“C’mon Gia. Please don’t do this.” Adrina begged as she tried to hand her year old baby daughter over to Aria. Gia continued to wail like she had been doing for the past ten minutes. Adrina bounced Gia very lightly up and down in her arms. She wanted to be mad at Gia for not wanting her mum to leave, but it actually made Adrina feel a bit warm inside. This meant that Gia did miss her when she was gone. But, knowing this also tugged on Adrina’s heart-strings. Only a year and a half left to go. She told herself. This was one of the few things that kept Adrina going. Of course the loving support of her friends did this as well. This included Kael of course. Adrina couldn’t help but like him. He was the total and complete opposite of Danny and yet he was everything that Adrina wanted in a guy. What more could she ask for? Adrina focused her attention back on her crying baby. “Gia, I’ll be back in a few days I promise.” The school gave her some time off every now and then to be with her baby, but it still wasn’t enough. Adrina knew that Gia really couldn’t understand a word Adrina was saying, but in a way, Gia understood. She continued to cry and Adrina finally gave in and sat down on the couch. Aria laughed as she made her way into the kitchen for a snack. Adrina shook her head. “Precious little girl.” She said lightly. Gia finally grinned.
“Adrina!” Aria called twenty-minutes later from her room. “Shh!” Adrina held her finger to her mouth as Aria entered the room. “She’s asleep.” Adrina said eyeing the sleeping brunette in her arms. Aria smiled. “Finally.” She whispered. Adrina then stood up and gently handed Gia to Aria. “I’ll be back in a few days.” Adrina told her cousin. “Until then, play my voice on the recorder.” Gia was getting older and older every day and with this came something new. Now Gia constantly cried when Adrina tried to leave her. So, Adrina recorded her voice on this muggle device. Every time she came back to Hogsmeade, she put a new recording on the recorder for Gia. True, it wasn’t as good as the real thing, but it was the best Adrina could do. Aria smiled to her cousin. “Do me a favor.” Aria whispered. “What?” Adrina asked as she took her coat from the coat rack. “Never have another one.” Adrina laughed. “I can’t promise that, now.” Of course Adrina wasn’t planning another baby any time soon. The next time she had a child, it would be done the “proper way”. She wanted to be married so that Gia could have a real dad and she wanted Gia to have siblings. But, this could wait and Adrina was willing to wait for this. After all, she was only sixteen years old.
Adrina eyed the sky as she made her way back to the grounds. It was a was rainy day, but it was only drizzling so she didn’t mind much. Adrina was too busy thinking about Gia to care really. Adrina hated leaving her. She missed her all the time and yet there was very little that she could do about it. Adrina wished that she could just graduate already, but she couldn’t. She still had a year and more to go. At least she had Kael to fall back on. Sure, he had a sister to worry about, but they found time to spend together. They both had people that they both loved whom they had to watch over. The only different was Kael had Lynne to watch over all the time and Gia was always around for Drina to care for. Some people thought Adrina was careless to leave her baby with her cousin all the time, but she did it because of Gia. Adrina needed school so that when she graduated, she could get a good job and support Gia. Yes, Adrina felt like she was missing out of Gia’s life, but she had to do it. Adrina didn’t want Gia to feel like she was different from other kids because she didn’t have anything. Adrina wanted to Gia ever thing she could ever want and she would. Adrina wouldn’t have it any other way.
Soon, the light drizzle turned into a full out thunder storm. Thunder was booming loudly and Adrina felt as if she could be struck by lightening any minute. “Erm…” She had to think of something fast. She couldn’t just stand out in the storm like this. She ran as hard as she could to a huge oak tree. Yea, that was kind of a stupid idea because apparently, lightening will strike a tree first before anything or at least that was something that Adrina had heard. She shook her head. Great. Now what was she supposed to do? Adrina shook her head when she noticed a figure running to her. Wait. Someone else was out in this rain. The rain wasn’t too much better under this tree, but Adrina had no where to go and she wasn’t close enough to the castle to run quickly to. It would at least take fifteen minutes to get to it in this rain and that was too risky. Adrina squinted her eyes and realized that it was a boy running under the tree. She shook her head as he approached her. “Are you crazy?” She asked in her normal manner. Sure, she was also out in this rain and she wasn’t really thinking about what she was saying, but she wasn’t really concerned with it. Adrina shivered and looked to the boy.
