Diagon Alley, was infact Blake's get away for the day. Forget listening to her brother gripe about all the trouble she caused, and the fact that her mother was still mad at her for ditching the luncheon with her aunt the other day so there was still that small awkward silence, and so Diagon Alley had highly appealed to Blake when she had awoken this morning to an empty house saying her parents and brother had gone out for breakfast and had decided she could just sleep. Having had this royally ticking her off she replied on an old scrap piece::
Gotcher messages. Going out. Be home late. Dont wait up. Your LOVELY daughter blake~
She knew this would probably make her mom mad, but that was pretty much the intention. Her mom didn't know where she was going or when she would be back. She just knew she had to wait up. An unspoken/written necessity to the sentence or phrase 'don't wait up'. In frantic hurry so that she wouldn't be here when they got back Blake had showered and illegally used her wand to do her hair, knowing it would go undetected seeing as she lived in a witch and wizard house hold. She had hastily slipped on a pair of jean shorts and a purple tanktop and then when her feet were secure in purple flip flops she had set off down her hallway heading for the fire place to cases of stairs below. She had just muttered diagon alley when her parents had walked in. How lucky she had been.
Making sure her money was still tucked in her pocket from the night before where she had put it so that she wouldn't forget it in case she did go somewhere she headed down the road to the small Ice Cream Shop. She smiled politely at the counter, "One medium dish of Sweet Cream with gummy bears!" she said she loved ice cream and every thing else in the world that no dieter could touch without cheating. She smiled. The man handed it to her and she replaced materials whereareas she gave him her money. She walked down the street a bit and ended up on a seemingly abandond bench, spooning ice cream into her mouth, grinning inwardly at every bite. Boy did ice cream know how to cheer a person up.

Today was the day. She was finally going to get her kitten. In truth, the kitten belonged to her cat, Nena. She was the mother after all. She had nine kittens about three weeks ago, and eight of them were now scattered around different loving wizarding homes in England. There was only one left and that was the only one Ezzie wanted to keep in the first place. The brown and white kitten was deaf, and that was the reason it was the only one left. They were all adorable little creatures, and at first glance, the deaf kitten looked like all the others. However, this kitten was left in the corner of the store all by itself. There was a large sign covering the cage that read “Hearing Disabilities”. The ugly sign completely covered the entire cage making entirely impossible for anyone to see the adorable little darling inside. Ezzie hated the unfairness of it, but grew to love the kitten’s living conditions when Ethan told her he would buy the kitten for her as an early birthday gift. Ezzie’s birthday was September tenth and even though it was only August, it made sense to buy it now, before someone else did. She had told her boyfriend Ethan about the kitten just the other day, and he promised he would buy it for her. He claimed it was a birthday gift, but she knew he really felt sorry for what had happened to her two weekends ago.
She had almost been kidnapped, and the anxiety of the adventure plus Ethan’s reaction to her behavior had set off random panic attacks in her body. Now, whenever she was stressed out about something, her chest tightened and her throat closed up making it extremely hard for her to breathe. She remembered something like that happening in Cuba when she was younger, it was the first sign of that random illness she had contracted. The doctors still didn’t know what had caused it or how to cure it, or even what it was called. All they knew was that it all started with “panic attacks”. After that, Ezzie started to go long periods of time not being able to breathe. She remembered the day her family had been sent to Spain for treatment. She took a plane there. The second the pilot announced landing, Ezzie stopped breathing. She struggled for about five minutes taking painful forced breaths every minute or so. When she arrived, she had to be put on a respirator. Ezzie tried not to worry about her condition as she walked upstairs to wake Ethan up.
Ever since the day of the kidnapping, Ezzie had come to live at the Jacobs house for her protection. The creep was still out there and he knew almost everything about her. She had to leave the shelter. She called for Ethan to wake up. He groaned a bit and eventually his eyes flickered open and he smiled.
“Today is the day.” He said weakly. She smiled back at him and he rose from his bed. She couldn’t help but notice his amazing build. Ezzie had gotten quite used to her boyfriend walking around the house in nothing but his boxers. It was very funny.
“You’re staring.” He said under tired eyes. Even though he was tired, his eyes sparkled with mischief.
“I just couldn’t help myself!” She said with a casual shrug. “Now get dressed. We’ll grab breakfast when we get there.” She threw a pair of jeans at him and walked out of the room, knowing full well Ethan’s eyes were following her behind out the door.
Half an hour later, Ethan and Ezzie were walking out of the pet store with a little box in their hands. The box had many holes in it, one of which the little kitten was trying to shove his paw out of. Ezzie laughed as she gripped the box in her right arm. She held Ethan’s hand with her left hand.
“So what should we name him?” She asked Ethan, who was now in a plain black t-shirt, jeans, and white sneakers. She was wearing the female equivalent of his outfit. She had large hoop earrings and her hair tied back in a messy bun with a black camisole, tight jeans, and stylish white sneakers. Most of what she was wearing were gifts from Ethan’s mother, who had taken her out shopping earlier that week.
“Ice cream.” Ethan said, making Ezzie giggle.
“You want to name it ice cream?” Ezzie teased.
“No, but I would like some.” Ezzie thought for a moment. She hadn’t had ice cream in quite a while.
“I think that’s a great idea! Let’s go!” And with that, she and Ethan were headed to the ice cream shop with their new kitten in their arms. Ezzie frowned as they approached the shop. There was a large sign on the front door that clearly stated “No Pets Allowed.”
“I’ll wait outside. You know what I want.” Ethan protested a bit, but smiled in the end and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He left, probably knowing her eyes were now following his backside into the shop. She sighed as she looked around for a place to sit. She found a small bench near the front of the shop and walked over. There was a girl sitting there already enjoying a delicious looking ice cream. Ezzie sat down next to the girl. She looked down at the ice cream in her hands and gave it a confused stare. There were gummy bears on top of her ice cream.
“Wow, I didn’t know you could put gummy bears with ice cream.” Ezzie stated to no one in particular. She was quite surprised when someone answered her.

Blake smiled to no one imparticular as she took another heaping spoon of sweet cream and gummybeared ice cream. This is what she always got, mainly because it's what she grew up on. Down the road in the square from where she lived sat a small ice cream shop called Cold Stone. It was by far the best she had ever had, muggle or no muggle, it was still delicous. So everywhere else she got the same thing as what she would get from Cold Stone. Glancing around her she saw a quite large bright sun, very few clouds in the sky, and loads of people with happy looks on their faces. Smiling politely at people as they walked by giving her questioning looks for her ice cream she just gave up on convincing the public and instead decided to just enjoy the ice cream while it lasted because soon it would all be gone and she didn't want to waste all of her money on ice cream, she had done it once before and had gotten in trouble for not being responsible.
As she glanced around she noticed two people heading into the Ice Cream Parlor. She watched as they discussed whether or not to get ice cream and a bit more of their conversation was uncaught. She recognized both of them from school, and both being older, and she was sure she had even ran into Ethan down in Hogsmeade once or twice before having a chat with him. She wasn't sure about the girl. She hadn't exactly met her yet, probably the girlfriend or something like that was Blake's thought because they had no resemblance to be called brother or sister, but then again all families didn't exactly have it either. Her family did though, oddly seeing as their personalities couldn't be any more different. While her brother loved Quiddittch and sports like that Blake had always preferred things no one liked to prove that they are more fun than they appear, plus she loved to read, write, and draw, something no one in her family had the patience for.
Blake had been off in her own world when she heard a voice behind her, that seemed to be directed to her. "Well actually I always get gummy bears and sweet cream ice cream. It's tradition actually!" Blake told her smiling, she wasn't about to just go into detail unless she was asked, but she figured that would be enough.

Ezzie glanced down at the kitten who was still trying to claw its way out of the cardboard box that was trapping it. Ezzie always thought this kitten had way too much energy for a cat. He acted more like a dog sometimes. He would always sniff around wherever he was. Ezzie figured since he couldn’t hear, his sense of smell was much better. He would also wag his tail a lot, just like a little puppy would. His meow did sound a bit like a bark, too. Then the name came to her. Puppy. It was the perfect name for a kitten like him. The silly little darling thought he was a dog, rather than a cat. Puppy was the perfect name for this kitten. She smiled as someone spoke to her. The girl was rather pretty, she thought. And she was in the year below hers. Ezzie tried to place her house. She seemed too nice for a Slytherin, she couldn’t be a Gryffindor, and so she must have been a Hufflepuff or a Ravenclaw. The girl spoke with a delighted smile on her face. She loved to see happy people. It just put a warm feeling in her heart to see someone having a good time with their lives. She smiled as she told Ezzie about always putting gummy bears on her ice cream, kind of like a tradition.
“I know what you mean. I don’t really have any ice cream traditions, or any other kind for that matter. Not unless you count going to Hogwarts every year. You go there too, right?” Ezzie didn’t wait for an answer. She always did talk a lot when she met new people.
“I’m a Gryffindor, just finished my third year. Muggle born, you know. I’m very proud of it. It was an amazing experience, my first year.” Ezzie thought back to the day she received her Hogwarts letter. It was a real shock to her, actually. At first she thought it was some kind of hoax, planned by some cruel teenagers. But then one of the Professors came. Ezzie still couldn’t remember which professor it was, but that didn’t matter. This professor told her and her mother all about magic and Hogwarts. Her father was away at the time. The professor started to do some magic, leaving Ezzie dumbfounded. She turned a tree into a giant pencil, and back again. Her mother agreed to take her to Hogwarts and such, and the professor left with a smile on her face. Soon after, her father returned, and he was not happy with what had happened. He pulled Ezzie’s mother away from her and whispered into her ear. She gasped and stared at her daughter like she was crazy. “My Baby!” She cried. Her father held her back, and soon after, there was no more love in her eyes. Now there was only hate. Soon after, her parents walked her over to the lake in the park and tried to drown her. She was only ten years old. She tried to break away from the evil memory, and instead she focused her attention on the girl she was talking to.
“I’m Ezzie, by the way. Ezzie Mendez. I’ve seen you around school before, but I can’t quite place your name.” She placed her finger inside one of the largest holes of the box and stroked the little kitten inside. The poor thing was no bigger than a dinner plate at the moment. She giggled a bit as the kitten licked her finger. Puppy was definitely the right name for him. She smiled down at the box and waited for the girl to reply.
