Ezzie sat at the table and sighed. Today was a big day for her. She was to appear on the Conan O'Brien show today to give them a tell all exclusive about her past, present, and future. The only thing she would leave out is the fact that she was a witch. She would make up some of it of course, she couldn't exactly tell the public her parents tried to drown her because they thought she was evil, and she couldn't tell them she was an illegal immigrant from Cuba, on the run from the Cuban government. She wouldn't reveal the names of her parents, as it might arouse some questions. She let out a heavy sigh as Armando styled her hair. With the tip of his wand, he magically grew her hair out so it fell down to her waist, and removed the highlights so her hair was jet black. With another tap, her hair was perfectly straight, with bangs falling into her face. She was already dressed in a short canary yellow t-shirt with a cute little cartoon blue bird drawn right in the middle. She wore tight blue jeans and black high heeled flip flops that revealed black painted toes. Her make-up consisted of heavy black eyeliner and mascara, foundation, and pink lip gloss. Her face had a light blush that could barely be noticed, but made all the difference. She smiled, and her dimples showed, which according to Armando, was one of her cutest features. She smiled and thanked him as she walked over to the fireplace where Ethan and Mr. Jacobs were waiting.
"Are you ready?" Mr. Jacobs asked her, smiling. Ethan's eyes were wide. She could tell he was loving her outfit. She felt bad for Ethan. With everything going on, they had had barely any time to themselves. Ezzie made a mental note to herself, making sure she would remember to ask him out to a date later in the evening. She sighed yet again and stepped into the fireplace.
"I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Come on, let's go." Ethan grabbed her hand and they stepped into the fireplace. They would be taken into the limo, which had gotten a head start to the studio so they could be in the car when it arrived there. Ethan dropped the powder into the fireplace and spoke their destination loud and clear.
"To the Jacobs Family Limo!" Within seconds, they were traveling through the floo network, hugging eachother tight as they sped past random fireplaces. Soon enough, they landed in the extremely small fireplace in the stretch limo of the Jacobs family.
"Tony, we're here!" Tony the driver nodded as he continued driving. Ezzie looked out the window. They had arrived just in time, for the limo came to a halt right outside the back of the studio. Tony got out from the car and opened the door for Ezzie and Ethan. They walked out and snuck inside through the back entrance. Ezzie could have sworn she saw a camera flash somewhere near the bushes, but brushed it off and walked inside. There she was met by none other than Conan O'Brien.
"Ezzie! Ethan! How great to see you two! You came just in time, Luci here is just going to touch up your make-up, and then we-re on in five minutes time." Ezzie smiled timidly and allowed the strange woman to fix her slightly smudged mascara and eyeliner. She then walked onto the set leaving Ethan behind backstage. He gave her an encouraging smile and a thumbs up as she sat in a very comfy couch across from Conan. A camera man walked shouted loudly, making Ezzie jump.
"And we're live in five...four...three...two...one.." The man became silent and Conan smiled towards the camera.
"Hello and welcome, today we're going to be interviewing the lovely miss Ezzie Mendez. She's here with us tonight only days before her first album hits the stores on September second." He turned to smile at Ezzie.
"So Ezzie, up until now, you've been very quiet on how you were discovered. Tell us about the experience." Ezzie took a deep breath.
"Well, it was all really sudden. I was actually discovered by Amanda Jacobs, who heard me singing in the shower. An hour later, she took me over to Alohamora Records and soon enough, I was working on my first album. I was basically just waiting for someone to shout April Fools! and send me back to the shelter, you know?" She covered her mouth in mock shock. It was all in the script. She was supposed to let something slip about her home life by 'accident' and then have to explain later. In truth, Ezzie knew exactly what she was doing. Conan laughed triumphantly.
"Oh, looks like we're finding out a bit more than expected huh? So you mean to tell me, Ezzie, that you started out life in a shelter? How did that happen?" Ezzie took a deep breath. She was about to tell the whole world about her past, present and future. It was her private life, and she was to reveal it to everyone. This wasn't fair, but it had to be done. Ezzie took a deep breath and answered the man's question.

"Well, I grew up in Spain with my parents. We were always a very poor family, always moving from place to place trying to make ends meet. Eventually, our travels ended up in London, where I've been for quite a while. They had a talk with me the night they left. They said they loved me and such, and no matter what, they would be back for me. They left me in the playground of a park, and never returned. My guess is they died somewhere along the way. I know I'm never going to see them again. But that's fine, I know they're watching over me." Conan wiped a fake tear from his eye and spoke to the audience.
"Well isn't that just beautiful? It really gets you right in here." He turned to Ezzie again and started asking more questions.
"So they left you in a playground, and then what? How did you find the shelter?" Ezzie was about to answer before Conan stopped her.
"Oh, well! Looks like the time got away from us. Ladies and gentlemen, we'll be right back after these useless messages. Stay tuned to find out how Ezzie met her beau, Ethan!" Ezzie took a sip of water and returned backstage for her three minute break. Ethan was waiting there.
"Ethan, I can't believe I'm doing this." She said, almost melting in his arms. He stroked her hair.
"It's alright, Ezzie. After this, it will all be fine. People will gossip, obviously, but it's the only way to get your name out there. Sometime you have to make sacrifices. "
"Iknow, that's the only reason I'm going through with this. But later, we have to get away. How about a nice quiet date at a muggle resturant or something. I'm starved." He smiled as a crew member ushered her back on stage. She sat down once more and the camera man did his little countdown again.
"And we're back, with the Conan O' Brian show! I'm Conan O'Brien, and today we're interviewing little miss Ezzie Mendez." He turned away from the audience and back at her.
"Now Ezzie, during the break, I noticed you and Ethan shared some precious moments together. Sorry about having to shorten your chat, but your new fans want to know how you two met. Your getting big fame at a rather fast pace. And it's all because of that guy backstage. Why don't we bring him out here? Ladies and gentlemen, Ethan Jacobs!" He gestured toward the backstage door and Ethan ran out, looking extremely sexy in his plain white t-shirt and jeans. He sat down and smiled.
"Nice to see you again, Conan." Ethan said.
"And it's very nice to see you too, Ethan. I was just asking Ezzie here how you guys met. Care to share the story? We're all dying to know." Conan looked excited, but it was all an act. Conan probably couldn't care less, it was only his viewers he was trying to please with this story. Ethan stepped up to the challenge.
"Well, I saw Ezzie singing in the park with her guitar, and I thought, wow this girl has got some serious talent. And I couldn't help but notice how extremely beautiful she was, too." He smiled and looked into Ezzie's eyes. She blushed, and Conan picked up on it within seconds.
"Aw, look guys! She's blushing! You guys make such a cute couple. And, on top of it all, there are rumors of you two living together. Are they true?" Ezzie spoke up this time. Here it came, the kidnapper story.
"Yes Conan, the rumors are in fact true. We are living together, but no worries guys! His parents are there too!" Ezzie smiled, starting to get the hang of all this sudden publicity.
"Aw, you guys are like a married couple!" Ethan and Ezzie both broke out in fake laughter.
"I guess you could say that, the only problem is we're only fifteen! Still in school in all that. Marraige isn't exactly on our minds though." Ezzie said with an amused smile.
"Ah, I see. So you got together with Ethan and told him about your shelter situation and he invited you to live with him. That makes sense. Now you said something about school. You two go to the same school?" Ethan answered this question.
"Yes we do. We go to a boarding school out in Scotland."
"I see, what's it called?" Ezzie laughed.
"Now Conan, you've got to give us some time away from the public eye. We can't tell you that!"
"Aw darn, well it looks like another one of those darned breaks. We'll be back soon, don't touch the remote! Stay tuned to find out what Ezzie's plans are for the future, and her newest album." Ezzie sighed and took another sip of water.

Conan left the stage to use the toilets leaving Ethan and Ezzie to talk somewhat freely among themselves. Ethan turned to Ezzie and spoke in a very low tone so no crew members or someone in the audience could hear their conversation. Ethan held her hand. She loved the warmth his hand brought into her body. Especially when she felt so cold inside. He gave her a tight hug and the audience gave a loud "awwww" which made Ezzie laugh. She felt like crying, but didn't know why. This should have been the happiest day of her life, only it wasn't. She felt so sad. So very very sad.
"Ezzie, don't worry. After this we'll go out to eat. Some place private and out of the way. Just me and you. It will all be better soon." Ezzie thanked him as Conan returned and seconds later, the show returned also. Ezzie forced a smile on her face and let her dimples show. Just like she had been taught. She was beginning to despise being famous, to a point when she just wanted to get away.
"And we're back, with The Conan O' Brien show! Tonight we have the lovely Miss Ezzie Mendez with us, here to talk about her new album." Conan turned away from the audience and onto Ezzie and Ethan. "So, when we last left, you were talking about school. Now, unfortunately, you refused to tell us where it is you go, but can you at least tell us what it's like?" Ezzie felt it safe to describe Hogwarts, without giving away too much detail.
"Well, it's a lot of fun. Last year, I had few good friends, but I can tell, this year will be a whole lot different. The campus is big, but news travels surprisingly fast among the students. Next year surely won't be the same for me." She smiled.
"I see, so what are your plans for the coming year? If you go to boarding school, how will you find time to do anything?" Conan looked at Ezzie.
"Well, we've talked about this a lot, and have come to a decision that I will continue going to red carpet events and such, and possibly take some time to write a few songs. Tours and recording and things like that are completely off my list for the school year. I'll definitely be doing a few performances here and there, but I won't be too active. Like I said, it's only been a month since I've been noticed, and I already want to get away for a while." Conan pretended to look offended.
"Now Ezzie! I didn't know you hated us so much! Are you trying to avoid us already?" Ezzie laughed.
"Oh, Conan! I love all my fans and everything, but the media is very hard to get used to. I used to be able to walk around and do whatever I wanted, but now it's different, now I need an escort to get anywhere."She sighed as she held Ethan's hand tight. She never wanted to let go. He provided her so much love and support, it was hard to ever let him go.
"I see, so now it's time to take some questions from the audience." Hands from all around the studio flew up into the air. Conan called on a teenage girl that looked about two years older than her. "Ezzie is a very unique name. Is it short for something?"
"Ezzie is short for the name Esmeralda. I've always loved my name, but it's a bit hard for me to say in a fast paced conversation. It really slows my words down. English is hard enough for me already." She said, her Spanish accent shining through again. Conan called on a man in his late thirties next.
"I know you're not doing any concerts during your school year, but when can we expect a concert?" Ezzie thought about this for a moment. Her agent hadn't discussed any concerts with her yet.
"Well, we haven't got a date going yet, but I can assure you it will definitely be during the next winter holidays." Conan interjected this time and announced that was all the time they had and that the show had come to a close. It was a good thing too, Ezzie was getting tired of answering all these questions. She waved the audience goodbye and walked out with Ethan still holding her hand into the limo.

Ezzie let out a sigh of relief and Ethan hugged her. Ezzie finally broke down and started to cry. She cried all through the ride to the diner and then cried some more. Tony helped her out by placing a concealment charm on her face to hide the fact that she'd been crying. Ethan cuddled with her and helped her find her way back into her normal emotions. They stayed in an alley for about a half hour trying to console Ezzie and make her feel better. None of them said a word, but they all knew what each other was feeling. Sorrow. Remorse. Regret. Ezzie should have never done that interview. Not before she was ready anyway. It was one of the many prices that came along with being famous. Ezzie's crying finally ceased and they entered the diner. Ezzie picked up a magazine and put it up to her face so nobody would see her. She was sickened to notice it was a magazine with her face on the cover.
"Ezzie spills all!" Was the headline. She couldn't believe how fast news traveled. It had been only three hours since Ezzie had left the interview, and already she had made the cover of some stupid teen magazine. She opened the magazine to page seven, where her story was featured. She read the article quickly, growing paler with every line.
Esmeralda (Ezzie) Mendez is surely a rising star. Within the past month, she has made it on the cover of countless magazines, has done two interviews, and sang at four concerts. She's even coming out with a new album. Who knew that one day, not very long ago, this famous rock star was homeless.
In her interview today with Conan O'Brien, this young starlet has told us more about her past than most would find in a summary of a soap opera! She is truly living a rags to riches life, and it's all thanks to the famous Jacobs Family. Without them, our little Ezzie would still be singing on street corners.
Our previous rumors about Ezzie and Ethan are in fact true. They have been a couple for two and a half months and are already living together. Both Ezzie and Ethan confirmed the rumors in their interview this morning. Ezzie's exact words were as follows.
"Yes Conan, the rumors are in fact true. We are living together, but no worries guys! His parents are there too!"
The singer was all smiles today, and answered every question that came her way. All but one. When O' Brien asked her what school she and her beau attended she kept her lips shut. It's odd really, that she's willing to talk freely about her dead parents, but refuses to let us know what school she attends. Another quote from the interview clearly shows Ezzie's view on the media:
"...it's only been a month since I've been noticed, and I already want to get away for a while."
The mystery will soon be unraveled, but for now, this is our story. More news next time, but for now, you'll just have to stick with the fact hat Ezzie used to be a homeless girl and was discovered by a rich and beautiful fashion designer while she was singing in the shower. If that's not enough, then check page eight for Ezzie's fun facts!
Ezzie scoffed at the magazine and threw it aside. She barely noticed Ethan order her a plain cheeseburger with no fries. It was so cute how he knew exactly what she wanted. Ethan knew her so well by now. She couldn't stay mad at anyone, not even the writer of this article with Ethan around. He held her hand from across the table.
"It's been a rough day for you. I'm glad we had this time to finally be alone." He leaned over to give her a kiss. They were sitting in a booth, so Ezzie could easily slide over and kiss him back. Pretty soon, they were all but snogging each other when Ezzie was blinded by a sudden flash of lights. Cameras. Ezzie couldn't take it anymore. How did they find her?
"Ezzie!" Ethan cried. "C'mon, out the back!" Ezzie grabbed her burger and ran out the door, closely followed by the men with the cameras. They escaped into the limo and sped off. Ethan suggested they go to one of his friend's house parties, as they could at least have some privacy there. Normally, the parties were filled with empty rooms that were perfect when privacy was needed. Ezzie agreed and they were off.
