Alexandra screamed as her toe slammed into the wooden leg of her four post bed. Curse words that she normally would refrain from speaking fell from her lips in a neat line and filled the room with angry tension. The pain seared through her foot and her toe began to throb. Gritting her teeth and taking hold of her wounded foot, Alexandra bit back the next line of angry words. With as much effort as she could muster, she silenced the cursing and blinked back the tears. It was not the pain that caused her the tears to well up in her nearly black, brown eyes. It was the oncoming stress that was slowly taking over every sense she owned. Her classes, her homework, the fact that she hadn't seen her fiance in almost two weeks, and how upset she was in general suddenly became too much and she was now at the boiling point.
She was overloaded, overworked, and under-loved. It was enough to make anyone cry. With a large sigh, Alexandra let go of her foot and let herself fall onto her bed. The Slytherin green blankets were so warm that she instantly felt relaxed. Her body was so tired, yet her mind was restless and it continued to fret about her stress. Her want for a nap was overwhelming, but the reality was she could not sleep. Her mind simply refused. With another great sigh, Alexandra lifted her exhausted and stressed body from the bed and, regrettably, took hold of her robes. It was a tad chilly in the corridors thanks to the blankets of snow that covered every outdoor surface. Her school uniform was simply not enough to keep her warm.
Throwing her robe over her shoulders, Alexandra walked from the dormitory and entered the Common Room. Without even a glance around the Common Room, Alexandra left the dungeon and into the corridor. Her mind was on a secret path that only her body could follow, but not understand. She was in a daze and felt as if another presence were leading her to her unknown destination.
Rounding a corner a bit too fast, her body felt pain once again. The force of slamming into another body was enough to make her wish to cry again. Alexandra felt the air leave her lungs in a grunt as she fell to the ground. Anger and overwhelming despair at how her day was going took over her feelings and she simply lay there, her arms spread out and her eyes looking up at the ceiling. Her expression was that of giving up. She was too stressed and too exhausted to move. She didn't even want to look at the person who she had ran into. Her eyes stared up at the ceiling, her body too weak to move.

Kennedy cursed under his breath as Professor Snape handed him their latest essay. Normally, Professor Snape was known to be a bit more lenient with those in his house. It wasn't so much that he favored the Slytherins but that he was more annoyed by the other houses more. Everyone knew that Snape was just overall a cold person, not one to smile and give a kind word of criticism when students needed to improve. The bright red writing on the top of his essay was enough to let him know that Snape was not happy with his work lately. It was bad enough that he had him meet him in his dungeon to talk about the recent decline. Kennedy had his excuses though, but he saved them from Snape. There was no way that explaining his whole love life with Fiona and Cass would do any good. Sure, he had recently gotten back with Fiona, but that only meant that Kennedy spent more time with her and less time on work. Snape wouldn't care about such reasons though. "Yes sir," Kennedy answered in a bored but respectful voice when Snape dismissed him with the demand that he put more effort so that he wouldn't embarrass Slytherin. Kennedy didn't know that being prefect meant Snape would be so demanding of perfection when it came to school. Of course, it was obvious Kennedy could easily be doing better. At least Potions was one of the few classes that he was doing worse in. In most others he had been doing the same.
With a dejected look on his face, Kennedy hurried from the dungeons and toward his first class of the day- Care of Magical Creatures. Now there was one class he didn't have to worry about. However, the professor, Hagrid, wasn't much of a difficult professor as he was just crazy. On the bright side, Kennedy enjoyed most of the creatures that they got to work with, even if it was dangerous. Magical creatures were one of his favourite interests. Just about to leave the castle and walk down to Hagrid's hut, Kennedy realized that in his rush to meet Snape on time he had forgotten his text book. Another slew of curses escaped his mouth as he quickly turned and dashed back into the castle, rushing toward the dungeons. In his hurry, Kennedy turned the nearest corner only to smash right into another person who ended up falling to the floor as they were smaller than he was. Taken back a bit, Kennedy gathered himself and then looked down at the ground. It was a girl, and she wasn't moving. He stepped to the side to get a look at her face. "Alexandra?" he questioned, seeing the girl who was not just a classmate, a house-mate, and a teammate, but she was also the fiance of the guy who had been out to get him ever since the whole Chosen issue had been uncovered. Of all the people he could run into, Alexandra was one that he had know for a variety of reasons yet had still only had a few conversations with her that were quite significant at the same time. The last time that they properly talked though, he had convinced her to help him unlock Pyro's secrets and she was a bit upset with Kennedy to say the least. "Sorry bout that," he offered genuinely, leaning down to make sure she was even breathing. She looked terrible, almost like she wanted to die if she hadn't already. "Can I help you up?" he questioned warily. He wasn't sure if she was even alright, and if she was, he wondered if she would accept his help. Nonetheless, Kennedy offered his hand to help her to her feet if she would take it.

((Sorry it took me so long to reply. A tad busy with Christmas and what not. Plus my post is extremely short. I don't have much inspiration at the moment))
Alexandra felt as if she would cry. Why Kennedy? Of all the people to embarrass herself in front of. She sighed as he said her name, questioning the fact that it was really her. She shut her eyes, disbelief growing within her. He apologized, and Alexandra opened her eyes. She looked into his face, her eyes unshielded for the first time in months. Her heart seemed to live in her eyes as she stared up at him, trying not to cry from the stress and depression that welled up inside her. Panic seized her. She hadn't let anyone see her that clearly in a long time. She looked away and sighed, blinking back the tears and retreating once again into her shell of coldness.
He asked if he could help her up and, unable to speak, she simply nodded. Closing her eyes to force back the tears. Holding her hand up, she waited for him to grab her hand and pull her up. Her body felt exhausted and she knew she wouldn't be able to stand alone.

Though his intuition would have told him otherwise, Alexandra had agreed to let Kennedy help her to her feet. As she held out a hand, he grabbed it (with a sense of awkward irony) and helped her to stand. He wasn't intimidated of Alexandra or afraid of her or anything like that. Kennedy was simply cautious of her because of her ties to Pyro. Kennedy had been doing quite well in avoiding Pyro lately, and for good reasons. In fact, Kennedy had done his best to avoid both Alexandra and Cass as well, but obviously it would be impossible to avoid all three of them entirely. It was just now that things had been mended with Fiona, Kennedy was scared to death of losing everything that had somehow managed to come back to him. All of the pieces were finally back together, and he feared that one wrong move with any of the people who were part of the incident in the past would send he and Fiona into another downward spiral of despair. Surely though that was just himself being over cautious and analyzing everything too much, right?
At least so far Alexandra hadn't went off on him. She hadn't yelled or even made any comments that were outwardly nasty or vengeful. That didn't mean that Kennedy was going to be all friendly with her though. He was curious however to know if she would even talk to him at all. If she would, he knew he could at least figure out what Pyro was up to. It seemed odd to Kennedy that Pyro hadn't tried to approach him yet. Perhaps Kennedy could hope for the best in that Pyro had set the past behind him as well. That didn't seem to be the obvious answer though. Likely, Pyro had a plan; a plan that would somehow involve his revenge on Kennedy. He didn't let that bother him though; at least not in a way that he couldn't sleep at night. Sure, Kennedy always wondered what Pyro was thinking or what Pyro had planned, but only time could tell. Sharing a room with him was rather difficult, but Kennedy had managed so far.
He was about to walk away, leaving Alexandra to fend for herself at that point. She seemed rather flustered, and Kennedy really didn't want to get into anything that would make him leave in a worse mood than what he was already in. Yet, at that moment, his curiosity got the best of him and he blurted out the question that he so suddenly felt an urge to know the answer to. "What's Pyro doing these days?" At their last Quidditch practice, Pyro had even failed to show up. Alexandra was there, though Kennedy shared little to no words with her aside from the necessary instruction he was to give as the captain of the team. Kennedy hadn't even heard Pyro speak a word since the whole mishap with the Chosen and Fiona. In fact, there were only two times that Kennedy had even made eye contact with Pyro in the last few months. Now that was quite an accomplishment, seeing that they shared a room! "I mean, is he over the whole 'Chosen thing'? Fiona hasn't really told me anything more about it, though I guess I shouldn't expect her to since she is no longer part of it and she is likely as out of the loop as I am." Kennedy laughed as he suddenly realized how stupid it was of him to even bring it all up. "Of course, you're not in the Chosen either. And, if I remember correctly, it was a surprise when you had found out about them as well. I wasn't the only one with a significant other who was keeping secrets now was I? Then again, we all have our secrets." Kennedy was mumbling, quite frankly hoping that Alexandra might at least give him the slightest hint to whether or not this was something Pyro was even bothering to worry about these days. After all, knowing Pyro, he may have moved on to bigger and better things when he did realize that Kennedy was only interested in one thing and one thing only: Fiona. Kennedy could care less about the damned group that called themselves the Chosen. Then again, Fiona had made it known how much she wanted that book. The book was cursed though; literally and figuratively. Kennedy would do anything for Fiona; anything but go after that stupid books. It's what broke them apart in the first place, and he wasn't about to let it happen again. "I was just wondering though," he added, making it so that he sounded as nonchalant as possible. At this point, he didn't know where Alexandra stood. She had helped him in the past, but also had made it known that she would never do it again.
