Dear Mum and Dad,

Hi. I hope everything at home is alright. Must be nice having me out of the house so you two can have some privacy and a bit more free time. Anyway, Im sending this owl because I would like it if you guys could send me some of my books. It doesn't matter which ones just dont send too many. Five or six should be enough.

I met two people today, and I believe I can state that they are now friends. Its a boy, who's name is Skyler, and a girl, who's name is Elizabeth. Skyler is in Ravenclaw too, but Elizabeth is in Hufflepuff which is really weird because it doesn't feel like she should be. Does the Sorting Hat make mistakes sometimes as far as placement goes?

Anyway, both of them are really great. Ive had potions so far, and the professor is completely mental, but other than that I quite enjoyed it. We made a Shrinking Solution, and mine turned out great.'

Well, I miss you both, and cant wait until the Holidays!

Dear Anu,

We miss you terribly, and cant wait to see you on Christmas Holiday! Its great to hear your making friends. I told you to just relax and be yourself and it worked (mummy knows best!). As far as the Sorting Hat making mistakes, Im not sure. Ive never heard of such an occurence, but I really couldn't give you an answer.

I wasn't sure what books your friend would like, so I sent three with the owl you sent us, and I sent another two owls carrying a parcel with ten books in it. Just send back the ones you won't use, and I'll put them back in your room. Your father is still at work. I came home a bit early to get some rest. Somone keeps sending the office cursed parchments that make it storm inside the building. We've been having a time finding out who the parchments are from, but we'll catch them eventually, so don't worry.

Well, I really should get supper started before your father gets home. Im really tired and in no fit state to even be writing this letter, let alone cook. Thank Merlin for Magic. Honestly I don't know how Muggles do it. I'll have him write you tomorrow or before the week is out if he has the time. I know he's dying to speak to you about something. He says it's between the two of you. It better not be what I think it is, or he's in some major trouble.

Dear Anu,

Hello! I read your letter that you sent, and I am very pleased that you are making new friends (I told you not to worry!). Its great to hear that your getting on well in your classes and that everythings going well. As your mother surely mentioned in her last letter, I wanted to talk to you about something, and I'm sure you know what that something is. Have you been practicing the spells I've taught you?

Aah, I remember it like yesterday. Your mother walking in on us to find you brandishing my wand at the table, and me shouting instructions at you. She would be in an awful state to find out that I still gave you lessons after that. Well, now that you have your own wand, I would imagine the spells work a lot better for you?

Anyway, can't wait until you come home for the Holiday's! I have a big surprise for you and your Ravenclaw friend. Skeeter, I believe you said his name was? Anyway, you'll love it!

I better be off, and quit my rambling. Your mother and I just got home from work, and I told myself I'd write you no matter what.

P.S. Your mum's been going on about what I did to Jeremy's eyes. Between you and me, I may have put a little incantation on him. But it's nothing serious. The charm only acts up at certain times. He still a normal cat. I hope.

Dear Mum,

Thanks for the books! You didn't have to send so many, but I loved it. It felt good to read some of my old books. I'm afraid its made me a bit homesick, but Im okay. I'm sure Elizabeth will love to read them all.

Jeremy hasn't really been acting unusual or anything. He's been as normal a cat as any. Probably a little too well behaved, but I can't imagine that would be a cause for complain.

I'm afraid I can't tell you what Dad wanted to talk to me about. It's kind of between us. Don't feel bad though. We have our little secrets too, remember? Well, the Holidays are almost here and I can't wait to see you both. I really miss you guys. Dad also said he got something for me and Skyler? I can't imagine what that must be.

Dear Dad,

I miss you so much! I have been practicing some of the spells you taught me, and most of them work. I'm still having a bit of trouble with the vanishing charm, but I'm getting there I suppose.

I can't wait to see what you've gotten for me and Skyler, not Skeeter, by the way. I've thought of everything, but still can't imagine what you got. I suppose I should wan't to be surprised, so I'll stop trying to guess.

I didn't tell mom about you teaching me spells. It was a little bothersome though. I feel like I'm lying to her, but then again, there's all types of stuff we keep from you, so I guess it's harmless. I'll see you guys soon!
