“Jasmine - What are you thinking?” Brantley asked looking into Jasmine’s dreamy state-like face. Snapping out of her thoughts, Jasmine shook her head glancing back down into her open book. “Nothing,” she replied, reaching a hand forward to take the feathered quill from the ink pot. Feeling Brantley’s soft hands across hers, she looked up into his crystal colored blue eyes. “There has to be something on your mind. You have that look in your eyes.” Jasmine’s eyebrow rose slightly at the comment. Was it really that obvious to decipher her that easily? Though, it was Brantley; the most observant boy in the whole universe, and perfect. It still puzzled Jasmine at how she ended up with someone so wonderful. There wasn’t anyone out there like Brantley. He understood Jasmine’s complicated mind. He dealt with her emotional mood swings. Most importantly, he loved her more than any other man out there. A small lightened Jasmine’s face at the many wonderful aspects of Brantley. “And what is this so called like you can detect?” Jasmine asked after a few moments of silence which hovered over the couple. Her hazel eyes searched his face, her eyebrows still raised in thought. Brantley just let out a little chuckle as he rested his cheek into the palm of his hand. “Because I know you enough to plan your next mood, Jasmine. Mind if I asked what you have up your sleeve?” Jasmine blinked back her confusion as he continued to stare into Brantley’s face. He was right. Brantley could plan her next emotion better than she could. It was quite a useful tool. Jasmine was completely unpredictable with her emotions, but she was always relatively calm and reserved. She was Head Girl after all. So she always had to set out a good role for the younger students.
“I was only thinking…” she began shyly, taking the quill from its spot in the ink holder. “And?” he finished not one hint of impatience ringing in his voice. Jasmine shrugged as she let her fingers slide through the supple, crème feathers. “What would you think of me as a match-maker?” she casually asked stopping her hands as she looked back into Brantley’s face. His eyebrow rose this time, a small smirk forming on his pink lips followed by a low chuckle. There were another few moments of silence as the two just stared at each other. “I’m serious,” she reinforced, scrunching up her face sincerely. “Oh…well…I don’t know, Jasmine. You can’t make people fall in love with each other.” Jasmine nodded at this statement as she set the quill back into the ink bin. “I know, honey, but I just want to know what you think about it.” Brantley tilted his head as he pondered about the idea. Was Jasmine really not all the good at love? Alright, she wasn’t, but she wanted to these two specific people a chance. One was a complete wreck, while the other couldn’t find someone. Even though Jasmine ran away from love, she returned to it and had finally conquered her fear. Brantley helped with that. “Well I guess-” Brantley began but stopped as he fixed his gaze on Jasmine. “You aren’t honestly going to falling through with getting Jamison and Celia together…were you?” Jasmine smiled innocently, biting down on her lip, giving a small but slow nod. Brantley just shook his head, running his fingers through his long hair. “What? You can’t see that connection between them? I thought you were the expert on love?” Jasmine teased as she began to collect her things that were scattered along the table top. “Well…I’m not…just don’t get your hopes up too high.” Shaking her head, Jasmine zipped the end of her bag shut as she stood from chair. “You never know until you try. I have to head to the Prefect Lounge for a while, I’ll see you later.” Leaning across the stable, Jasmine kissed him subtly on the lips before turning on her heals out of the library.
It didn’t take long to reach the Prefect Lounge. The only trouble was actually getting inside. The password was literally changed almost every other day, more than the common room. Setting her bag down on the ground, Jasmine sat down on the sofa searching through the various wizarding magazines that were displayed on the countertop in front of her. There wasn’t anything too interesting. She should really be thinking about the upcoming Quidditch match against Slytherin. Jasmine was nervous about the game. She was always anxious about anything that dealt with the sport. Though, she was afraid of what most people would say about her team. They were…different. Not most people accepted the recently appointed co-captain, Adrian, or even their beater Reaegyn for their sexual orientation. Sighing, Jasmine cleared the thoughts from her mind as she heard the door of the lounge open followed by foot steps. Looking up over the couch, Jasmine smiled warmly as she saw Jamison’s tall figure standing only a few feet from her. “Hey, Jamison!” she greeted with a grin noticing Celia enter her next. Aw. Perfect. Right on time. “Hey, Celia.” Nodding, Jasmine motioned toward the chairs around the room before settling herself comfortably into the couch. “Thanks for coming guys. We really need to figure out a way our night shifts, and organizing it between Quidditch practices.” Nodding, Jasmine glanced from Jamison to Celia before standing up to look on the board where various prefect names were written across with specific days they were assigned to do night patrol.

Jamison tossed the half-written letter to the floor. He had to give it up. Meyghan was gone for good and she wasn’t coming back. Jamison had to move, but he realized that it wasn’t that simple. Jamison and Meyghan had been together pretty much since fifth year. It was hard to go from seeing her every day, to not seeing her at all. Jamison had loved Meyghan. He really did. Now, he wasn’t sure if they would be together forever, but he didn’t care about forever quite yet. He just wanted to be with her as long as he could. But, his time ran out. Jamison knew that this was probably the best thing for Meyghan. He was sure that the whole family moving was a great thing for them all to go closer as a still pretty new family. But these thoughts really didn’t make him feel any better. Meyghan had become one of his best friends over the years. They spent a lot of time together when they could get the chance which seemed rare. But, at least they had tried. Now, there was no more trying. She was gone for what seemed like forever. And Jamison had to deal with that. He eyed the letter on the floor and shook his head. He then reached for his Transfigurations Book. Since Meyghan had left, Jamison kept his head in classes, Head Boy duties, Quidditch and nothing more. It all felt much easier that way. Jamison sighed and turned the page.
Wendi had been devastated when she heard the news. Wendi loved Meyghan and her family. Wendi and Cleve had practically become attached at the hip whenever she got the chance to see him which was only during vacations. Really, Wendi had always had a crush on the boy, but she kept it to herself. Ever since Carr, Wendi had been doing a lot of dating which made Jamison very uncomfortable. Still, he had to face the fact that Wendi wasn’t that adorable little baby any more. He sighed. Jamison would be much more comfortable if Wendi was with Cleve. Because, Jami trusted him, but that seemed like it would never be either. Jamison sighed. He had become so attached to not only Meyghan but her family. He knew this was because Jami’s parents died when Jamison was very young. He liked to hang out with Meyghan’s family. They made him feel like he had a family. But he didn’t. Now, Jamison knew that the Gallagher family was never his family and. It just wasn’t meant to be that way. Now, Jamison was beginning to think the same thing about Meyghan and himself. Yes, it was a hard thing to comprehend, but he had to face the facts, and move on with his life.
“Hey!” Jamison didn’t even have time to turn around before a familiar blonde figure jumped playfully on his back. Jamison instantly knew who it was. “You know as Head Boy, I could get you in trouble for that.” He joked. “Go ahead.” She laughed loudly. “I already have detention on Friday.” Jamison leaned back so she could hop off. He turned around and shook his head. “Wendi..” He said like he was her father. “What?” She said in her normal, careless manner. Wendi acted like a silly teenage girl most of the time which annoyed Jamison. He knew that she only did that to fit in. Wendi was very smart. But, she preferred to act stupid. This got on Jamison’s nerves, but she wouldn’t change it. She was too hard-headed. “What did you go?” He asked sternly. “I umm.” “Wendi.” “Fine.” She grumbled. “Lets just say that it involved Nose-Biting Teacups in the dungeon that leads to the Slytherin Common Room.” Jamison sighed. “How do you know ever where that common room is.” Wendi smiled and raised an eye-brow. “I flirted with a sixth year Slythie.” She laughed. Jamison sighed. “’Nough said.” Wendi laughed. Then, her face got very serious looking. “You know she misses you, right?” Wendi asked as she turned, getting ready to leave. “I’m not so sure.” Jamison said as he turned as well to head to the Prefect’s Lounge.
Jamison was thinking of what Wendi just said as he entered the Prefect’s Lounge. He didn’t even notice that Celia was walking right behind him. He smiled sheepishly when he saw her. Jamison had been quite awkward around girls lately, well except for the girls that were strictly his friends. Since Meyghan left, Jamison was technically single again which was weird for him. He hadn’t been without someone since fifth year. He just had to get used to it. Whenever Jamison saw Celia, he remembered that night with Kyra. Kyra had been so desperate. She needed so much help and Jamison felt so bad that he never really got to save her. Everything she loved was taken from her. He knew that she had finally found her mother and sister, but they had to leave the country. Jamison thought of that night. Celia and Jamison walked in to find Kyra was cut marks all over her arms. It had been the saddest thing that Jami had ever witnessed, but he was glad that Celia was right there with him through that night. There was no way he could have dealt with Kyra all on his own. “Hey.” Jamison said to Jasmine before taking a seat in a nearby chair. He smiled to Celia and then looked at the board. “I’m pretty flexible this year.” Really, only because Meyghan was gone, but he would never say that. Jamison needed something to take up his time and mind. “The only days that would be bad for me would be Mondays and Wednesdays. For studying purposes and little sister-watching purposes.” He laughed. “But, even those days are pretty flexible.” He nodded. He eyed the chart. Jamison didn’t mind working a bunch of nights. He needed to stay as busy as possible. Jamison looked to Celia to see what she had to say about her schedule.

It had been a long day, and one Celia could've done without. Since the Christmas holidays the focus of all her lessons had been on the exams and finishing the course on time. No less than half of her teachers had said something along the lines of "If you don't pay attention and learn everything from this lesson we won't finish the course and you'll fail your NEWTs." Well, Celia, being a Ravenclaw, always paid attention in lessons and wrote down anything that was said that was relevant, and hoped to get mostly Os in her exams in 18 months time. She enjoyed all her lessons, but she sometimes wondered whether she'd be better off if she'd not done so many! She was doing 6, which wasn't too bad, it was just all the extra curriculars she'd gotten herself into. She was a prefect (not that she'd had much choice about that), a Chaser on the Quidditch team (thanks to Jasmine) and a member of the BBBS committee, which had taken up a lot of time earlier in the year, and was taking up more time now that the second big meeting was being arranged.
She sat in the common room at a table near the fire-it was very cold, especially in the high towers at this time of year-thinking about how to translate a series of runes that she wasn't very familiar with. She'd managed to get through the majority of the passage, but the last few were a bit more tricky to translate. She looked up in her textbook what they meant and from that information wrote down the most plausible translation she could think of and packed the book away until the next lesson. She looked at the clock and realised what time it was-it was later than she thought. It turned out that she'd spent 2 hours on that one piece of work.
It was now time for her to go to the prefect lounge to meet Jasmine and Jamison. Jasmine had told them to meet her down there, but she didn't know why. She assumed it was some prefect business, but there was no guarantee. They were 2 of what Celia considered to be her best friends-she knew Jami better after the Kyra situation last year, plus he was also on the quidditch team and on the BBBS Committee. Jazz, she didn't know too well, she only really knew her from quidditch, but she'd been very encouraging and helpful when Celia first became a prefect. She wasn't going to be late-it could end up being rather important. She put her bag away and went down there as quickly as possible.
Near the prefect lounge, Celia saw Jami and caught up with him just as they reached their meeting place. Jami was a great guy-he'd been very supportive to Celia, expecially during the Kyra incident. It was odd to think that it was alomost a year since the whole thing had happened. That was really the first time Celia had really talked to Jami, and it was generally the first thing that she thought about when she thought of him. She was just glad that in the end Kyra had got through the terrible situation and had been reunited with her mother and sister. Since then she'd joined the quidditch team and BBBS with Jami, so she'd spent a lot of time with him recently. And now Meyghan had left school, Jami had more free time, some of which he'd spent with Celia.
She entered the prefect lounge and greeted Jasmine and Jami with friendly smiles and "Hey"s. She sat down by the notice board, and it soon came to light that it was just the night shift rota that needed to be sorted out. "Well, I have Astronomy lessons on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I can't do those nights, though I could do some patrolling beforehand. Lessons start at midnight, so Maybe I could do from about 10.30 or 11? I would like to have an early night on Wednesday at least, and Sunday hopefully, so not those days. I could do the latest shift on Saturdays though, that'd be the best day" Astronomy...Celia enjoyed it but the lat nights 3 times a week weren't very pleasent, especially on the days she had a 9am lesson the next day.
"So, um, is that all you wanted to see us for Jazz? It sounded rather important when you called us here earlier on. Have you seen the others about it? The 5th years have astronomy earlier on, as you probably know so they'd want early times I guess. And Eden...well, I don't know what times he'd want, you'd have to ask him yourself..." Despite being in the same house and year, she didn't know Eden as well as she knew the head boy and girl. As for the 5th years, she didn't know them too well either. She sat there, wondering what Jazz really wanted...although important, the patrolling times weren't that urgent, and if they were surely the other prefects would've been invited along too?

Jasmine rested her hands squarely on her hips as she angled her head to the side. Her hazel eyes stared into the large, white board that had all different styles of handwritings on it. She already had a four hour patrol the next day. Oh. That was going to be exciting. Jasmine still needed to finish working on her potion for Professor Snape. She had missed one day of class from being ill, and she was lucky enough to even get the chance to work on it. Sighing, Jasmine pushed school work to the back of her brain as she turned around to hear Jamison speak. So he was pretty much free anytime. That made it a lot easier. Celia was next to speak, but she was still taking astronomy which mean midnight lessons. Shivering at the memories of being up in the Astronomy tower, Jasmine bit her lip as she glanced over the board. Jamison was flexible with anything, but she still needed to find a good time for Celia. “Well I’m hoping that our next practice will be next week Wednesday before dinner,” Jasmine began crossing her arms across her chest still staring intently into the board. There weren’t that many spots that needed to be filled, it was just mainly next week spots that she was worried about. “I think we should keep it how it is now, but I’m going to go ahead and sign you guys up for next week.” Nodding, Jasmine took out her wand and with a simple movement of her wrist the board flipped over on the other side that read the second week of February. Prefects could go ahead and pick teams weeks in advance for their night patrol. It was a rather simple procedure really. Which was why Jasmine loved being a prefect so much, and she had grown ever since her fifth year. AT first she couldn’t give out any detentions, now she didn’t think twice about docking points.
“How about….Tuesday for you Celia? You can patrol a couple hours before you lesson, and Jamison can finish it up?” Jasmine asked looking over her shoulder at the two sitting on the couch. They really did look cute together. Suppressing a guilty smile, Jasmine went ahead and flicked her wand putting both Jamison and Celia’s names on the slot. “Just don’t pick Wednesday for a night to patrol. I’m already covering on Thursday.” Nodding, Jasmine stepped back watching as the two looked over the board. “Now that’s settled,” she began flicking her wand again so the board was back on the current week. “I don’t think there is anything else to go over really. If there was, we would need all the Ravenclaw prefects.” Nodding, Jasmine thought back toward the number of points Ravenclaw had. They were still in the lead. That was good. “Were still in the lead with house points. I want Ravenclaw to win again this year. So we need to make sure no one is late to class, or tries to act up. But I don’t think anybody will.” That was quite true. Most of the Ravenclaws were quite sensible students. They did their work, turned it on time, and never missed a class unless they were deathly sick. There were a few exceptions, but that was very rare.
Smiling to herself, Jasmine took a seat down on one of the arm chairs, tucking her legs under her left side. “I’m actually quite nervous for the upcoming Quidditch match.” She finally admitted, a guilty smile crossing her lips. “Kennedy has been putting in a lot of practices lately and the team has been making a lot of improvements.” Sighing, Jasmine ran her fingers through her hair trying to remember the last practice. Her team was going down the right tacks, but they still weren’t at the point where they didn’t need to stop worrying. But why would you? There were always things that needed to be fixed. “How are you guys feeling about? Do you think we need to add more practices, or keep it the same?" This was something Jasmine had talked constantly over with Adrian, but the co-captain felt the same why Jasmine did. Nervous.

((I'm in such a Celia-ish mood, I can't NOT post her! Though I was gonna wait for Jami, but I suppose it doesn't really matter...))
Celia watched as Jasmine looked at the whiteboard with the patrol slots on it pensively. She expected it had something to do with the fact that Celia wasn't particularly free for many night shifts, so it was hard to fit her in anywhere. Before she wrote any names down on the board, she mentioned the next quidditch practice. "Okay, Next Wedneday's good for me, In expect. I'll probably have quite a bit of work, but it won't be enough to keep me away from a quidditch practice!" She said with a grin. She'd only recently decided to join the team, but was already almost as passionate about it as the team members that had been on the team for years. Her only regret was that she hadn't joined the team sooner! She hadn't played in any games yet, but she enjoyed the feeling she got when she was flying around at high speeds, wind blowing through her hair. She'd mastered 1-handed flying, necessary for those times she had the quaffle, and she'd also done a fair bit of practice at shooting too. It wasn't long until the next game, but it would be the highlight of the year, no doubt about it.
Her wandering mind was brought back back into the prefect lounge from the quidditch pitch as Jazz continued talking about prefect duties. "Yeah, just leave what's there as it is and add us in wherever possible. Aslong as my slots don't clash with Astronomy lessons, I'm not too bothered. I could do a slot before one of my lessons, seeing as I'll be up anyway and trying to keep awake-I'll need something to keep me busy!" Usually she kept herself awake before an astronomy with books and coffee. She didn't often work at that late hour as her concentration wasn't at it's best, but she could easily get into an easy-to-read book, sometimes not noticing the time as she was reading, sometimes looking at the clock realising she was going to be late to Astronomy if she didn't hurry up.
She watched as Jazz marked her in for Tuesday, before her lesson, and Jami for just after her. He didn't take astronomy any longer, so he had free evenings. That was why so many students dropped it after OWL-they wanted the free time to work, or sleep more, or, in the case of quite a few people, socialise with other friends. "Yeah, Tuesday should be fine with me. We don't get homework for Tuesday very often-usually just Tuesday for Thursday then Thursday for Monday. So it's really the best lesson to be patrolling before. Thanks Jazz." She wondered why Jazz had mentioned not to patrol on Wednesday...was it because she'd mentioned an early night, or because of something else? She asked Jazz this, wondering what she'd say. More than likely it was just Celia being dense and missing something obvious. But whatever.
With that, all the prefect stuff was finished, and the talk turned to house points. "Yeah, we're really ahead this year, I'll be very surprised if we don't win. It's close with the other 3 houses though, it should be interesting how that ends up. But I don't think Ravenclaws tend to skip class or break other rules very much. But we'll have to make sure the younger ones behave though still. They're generally very good, it shouldn't be too much of a problem..." Ravenclaws were generally the most intelligent students, and hence tended to care more about their studies than other houses did, though obviously they had students that cared a lot too, and some more than others. Celia was very proud to be a Ravenclaw, and she'd been very pleased when she was sorted into that house. In truth, she could've been sorted into any, and the sorting hat had a hard time deciding.
The talk torned back to quidditch again, not surprisingly. Other than being prefects and in the same house, that was the main thing that connected the three of them nowadays, and it was often the subject of conversation. "Yeah, I think everyone's nervous. But I'm sure we'll do well. You're doing a brilliant job as captain y'know Jazz, we all have great faith in you. And you're a great seeker too, I'm sure you'll win the game for us in the end. And I know that myself and the other chasers will do our very best to score goals for the team, though I don't want what happened to Hufflepuff to happen to us this time. The Slytherins are tough. I think we're practicing enough, but you'll have to ask the other team members. I think we're doing well enough as it is though..." The team had been improving gradually over the past few weeks, and they were now at a position where they had a good chance of winning. But that still didn't calm Celia's, or Jazz's by the looks if it, nerves, and the game was creeping up on them, but she was confident, albeit nervous, that they would do well, and hopefully win.

Jamison smiled to Celia as she walked in and then he looked to Jazz. Odd. Why had Jazz only asked Jamison and Celia for this little meeting? There was still the other sixth year prefect and the fifth years to consider. Jamison sighed. There were some things about girls that he would never understand, but he sure was learning. Wendi made darn sure of that. Jamison nodded as Jasmine said that they would week this week the same. He still didn’t understand why this meeting was taking place so early for patrolling that was still a whiles away. But, it was probably good to get this out of the way considering that everyone had busy schedules. Jamison’s nights were pretty flexible. Unlike Celia, he wasn’t taking Astronomy. He did enjoy the subject during his OWL years and even in beginner classes, but he didn’t wish take continue it during his NEWTS years. Jamison had several morning classes, but even more afternoon classes. His Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts classes took up a great deal of time. They were the subjects that he was focusing more on. But, he could handle the coursework quite nicely. Jamison was just like the other Parsons, determined and smart.
Jamison nodded. He didn’t mind late shifts. He actually liked them. This was probably because Jamison was didn’t need much sleep to begin with. He really only needed a few hours of sleep to keep him up all day. Plus, he wasn’t afraid to patrol at night as some of the younger prefects were. Jamison even had to encourage a few of them from time to time to pick up night shifts. Jamison smiled at Jasmine brought up Quidditch. Jamison had always loved the sport. Actually, Jamison and Meyghan joined the team at the same time. That was hard to think about, but he was glad that he joined even if thinking of the team made him think of her. “Yea, I can defiantly make it.” He smiled. “You can bet that I won’t miss a single practice. After all, this is our last year of Quidditch.” He nodded to Jasmine. Boy would Jamison miss Quidditch. It wasn’t as if he would continue it professionally so the last few games of the year would be his last. Jamison enjoyed being of the team and he liked being Beater. He sighed. Well, he would just have to let Quidditch go. Jamison knew that he had to continue growing up now matter what.
Jamison smiled to Celia. She was so enthusiastic about Quidditch which was good to see. Jamison was the same way as were most of the teammates. The Ravenclaw team defiantly was a team to beat, but Jasmine was right. The Slytherins were looking better and better with each practice. Jamison nodded as the conversation switched back to Prefect duties. “I can take most night shifts, really. Most of my classes are in the afternoon and some in the mornings. I don’t have any night classes this year.” Which was a good thing. Yes, Jamison wasn’t tired at night, but he was never good at concentrating at night. Nope, he was much for awake in the afternoon. Jamison nodded as they talked about house-points. “I dunno. Hufflepuff is always eager to win the cup. They might step it up. Apparently, Wendi is trying to keep the younger students in there place when it comes to points and such. I don’t know why or how she is doing that, but at least she is figuring out some way to stay out of trouble herself.” He chuckled. Wendi was getting more rebellious as the years went on. It troubled Jamison to think that Wendi was like Keith, but it ways, she was.
Jamison nodded as Celia tried to encourage Jasmine. “Yea, I think we can defiantly win the match. We’re prepared enough and with one or more practices we should be good to go really.” He nodded. Jamison thought about how Hufflepuff had been doing so great at the match, but Scott caught the snitch and Gryffindor won. Jamison hoped that wouldn’t happen to Ravenclaw. They worked too hard for that to happen. Jamison had faith in Jasmine and her Seeker abilities, but Valmer was a good Seeker as well so it was really anyones game. “I think Ravenclaw will do good this year. I’m just hoping the team can keep in up with us gone next year.” He sighed and looked to Celia. He knew that she and the other teammates could handle it. Jamison knew Celia to be kind and determined. Jamison had faith in her leading the team the next year even if she wasn’t captain, but Jamison still thought that she would be given the title. Jamison eyed the board once more before looking to Jasmine. It was a short meeting but perhaps there was something else Jasmine had to say. Jamison wasn’t sure, but then again. He was never good at understand the female mind.
