The classroom was an abandoned one on the third floor, a little out of the way. The door had (or did have) cobwebs on it because it had not been used in nearly four years. Mack and Alex hadn’t any idea what it wasn’t used still – but they weren’t going to question it. The classroom served for their purposes and that was something they rather enjoyed. Why question something that they could use to their advantage? Anyone who ventured down that corridor on the third floor with the abandoned classroom at the end, would probably be surprised at what they would find; but Mack and Alex hadn’t really thought consciously about someone finding the room and them inside. They usually, if they weren’t in a rush, remembered to lock it and then barricade it to give them enough time to set up a scene if need be, but normally – the thought of someone finding them was far from their mind. Venturing down that hallway now, a person would find the two sixth years tidying themselves. Mack was perched on a desk, hmming and hahing as she zipped up her boot and straightened her skirt, “You know,” she said with a tone that suggested she had quite a bit on her mind. There was no doubt that Alex would pester her for her thoughts, so she figured she would share. Mack tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear and moved her hands to smooth out her plaid skirt, “One of these days – someone’s going to walk in here when we’re using it.” She lifted her blue eyes to look at her boyfriend and then shrugged as she kicked her legs slightly to make sure her boots were completely on (although you would think that they would be completely on because they were zip ups).
Letting her eyes travel over him for a second, Mack hopped off the desk and reached for his tie that had been discarded somewhere along the wall that was to her left. She picked it up off the stone floor and wrapped it around her wrist before turning and looking for her tie. A spark of green and silver silk caught her eye and she headed in that direction, swiping up her tie, and looping it around her neck as she walked back to Alex; “Two prefects in an empty classroom…not a good thing. We’d probably get our badges taken away, oh gee…” Mack smirked here as she started to button up Alex’s shirt for him, “how horrible that would be.” Her sarcasm was very apparent as she finished the buttons and pulled him into a kiss by his collar. As her lips pressed against his, she had to control the eagerness inside of her that she would have normally let out. Mack pulled away from the kiss after a moment, then looped his blue tie around his neck, and straightened it out before starting to do it up. As much as Mack loved all the things that went on prior to this – she had to admit that helping him with his tie was one of her favourite things to do. It made her feel as if they were more than boyfriend and girlfriend and in a sense, they were. It was a fast relationship – one they had crashed into, but Mack would never have traded it for anything. She loved how everything was. She loved how fast it was. How amazing it was. “You,” Mack finished the tie and tightened it to his neck but not too tight…no, she only made things tight like that during other occasions, “really should learn how to tie these things, you know. I’m not going to be there every time you need a tie done…not these kinds of ties, anyway.” She was just teasing him like she always did, because she really did love doing (and undoing) his tie. They were two of her favourite things.
After she had finished tying his tie for him, she smoothed his shirt fondly, and then started to do her tie. She tied it loosely so it hung limply around her neck and then buttoned up her grey sweater. Mack never liked wearing her sweater but not buttoning it. In fact, she hated to have all of her tie showing – she hated the idea that if she had an ink stain on her tie (which she often did) that people could see the ink stain if she didn’t notice it was there. Mack liked looking like she took forever to look as nice as she did even though she looked rather…thrown together. And most times – she was rather ‘thrown together.’ With a quick sigh, Mack picked up her wand and pocketed it before pulling out a hair tie and pulling her hair up into a messy bun. She really didn’t want to have to worry about how messy her hair looked – so pulling it up had become a fast solution. She looked around the classroom once more, making sure she had everything, before looking at Alex again; “Alright, I’ve gotta go.” She told him with a slight frown before walking toward him and pulling him into another kiss, this one softer than the previous one. She hated leaving him, but it was something that was inevitable.

Alex stood, well...stood is a debatable definition of Alex’s posture. Alex was half standing, half leaning against the wall of the small, but definitely not uncomfortable classroom that he and Mack had stumbled upon within the first week or so of school. They hadn’t exactly set out to find the room, but the fact that right when they had needed it, they had found it, was definitely a sign wasn’t it? I mean...things like that didn’t just happen, everything happened for a reason right? Maybe...maybe Promise was just trying to argue that the things he did with Mack in this classroom were designated by a higher being. Alex would have chuckled if he had the breath, because honestly, he didn’t care who designated his actions. The things he did with Mackenzie every minute of the day were amazing and he loved them. He loved every single second he spent with her. Mmm...Boy did he love those seconds. But anyways, back to Alex’s standing/leaning against the wall. He was definitely leaning, quite out of breath. His head was leaned back and he smiled lovingly across the room at the most amazing girl he’d ever seen in his life, watching her dress. That was one of his favorite things to do, and for more reasons than just the obvious ones. He knew he was special. He knew he wasn’t just some guy to her. He was the love of her life just like she was the love of his. He smile and finally, when he felt up to moving again, zipped and buttoned his pants. Alex smiled and placed a hand on his chest, taking a deep (slightly shaky but definitely more strong then a few minutes before) breath and then watched and listened as Mack straightened her skirt and kicked her legs. He chuckled lightly when she hopped off the desk. “Eventually, but by then hopefully we’ll have figured something else out eh?” He closed his eyes in thought and then smiled to himself. “And anyways, I think anyone who walks in on us owes us a thank you.”
When he opened his eyes again he found Mack standing in front of him. He grinned as she buttoned his shirt, that was something he had forgotten to do, his mind was still foggy and he was incredibly exhausted. As usual. “Aw, but I look good in my badge.” He smirked and closed his eyes again, before she finished his shirt and pulled him suddenly into a kiss. He wouldn’t deny that he kissed her back eagerly, her kisses always did things to him that were just....mmmm indescribably. Good feelings, very very good feelings. Of course though, she pulled back. It wouldn’t be long now before she’d have to head off to class. They’d done this same routine nearly every day this week. He smiled lovingly at her as she pulled his tie around his neck and began to tie it. She was far too good to him. He had no doubts that if it wasn’t for the fact that their relationship was completely different from anyone else’s any other girl would have just dressed and said seeya later. Mack on the other hand, she understood Alex, and how he worked, and what he was like when he was...well... you know what I mean. She loved him, and she took pleasure in tying his tie and buttoning his shirt – not to mention untying and unbuttoning. She liked to do that too. Mack and Alex were more than just your average school couple. Alex knew without a doubt that theirs was something deeper, stronger, lasting. He knew he’d be with her for a long time. And if he had his way, he’d be with her for forever. “I know I should baby, but I just love when you do it.” He smirked as she made a mention to something far less innocent then dressing. “I love all the ties you tie.”
By the time she was finished, and smoothed his shirt he felt up to moving, slowly of course. If he moved too fast he was sure to get dizzy. And so he pulled himself from the wall and stood up straight, watching as she tied her own tie and then began to button her sweater. For a second he debated tucking his shirt in, but he knew there was no point. In less then half an hour he’d be lying in bed asleep. Out cold. He was beyond exhausted and nothing (other than spending the rest of the day with Mack) sounded better than a nap. He shook his head and ran his hands through his hair, knowing it was probably a mess. Mackenzie had a habit of messing his hair up, but he loved it. He loved it a lot. He watched her as she got her things together and then smiled lightly as she walked back to him and told him she’d have to go. She pulled him into another kiss and he kissed her back happily, though not as sexually eager as he had the first time around. He knew he couldn’t ask her to stay with him, she’d already missed class twice that week and was surely running out of excuses. When the kiss was done Alex wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tight, pulling her close to him. If he wasn’t going to have her to nap with, he at least needed to feel her held close to him for a bit before she left him for the next few hours. “I love you Mackenzie.” He said as he kissed the top of her head.

“I’m not quite sure how I feel about someone thanking us for being available to their viewing pleasures, Alex.” Mack smirked as she had finished buttoning his shirt. She always had a lot more energy than he did afterwards, but she didn’t mind it. She liked doing the lovey girlfriend/wife type of thing. It wasn’t something she had really been good at doing before – but Mack loved doing it for Alex. It was because she was in love with him. That was evident. After she had kissed him and done up his tie, she started to do hers and Alex had spoken about loving all the ties she tied; “I know you do. They’re fun ties, aren’t they?” Another smirk from Mack as she buttoned up her sweater over her tie. Their banter and innuendo always made Mack smirk. It was just something that made her realize how different their relationship really was from everyone else’s. They didn’t act like couples at the age of 16 or 17, they acted like a married couple and Mack found that really amusing – yet she enjoyed that idea. She loved the fact that they were like a married couple. It made their relationship very unique and Mack loved unique. There were things that Alex did that made Mack realize even more just how much she loved him, how strong her feelings for him were, how strong their relationship was. Most people didn’t have what she and Alex did, and most people didn’t realize that they were missing something spectacular. Alex had run his hands through his hair and Mack shook her head, clicking her tongue, before reaching up and straightening out his brown hair for him; “I always mess up your hair,” she told him almost absentmindedly as she fixed his hair so it looked semi-neat.
Then she had turned around, got all of her things together, and then returned back to her boyfriend. Kissing him was always a favourite pastime of Mack’s, too (along with undressing and dressing him). She loved the feeling got whenever she kissed Alex. It wasn’t like any other feeling in the world. It was something different and Mack, again, loved it. When the kiss had been broken, Alex wrapped his arms around her, hugging her close to him, and Mack hugged him back as she closed her eyes. His words sent a small shiver down her back. It was a feeling that she got whenever she heard him tell her that he loved her. It was a great feeling, one that Mack wouldn’t trade for the world. It always took her a couple of seconds to reply because she had to figure out how to get her vocal chords to work again, but she knew Alex didn’t mind. She breathed in deeply and smiled softly as she buried her face in his neck, “I love you, too, Alex; so much.” She kissed his neck softly – and immediately she knew she shouldn’t have done that. Because now she was trailing soft kisses up his neck and along his jawline. They were soft and slow as she kissed up to his lips and even the kiss they shared when she reached those were soft and slow, but passionate. Oh, so passionate. Mack connected several kisses to the first one, each just as soft and slow and passionate as the last – if not more so. After a few more kisses, Mack pulled away because she knew that if she continued to kiss him she wouldn’t attend potions again -and Snape was already getting aggravated with her. She didn’t blame the professor, Mack hardly ever made it to class and if she did she was very out of it.
“Maybe…” Mack whispered as she eyed his lips and then kissed him again, “maybe I don’t have to go. It’s just potions. I really don’t need to take it again this year. Maybe I can stay with you. Maybe we can take a nap and then…later…” she kissed him again, this one longer than the previous one had been. There was no doubt in her mind that Mack wanted to stay with Alex, she would have loved to stay with him more than go to class – but she also knew that if she stayed she would probably end up failing Potions and although Mack said she didn’t need the class, she knew she did. So with a heavy heart and even heavier sigh, Mack kissed Alex’s forehead and stepped away; “Then again, I can’t. I really do have to go to class. You take a nap, and I’ll go to class and think about you dreaming about me. Sound alright?” She reached up and stroked his cheek as she pulled her shoulder bag onto her left shoulder. She didn’t want to leave him, but she knew she had to – but only for a little while. If she could, she would spend every minute of every day with Alexander Promise – and someday she would. She kissed his cheek and let her lips linger a bit before pulling away and smiling softly at him, “I love you, you have a good nap, okay? I’ll be back in about an hour.” She took one more look at him and then turned and left the room in a rush; knowing she’d be late to class as it was. Her feet carried out of the third floor corridor and down the flights of stairs to the dungeons. She reached the potions classroom and slipped in, telling Snape that she had been held up with Prefect duties, and then dove into her work -trying to keep her mind off Alex.

Alex smiled and let his eyes droop closed again as Mack fixed his hair. She was right, she did always mess up his hair, but you could be he never complained about it. Mack did a lot of things, but absolutely none of them warranted complaint. Other noises, sure, but those were happy noises. But never ever did a complain come out of Alex’s mouth. He was completely content with what he had with Mack, in fact, content didn’t do it justice. Alex was thrilled by what he and Mack had together. Their relationship was something special, unique and amazing. Completely blissful. If there was one thing Alex was good at...He looked at Mack with a smile on his face, aside from the obvious...it was never taking his Love for granted. Mackenzie Holden was his everything, and never in all his life would he ever take anything with her for granted. Every day he woke up he was thankful that he had her. Every time he looked at her he was thankful he had her. It never ceased to amaze him what a lucky guy he was. Alex had the world, what more could he ask for? Nothing. He could ask for a lifetime with Mackenzie of course, but don’t worry, he planned on doing that soon enough. They had only been dating for a few months you know. Goodness, what a concept. Sometimes Alex forgot that he hadn’t spent his whole life up to this point with Mack. But since the moment he met her he knew he needed her in his life, and now? He had her.
And now he had her in his arms. He held her close as he waited for her reply. Since the first time he’d said it, it always took her a few moments before she replied, but the good thing was that Alex always knew she would. They talked about it enough. About how much they were in love, about what they meant to each other. Normally they would lie, quite out of breath mind you, and discuss these things. It seemed to Alex that every move they made went back to their love in one way or another. Everything was about how much they were in love. Alex had probably said those three words more in the last week then he had his entire life up till meeting Mackenzie, and that wasn’t including the week before that, and the month, and all the time since he said it the first time. He had probably said ‘I love you’ more in that period of time then he ever thought he would in all his life. He just couldn’t stop saying it. Why would he ever want to? She said it back now, and Alex could feel that familiar loss of breath that he normally got. The feeling in his chest like it was bursting because his heart pounded so hard every time she said those words. Not two minutes after she had responded, and Alex had gotten his lungs working again, they seemed to stop once more as the kisses began. Mack’s kisses never stopped having an effect on Alex. And it was always a positive effect. Always one of those effects that left you saying wow. Alex said wow a lot. He shivered and closed his eyes as her kisses made their way up his neck (neck kisses were some of his favorites), and then along his jawline (those too), and finally his lips (oh and he really liked those!).
He kissed her back happily, keeping it soft and slow, but adding his own passion into it. Passionate kisses were their expertise. Then again...they were slowly becoming experts at a lot of things. Anyways, he kissed her back, and then continued to kiss her back with every new kiss she connected onto the first. He knew she should have been going to class, but he quickly pushed that thought to the back of his mind. He wanted her to stay, of course he did, and so he would live in the moments he did have her there with him. There was no way you would see him encouraging her to leave him. She pulled back and Alex was breathing slowly, his eyes closed, just enjoying having her so close. She whispered and he shivered, like he usually did when she whispered at him, like he had since the very first time she whispered. He kissed her back and once again listened. “mmmmm” was all he could get out to her suggestion before she was kissing him again, and he was kissing her back happily again. She pulled back just in time though, a moment longer and she probably would have been a bit too close to a wall to exactly leave the room. He smiled lovingly as she kissed his forehead, knowing that she was being the sensible one. He nodded and chuckled as she mentioned him dreaming about her, he always dreamed about her. He closed his eyes again as she kissed his cheek and then smiled back at her. “I’ll meet up with you here after class honey. If I don’t then...I’m probably laying in bed saying your name so uh...” He laughed. “Send someone up for me baby?” Of course, that wouldn’t happen. Promise would make sure he was up rather then get caught making noises during his nap that sounded like Mack’s name. “I love you too princess” He smiled as she walked out of the room but one she was gone, he sighed heavily and walked out of the room, heading up to the Ravenclaw common room. By the time he got there and began to get ready for his nap, he was nearly passing out. But not too tired to realize he’d left his belt in that classroom. “Oh well...I’ll get it tonight.”

How could the day go from being so good to so bad so quickly? Mack scowled as she stuffed her parchment into her shoulder bag and nearly slammed it onto her shoulder as she stormed out of the potions classroom. Her heels clicked as she nearly stomped up the stairs to the ground level. She had no idea what she had done to have her day turn completely terrible. Mack had gone to class; what more could be asked of her?! She sighed heavily and ran her fingers through her blonde hair (which she had let down once she realized how cold it was in Snape’s classroom) and folded her arms over her chest. They covered the prefect badge she would normally wear proudly, and perhaps that was why the first year who had run into her decided to be rude. Mack had made it up to the third floor corridor that she was supposed to meet Alex in easily, but of course something had to go wrong! Mack spun around as some first year knocked into her and kept walking; not bothering to apologise, “Nice!” She said in a tone that was clearly agitated, “Get back here! NOW!” The first year froze in his tracks and turned slowly around to face Mack. She knew she looked scary, but that was fine. Stupid first year. Stupid petulant first year. You’ll learn your lesson. The first year walked back to her slowly, too slowly for Mack’s liking and she closed the gap between them easily – her arms free from her chest so her prefect badge was glittering. The kid looked up at her, towering over him, and then he smirked; “A Prefect, are you? Great, now I’m really scared.”
Mack raised her eyebrows and stared down at the kid, “Scared? You should be petrified. Don’t tell me we have another Draco Malfoy in our midst; oh God forbid!” The first year looked confused at the name, and Mack shook her head, her anger simmering but not boiling. “You aren’t worth it. Just… get along to your class or wherever the hell you were going.” With one more wavering look at the first year, she moved to head back to the room that she was supposed to meet Alex in and she was almost…almost clear, when the kid said something rather foul to her. Closing her eyes and trying to keep herself calm, Mack reminded herself that they grew out of this phase when they hit their fourth year. She doubted, though, that this kid would ever grow up. She took a deep breath and then turned to look at the kid who was standing with his arms crossed and smirk on his face still, “Don’t make me dock points from my own house, kid. I’ve done it plenty of times before. Why don’t you go and get back with your little buddies and leave the people who are more important than you alone, eh? There’s an idea.” The kid shook his head and Mack stared at him. Normally, she probably wouldn’t have gotten so agitated. She would have docked five points and then walked off, but this was just getting under her skin and NOT in the way she enjoyed. Mack sighed heavily again and tilted her head to the side, “Fine. A week’s detention with Sprout ought to do you some good. That and minus 10 points from Slytherin. Now, don’t make me take anymore… we’re already going to be in the negatives you insolent git. Now, go AWAY.”
Deciding that he didn’t want to be the punching bag of some older Slytherins who weren’t too happy with the negative deduction, he turned and hurried off. Mack scowled and stood there, watching his retreating back; almost daring him to turn back around and holler some foul word at her. He didn’t, though. She sighed, this time partially relieved and partially irritated, and leaned against the wall to her right. Her head bowed as she tried to calm down. Sometimes she really hated being a Slytherin prefect, and those were the times when she actually had to do something; but she couldn’t say she didn’t enjoy abusing her power when the time came for it. Any other prefect would have let the kid go or just walked off themselves, but not Mack. Oh, no. That kid had to get punished. And punished he would be. Spending an afternoon with Sprout re-potting mandrakes was not anyone’s idea of a good time. Mack opened her eyes when she realised she wasn’t alone anymore. Lifting her head, she looked at Alex with tired eyes; “Did you see that? Where is the order anymore? I mean, I don’t agree with the whole blood discrimination thing…but age discrimination? Sure, why not? That kid needs a good….” Mack trailed off, not wanting to say anything she might regret later (hah, yeah, like she’d regret it) and sighed as she pushed herself away from the wall and kissed Alex’s cheek, “Nice nap?”

Alex had made his way up to his room, and as soon as he had his clothes off...again...he collapsed onto the bed, wrapped himself up in the blankets, and was out in two seconds max. Mackenzie Holden could wear him out like no one else had even the potential to. She was...she was wow. Some people might suggest that the relationship they had might have been inappropriate, and others might have said it was far too mature for them, but honestly, they did fine with it. Alex and Mack had never had any problems with how their life together went. things had just happened and neither of them regretted anything they did together. That was the greatest. Not having any regrets. Something that had always worried Alex about someday having a girlfriend was the fact that he might do something he regretted. With Mack however? No, Alex never did anything he regretted. He enjoyed every minute of what they had and that was something amazing. He enjoyed it, even if it left him completely worn out and in need of a good nap. He slept for about forty five minutes, and by the time he woke up again the sheets were all over the place and he knew he had been dreaming; as usual.
He got up, redressed...again...and made his way downstairs to the prefect bathroom where he knew he could get cleaned up comfortably. Alex finished, got dressed again, and made his way up to where he knew he’d be meeting Mack shortly. He always met her in the same spot, and it was always the same routine...unless of course she never ended up going to potions...even so, Alex managed to get some form of a shower. Anyways, they had basically the same routine every day since school had started. It was what they did and Alex was quite content with that. He liked their routine, he liked having a routine, he liked having a routine with Mack, with someone he cared about. He had found himself to be quite dependent on her and he was quite happy with that. Sure, some of his guy friends liked to make comments about how much Mack weighed his decisions, but he saw nothing wrong with it. As far as Alex saw it? Mackenzie Holden might have just taken up the name of Mackenzie Promise. He and her probably had one of the most married couple relationships he knew of and well...he did plan on marrying her soon enough anyways. Maybe Alex would bring that up to her when he saw her...
Alex was standing, leaning against the wall right outside of his and Mack’s classrooms when he heard quite the familiar voice. He smirked, knowing that what he was about to see would be rather entertaining, and turned from the wall, heading off in the direction of his lovely girlfriend’s voice. Sure enough, he came up behind her but stood a good ten feet away, admiring her. There she was, yelling at a first year. While Alex knew that this must have meant that she wasn’t in a great mood, he couldn’t help but think about how amazing she was. He waited as she docked points and assigned a detention and then waited again as the kid walked off. Finally, when Mack settled herself against the wall, he made his move and stepped forward and around in front of her, moving close to her and waiting till she looked up at him. Finally she did and he smiled lovingly at her. “I did see that honey...” He chuckled and as she kissed his cheek he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him, back into the same embrace he had held her in the last time he had seen her. “It’s always a nice nap when I’m dreaming of you baby.” He kissed the top of her head and then with a smirk added on in a whisper. “You have any idea how hot it is when you’re being all prefect-y and official?”

Mack sighed slightly and buried her face in his chest, breathing in deeply; “Mmmm, Alex, you smell so good.” She wrapped her arms around him and stood close to him, continuing to breathe in his scent. She could tell he had just taken a shower and Mack made a mental note to take one as well before they went to sleep…perhaps not alone. Perhaps. She looked up at him when he whispered about her being hot when she was being official and prefect like, a smirk crossing her face and then a pout; “Gee, only then?” She knew he was joking so before he could use the tone that stated he hadn’t meant it that way and was deeply sorry if he had hurt her, she pulled him into a kiss. Mack wouldn’t deny it, she liked kisses. She loved them, actually. She had since the first time they had kissed in that coffee shop. Granted, their kisses had changed considerably, but Mack still loved them all the same…if not more. Plus, there were some new kisses added onto the old ones. This particular kiss was just a kiss. Not soft, but not firm either, not eager but not completely timid. It was just… a kiss. Mack connected a quicker kiss to that first one and then pulled back. Her hands had slid up his chest to his neck and she was now stroking his cheeks with her thumbs, “I love you, Alexander Promise.” She whispered as she looked him in the eye and then kissed his forehead.
Her lips lingered on his forehead for a bit before she trailed kisses down the bridge of his nose to his lips, where she kissed him again. There was just something about kissing him that was so addicting…it made her whole. It was as if she was making up for the years that she hadn’t had any Alex kisses. Mack broke the kiss again and smiled at him lovingly, “C’mon, let’s get inside and get ready for bed, or at least….climb into bed. I’m not so tired just yet…I think tonight’s a talking night.” She looked at him and then reached and took his hand, linking their fingers, before leading the way down the corridor to their classroom/temporary bedroom. She opened the door and instantly pulled out her wand – shoving all the desks to one side like she always did. Alex had closed the door behind him and now she turned to him and closed the gap. Smiling at him, she reached into his pocket and searched for what she was looking for and then pulled it out with a flourish. It was a miniature bed. See, when they had started the term – they had both decided that they couldn’t sleep in opposite sides of the castle. And as long as they didn’t get caught (which they most likely wouldn’t with how many locks and such they put on the door or what have you), they figured it would be safe to sleep in the same room. Honestly, they couldn’t be the first people to think of it.
Setting the bed on the floor, Mack stepped away into Alex, leaning against him as she waved her wand, “Engorgio.” The bed grew to the actual size and she smiled at the sight of it. It was just a bed. Nothing fancy. They wouldn’t need anything fancy…though something with curtains might be nice. Mack smiled to herself and then tucked her wand away before turning to her boyfriend. She admired him and without really thinking about it, reached her hand up to run her fingers through his hair. She loved doing that. She just loved the feeling of his hair in her hand or both hands, depended upon the occasion. In this moment, she just wanted to admire him. She had to choose her words carefully, though, because one adjective would send them in a place that would take away the rest of her energy; “You’re so handsome, you know.” She smiled lovingly at him and stroked his cheek as she set her shoulder bag on the floor.

Oh it was so like Mack to start off their time together with something like ‘mmmm’. Mackenzie was just like that. Then again, Alex was like that too. Honestly they were like that together. They just said things like that, and meant them of course, constantly. On a regular basis. There was no such thing as a time and place, because between them there it was always the time and place. Though, it could be argued that not all places were the right place. Sometimes when you’re standing in the middle of the great hall it’s not exactly the best place to...no, not the best place. And quite an uncomfortable place for the two of them if you really thought about. But never mind, moving on. Well, moving back kind of. Just to the way Alex and Mack always were to each other. To be blatant, they both wanted each other. In a loving way as well as other ways. They both wanted to be with each other and that was quite obvious. When you got them together there was absolutely nothing else and no one else in the world. When you tried to tear them apart? It was like the world was falling apart. They didn’t do well separated, but together? They were amazing.
Alex looked down at her sadly when she asked him if he only thought she was hot when she was being official. He was always saying things without fully thinking them through and occasionally he had actually said something that he hadn’t exactly meant a certain way but had come out wrong and he was always apologizing for things like that. He opened his mouth to apologize verbally, and that of course played a slight role when Mack kissed him. He couldn’t help himself but being a bit eager, I mean, he hadn’t kissed her in at least an hour. He kissed her back again when she added a shorter kiss to the first, and when she pulled back he left his eyes closed, enjoying her touch. Alex loved her touch, I mean, he loved everything about her but he just...he just had to admire how much her touch did to him. Since the first time she had grabbed his hand he had felt it, the electricity almost that flowed between them. It was brilliant. Wonderful. Nearly the same feeling he got when they kissed but it was still slightly different in its own way. “I love you too Mackenzie Holden.” He whispered back and then grinned and opened his eyes as she looked him in the eye and then kissed his forehead. He enjoyed himself as her kissed trailed down his nose to his lips and then he kissed her back happily again. He smiled back lovingly at her as she did and then squeezed her hand and nodded contentedly as she took his hand, linked their fingers, and then told her they were heading off for bed. “A talking night...” He smiled lovingly at her more, “someone worn out?” He was only kidding of course, again, and so he shook his head and kissed her cheek. “I love our talking nights. Just as much as I love all of our other nights.” In fact, he might have even loved them more because talking to Mack was something he had always loved. Talking to her was one of those things that he could do all hours of the day, then again if you got technical, he could say that about her in general, but he’d need a nap if that was the case. Anyways, he loved to talk to her, and so the idea of spending a comfortable night talking was wonderful.
Alex smiled brightly again and shut the door behind them as he watched Mack push the desks aside and then he smiled even brighter when she turned around and closed the gap. He was expecting another kiss, but instead he got a hand in his pocket. He wouldn’t deny he was a bit caught of guard, and his eyes might have widened just a bit, there’s even a possibility his jaw dropped...but when he realized she was just searching for the bed he had in his pants and not so much anything else, he just went back to a calm smile. They had decided that it would probably be a wise decision for Alex to minimize his bed instead of Mack. I mean...girls are far more observant then guys, and even if they did notice a bed and a roommate were gone, none of Alex’s roommates would care too much. Alex smiled and let his hands rest of Mack’s waist as she made the bed return to its normal size and then sighed happily as she turned around and looked at him, running her fingers through his hair. If there was one thing he had gotten quite accustomed to (one thing that was a bit more innocent then other things) was her having her hands in his hair (then again in some cases it wasn’t so innocent). He let his eyes close as she played with his hair and spoke to him. He could tell she was trying to keep things relatively calm and so he did his best to follow. “I know you think I’m handsome. That count?” He smiled and looked at her, knowing she would argue with him. He actually said a lot of these things on purpose, just to hear her argue with him about how she felt about him. He loved hearing those sorts of things.

“Worn out...” Mack smirked, “Yeah, you could say that, I suppose.” Mack wasn’t worn out...not really worn out. She wasn’t ever too worn out, she just figured she wanted to talk tonight because of how bad of a mood she had been in only moments before. Once Mack was put into that bad of a mood it was rather easy to get her back into that mood, though Alex had had yet to do such a thing and Mack was quite grateful. She didn’t like being in a bad mood toward him and hoped she would never have to. So, anyway, tonight she felt like it was a talking night, not because she was worn out; but because she just...didn’t want her mood to slip into a bad one in the middle of...well, you get the gist. She didn’t explain this to Alex, though, because she knew it really didn’t matter. They were going to talk tonight and they both understood that and they both liked the idea. It was easy to agree on something with Alex. Either she went along with everything he said or he went along with everything she said. Sometimes, they agreed on the same thing together...without having to talk about it or discuss through it. It was one of the reasons why Mack believed Alex was more than just her boyfriend; he was her soul mate. He really was and Mack loved that. She loved that she had a soul mate. She never thought something like that could happen to her. Ever.
By now the door had been opened and closed behind them and Mack had stuck her hand in Alex’s pocket to get out the shrunken bed. She had noticed the widening of his eyes and the dropping of his jaw, too, but she only smirked at that. She knew she would get a reaction like that, or she would have known if she had thought about her actions beforehand. She really hadn’t been thinking, she had just done; but now that she had seen the reaction he had given her...she was certain she would do things without thinking a lot more. Anyway, she had withdrawn the bed and enlarged it in the usual spot before turning to Alex with a small smile on her face. She set her book bag on the floor by their feet and had complimented him now. The smile dimmed a little when Alex asked if it counted if he knew that she thought he was handsome. Mack knew he only said that (some of the time) because he liked to hear her argue with him about it, but she knew that sometimes he just didn’t believe it. She looked at him sadly and ran her thumb over his lips lovingly, “Alexander Promise you are the best looking guy I know. You are the only guy I’ve ever seen in my life that makes my heart pound and my body respond in other...ways...” She eyed him seriously, “Trust me on this, you are handsome and everything else that entails...” Mack didn’t like when he turned down her compliments like that. Well, he wasn’t really turning down her compliment – but she still didn’t like it. She knew she was being hypocritical because she did the same thing when he complimented her, but she thought she had been getting better.
She leaned a bit and kissed his forehead before moving to get ready for bed. Still going over what she had said in her mind about him being the best looking guy she knew. It had been true, right from the start. From the first time she had met him she had thought so. She had this distinct memory of thinking something about vocabulary and him sitting next to her. It was hard to remember exactly what she had said, only because it seemed so long ago. You would think that because she had gone over the conversation so much in her head that she would be able to recite how things went and what emotions she had been feeling and what she had been thinking; but since she and Alex had gotten together, the older memories had kind of dimmed... unfortunately. A few moments after Mack had kissed his forehead, they were settled comfortably in the bed, her head on his chest and him running his fingers through her hair. She was silent, more silent than usual and the silence was engulfing them before she finally spoke up; “You remember the first time we met? How you held my hand after I had let go because of the trolley coming?” Her voice was soft and she looked up at him, her cheek on her hand which was in turn on his chest. “And all I had said was thank you or something along those lines?” she waited for him to reply, but before he could she continued anyway; “Even then you had an effect on me. I remember thinking about how cute you were or hot or good looking...So I’m not just saying things, Alex, I mean them..”

Alex had to let out a chuckle at Mack’s reply. Of course she wasn’t worn out in that sense, was Mack ever worn out? No, not really. Normally Mack could go all day. And so could Alex, I mean, after a break...but anyways. Alex could tell that Mack had had a stressful evening. He had no doubt class was probably bad, and he knew how she felt about first years with attitudes, so he didn’t blame her for being a bit tense. He was sure though that just some calm time would work that out of her, a nice peaceful evening of loving conversation could work wonders. If there was one major special thing (not to say everything wasn’t special) about Alex and Mack’s relationship, it was their ability to talk. They could always talk, and both of them knew it. They had been able to talk since the first time they had met. Alex and Mack could talk about anything, and they often did. They spent hours just talking (believe it or not they did do more than just...oh you know) about all sorts of things. They could jump from subject to subject without any problems. The two of them had talked about their familes, their pasts, their previous relationships even (though it had caused a bit of growling on Alex’s part when Mack had discussed her last not-even-relationship) and they always found new things to talk about. They could even backtrack and talk about the same things over and over and still enjoy the conversation. It was that amazing.
When Mack had successfully resized their bed, and then proceeded to complimenting Alex, he had in his turn half denied her compliment. Not at all meaning to upset her, but somehow or another he had done something she didn’t approve of. And in this case, he was happy. He absolutely loved that she thought he was attractive. The same way he loved the fact that she thought he was amazing, and smart and funny. The same way he loved that she loved him. It was things like that that made them work so well together. The feelings were mutual. And sometimes in relationships, a couple finds that their only attracted to each other’s personalities and not so much their looks, or the other way around, and in Alex’s view that didn’t work. You had to be totally in love with everything about the other person to completely understand how great love could be. Alex knew he understood how great love was and could be. He was in love. He had love. He would never give it up. If there was one thing Alex was sure of it was the fact that someday he would marry Mackenzie Holden, start a family with her, and spend the rest of eternity with her. That was the only sure thing in his life. He didn’t really care what else happened, as long as he had her.
Alex smiled brightly when Mack told him how she thought he was the best looking guy she knew, and of course if he was in a more playful mood he would have suggested that maybe she just needed to know more guys, but honestly, all he wanted now was to listen to her compliment him and love her for it. She was so good at complimenting him and making him feel great about himself. And yeah that might have been a bit selfish, but it felt good and he wouldn’t deny he liked to feel good. Everyone needed to feel good about themselves. He sighed happily and nodded as she told him to trust her on it, and he did. He trusted her on it. He believed her and for that night he knew he’d feel on top of the world. With a girl like her loving him like that, how could he not? The two of them got settled in bed and cuddled up close as usual, Alex wrapping his arms around her and Mack resting her head on his chest. It was probably one of their favorite ways to sleep. I mean...if they had a choice in which way they fell asleep and didn’t just pass out on each other. Alex had his eyes closed as he ran his fingers through Mack’s hair, breathing slowly, just thinking about how great it was to be with her, when Mack spoke and then looked up at him. Of course he remember the first time they met, and so he nodded, smiling lovingly at her. He went to respond when she continued, her words only brightening his smile. “It was ‘thanks’ if I remember right...and did you really think that even then? Because I know that all I was thinking about was how beautiful you were...and how I wanted to hold your hand...and how I wanted to kiss your cheek, and your forehead, and your lips...and...to be honest...” Alex chuckled, “your neck.” He sighed happily and moved his free arm up to rest his head on it. “I remember how you took your hand away from me to go to the trolley? Remember? I freaked out and thought you didn’t want to hold my hand anymore.”

Mack closed her eyes as she cuddled close to Alex, her breathing matching his like it normally did. She didn’t know how she had gotten into the habit of breathing with him, but she could remember when the first time she had done it was. Mack had, unfortunately, worked herself into a frenzy thinking about not so good things and Alex had held her head to his chest as he took deep breaths. As his chest had risen and fallen rhythmically, Mack had started to breathe with him to calm her shuddering breaths. Afterward, Mack had just fallen asleep breathing with him and ever since then she had done it – even when they just passed out on each other. Mack found she didn’t sleep right if she didn’t fall asleep breathing with Alex – sometimes she wondered if he noticed. Regardless, her breathing matched his immediately after they laid down. She shrugged her face against his chest and listened to him talk about how much he had wanted to kiss her neck even then, with a smile. “Even then you were harbouring sexual attraction to me, eh? Dirty boy.” She was most definitely teasing him. Not sexually, because Mack wasn’t a sexual tease; she just couldn’t be one. She wanted it just as much as he did.
She looked up at him as he asked her if she remembered what he was talking about and nodded after a beat of silence, “Yeah, I remember. I hadn’t wanted to yank my hand away from yours, but I didn’t know if it was normal for us to be holding hands like that after we had just met, you know?” She looked thoughtful a moment and then buried her face against his chest again, trying to muddle through her thoughts. It was always difficult to get her thoughts straight when she was so exhausted. Somehow or another, she worked through her thoughts and mumbled, “Did you think we’d be here? Like this? Together and oh so sexual?” The question wasn’t a regretful or sad one, actually it was quite honest because she really didn’t think they would be where they are now. She might’ve hoped for a relationship, but she hadn’t thought she’d get it. And she most definitely didn’t think they’d be as sexual as they were. Then again, Mack really didn’t think she’d be that sexual. She wasn’t complaining, though.
Mack stifled a yawn as she snuggled again. She couldn’t believe how tired she was. Mack hated when she was exhausted and he wasn’t, but then again – that rarely ever happened At this particular moment, though, she wasn’t quite sure if he was tired or not because, well, he wasn’t yawning, was he? Not like she was anyway. Mack was yawning like crazy and she was getting quite frustrated with herself. She really wanted to stay awake to talk to him or to perhaps do something more. She had to get over the lethargy that was overcoming her. That would be difficult, Mack knew, but she could do it – she was certain. She’d just have to take a few moments and then she’d be awake again, or at least awake enough. Awake either enough to continue talking or whatever she felt like doing.

Alex closed his eyes and smiled softly as Mack’s breathing matched his. He moved a hand to play with her hair like he did every night, breathing slowly and listening closely as she breathed. If there was one thing that could put Alex to sleep in seconds it was to listen to Mack’s breathing. He always seemed to doze off just listening to her. Whether she be singing him to sleep, humming him, or just breathing. Mack could put him to sleep in no time. Sometimes she really didn’t even have to do anything...ok well that was a lie. She always did something, it just might have been more of a physical something and less of an audible something. But no matter, whether it was a noise or other, Mack could make Alex sleep. It was good though, because she could get him into a good night’s sleep and by morning he’d be well rested, even if they had stayed up half the night; which they did often enough. They occasionally told each other that they needed to go to sleep earlier on school nights, but if you think that happened often you were quite mistaken.
Alex listened to Mack, and then relayed his own memories to her and smiled as she commented on it. “Yeah yeah, so I want you. I always want you.” Alex grinned and then looked down at her. “But I know for a fact you want me too.” There wasn’t a single time that Alex wanted Mack, that she didn’t want him back. Sure, there were sometimes, like earlier that day, when they just couldn’t have each other, but nonetheless they still wanted each other. Alex closed his eyes again and laid his head back as Mack nodded on his chest and told him that she hadn’t been sure if they were supposed to hold hands way back then. Alex had thought about that often enough. Had they been right at the beginning? And over time he had decided that it didn’t matter. They had done what they felt needed to be done and it had worked out for the best. They had both enjoyed it and they didn’t regret it so what was the problem? Alex sighed happily as Mack buried her face in his chest and then when she asked him another question, he took a few minutes before answering.
“Honestly? Not really.” He opened his eyes and looked up at the ceiling, but not in sad way, just a thoughtful one. “I most definitely wanted to be with you though. I wanted to be in love with you so bad. Since the moment I met you I knew you were the one I wanted...needed...to be in love with. I knew you were it for me.” Alex looked down at Mack again. “As far as the sexual part? I had no idea. I never had a clue I’d be so sexual. But...it’s with you...and that just...makes it...different.” He smiled lovingly at her and ran his fingers through her hair slowly. “Sexual with you is more than sexual Mackenzie. It’s deeper then what other couples have. Sexual with you is a feeling that’s so far past physical it’s shocking. Sexual with you is...it’s...” Alex looked thoughtful. “Spiritual? Is that the word I’m thinking of? I just mean that it means so much more then just physical. It’s emotional, mental, and spiritual. All at the same time. The feelings?” Alex smiled again. “They go down to my soul.”
Alex watched as Mack stifled a yawn, that action bringing about a yawn from him. Yeah he was tired, but her tired was making him tired too. Alex’s mood was dependent on Mack’s mood. But he didn’t mind that she was tired. Not at all. All he wanted was her to be happy, and if going to bed meant she was happy, that was just fine by him. He knew the second she fell asleep he would too. So basically, in Alex’s world, whatever happened happened. And by that I mean, whatever Mack did, he did.

Mack snickered, “Maybe I do want you, but still…I don’t think I wanted you to that extent the first moment I met you. The second time when you persuaded me to sleep in your bed with you, maybe, but not the first time on the train.” She smiled at the memory of forcing herself to think something innocent while she was around him. It was strange to think that even then Alex had been having an effect on her that other people hadn’t ever had. Mack had never been this way before Alex, she never was sexual, and she never thought about sex or how hot someone was or what have you because well, honestly, Mack was far too busy with her work. Alex was the first person to make her think outside the little box that she normally thought in and she loved it. She loved that Alex could make her think things she normally wouldn’t think. He had really changed her and the change was for the good, too. Mack made a mental note to mention this to him when she wasn’t so tired or something because she knew he would appreciate hearing it. She loved telling him things that made him look at her lovingly, cradle her face in his hands, and kiss her slowly; and this was most definitely one of those things.
They sat in silence for a little bit and then Alex answered her question as she snuggled against him, stifling another yawn. What he was saying made perfect sense to Mack because she felt the same way. She understood what he was saying, but then again it wasn’t often that she didn’t understand what Alex was saying. They were on the same wavelength, they understood each other a lot better than they could understand anyone else. Mack didn’t know why they could, but they did and she didn’t take it for granted in the least. Alex was something that Mack never took for granted. Everything he did or said or anything of the sort were things that Mack had lived without before and she honestly could say she would never have to live without it ever again. Alex was something she would not live without. Now that he was in her life, she would never let him go. She did plan on getting married to him, even if they hadn’t even discussed it yet. She made another mental note to bring it up sometime, even though that one would be a much more in depth talk, something they both would have to sit down and think through.
“I know what you mean. It’s so much more than what it is for other people, at even such a young age for us, you know? Some couples don’t get this connection until they’re…well…quite a few years older and the fact remains that we’ve found each other and we’ve made that connection that most people don’t get to make.” Mack’s tone of voice was quiet as she spoke and her eyes were closed. The fatigue was slowly wearing her down and she doubted she’d be in the mood to do much of anything tonight. Alex wouldn’t mind, Mack knew, but she still felt that she was disappointing someone – be it herself or Alex (which it was most unlikely to be him). Another yawn issued from her and she finally gave into her tiredness, “Alex, do you mind if we go to sleep now? I’m exhausted and I need some sleep. No morning classes for me tomorrow, though, so we’ll be able to sleep in until around three…” Even as she spoke, she was trailing into sleep like she normally did. There were often times when Mack fell asleep in the middle of a sentence, and she was trying as hard as she could to make sure that didn’t happen this time.

Alex smiled and chuckled sleepily as Mack told him that she hadn’t wanted him to the sexual extent the first time she met him, the second time she slept in his bed however had been different. To be quite honest, the really serious sexual desires hadn’t started up for Alex until later as well. At first it had still been relatively innocent. That had changed quickly though. Mack had been the first girl that Alex had every really thought sexually about. I mean, as a boy it does occasionally happen, but it’s not something you can really help. Sexual thoughts happened. But when thinking about another person completely swallows up your day, that was different. That’s how it was with Mack. Sure, not all those thoughts were sexual (though a large majority of them were) but they were still all thoughts relating to Mack in one way or another. Mackenzie Holden had really become Alex’s whole world, there was no denying that. He knew she was everything to him, and he knew she was it for him. She was all he’d ever need or want and that was the most amazing feeling ever.
As Alex explained his views on his and Mack’s relationship, he played with her hair, running his fingers through it fondly. The first time he had held her had been the first night they were dating. It was definitely one of his favorite memories. They hadn’t been sexual that night; they’d just cuddled and fallen asleep together. It had been perfect. They had slept together without sleeping together if you know what I mean, and it had still been just as blissful. Just to be able to hold Mack in his arms and know that she was his was wonderful. It always would be wonderful, for as long as he had her. And he knew that would be a very long time. If not forever. He hadn’t talked to Mack about marriage yet, but he knew they’d talk about it eventually. It was an unspoken fact between them that neither ever wanted to be without each other. That they needed each other and each other alone. That no one could complete them like the other did. They were perfect for each other, soul mates, made for each other. That was the truth. It was just assumed by both of them no doubt that they would marry someday, but soon they would talk about it. Soon.
Alex smiled as Mack spoke, just reiterating the fact that they were perfect for each other. They always understood each other, and if they didn’t? They always tried to. They could talk for hours just trying to understand the other’s opinions and they had no problems doing so. Understanding one another was one of the most important things in their relationship. They knew that, they’d talked about it before. Their ability to communicate was what held them together so tightly, it was what made them different then other couples. They were in love, and when you love someone you try as hard as you can to get them. To understand them. You don’t always have to agree with them, but understanding another person’s opinion can only bring you closer to them. Alex yawned as Mack spoke, her soft voice relaxing him into a half sleep even though they were still talking. As much as Alex hated saying goodnight, he still knew that the two of them needed sleep. Alex smiled softly listening as Mack asked if they could sleep, her obviously already dozing off. He nodded slightly and pulled the blankets up around them, tucking them in and leaning down to kiss the top of her head. “Of course darling. Sleep tight ok? I love you Mackenzie.” Alex knew that trying to hold out the conversation would only result in him being fallen asleep on, and as cute as that was, Alex liked to end their nights with I love you’s and good night’s.
