It was nearly four o’clock now and Loki was standing, earlier than usual, outside of the potions class, in wait for Carey. He was leaning against the wall as usual, and (though she had gotten him a book for his doodles as well) he was drawing on his hand in the muggle gel pens Carey had gotten him for his birthday. He had to admit that muggles were pretty clever at times. They had some amazing pens that was sure. I mean, the ink just flowed right out of these things, and they were all cool colors! Loki had taken to drawing with these instead of the usual self inking quill he had been using before and made sure to thank Carey for them every time he thought about it. Her gifts had definitely been the best gifts he’d received. Far better then pointless books and nasty candy. Some kid had actually had the nerve to get Loki a package of blood flavored lollipops (You know these are for vampires? “I thought werewolves liked them too...” Um...do I have fangs? Have you ever heard me talk in a stupid accent? I vant to suck your bloooood...no, you haven’t. So obviously I don’t like the same things those nasty blood suckers do. Suffice to say he really did love Carey’s gifts. Which is the reason he was using her pens, and listening to the music thingy he had been given. And as he did that, he hummed along with the very Poison song she had mentioned so long ago.
It had been two weeks and two days since Loki had told Carey he loved her. Two weeks and two days since she had said she loved him back. And two weeks and two days since they had become an ‘us’. Loki was absolutely thrilled and he had made a point to tell ever person he possibly could that he and Carey Brighton were an item. They were a couple. Yes he was with her thank you very much. Yes he loved her, wasn’t she amazing? Yes, she was absolutely perfect for him. No, you may not talk to her. Ok so maybe he didn’t go that far but if another guy happened to make any remarks on just how amazing Carey was, that guy sure got a glare, and maybe an intimidated growl. Loki might have been overprotective...and maybe a little territorial...but every time he mentioned it to Carey she only smiled and kissed him, so he figured it was a good thing. Loki couldn’t deny that Carey was just so amazing that everyone must have wanted her for themselves, and that was the reason he was so overprotective. It had nothing to do with him not trusting her, no no, he trusted her completely. It had everything to do with him not trusting guys. Guys had a tendency to do things without thinking about the fact that there was a big mean boyfriend on the other side of the girl who was more than happy to break the guys nose.
And so, when the Potions door opened, Loki sat up off the wall and smiled seeing only Carey come out of the room. He was always just waiting for a guy to make one false move so that Loki could put him in his place. Loki just...oh well to be honest he just thought it would be kind of entertaining. Though no doubt if he told this to Carey she might very well lecture him, but that was no problem seeing as he would just smile and kiss her when she was done, and then agree with her and the next time, try and change his behavior. Carey always knew best, always. He smiled brightly as she made her way to him, and held out his arms. “How’d ol’Snapey feel about you leaving class early?”

Carey was not looking forward to approaching the professor and telling him she had to leave his class, but she was looking forward to getting out of the class. Quite a lot, actually. She hadn’t been able to pay attention to the class at all. She had to start over on her potion thrice already and that was aggravating Snape, but that was okay – Carey didn’t really care how Snape was feeling. She looked at the clock and then waved her wand to get rid of the remnants of her potion after she had bottled it. She stood from her desk and walked to the front of the room and handed the vial to Snape, “I’ve got to get going, Professor. I have a note from McGonagall, here you are…” Carey handed him the folded parchment along with the vial and then turned and hurried out of the classroom without actually being dismissed. Carey had never been a bad student in his class. She was actually quite good at potions, and she enjoyed the class more than she enjoyed History of Magic. She was a decent student, who listened to instructions well and never sass talked the teacher. So why would Snape have any reason to hate her except for her house? He couldn’t even hate her for her blood because she was pure and her father was considered one of the better known purebloods in the wizarding world. There was no reason for Snape to hate her and she didn’t ever give him any opportunity to express his hatred for her if he had any. Anyway, Carey had accomplished what she had needed to get done – which was finishing her love potion (which had mysteriously smelt like Loki) and handed the note to Snape excusing her a half hour early from class. So now she was rushing out of the classroom to the corridor where Loki was leaning casually against the wall, drawing on his hand with one of his gel pens.
He spotted her and opened his arms for her, which she fit into nicely; burying her face in his chest and breathing in the familiar scent she had been smelling for the past 30 minutes. He asked about Snape and Carey chuckled before looking up at him, “I had a note from McGonagall. I had actually lied to get that note…you’re a bad influence on me, Loki Fen’Rolphus.” A playful smile crossed her face before she leaned up a bit and kissed him happily She had missed kissing him and they had only been apart for about 40 minutes. Carey just didn’t like being away from him. She kind of felt like she had been away from him enough when she was avoiding him for that week (Carey winced mentally at the memory) that she couldn’t even think of being away from him longer than she needed to be. It was something that Carey just didn’t want to do and yet she knew she had to. She hated the fact that they weren’t in the same house. If they were in the same house, they could stay up later talking in the common room and not have to worry about teachers walking up and down the corridor. Of course Carey had an excuse – she was a prefect – but Loki had no excuse to be out past curfew with his head in her lap. Though Carey was certain that Loki could talk his way out of any situation if he had to, as long as she made sure to keep her mouth shut as he spoke to the teacher. Carey smiled to herself as she pulled back from the kiss (which had grown into many kisses) and then grabbed his hand and looked at it with a small frown, “Do you ever use your sketchbook, sweetie? I mean, if you don’t like it you can tell me… we can trade it in for another music crystal.”
She looked back up at him and then shrugged before linking their fingers and squeezing his hand with a small smile, “I plan on buying you a lot more crystals anyway. There is some really good music out there that I want you to listen to, this way whenever I make references and think I’m being clever – you’ll actually get what I am saying.” She leaned up and kissed his cheek, her smile brighter than before as she pulled him away from the wall and headed up the stairs to the main floor. She was to stay with him tonight; during the full moon. Carey wasn’t afraid, she was exhilarated. There was no reason for her to be afraid, but it did give her a feeling where she was kind of like on the edge of her seat… a mixture of excitement and anxiety… but not the bad kind of anxiety. Carey and Loki walked up to the main floor and then started to head in the direction of the room of requirement. She didn’t know quite what to expect; but that was one of the things that made Carey so excited for everything to happen. She must admit that it wasn’t just the idea of staying the whole night with Loki..it was…seeing the other side of him? Because no matter how much she believed that Loki was first and foremost Loki…there was still a whole other side to him that Carey wanted to know. And she was glad that he wasn’t denying her the ability to get to know that side.

Loki wrapped his arms around Carey tightly as she buried her face in his chest, she did that often and it was definitely one of his favorite things she did. He closed his eyes and kissed the top of her head tenderly, enjoying their few moments of piece before he knew he’d have to rush, and slightly sneak, to get them into the room of requirement. Anyways, he smiled lovingly down at her as she told him that she had to lie and that he was a bad influence on her. He laughed and shook his head. “I’ve never told you to lie darling...though I’m not reprimanding you for it. Whatever works to get you with me.” He kissed her back happily as she leaned up and kissed him, he always loved that she had to lean up slightly to kiss him. Yeah, that may have sounded bad but it always made them seem...more like...oh he didn’t know but he liked that she had to lean up. He was really glad he wasn’t shorter then her, something about being too short bothered him and so he was glad he was a bit taller than her. But he was also glad he wasn’t way taller than her, like to the point where she had to strain her neck to kiss him.
Loki kissed her back happily, and connected his own kisses onto hers, loving the way they could just slip into that so easily. They always did that. The two weren’t really one for public displays of affection, but even when they were around other people the two of them shared sweet kisses, but kisses like these were mostly reserved for when they were alone. They both preferred it that way, keeping their relationship more modest in public. Unlike a certain few prefects Loki had spotted in the halls before. Though he had chuckled at the two of them and how much fun they seemed to be having together. Loki smiled as Carey pulled back from the kiss and then he frowned slightly as she did. “No no no honey! I do love it! You should see the things I’ve drawn in it! It’s just not the most convenient thing to carry around, especially tonight seeing as I might chew through it...” He smiled lovingly and kissed her forehead. “I love all your gifts baby.”
Loki smiled more as she linked their fingers and squeezed his hand, and he squeezed hers back, remember the first time she had made a reference to muggle music. He honestly never thought he’d enjoy music so much, but now he found himself memorizing every song she gave him.”Loki walked with Carey was they made their way up the stairs and then continuing up the stairs to the room of requirement. The whole time they walked Loki was looking around and over his shoulder cautiously. If there was one thing he didn’t need it was for someone to spot him taking Carey into the room with him, especially a professor. Loki had been specifically told that he was not to talk about what he did on full moon nights, nor to take anyone into the room, seeing as they were all worried about safety issues. But Loki had done it enough times, and knew full well that there would be no harm in bringing Carey. Besides. If Carey planned on marrying Loki, she needed to know exactly what she was getting herself into. Wow...marrying him? That was an amazing thought. There could not possibly be a better one. Spending the rest of his life with Carey?
When they reached the right floor, Loki let go of Carey’s hand so that he could pace back in front of the room, asking it for the usual thing he asked for. It was so routine it didn’t take even three passes before the door appeared. He opened the door and waited as Carey passed in, before following her and shutting the door tight. He smiled and looked around. The far wall was nearly a wall at all. It was more like a set of steps. There were pillows around, and on the floor were a few toys, Loki laughed pathetically at how puppy like he actually was. This time there was a bed on one side of the room, along with a large couch, obviously for Carey’s comfortability. There was a table by the bed which had a few snack foods on it and a variety of drinks that she could munch on throughout the night whenever she got the urge. It was funny for Loki to see that they room had actually provided fruit and other various greens instead of meat products. For one it must have known Carey was a vegetarian, and two it must have known Loki would have devoured the meat. He smiled and without really thinking about it, pulled his shirt over his head, folded it, and set it on one of the steps to his right. Undressing was something he had done every time, seeing as he didn’t exactly want to ruin his school robes, and yet he hadn’t thought about the fact that this time he was in the room with Carey.

They entered the room and Carey looked around at what Loki had envisioned. She laughed quietly as her eyes took in the entire room. She noted the bed, couch, and table full of vegetarian friendly foods and smiled softly before turning to look at Loki. She turned at precisely the wrong (or right, depending on how you saw it) moment because he had just pulled his shirt off over his head and set it on the stair that was to his right. Carey’s eyes widened and she coughed before turning around slowly and heading over to the table with the fruit and vegetables. She wondered what was going through Loki’s head as he had done that. Had he completely forgotten she was standing there or was he just trying to get a reaction out of her? Whatever the reason, Carey busied herself with an apple, tossing it in the air and catching it as she dropped her shoulderbag on the table and looked at the bed. She was certain there was normally not a bed in the room and that it was most definitely there for her benefit – though Carey would have willingly slept on the floor if it meant staying the night with Loki. She tucked her hair behind her ear as she climbed onto the bed and purposely avoided Loki as he undressed. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to look at him, but she didn’t feel it was appropriate. Yes. Appropriate.
It was difficult, though, to keep her eyes off him and once he had removed his pants – Carey felt the need to speak up; “Undress in front of girls normally, Loki? Or am I a special snowflake?”Her tone was teasing and she chuckled when he looked like he just realized she was there. Carey stood from the bed (which she had assessed was perfect) and headed over to the table, dropping the apple back in the bowl she had gotten it from before making her way back over to Loki. She was really looking forward to spending the night with him, though she was certain she wouldn’t get any work done (because according to him he liked to play fetch and was like a puppy and if Carey knew something it was that puppies liked to play). As long as he didn’t eat her homework, which he probably wouldn’t even though she was now quite sceptical about it because he had mentioned chewing through his sketchpad, she knew that everything would be fine. She would probably skip class in the morning so she could spend her morning do her homework that she didn’t get done tonight. Carey had this all worked out. She had been thinking about it for awhile, long enough to have everything planned to the last detail on what she would tell her dorm mates or what not if they asked.
She had reached Loki now and wrapped her arms around his neck, “It’s funny how easy you forgot me, Loki. I don’t know if I should be hurt or amused.” She was teasing him again, it was something she did. Not sexually, she didn’t think she was much of a sexual tease and even if she was – she doubted that her and Loki were that far into their relationship just yet, but she teased him a lot about his actions or words. She did it because she liked to see the look on his face. That look of love and concern that she was upset that crossed his face whenever he realized he had said something that might have actually upset her. She was hardly ever upset with him, though, how could she be? He was Loki and he was absolutely amazing. Carey leaned up and kissed his nose with a small giggle, “Just teasing, sweetie. So, tell me…” Carey kissed him softly and quickly, “how long do we have before you turn into an overgrown puppy and I have to play fetch…? Oh and just to warn you, I am terrible at fetch, I can’t throw to save my life. You won’t want to play fetch with me for too long. I assure you.” She smiled and shrugged before dropping her arms from his neck and drawing a heart on his bare chest.

Loki didn’t notice Carey’s cough, he was...in a strange mode of thought. He was actually thinking (as he undressed) how this would be for Carey. To be in the room with him while he had his transformation. But at the same time he was thinking so hard about what it would be like to see another person on a full moon night, that he wasn’t thinking about the fact that he was undressing in front of her. Honestly he was undressing absentmindedly, just following the same routine he followed every time he went into this room. He had a pattern, walk in, look around, undress, relax. His mind was running though, he hadn’t ever really seen someone. When Loki was at Shaants, he was sent up to his room, and Shaant figured out some magical way to keep him there. It was as if Shaant really honestly didn’t want to see Loki in that state...a lot of people felt like that. They were perfect friends with Loki, but a lot of them seemed to scatter as night time came closer, as if he might somehow change on a regular night and not just a full moon night. Oh and then there was always the fact that people avoided Loki when he started to look sickly. It wasn’t something he could help, it was just one of the side effects that came the full week before the moon, and at least three days after. So really, Loki looked sick most of the year. But when he wasn’t looking sick? Those two or so weeks a month? Everyone loved him.
Carey was different though. She loved him, and she was with him all the time no matter how sick he looked. She was probably one of the only people that got that Loki was really human, despite common misconception. It wasn’t until she had spoken up that Loki was reminded of her actual presence in the room, and of the fact that he was now standing in his boxers. He turned around and laughed pathetically, shaking his head and looking guilty. “Never done it before, I assure you.” Loki wasn’t embarrassed about being undressed in front of her; he was only slightly embarrassed about having forgot about the presence of his girlfriend in the room. He didn’t at all want to make her uncomfortable, but he assumed he hadn’t so much when she stood from the bed, deposited an apple into the bowl of fruit, and made her way to him. Loki smiled softly as Carey wrapped her arms around his neck, letting his wrap around her waist, but immediately changed his smile to an apologetic one when she mentioned how he had forgot her. But, almost as quick as it appeared, his fear of having upset her was eased when she kissed his nose with a giggle. He should have known she was teasing him, she tended to do that. But a part of Loki always worried he’d say something or do something he hadn’t meant to; kind of like he had the night he had gotten upset with her. Loki hated some of the things he had said to her that night, and if there was one thing he never wanted to do again, it was to hurt her.
Loki kissed Carey back happily, just as softly and quickly and then shrugged slightly. “The problem with this room is there’s no window, so I really don’t know what it’s like outside. Now thought? We have an hour or two I think?” He looked thoughtful and then sighed slightly, “If it’s any help I assure you you’ll know when something’s happening...” The thought just struck Loki that Carey would have to watch him go through the actual painful process of changing. He knew she wouldn’t like that, but there really was no way around it. Loki looked down, smiling lovingly as he watched Carey’s finger draw a heart on his chest, and then looked up at her. “When it does happen, don’t worry about me ok honey? It might kind of...shock you? But it’ll be over quick and I’ll be fine...I promise.”

“Well,” Carey told him as she had approached, “that’s a relief. I’m not sure how I’d react to you saying you undressed in front of other girls. I mean, whatever you did in your past isn’t relevant to our relationship, but I don’t know how I’d feel about you stripping.” She paused and looked thoughtful, her eyes lifted upward to the ceiling in apparent thought. Then she looked upset; “No, I wouldn’t like that at all.” A smile crossed her face. It was a small smile, but it was a smile that she reserved for Loki and Loki only. No one else ever got that smile because it was her ‘Loki Smile.’ Carey had a lot of ‘Loki’ things, but then again – Carey’s life pretty much revolved around Loki Fen’Rolphus. It was only expected that she had a lot of things that she turned into ‘Loki things.’ Wasn’t it? Carey thought it was and so she thought it was no big deal when she stumbled upon these things without a warning. Her ‘Loki Actions and Reactions’ as she called them. She made a mental to tell Loki about her Loki Actions and Reactions, knowing he’d like to hear about them. It was just something he’d enjoy hearing when he had his head in her lap and she played with his hair. They liked talking about things like that. Things that made them both feel really good about their relationship and about themselves. It wasn’t exactly an ego-trip, but it was something that made them feel better about themselves than they normally would. Carey could safely say her self-esteem had risen quite a bit since she had started being around Loki.
She listened to him talk about how long they have, nodding in agreement with him before looking up startled and checking the room. “No window?” Her voice rang with a hint of anxiety. Sure enough, her eyes did not pass over any windows and this made Carey’s breathing become irregular. She rested her head on his chest and took several deep breaths to calm herself down before lifting her head and looking around the room again. Ever since she was 3, Carey had hated rooms without windows – including closets. She didn’t know why; it wasn’t like she suffered from a childhood tragedy or something, she just didn’t like rooms without windows. She felt like she was in a box, and Carey didn’t like feeling like she was in a box. Even jail cells have windows, don’t they? So, what kind of room didn’t have any windows? This one… Carey looked back at Loki, having completely regained her composure again; “No window…I can deal with that. Really. I can; really.” She nodded and smiled, before kissing his cheek. “I have this little thing with windowless rooms. They tend to make me feel…claustrophobic. Yes. Claustrophobic. But I can deal with this. No problem.” Loki then spoke again after her tirade of “I can, really”s and he mentioned the changing having the ability to shock her. Carey stopped drawing hearts on his chest and looked at him.
She had already thought about all of that. She had already thought about how she would react – not to him in his werewolf form but more so to him changing. Every time she viewed it from a different angle, it always came back the same way; she would be in shock, yes…but she’d be able to deal. Carey’s mental process was that he had been dealing with it far longer than he’d known her and that it wouldn’t be any different with her there. She’d just stay far away and not interfere. However, thinking about it and doing it would be something completely different. Carey looked at Loki and then leaned up a bit to kiss him softly, connecting another kiss to that first one and then another to that one. When she pulled away, she stroked his cheek; “I’ll try not to be too concerned. I’m sure if you’re screaming in pain, I’m not going to be able to deal with it as well as I’d like to fool myself into believing.”

Loki chuckled and shook his head as Carey told him she wouldn’t be too happy if he undressed in front of other girls. No, no, that was something that Loki most definitely had never done...and to be honest...Loki had really actually not done much. Carey was Loki’s first girlfriend. His first kiss. The first girl he’d ever been so close to, the first girl he’d ever been so flirty with. Carey was the first girl Loki had ever wanted to be serious with. Carey was a lot of first for Loki, and if everything went the way he wanted them to, she’d be his only. Loki could honestly say he could wait for all the other things couples did, as long as he could do those things with Carey.
Loki had no desire to be intimate with anyone else, and he knew he never would. The way he saw it he’d never find someone as wonderful as Carey, and he’d never find someone who got him like Carey did. So why would he ever consider being physically intimate with someone he couldn’t be mentally and emotionally intimate with? He could be mentally and emotionally intimate with Carey, and so she was the only one he wanted to be physically intimate with. Loki wasn’t a terribly sexual guy, so waiting wasn’t a problem. He’d wait forever for Carey. Besides that, Loki wasn’t confident enough to strip in front of anyone else. In fact, Loki –had he been in his right bit of thought- probably wouldn’t have stripped in front of Carey. But he hadn’t been thinking, so it had kind of just happened. He had actually been nervous up until the point when Carey had drawn hearts on his chest, at that point, the positives outweighed his insecurities.
He had closed his eyes for a few moments as she spoke, but when he told her about the window, and she spoke up, a bit anxious sounding, Loki looked at her concerned. He finished his thought and then backtracked; “Honey...if the no windows thing bothers you, you don’t have to stay...you can go back to your dorm for the night...I don’t want you to be all anxious all night...” He was cut off by her kisses, happily of course, and kissed her back every time. These kisses were all new to Loki. He had nothing to compare them with (though even if he did he knew they’d come out on top). They were still...first kisses? If you will. For lack of a better term, snogging (Loki hates that word...) was something Loki had never done before, and while he wouldn’t exactly classify what he did with Carey to be snogging, some people would, and that was new for him. But anyways, what I was getting at was that every kiss the two of them shared was new, and that was something Loki really loved. Nothing ever got old with Carey. Loki closed his eyes as Carey stroked his cheek, leaning into her touch, and then spoke softly when she finished. “Just stay a big away...It’s kinda painful and I’ve never been in a position to watch myself...so I don’t know how safe it’ll be to try and hold me or anything...so promise to stay on the other side of the room? Only till I’m done.”

“Oh, hush,” Carey told him after she had interrupted him with kisses, “Windows are no reason for me to return to the Hufflepuff common room and be away from you.” She stroked his cheek at this moment and continued to do just that as she listened to Loki explain to her that she should stay a bit away from him when the time called for it. Her eyes locked on his for a moment and then she nodded slowly, “I don’t know how well I’ll do, but I promise to stay away.” Even though Carey had thought all of this through, it still worried her that he’ll be in so much pain that she couldn’t bear it. Carey halted pain, but she’d much rather be in pain then watch the love of her life be in pain. She smiled lovingly at Loki and then leaned up and kissed his forehead. Everything would be fine, Carey knew it would be. She just knew. She was an optimist in that sense. It was probably the only thing Carey would ever be an optimist about. She kissed his forehead again and then kissed his lips softly and slowly and very passionately.
She held the kiss out for as long as she possibly could before pulling away again and tracing his lips with her thumb. There were a lot of things Carey loved doing with Loki and kissing was most definitely one of them. She hadn’t ever kissed anyone besides Loki and their kisses were always amazing so it wasn’t like she’d ever had a bad experience to scar her or something. All her kisses were good kisses because they were with Loki. Carey ran her fingers through Loki’s hair lovingly and then turned and looked around the room a moment before taking Loki’s hand and pulling him over to the bed. Carey climbed onto the bed, stifling a quiet yawn, and pulled him up onto the bed with her, just for the moment. She found herself wondering if she’d be able to stay awake for as long as she wanted to. She didn’t know why she was so tired, maybe she hadn’t slept well the night before. Regardless, she was rather exhausted although she didn’t want to be.
Once Loki was up on the bed with her, Carey moved and rested her head in his lap like he usually did in hers, and looked up at him with loving eyes; “I promise I won’t pass out on you tonight, no matter how tired I look.” She giggled quietly and covered her face with her hands, knowing full well how tired she looked. Carey was capable of staying awake, though, because she had to do it to study full nights away come O.W.L.s like every fifth year seemed to do. She knew it was going to be a tough year, but she couldn’t help but think that she’ll be able to get through it because she’ll have Loki. Loki was her light in the darkness and although she had done okay without him in her life before, she knew there was no turning back now that he had made an appearance in her life like he had now. Carey looked up at him and then took his hand and kissed the palm of it before playing with it and saying, “So, you do promise not to eat my homework, yes?”
