Dull, dull, and more dull – the words Mary would use if questioned about her day. She had no worry of that, though – nobody had bothered to ask about her day in awhile. Probably because she had been in a fairly foul mood lately. Thankfully it was a Friday evening because Mary was in the mood for some fun. Classes somehow managed to be boring and fairly tough lately which lead to Mary going out of her head. She couldn’t space in class because if she did she wouldn’t understand it but if she set her mind to the task it was all just boring in the application.
Curfew was drawing nearer and the common room was filled up with people huddled by the fire, sharing tales of their weeks and their plans for the free time ahead. Mary drew away from the crowd into the recesses of the room and then finally gave up and stepped into the sixth year girl’s dorm. It was slightly cluttered, someone had left their things out after getting ready for a night out. Clothes were on beds, books were all over the floor, and shelves were hard to see beneath the mess. Mary would have to clean up her own stuff tomorrow, tonight she just couldn’t get her head into it.
Grabbing a purse and changing into some stiletto heels rather than her uniform shows Mary swept from the room and out the common room door. The halls were fairly quite, with only the murmur of voices coming from those who were late in coming back to the common room before curfew, which would come in about a quarter hour. Mary slowly made her way down the dark corridor and started to hear the steady drip drip of water leaking into the castle, because the dungeons were set under the lake sometimes they got water. In the flickering light of torches on the wall Mary saw a shadow flicker down a connecting hallway and paused to look. There seemed to be a girl over there… “Hello?” Mary called “You know you’re late, you need to get back to your common room before a prefect comes and finds you” Mary called to whoever it was, as they seemed to be young by the shape of them.
