Summer break, well it came, finally. Not that the year was bad, of course, but it was always nice to go home. Wasn’t the same without Aaron, though. All the pets and her parents were there but it just… wasn’t her family. Was nice to sleep in her own bed. Her parents were driving her up the wall, though, so Lenora felt justified in leaving early one morning with a note on the kitchen table saying she would be home for dinner.
What to do with then day, then? Some muggle shopping would be novel, but not entirely practical. Sure Lenora was only half-blood but she felt like her entire life was in the magical world, now she was entering her seventh year at Hogwarts. Especially now she had her apparition licence and could do magic outside school. Turning seventeen was the best thing that ever happened to her. It’s not like Lenora even knew muggle music anymore, though, after six years spent at Hogwarts.
In the end Lenora decided that a day spent down in Diagon Alley was the best idea, especially because she could always pop out onto Charring Cross Road if the mood struck her. Within moments of setting down the note on the table Lenora was standing in the Leaky Cauldron. Looking around Lenora saw people where already there, while it wasn’t busy. Looked mostly like people who were staying in the rooms there eating breakfast, not many shoppers yet. Taking her cue Lenora sat down at a table and waited for someone to serve her.

Ashley rounded the street corner quickly, dodging out of the way as a silver Volvo turned the corner. The driver looked out the window to stare at Ashley before returning their attention back on the road. It would seem a bit odd for one person to be walking three dogs at once. Two dogs wouldn’t be much, but one extra? Though there were people who walked six dogs at once, but it was their job. Ashley didn’t mind walking all her dogs at once even though her dad always told her to take one dog out at a time just in case something happened. Her dogs were well behaved and wouldn’t try anything stupid like running out onto the street in front of a moving car. Smiling, Ashley looked down at her dogs; all three tails wagging wildly, with tongues hanging out almost to the ground from the hot summer day. It did seem warm outside, even for such early in the morning. Wiping a bead of sweat the formed on her forehead, Ashley rounded another street corner, walking down the long rows of houses. Nothing was going to stop her from being in a good mood. She didn’t have to work any shifts at all that day. Lately Ashley hadn’t had the opportunity to take her dogs out on long walks in the morning, or even do her usual jog. Her parents always put her on the morning shift right as the restaurant opened. It wasn’t too bad since the only morning customers who came in just stopped by to grab a cup of coffee.
Jumping up the large steps to the porch of the house, Ashley took out the spare key from its hiding spot. With a click, the front door unlocked and all three dogs were running inside into the cool house, leashing lugging out from behind them. Shaking her head, Ashley closed the door and was about to lock it when she heard a loud breaking sound followed by a shrill. Sighing, Ashley quickly locked the door as she hurried into the kitchen. Elina was standing over the broken plate with three dogs eating the pancakes the scattered on the ground. “Ashley!” she moaned looking at her sister with clear look of annoyance in her eyes. Ashley bit the bottom of her lip to stop herself from laughing. “This isn’t funny Ash! I have at least a thousand arraigns to run today!” Ashley didn’t say anything as she grabbed a glass from the cabinets, filling it with water. “I’ll clean it up, but you have to remember to keep your plates off of the edge of the counter.” Taking a long gulp of cold water she watched as her sister grabbed her purse and keys from the kitchen table. “Yes…you’re cleaning this mess up.” Elina stopped before saying more, but Ashley knew she was thinking. Ashley knew her older sister couldn’t wait to move in with Eliah in Italy after their wedding.
It didn’t too long for Ashley to clean the mess up in the kitchen and take a shower. She was wearing one her favorite Quidditch team shirts with a pair of jean shorts walking the streets of crowded Diagon Alley. What better way to spend your free day than in Diagon Alley. Ashley needed to get a few things and didn’t really feel like making herself something to eat at home. Noticing a familiar face sitting at an outdoor seating area, Ashley grinned as she waved and called out her friend’s names, “Lenora!” Quickly making her way through the crowds, Ashley finally made it to Lenora’s table engulfing her best friend into a hug. “How has your summer been so far?” Ashley asked as she took a seat at the other end of the small table. She had been trying to reach her best friend for a while but Lenora didn’t seem to respond back to her messages.
