The sky was dark and cloudy outside. And it seemed like forever since she had went outside. The only reason she was here in the first place was that when running near the lakeside with some friends she had tripped and fell into the lake, not being able to swim, she had felt her head bob under, and could hear the faint cries of students, her robes pulled her down, as she struggled to stay up, but no matter the effort she had slid down and down. And she thought she would die, but gradually arms pulled her out of the water and to shore. She wasn't sure who it was, but it must have been someone strong, because next thing she new it was morning and she was in the hospital wing. After inquiring the matron without reasonable answers she went back to sleep.

Carson sighed as he roamed around the grounds. Everything had been so odd lately. Ezzie was barely around, always avoiding her peers and the students around her. She and Casey seemed to be in some sort of argument, but no one would tell him what was going on. Every time Casey and Ezzie were around each other, they exchanged those same nervous glances and acted like nothing had happened. Then one of them would dissolve away from the group and Carson would be left with the other. He didn’t understand what was going on with those two. Carson looked up at the sky, where the sun was starting to set. Just the other night, Carson had busted a couple of Slytherins by the Hogwarts kitchens. Tonight, he was hoping to bust someone sneaking out onto the grounds late at night. Carson didn’t know what was so enjoyable about catching people in the act, but he did get some kind of high off catching some sneaky Slytherin or a cheeky Gryffindor. Carson gave the clouds a sad look and turned his gaze away, desperate to think about something other than Ethan. God, Carson missed his best friend. Carson wondered what it would be like in Ethan’s wacky version of heaven. Carson had always thought each person had their own idea of what heaven was, and when they died; their imaginations would come true in their very own dream world. It’s probably crawling with seventeen year old babes. Carson mused with a small quiet chuckle. Even though Carson knew Ethan was happy in that twisted heaven of his, he wished his friend was back down here on earth. Ever since Ethan died, Carson felt like a side of his masculinity had died along with him. With Ethan, Carson had been able to hang out and talk about guy stuff with him. Carson hadn’t really had many close friends other than Ethan who were boys. Even before he met Ethan, Carson used to hang out with a girl named Angel Sheridan. Angel was in Sweden now, training hard for the Winter Olympics that would take place in the coming years. He couldn’t wait to see her perform, but in the meantime, he had to stay here at Hogwarts with Casey and Ezzie. Don’t get me wrong now, Carson loved his girlfriend Casey and their friend Ezzie, but sometimes, Carson just missed being one of the guys. The sound of soft footsteps prickled Carson’s ears and he swerved around in mid-thought. He was about to yell “Gotcha!”, but then he saw the girl slip and fall straight under water. Carson rushed over to the waterside and reached his hand out for her to grab. She didn’t seem to be responding. He reached deeper and eventually grabbed her arm. He pulled the small girl out of the water. She was breathing, but she didn’t seem to be conscious. He carried her in his arms back up to the school. He rushed the girl into the hospital wing where Madame Pomfrey admitted her and rushed Carson off, telling him he could come back in the morning if he wished. For now though, the girl needed some rest. Carson sighed and walked back to his common room. He hoped she was okay. Carson was just glad he had arrived in time to save her. If Carson hadn’t been there when he was, she might not have made it to the hospital wing. And with that thought in mind, Carson fell sound asleep. ***** The next morning, Carson returned to the hospital wing. “So how is she?” Carson asked Madame Pomfrey. She gave him a sympathetic smile. “I’m sure the girl will be just fine. She’s still sleeping though. You can go on and visit her.” Carson smiled. “But don’t wake her.” She added sternly. Carson laughed silently and walked in the room where the girl was sleeping. He didn’t know how long he was sitting there, but eventually; her heavy eyelids soon fluttered open. Carson sat up in his chair.

Emmily looked up, it was finally morning, and time for something to eat. As she looked aroung the room she saw a boy staring at her, in fear she jumped back in her bed and yanked the covers up to her chin. Whats's your name? She quivered. He looked at her and said Carson.... Carson McGreggor. She relaxed abit, she'd heard about him, he was a fifth year.
