“No way.” Jamison shook his head eyeing the blonde headed girl in front of him. “Please Jame.” She begged. “Wendi. C’mon last summer you stayed with Carr and you didn’t come home last Christmas. Gram and Gramps miss you. Come home just for Christmas.” Wendi sighed. It seemed she had already made up her mind of course. Little sisters. “C’mon Jame. I can spend the holiday in Turkey with Aunt Belle and Jonathan!” She exclaimed. Jamison sighed and offered a small smile. It did sound like fun. “You know you have to talk to Gram. She makes the final decisions when it comes to you.” Jamison was supposed to take over custody of Wendi when he came of age, but it was more difficult that that. They were both tied to their grand-parents and Wendi was the only remaining link to them. Both Jamison and Wendi knew that if Jamison took care of Wendi, their grand-parents would travel the world. This was something that neither of them was ready for. After all, both teens had been raised by their grand-parents. It was hard to let go of something you’ve known for your whole life. It just was.
“I’ll talk to her.” Wendi said before shaking her blonde hair about a bit, and then walking away. Jamison noticed the stares Wendi got from some fifth year boys as she walked away. It was weird really. Jamison still thought of Wendi as the first year who wouldn’t shut up. She had changed, that was for sure, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. Jamison had just hoped that it would be later. Was he ready for his sister to be like this? Hell no, but he had to get over it. Jamison walked the opposite way as Wendi down the corridor. He couldn’t think about her any longer. Wendi had to make her own decisions and she would. She knew exactly what she wanted and she knew how to get it.
After spending some time doing Prefect’s Duties, Jamison finally had enough and made his way to the Prefect’s Lounge. Well, there was only so much point deducting that could be done a day. Jamison only deducted points when it was necessary. He liked being a role-model to some students, but he still did his job. After all being a Prefect was good to prepare for work after graduation. Or at least that was what the teachers kept telling him. After took a deep breath. In between Prefects Duties and coursework, Jamison barely had a life. He hardly had time to see Meyghan, but he knew that she was busy as well. Both of them would have to work hard their 7th year to do what they wanted to do after graduation and that meant hardly any time to spend with each other. Jamison missed her, yes, but he knew that he had to get used to being busy. His life would be that way for awhile.
Jamison walked into the Prefect Lounge and fell instantly on a couch. Well, it had been a long day. At least he didn’t have any homework which was a rare treat. The teachers loved to pound the seventh years with it. Jamison sat up after a moment. Prefects from different houses were scattered about the room but he didn’t feel like talking to any of them for once. It was nice to get a minute of quiet, even if it was only for a minute. Jamison finally got bored and picked up a copy of The Daily Profit that was lying on the table next to the couch. He could hear a few fifth years talking in the corner about a stink bomb some Slytherin set off in the Great Hall, but he didn’t pay attention or at least he would ask about it later. Jamison continued to read the paper until her heard voices near him.
