Ezzie sobbed through her hands as she leaned her body against the hard yellow wall. It felt so prickly and scratchy against her skin. The texture of the wall matched almost exactly the way she was feeling inside. She couldn’t believe Ethan had done such a thing. He was cheating on her, even when he promised her he would never do such a thing. How could she think for a second that she actually meant something to him? She was just another trophy to add to his collection, and that was all. How could Ethan stand to have only one trophy on his shelf? It made no sense that Ethan thought of her in that way. Ezzie felt so stupid for thinking that he actually loved her. Who could actually love her? She may have been pretty and famous, but she was no more than just a pretty face to more people. In their eyes (especially Ethan’s) she was nothing. She meant nothing. Ezzie sobbed harder as Casey ran to her side and tried to comfort her. She hugged her tight and told her she was so sorry. What did Casey have to be sorry about? She had done nothing wrong tonight; Ethan was the one to blame. He was the one out until six am after a night scattered with other women. He was the one who had said such cruel things to her when she had done nothing but care for him. Through this entire summer, Ezzie cooked for him, cleaned for him, did anything he asked her to do simply because she loved him. She couldn’t believe this was his idea of repaying her for her troubles. She could have very easily have left for Capri permanently to work on her music full time and never see him again. She had chosen the spilt life though, the life that required her to go to a boarding school for months at a time when she could be out becoming famous. She had done it all for him, and he had done absolutely nothing but cheat. What a lying sack of dung Ethan Jacobs was. She cried harder. Casey asked her if she wanted to go back to Wales with her, and Ezzie couldn’t think of anything else to say but thank you. She really did need to get away.
“Casey, I’d love-I’d love to.” She stammered through her tears. “I really need to be…anywhere but here.” She helped herself up to the wall and opened the door to the suite. She did not even glance at Ethan, who was sitting on the couch by the fireplace looking extremely angry and tired. She knew Ethan would not be able to sleep tonight, and was glad he would receive payment for his harsh treatment toward Ezzie that night.”Where are you going?” Ethan asked coldly. Ezzie hoisted her bag (which was still packed from the trip over to Capri) over her shoulder and looked over at Ethan coldly. “It’s none of your business Ethan. I’m not your girlfriend anymore remember? Although you didn’t really care much when we were going out either did you?” Ezzie turned around and walked into the fireplace with Casey. She removed her bag of floo powder and handed it to Casey. Moments later, Ezzie and Casey were vanishing into green flames, leaving an angry looking Ethan behind in the dust. He didn’t deserve her. Ezzie knew that now.
