Ezzie walked through the London streets rather cautiously that Tuesday morning. It had only been a few days since that horrible man had attempted to kidnap her, and they still hadn't caught all three culprits. The police had eventually caught up with two out of the three, leaving the actual kidnapper somewhere in London, probably hiding. This thought didn't soothe Ezzie one bit. The two other men who had been captured confessed to following her around for weeks at a time, trying to figure out the best time and place to pounce. They knew all about the shelter, her job, even her frequent trips to the park, and Ethan's house. Ezzie had grudgingly agreed to stay with the Jacobs family in their home, at least until the last kidnapper was caught.
"You'll be safer here, Ezzie!"
"But he knows I come here too!" Ezzie had explained, she didn't want to cause the family too much trouble.
"Yes, but here you have us to protect you!" Ezzie seriously doubted this, for they were almost always at work, but didn't say anything. She finally agreed to stay in exchange for helping out around the house. She also insisted on cooking for the family, it was the least she could do.
It was on this Tuesday, however, that she had just about enough. She had been cooped up in the huge house for too long, she just needed to get out. She decided to go to Flourish and Blotts, where she still had that gift card to the book store. It was at least something to keep her mind busy, and she promised herself she would not be caught alone. Ethan was still sleeping, so she made breakfast for herself and Ethan, and placed his in the microwave, where he would get it later. She scribbled him a note and left it on his bedside table. The note read:
Ethan, gone to Flourish and Blotts, had to leave. I'll be careful, meet me there. I made you breakfast. It's in the microwave. Don't worry so much!
Love you,
Ezzie.
She walked off with her gift card in her pocket. She was looking over her shoulder constantly, in fear she would see that horrid white car again. Thankfully, she didn't, and she arrived in Diagon Alley safely. She entered the bookstore, said hello to Olivia, (the owner) and noticed a large stack of books placed carelessly in the wrong shelves. Working in a hotel half her life, Ezzie was quite the neat freak. She picked up the books and started stacking them in the correct shelves when a boy interrupted her stacking. He looked younger than her, but not by much.

Kain had been in Diagon Alley all day long. He knew where to find the stores, but the crowd made it a lot more difficult to make your way around. He had most of the things he needed for the following year of school, all he needed were the new books on the list. " Alright, Flourish and Blotts it is. " He said to himself.
He entered the store and glanced at the list. The first book was for Ancient Runes. Kain sighed. Ancient Runes was his least favorite subject, seeing the class as a nice way to get some sleep. He walked past the shelves and found the book fairly easily. " Okay, next, the Monster book of Monsters. " He again found the book quite fast and put it on top of the other in his hands. " Let's see, one more. The Standard Book of Spells Grade 3 by Miranda Goshawk. " He told himself.
He started looking around for the book, but he couldn't find it as easily as he did with the first two. He walked around the store and saw a girl, not much older than him, stacking some books. She probably worked at the store so he decided to ask her.
" Uhm, excuse me, could you help me find The Standard Book of Spells Grade 3? " Kain asked politely.

"Uhm, excuse me, could you help me find The Standard Book of Spells Grade 3? " The boy asked politely. Ezzie gave an embarrassed smile.
"Oh, I don't work here, cleaning and organizing is kind of a habbit of mine." Ezzie gave a little giggle, wondering what time it was, and if Ethan was awake yet. "But I could help you find that book. I used it last year, and I'm pretty sure they're in the same place. They never move those stupid schoolbooks. They're a bit of an eyesore, really." Ezzie walked over to the front left side of the room, where the boy's book was hidden.
"I'm Ezzie, by the way. Ezzie Mendez." She smiled as she pointed over to the schoolbooks. "So you're a third year? I'm going into fourth year, myself. Gryffindor." Ezzie smiled as she walked over to the display and handed him a book. "What house are you in?"

"Oh, I don't work here, cleaning and organizing is kind of a habbit of mine."
Kain chuckeled. He was the exact opposite. Everytime he looked at his trunk with the things he took to Hogwarts he already got embarrased, that's how messy it was. He shook off the thought and focused on the girl.
" Oh, sorry about that, it's just that, well, it looked like you worked here. " He shook his head and thought now was a good time to shut his mouth. He looked at where the girl headed and followed her. She pointed out the book. " Hey, thanks." Kain said and smiled.
I'm Ezzie, by the way. Ezzie Mendez." The girl said. "So you're a third year? I'm going into fourth year, myself. Gryffindor."
Kain smiled. " My name's Kain, Kain Damien." Kain told Ezzie and shook her hand. She asked what house he was in. " I'm in Ravenclaw, even though my parents always told me I belong in Hufflepuff". Kain told her.
He took the book from her hand and put it with the rest. " So, what's your favorite subject ? " Kain asked, glad he finally had someone to talk to, seeing his sister took off to hang out with her friends.

The boy smiled. "My name's Kain, Kain Damien." Kain told Ezzie and shook her hand. She asked what house he was in. " I'm in Ravenclaw, even though my parents always told me I belong in Hufflepuff". Kain told her.
"A Ravenclaw, huh? I always thought i should be a Ravenclaw, with all the books I read. It's crazy, really. But I guess, in the end, the sorting hat knows all." Ezzie smiled.
"Do you need help with anything else? I know this bookstore like the back of my hand, to tell you the truth."
He took the book from her hand and put it with the rest. " So, what's your favorite subject ? " Kain asked. He looked a lot like Ethan, only without the intense blue eyes and the permanenty temporary lip piercings. She wondered what he was doing right now. He's probably still asleep. Ezzie thought to herself. It was already half past eleven and Ethan was probably still knocked out in his dirt heap he calls a room. Ezzie blinked a few times, as to get her head back into the world of other people.
"Well, that's a tough one." Ezzie said, thinking for a moment. Astronomy was cool, whereas she was excelent in defence class. She thought transfiguration was interesting, although she wasn't very good.
"Defence." Ezzie said at last.
"How about you?"

"How about you?" Ezzie asked after she had replied with Defence.
" Same, although it's hard to choose between Defence and Flying lessons, which is by far my favorite passtime. " He said and smiled.
" Well I'm all done with my books. I'm here with my sister, but she took off to go be with her friends. So it's me, myself and I right now. But I could stay and talk if you'd like, I don't like being alone. " Kain explained to Ezzie.
" So what about Quidditch, you like it? " Kain asked curiously. It was by far his favorite thing in the world and hoped he could talk about it with someone.

((this is ezzie by the way..))
" Same, although it's hard to choose between Defence and Flying lessons, which is by far my favorite passtime. " He said and smiled. Ezzie felt differently. She was a fair flyer, but she hated the sensation. It made her feel extremely uncomfortable and scared that she was going to fall off. She was rathe good at playing keeper, for she didn't have to move around as much as the other players. Overall, Ezzie was more of an artistic or musical person. She wasn't very athletic. She left most of that to Ethan, who was an all around excellent flyer in all positions.
" Well I'm all done with my books. I'm here with my sister, but she took off to go be with her friends. So it's me, myself and I right now. But I could stay and talk if you'd like, I don't like being alone. " Kain explained to Ezzie. Ezzie wished she had a sister. She was traveling alone, and she didn't want to keep it that way. These days, being alone in a public or even private area scared her. She didn't want to be caught in the same situation she was in last weekend. She still had to take a special potion Ethan's mother gave her to help her sleep peacefully at night.
" So what about Quidditch, you like it? " Kain asked curiously.
"I guess I'm okay on a broom, but I hate the sensation of flying. I t makes me quite sick. I leave the flying for my boyfriend, Ethan. Watching the school games is fun though. I don't know much about out of school Quidditch." Ezzie shugged. "I like to stick to my trusty base. I'm much better at it, and I never have to worry about falling a hundred thousand feet." Ezzie sighed.
"I take it you're into Quidditch?"

Kain chuckeled. He never could get enough of flying, possibly as high and fast as possible. " Yeah, I really am. It's by far my favorite thing to do in the world. My dad doesn't approve though. He thinks flying is for school only. My mum likes it though, she hopes I make the team next year. But how could you not like the thrill, the adrenalin pumping through your veins, the excitement, the roar of the crowd as you are cheered on? " Kain asked not understanding how flying could not be great. " Well, I think it's the best. I feel more at home in the sky than on the ground, actually. " It was true. Kain was a great flyer, and loved to do it any time of the day.
" So, what is your favorite passtime then? " Kain asked her.
