“You get the best of both worlds! Chill it out, take it slow, then you rock out the show. You get the best of both worlds! Mix it all together and you know that it’s the best of both worlds!” Cheers and applause echoed off the large concert hall walls. “Thank you guys! You’ve been awesome!” Casey called with her hand with the mic in it in the air. She disappeared behind the stage leaving the crowd following her with their eyes. Casey leaned over and breathed deep as she entered the back stage area. “Alright bud? You were great!” Bradley called to her from a distance. Casey looked off to him wanting to say something, but her mic could still be one. She looked to the sound guy that gave her the thumbs up that the mic was now turned off. She smiled. “Thanks dad!” She called smiling to her father. Bradley nodded. His fake mustache moved a tad. He wore it when Eden preformed. Casey touched the blond wig on her head, but she wasn’t about to remove it. Some of the backstage staff didn’t know her secret and she wasn’t ready to reveal it to someone who would spill it. Casey could still hear the screams from the audience. Casey smiled glad that she had done a good job. She ran over to her dad after peering through the curtains once more. “Bud, that was better than Aunt Pearl and Uncle Earl’s annual Easter Christmas hunt!” Casey laughed at her dad’s usual, insane jokes. “Thanks daddy.” She smiled giving him a hug.
“That was awesome!” A small, blonde hair girl shrieked. Casey smiled, her Eden disguise on. “Thank you. You guys were really awesome.” She said nodding. The girl squealed as Casey sighed a picture of Eden. Eden Sweden. She wrote in her funky print. The girl squealed again and then ran off to a group of her friends. “You doing okay pop star?” A voice asked from behind Casey. She turned. “Yep, I’ll just sign a few more and then we should be off, cool?” She asked Joel smiled a sneaky smile. “No need to hurry Ede..no need at all. Don’t worry about..” “Joel!” Casey called to her brother. “Yes?” He asked placing his hands over his eyes. “You have a date coming don’t you?” She asked her face broken out in a huge smile. “Well, she just wants to meet Ed…I mean you!” He called hoping that no one would notice his hesitation. Casey eyed him secretly saying ‘what are you, crazy?’ with her eyes. He nodded in silence. Casey then put on a huge smile facing her fans. “Hi, Who would you like this made out to?” She asked. “Thanks Ede.” Joel called walking away. “You owe me farm boy!” She joked as he walked away.
“You get the best…!” “Dad, dad!” Casey called in the dressing room. “Yes, bud?” He asked touching his make mustache. “Don’t sing.” She told him smiling. “Oh c’mon bud. Someone has to embarrass you after all.” Casey shook her head. “From pop star to crazy insane father.” She said walking into the changing section of the room. “I hear that!” He called jokingly. Casey quickly slid on an outfit for the road. She couldn’t change out of her Eden disguise yet because fans would be near the limo, but she could at least change out of her stage attire. Casey removed the black rhinestone dress with the diamond accessories. She then pulled on tight fitting dark jeans, an orange sequined tank-top and a pink sequined cover. She slid on the gold jewelry and the gold flip-flops. Casey looked to the mirror rearranging the blond wig a bit before nodding to herself. She then looked closer a bit to her reflection, then walked over to her dad. “What is it bud?” Bradley asked in response to the look on Casey’s face. Casey sighed. “Sometimes dad..” She started speaking softly. “I look in the mirror and all I see is Eden.” Bradley sighed and smiled to her. “Sometimes, you need a break to remember who you really are.” He told her. Casey smiled as her dad smiled.
After getting into the limo and then swapping limos, Casey took of her wig. “Are we going to the apartment?” She asked looking out the dark window to the London city lights. He shook his head. “You’ve been performing non-stop all summer. You deserve a break.” He said nodding. Casey looked surprised for a moment. “I know dad, but do I really have..” But, she couldn’t say anything else. Her dad had already grabbed her hand and they were heading into a different world or so it seemed. Casey opened her eyes smiling into the familiarness which was Newport, Whales. She had spent her entire summer in London performing as Eden. Casey smiled and then looked to her dad. “How long are we back for?” She asked biting her lip dreading the response that she knew she would get. “A couple of days.” Bradley told her knowing that Casey wanted to stay longer. She looked to the ocean, lowering her head. “You know you don’t have to continue this Case.” Casey looked at him abruptly. “I love it dad. I can’t quit. I just need to remember Casey sometimes. But, I do know that..that this is life!” She broke into song. “So hold on tight!” Her dad sang that line. “Now that’s the dad I know. And this is a dream!” Casey and her dad sang through the night on the shores of Newport, Whales. Casey loved being Eden, but sometimes, she just needed to remember who she was and where she came from.
