Kody walked briskly, because he had just been assigned a project that he wanted to get started on right away. It was a project on some simple and a few complex charms, and how they could be used in varying situations. He also had to describe in the project how those charms could work incorrectly, and the consequences. The teacher, Professor Flitwick, had asked each student in his third year Charms class to experiment and, rather than just reading up on it in the library, actually try some of them out and get practical experience. Kody figured he would go to the library to see if check out the books on the more complex charms, because he definitely didn't want to get stuck in a bad spot, what with the things he had experienced already with complex charms.
His mind reverted back to the first time he met Bryce, and the transforming charm that had ended badly, soaking him with ink from the pot he had been trying to merge with an action figure. Fortunately, the older student had been gracious enough to help him clean up, and sat and talked with him for quite a while afterwards. Bryce was the reason Kody was currently considering joining the Gryffindor Quidditch team, but he still wasn't sure if he should, just because his ideal spot would be as Seeker, while Gryffindor already had a good seeker, as Bryce had began to make mention of when they had talked. He just wasn't sure if he'd even make the team, and that was holding him back from joining.
As he walked into the library, he noticed that it was partially deserted, with only a handful or two of students occupying the nearby tables and reading spots. He spotted where the Charms books were, and made his way over to the stacks. He glanced at a few of the tables as he walked, and slowed when he saw some other Charms books spread out on a vacant table. He wondered if the books were being used, otherwise he'd just pick one or two up and get started. Kody took a look at the chairs, and realized a bag was laying there. It looked like a girl's bag, but he couldn't be sure. Wonder who that is, he thought to himself. Looks like the books are being used. I'll just have to get my own. He continued on, looking nearby for more Charms books, but stuck near the table, still trying to figure out who was sitting there.

Ezzie rubbed her temples as she threw her wand angrily at the wall of her dorm. She just couldn’t get this stupid charm technique correct. Ezzie had never really had a problem with Charms, but somehow, it was just this one movement that Ezzie just couldn’t get right. She picked up her wand again and tried once more. The window opposite her four poster bed shattered, sending pieces of glass all over her dorm room floor. She sighed in frustration as she waved her wand to repair the damage. She had an exam on this very technique tomorrow, and if she didn’t get it right by then, she’d fail her very first Charms test. She glanced outside the window at the murky fall weather. It was windy and chilly, definitely not a place to practice her Charms, even if there were no windows outside. Ezzie would probably find some way to make a fool of herself out there, just like she had been lately. Just yesterday, Ezzie’s wand had fallen into her cauldron and Snape had to retrieve it for her. He humiliated her in front of the large class of both Gryffindors and Slytherins. He had retrieved her wand, but Ezzie definitely had to apy a price for it. She took a deep breath and tried again. No luck, as usual. Ezzie was never going to get anything done this way, so she grabbed her book bag and hoisted it over her shoulder. She had to do some reading up in the library if she was ever going to grasp this concept.
Ezzie walked through the halls with her wand in her hand and her bag over her shoulder. People just wouldn’t stop staring. Wouldn’t they ever get used to the fact a singer went to their school? They had to, right? Ezzie racked her brain, thinking back to the summer when she had met a certain Mack Holden, a singer/songwriter that was a Slytherin prefect at her school. They had gotten used to having her in their presence right? Why couldn’t they get used to Ezzie? She sighed as she ignored the stares and walked into the Hogwarts library. She walked to the middle of the vast room and immediately headed for the shelves and found a bunch of books, which she laid out on a table. She returned to the shelves to find more and found two last ones as she returned to the table where her baby blue bag and the many Charms books lay. She noticed a small boy around her age glance at them in curiosity. He was definitely in Gryffindor, she didn’t need his scarlet and orange robes to tell her that. But he was a year younger than her however, for he looked young, but not young enough to be a first or second year.
“Did you need some of these?” She said kindly, gesturing toward some of the books. “Because I’m not using all of them.”

Skyler hurried from the dungeons. His lesson with Snape was less than thrilling and he hoped to get out of there as soon as the class was over. Skyler was embarrassed that his potion had turned orange instead of green. It wasn't his fault. How much exactly is a 'dash'? The instructions should have been more clear. For a professor who is so strict about following instructions his instructions were probably as clear as the Shrinking Solution. Skyler smirked to himself at his own joke. The potion that he made was the same consistency as mud and the color was green-ish. At least there was a tint of green in there. It wasn't orange like a jack-o-lantern.
After wandering a bit he finally found his way back to the Ravenclaw common room. I would find my way, he thought, if the hallways would stand still. Skyler knew that the hallways didn't move but it was easier to blame his lack of direction to an inanimate object. Once back in his dormitory he washed up. He felt clammy and dirty from the dungeons and all he could think of was washing. Skyler then decided the best thing would be to start on that essay that Snape had assigned so he went off to the library. Well, at least he hoped.
Luckily today the hallways seemed to be in a good mood because they led him to where he wanted to go. As Skyler entered the library he noticed that it was mostly deserted. This both made Skyler happy and sad. Happy because it meant that he would be able to focus on his essay. Sad because who actually came to the library to write? Skyler could do that any old time. He wanted to socialise and his meeting with Alex encouraged him to meet more people. Wandering around he noticed a boy who was in Skyler's potions class. Skyler thought he was a third year Gryffindor but he could be wrong. He was just older. So was everyone.
Just then a girl approached the boy. Another Gryffidor judging by the colors. Is everyone in that house?! Skyler looked at the girl. He tried to inconspicuously approach their table. He thought he recognised her. She asked something of the third year Griffin. And then it hit him. That voice! He couldn't help himself: "Are you Esmeralda Mendez?"

Kody glanced over to the table one last time, and saw a girl approaching the bag he had been eying. He walked over to her and the table, with all the books on it. She asked if he needed some of them. "Yeah, I was going to get some more from another section, but these were a few of my ideals. Thanks. You're in my class, aren't you? Are you working on that Charm project Flitwick gave us? Or am I completely way off?" he chuckled.
He took a look at a few of the books, made a pile of about three large ones he figured he could use, and began putting them in his bag. All of a sudden, a young boy he faintly recognized popped up next to the two of them, and asked the girl if she was Esmeralda Mendez. He looked over at her, knowing the name, but not much other than that. She didn't answer right away, so he prodded her. "Are you? And," he looked at the boy, "who are you? Aren't you in my class too?"
Kody had to admit that this was a bit of a random meeting in the deadness of the library, and wondered who these two people were.

Ezzie smiled a bit as the boy picked up a few books and put them into his bag. Suddenly, a boy came up to the group. He looked quite a bit younger than both Ezzie and the boy, and judging by his robes he was a Ravenclaw. She had always thought that Ravenclaws were pretty interesting people. They had always seemed to ask just the rig ht questions and say and do all the right things. They all seemed so perfect in every way. Ezzie remembered meeting Angelie Sheridan, a Ravenclaw sixth year who was Carson McGreggor’s best friend…other than Ethan of course. Ezzie tried not to cringe at the thought of Ethan. She didn’t want to think about him anymore. He was just too painful to think about at all. She didn’t want to think about the break-up, and yet, she didn’t want to think about the times when they were together either. The break-up just made her furious at Ethan and anyone who had any resemblance to him. Their relationship just made Ezzie depressed because she knew she would probably never have such a connection with anyone ever again. She sighed as she answered the boy’s ever so common question. Everywhere she went; the same questions and comments were brought up. “Oh my gosh, you’re Ezzie Mendez!” they would say, as if Ezzie didn’t already know who she was. ‘you look just like Ezzie Mendez’ they would say, not knowing that the reason was because SHE WAS EZZIE MENDEZ! Ezzie stopped in mid thought. She was being so sour to all her loyal fans. She merely smiled at the boy. 1103
“Yeah, that’s me. I’m Ezzie.” She said, now in fame mode. Ezzie had two modes for living. She had her normal mode, which was how she acted when she was around friends and people she knew. Then there was her fame mode. Her fame mode was used around fans and interviewers, and others who only knew her because she was famous. It was important to separate those two attitudes, because otherwise, she’d have a lot of problems. “And I’m actually here to study for a charms exam, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen you somewhere before. I think you’re in my Defense class or something. You definitely look familiar.” She said, with an award winning smile. She had to get used to this more. She was tired of being taken by such surprise whenever someone already knew her name.
((sorry for the wait guys! BBBS has kept me pretty busy lately.))

Her name was Ezzie. Not Esmeralda. Ezzie. He could call her Ezzie. "I can't believe that someone famous goes here. Well, besides Dumbledore, Harry Potter, Neville Longbottom, and You-Know-Who. But all those guys were famous for their magic stuff. You're famous for singing." Skyler sighed. "Who would have guessed that I would met you here." At that point he turned towards the other boy to answer his question. "My name's Skyler Willis. I was just in your potions class. I'm afraid that I didn't earn Ravenclaw as much points as I could have. Sometimes I wonder why they put me in the intelligent house. Ever since coming to the wizarding world I've done nothing particularly smart." He then turned back to Ezzie. He didn't want to be rude to the boy by talking to Ezzie was much more interesting.
This is so unlike me, thought Skyler. Here I am actually engaging in a conversation with two people I don't know. The old me would have never done this. It made Skyler happy to think that Hogwarts was changing him for the better. It sort of scared him though, how quickly this change was occurring. Almost like there was something "magical" about his transformation. Hmmmm.....
Ezzie's remark jerked Skyler back to life. "Charms! I just learned a charm the other day." Skyler quickly took out his wand at aimed it at a book that was lying on the table. He was dying to play around with his magic and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. He flicked his wrist while saying: "Wingardium Leviosa." Just like he hoped the book rose off the table and started to levitate. It floated higher and higher which made Skyler happier and happier, until he realised something. "I hope you didn't need that book. I have no idea how to make it come down."

All the commotion right in front of him had Kody take a step back for a minute, trying to figure out who was who. The boy that had showed up introduced himself as Skyler, and the girl was apparently Ezzie. The boy seemed younger than he was, and Kody chuckled as Skyler performed his levitation charm. As the book continued to float to the ceiling, Skyler began to panic, it seemed. He mentioned how he didn't know how to get it down. They didn't teach first years much about levitation, as far as he remembered, from his first year, but being a third year, he knew how to get the book down. He introduced himself first, however. "Well I'm Kody. Kody Leuchten. And since you don't know how to get your book down," he said, as he looked at both Ezzie and Skyler, more turned to the boy, of course. "I'll teach you how to get it down. You simply say the charm again, but flick your wrist the opposite way you did it to make it levitate."
He pointed his wand to the ceiling, where the book was about to hit it, and spoke the charm again, turning his wrist the opposite way. Immediately, the book fell from the top of the building, but he spoke the charm once more to stop it midair. It was quite a simple charm, but he knew what it was like to be a first year and experimenting. He handed the book back to Skyler, saying, "Now you better learn how to get them down, before you end up with all your books on the ceiling. Otherwise you might have to levitate yourself up there to get them!" He laughed, joking with the boy.
He looked over at Ezzie then. "Thank you, Ezzie, for letting me use these books. Are you sure you won't be needing them anymore? I mean, we could always give a few to Skyler to try out his levitation spell on. What were you working on before I came over and bothered you?" he inquired, wanting to put his own two cents into the conversation that had seemed to become two sided rather quickly.
