Sierra tossed her bag on her bed with a loud sigh. "I hate homework!" she squealed as she crossed her arms across her chest and fell back onto the bed. She let out a small yelp as she felt her head his something solid, where her pillow should have been. Angry at first, she turned to see that there was a package laying there. It was wrapped in red paper, and there was a small slip of paper tied to it. "To Sierra. Love Mom and Dad," she read aloud. Her face lit up instantly. It must have been from their latest trip. Where were they now? France? Italy? They travelled so much that Sierra lost track. It didn't matter though as she ripped into the package.
Underneath the paper, Sierra found a small white box. Too small for clothes, but perfect for jewelery, she thought, as she opened it up excitedly. Inside was a white gold linked chain. At the bottom dangled a beautiful black gemstone. She happily pulled the necklace from its package and held it to her neck while running over to her mirror. Her smile widened as she eyed the magnificent piece of jewelery. Now, she just had to show it off.
Quickly, Sierra pulled off her class robes and pulled a jean-jacket over top of her white t-shirt. She slipped on her black shoes, and tied her hair up to make it easier to see the necklace. With one last glance in the mirror, she walked out of her room and through the dungeons to the main hall. All the while, she seareched for someone to show off her new gift to.
As she walked happily down the halls, she heard some footsteps from around the next corner. Excited, she rushed to see who it was. "Oh, hey Danielle," she said to a girl she recognized from her year. She was a Gryff, Sierra remembered, and the two had never really talked before. But that didn't matter now. Sierra just wanted someone to see her necklace. "What do you think?" she asked, as she smiled brightly and did a little turn like the models did. "Don't you wish you could have such a beautiful necklace?" she asked, almost arrogantly.
