploding in bursts of new-found happiness. The result, he smiled, from being with Theo. After Oscar’s muddled and messy words it took him a moment to dispel his face of a slight blush; he hadn’t blushed much since the two had been together, while had noticed that Theo’s features coloured regularly.
There was so much he didn’t know about Theo. His favourite subject was Charms… a small nugget of information, but Oscar took it in and filed it away safely. Everything about this boy was precious now. The Gryffindor was tempted to make a comment about his skill in Transfiguration but held himself back. It was his competitive side that wanted to say it; even now, after everything, he still wanted to win at something. Sometimes, he thought with an inward grimace, there were downsides to being a typical Gryffindor. Although the competitive streak certainly helped him in his Quidditch. But why was Oscar thinking about Quidditch?! Theo was now looking at him again, but this time there was something new in his eyes. It twinkled and sparkled in a way that caused the ‘butterflies’ in Oscar to stir wildly. It took moments to cast the charm on the door and soon Theo had captured his lips gently. The softness of the movement made Oscar a little wary for a moment; his aggressive kissing was so different to this. Didn’t Theo like the way he kissed? Stop being so bloody paranoid. Oscar listened to his head obediently and let Theo lead for a moment. Just because the kissing was gentler did not mean it meant something different. And Oscar was certainly starting to enjoy it… yes, there was something about the soft kissing that brought a reaction in his heart that was certainly no different from his quick, harsher kisses of before. The feeling of Theo’s lips on his own was not the only thing that roused feeling from Oscar. The naked skin of Theo’s chest on his own made him tingle delightfully and he pressed closer, although still trying to maintain the soft manner of their kissing.
And then they were upon the bed, their naked chests pressed together even more. But this time- this time Theo was leading. Oscar was aware of every movement from the Ravenclaw, and when the boy drew back to study Oscar he couldn’t help but grin. He loved that feeling; Theo appreciated him, his boyfriend. The Gryffindor felt an urge to hold onto Theo hard and never let go. He really, really didn’t want to forget that feeling. Ever. But it was forgotten as Theo lowered himself onto Oscar again and the breath caught in Oscar’s throat, hitched high and captured by some unknown force. Then his throat was being licked ever so lightly by Theo’s tongue and Oscar arched his back instantly, stretching his neck out happily. Theo noticed his reaction instantly. Oscar refused to blush for a moment, but was unable to hold it down as the Ravenclaw teased him gently. “Just wait till I find your sensitive spot.” He whispered suggestively. He couldn’t wait for that moment himself.
But obviously he would have to wait to find out where he could lick, nibble or kiss Theo to affect him the most. For there was a sound from outside the door. For a moment Oscar ignored it and put a hand on the back of Theo’s head for one last kiss, this time controlled by him, this time with a touch more force. And then they were up. Oscar leapt from the bed and dressed with a speed he hardly knew he possessed. With every movement his smile drooped a little more. Unlike his boyfriend, Oscar had kept his jeans on during their antics, but the belt had somehow loosened a little. Curiously he fixed it. And then the two had just a moment before the intruder outside the door came inside. Oscar was about to bring his hands to his hair and fix what he knew would look like a birds nest made by a blind bird, but he found that Theo’s hands were already there. He threw the Ravenclaw a grateful, sheepish grin before meeting him for another kiss mid-air. Why did his roommate have to come in just then? Oscar forced down a feeling of rising anger and busied himself by trying to look innocent, and not at all like he had just been embracing Theo Darke, on a bed, in a way that could only mean he wasn’t as straight as everyone knew him to be.
Jez entered only seconds later, a slightly confused expression on his face as, no doubt, he wondered why he had been unable to enter the cabin straight away. Oscar smiled and greeted him before following Theo to the door. Oh god… his boyfriend’s fingertips grazed his cheek softly and Oscar didn’t bother to keep a tiny groan hidden. “You will definitely see me later.” He smiled, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. He wanted to kiss Theo goodbye. The whole situation was messy, and although Oscar knew they had to keep their relationship a secret for now, he wished with all of his heart (and other body parts) it wasn’t so. Theo’s figure disappeared in the shadows and, reluctantly, Oscar stepped back from the threshold of the cabin door and shut it, perhaps a little more forcefully than he had planned. He spun around and was met by Jez’s curious expression and raised eyebrows. For a moment he was at loss for what to do. But then he slipped into habit and raised one eyebrow at Jez. “And where have you been tonight?” Oscar teased. He turned the conversation to the other Gryffindor swiftly. He could avoid Jez’s questions- for now.
Hours later, lying on his back in bed, Oscar couldn’t keep his boyfriend from his mind. His fingers traced his collar bone gently as he recalled Theo’s tongue lightly skirting the skin there. It was as though the feel of the tongue still lingered there, and Oscar yearned to feel it again. Soon. He had to comfort himself in thinking. Soon. With a small smile he turned onto his side and before long his eye lids dropped as he fell asleep.
